Are here before a show! Def have to make a reservation WELL in advance as we did the restaurant was clearly packed. The actual restaurant inside is clean, very large, you need to walk up a flight of stairs, with very high ceilings and the most beautiful Christmas decorations! For food- we started with a dish of rigatoni a la vodka and shared it as a table, along with the arancini. They were both DELISH, but the rigatoni was a great portion, def a nice meal for 1 but we all shared it. The arancini for $18 was 3 golf ball sized rice balls and while DELISH wasn't even enough for us to share. My brother in law got the French onion soup which he also said was delish. The ONLY not amazing part of the entire meal and experience was with the service. It started with 3 of us ordering Diet Coke, getting it and clearly the syrup kicked. Not a big deal, we tell the server, he came back and was like yeah sorry they're trying fix it. Again, it biggie. Well they never fixed it, and none of us got a drink after that. Def would've taken an iced tea or a glass of wine or something but our server never followed back up. We had to ask our server what the specials were and he honestly misunderstood or misheard a lot of things. I asked for my spinach to be swapped out with mashed potatoes, he said sure, but then didn't bring the fries that come with the steak frites. My sister asked for a scoop of chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla with the brownie dessert and he brought the vanilla on it, and an additional choc scoop, and an additional vanilla scoop. Thanks except then we were charged $4 a scoop lol. Nice server, really, and didn't ruin how great the restaurant was, but def wasn't the best. Now, for the meals- my Dad, BIL, and husband all had the prime rib and it was amazing and perfect, 10/10. I had steak frites, also perfectly cooked and so tasty. My mom and sister had the beef short rib and loved it as well. For desserts we shared 3, the bread pudding, brownie and 16 layer cream cake. I liked the cream cake, my mom hated it, everyone else thought it was not worth getting again. We all agreed the bread pudding was the best dessert out of the 3, and the brownie was just a brownie. The children's menu grilled cheese, the crust was burnt. They couldn't get our bar order correct. 4 times-I'm not kidding. They kept getting our drinks wrong. Order the Caesar Salad with chicken. I sat at the bar here for dinner before a show. I ordered the Dotty drink which has all things that I like, including pineapple, but it came out red and tasted kind of like cough syrup. I think it was a completely different drink, and I hated it. I ordered the short rib which was good and a big portion. Since I didn't like my cocktail, I ordered a glass of Malbec from the menu and he said he didn't have that kind but they had another which was less expensive. Well, when I got the bill, it was actually more. At the beginning, the bartender was attentive, but then people started coming up to the bar to order their drinks, and I was completely ignored. I would've had another drink, but just ended up closing out. Then I noticed that gratuity was automatically added to the bill which was not cool since I didn't feel like my service was that great. The food was excellent, we tried 3 different steak dishes and everyone in the group was satisfied and to full for dessert. The staff was very friendly and attentive. When we arrived they had show tunes playing at a reasonable volume. At 7pm they had a woman singing and playing the piano, all fun and well-known songs. On our first morning in NYC after a long day traveling; and a full day ahead we wanted to enjoy a great brunch - and settled on this spot. The decor is simply amazing, beautiful lights, great aesthetics and the service from start to finish was impeccable- my water glass was full always as was our coffee. We began with oysters- three each of East Coast and West Coast; perfectly prepared, super fresh with a delicious mignonette in which the cucumber made a difference. Then brunch - the kids enjoyed French toast and a blueberry pancake - both delicious. My husband had corn beef hash and I had an amazing avocado toast. We also tried the Bloody Mary and an orange mint mimosa. We ended with Expresso and sorbet for the kids and very full bellies which we planned to walk off for the rest of the day. Heard abt this place thru IG and i kind of knew we were only coming for the decor. Christmas decorations were top notch and legit amazing. They def spent lots of money on decorations!!! I was abit disappointed to see their special cocktails that sounds so "holiday themed" didnt look anything christmasy. No cool cups, no special decorations/garnishing to make it look cute. So we didnt order any drinks after seeing people get drinks at other tables. The food was alright. Very typical diner-type food. We got the short ribs entree and it really could use some plating improvements cos the meat, carrots and mash potatoes were just all slapped on the dish with no garnishes. There's nothing we ordered that warranted the nearly two hours our stay at this restaurant ended up being. People who sat long after us were fed long before us. The gimmick they have for birthdays is cute, but by the fifth birthday I thought I was losing my mind. The place was comfortable and spacious, and about 60/40 tourist to resident. The food was okay and filled us up. I can't say anything negative about the food, but it wasn't especially memorable. Came here for lunch with a few co-workers and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. It's a relatively new venue so really, it was a maybe in terms of food. Luckily the food was on point. The service, however, needs some work. That said, no one was upset with what we are. Again, given that this is in Times Square and it's Guy Fieri's old spot, the worry was real. Rest assured the food is good although moderately priced. We all ordered different things, but the butchers block (charcuterie board), flat bread special, and prime rib were on point. They have a huge space so I see a perfect happy hour spot for the future. They also have a downstairs VIP area that I didn't get to use but got to check out. I'll be back. When looking for a place near our theater, this new one came up and we especially liked the convenience of being able to walk through the passageway mid-block to get to our theater. We had a reservation and were seated right away. It wasn't crowded when we arrived but got more crowded before we left. The ambiance was quite nice-modern and subdued. There are a lot of rooms so you don't feel like you are in a crowded place. The prices are a bit high especially when you consider all sides are a la carte. The sides are enough for more than one person but if only one person wants them, seems a bit pricey for it. I had the fish which was cooked perfectly and tasted great. It came with the skin on which came off very easily. The mashed potatoes were nice but more than I needed. For dessert, I had the key lime tart with Baily's ice cream. It was really superb. Our service was very good throughout the meal. The price wasn't outrageous but wish they had at least one side with the main course. The convenience to the theater was great. read more

