My husband and I decided to go to the Americana last minute on a Saturday and wandered around trying to find a place to eat for about half an hour. It was almost 9 pm and I was getting pretty hangry. With the help of Yelp we decided to give Bacari a try since there was a no wait. It ended up being a great decision because we really enjoyed the food here. This is a tapas style place so you order a few dishes to share and the portions are meant to be small. We ordered the crispy polenta, the lamb stuffed eggplant, and the smoked mushroom pizza. All three items were fantastic, and quite unique. First off, the eggplant went really well with the crispy polenta. The lamb didn't taste gamey when paired with the eggplant and despite the mushroom pizza having a strong smokey flavor, it was perfect. Our waitress was really nice and friendly too. I would love to come back and try their other items. read more

Service was the worse! Our server Hannah never checked up on us to see if we got our food which I never got my entree. My husband was done with his food when she finally went over to our table & we stated that my entree was missing. Lack of attention from the server, never going back to this location. read more

I've been coming here for years, on and off. When you're craving some comfort food, especially rotisserie chicken with an Asian flare, this is your joint. The lemon ice tea is one of my favorite drinks here. My go to is the roast chicken with hinan rice. If you like an old-school American grilled steak, the steak is so tasty here too. Their pasta has a unique sauce too. Love the pasta. It gets packed on the weekends, so be prepared to wait a bit for a table. read more

Came here for an early birthday dinner and was given great service all around. My server was Kasarlina and she was able to give great drink and good recommendations. She suggested this watermelon dish which initially does sound strange but it ended up being really good. Cocktails were all unique and all the other staff were very on top of things. Overall a great experience and would return! read more

DINE-LA LUNCH REVIEW I loved this place even before COVID and I ain't never gonna stop loving this place ..... bitch Ok, but seriously, absolutely love this place for small bites. Deep flavors for tiny dishes, you can tell it's made with quality ingredients. The thing that pushes you over the edge is the 90 minute open bar (the only thing that's worth getting is the sangria btw) The food we got, especially the shawarma tacos, was to die for. The burger was a bit rare, so we sent it back and they brought us a new one! Stupendous! I always love to get the bread pudding too, so homey, warm and comforting! It was a spontaneous night out, which I'm still adjusting to since we are slowly coming out of a pandemic. So my date and I decided to go to the Americana mall to go eat, but it was past 9pm and other dining places were closed early. We settled on Barcari since they had outdoor seating. I was in the mood for a burger and fries. The burger is usually served open face but we both opted for a top bun. I would have preferred a softer bread, but overall it wasn't too bad. The fries are served with a sunny side up on top (you can ask to put it on the side if you don't want it on top). The staff were nice, and I enjoyed the casual dining experience here with the perfect summer night. read more

The food at this establishment is very good. Most of the dishes here are meant to be shared so it's a good idea if you go with a big group. It's just hard for me to just pick one favorite dish, they're all very good. The service is very good and they're very fast read more

Absolutely loved this place. The have patio seating all along the sidewalk due to the pandemic but it gave it a real European vibe so i really enjoyed it. Take a photo of the barcode in front and the menu will automatically pop up for hands free dining. I'd describe this place as a modern twist on tapas which is my favorite cause you get to try everything at affordable prices. Everything we ordered individually was under 13$!! The plates that really stood out the most and is a must try was the Mac & Cheese, Cauliflower, Brussels Sprouts, Bacari Fries, Tuscan Kale Salad and the Bread Pudding!! Everything was amazing. The only think I regretted was not getting the bone marrow but I will definitely be back to try that as well! read more

Absolutely fantastic and my favorite Bacari location. The servers are ridiculously friendly (shoutout to Olivia and Noelle for being the most amazing and cool servers ever and recommending the perfect drinks) and the outside seating area is just beautiful. If you plan on going, make a reservation. It wasn't crazy busy for a Saturday night at 6:30, but it's better to be safe than sorry. If you're the kind of person who likes eating one huge plate on your own, shift your expectations. Be ready and willing to share, compromise for people at the table who are craving things and people who are unwilling to eat certain things. That's the best way to get the most out of your Bacari experience. Between me and one other person, we tore through the truffle mac n cheese, beet gnocchi, gorgonzola pasta, margherita pizza + salame, and stuffed mushroom as well as 7 odd drinks. Ask the servers to recommend drinks - I got the Royal Blood as a surprise which had a smokey taste and mesmerizing black rock salt that I loved but never would have chosen on my own. However, the bartender is apparently the one that concocted the best drink I've ever had, one so of his own design that it's not even on the menu. Mezcal, tarragon, lime, ginger, cucumber, and curaçao. Earth shatteringly delicious. Sweet but not too much so, with a hint of citrus and spice from the tajín on the rim. UGH. Chef's kiss. Wish i could rate 6/5 read more

Came here with some friends for dinner