Went to the bathroom and the soap dispenser was clogged I guess and soap sprayed all over my pants. It is an open sink style where men's and women share sinks. The food was good? Had smoked salmon deviled eggs. The smoked salmon on the egg was amazing! The egg was just a boiled egg with the smoked salmon on top. Deviled egg was not a good description. Had a quinoa bowl. The Ribbon is a little flat...flat bread that is! Wooo is that amazing. Imagine flatbread topped with broccolini dancing with some crispy bacon on a cloud of ricotta. Definitely my fav of all I ate there. What I was also impressed with was the atmosphere. Classy. Open layout. And the decor felt fun and complemented the Times Square vibe. I had seen an ad for the Ribbon and made a mental note to stop in. After a movie recently, I decided on an early dinner and went in. It was originally a Guy Fiero endeavor but has now become the Ribbon. It is a very large enterprise; As you walk in there is a large bar and multiple high top tables for seating-this is probably set up for happy hour or a pre-theater drink. As you go up a set of steps, there is a main dining are with more seating around a corner. I was given a menu and a wine list and decided on the bacon cheddar burger which came with lettuce and tomato. It was a large burger cooked medium well as I asked for. The waitress came back several times to see if I needed anything else. This burger came with shoestring fries which were cooked perfectly. The service was quick, attentive and I would recommend and return especially for a post theatre meal or drink. read more

I usually love the restaurant,it is so convenient to Broadway after a show, and the food has always been great. I went there last weekend with 4 friends after a show and presented coupons, which, though expired, had been given to me by my waiter on our last visit as an apology when the service was quite slow. He told me they would be honored on our next visit, and to ignore the expiration date.. The coupons were for a free dessert or beverage. When I tried to use the coupons, the waiter called the manager and the manager declined to accept them. I have been to the restaurant many times and was disappointed by the fact that the coupons were turned down, as we spent hundreds of dollars there that night, and I had been told the coupons would be accepted. Be aware that if you are offered coupons for any reason, such as food being slow to come out of the kitchen as I was, there's a good chance they will not be accepted on your next visit. read more

We did not want food brought out all at once, because the appetizers came very quickly, and they didn't bring the food out for an hour, after complaining. (This is my first review. I never review cuz it's never been this bad) I recently purchased bottomless brunch for two for Bacall's Family Steakhouse and the experience was unacceptable. The coupon came with an entree and bottomless drinks for 90 minutes. I'll list a couple complaints about our experience below: 30+ minutes wait for first round of drinks Drink pitchers came with mix only w/o alcohol 2/3 times (sending them back took even longer for replacements to come out) 1+ hour wait for food Food came with parchment paper mixed into potatoes and rubber drink cap in birria tacos Keep in mind this is all happening while there are only a couple tables in the restaurant so the service seems negligent. Server was making up excuses as to why things were slow... there was no one else there. Someone posted 4 hours ago that there was live music. I was there 4 hours ago and it was empty with no live music so they are obviously paying for reviews. This was one of, if not the worst, dining experiences. Wow! Really bad customer service from the time we walked in the door. Had reservations and showed up early. It was so crazy inside and the people working there were not friendly at all. I get it's Christmas and probably doesn't want to be there but try and help your customers out that are trying to have a good time. We got called with a few other groups to follow the hostess to seat us and then she abandoned us by the time we go to the seating area upstairs. We just stood there with no help and had to ask for a manager. He was just as rude and said "oh well" to us. Didn't seem to care as he felt bothered to talk to us or help us. Do not go here, the reservation system / hostess system is so unorganized at one point they asked everyone who had a reservation to go to the front and they just began seating random people. We checked in at 6:50 wasn't seated until 7:20. Wasn't approached by our server until 7:40. Placed our drink and app and dinner order. We got our drinks at 8pm. And noticed that my wife's "Buddy the elf" drink was half empty compared to the other people's "Buddy the elf" drink. And by 8:40 we hadn't received our food. The table next to us placed their food order at 8:20 and go their food at 8:35. So we just paid for our drinks and left. Do not go here. read more
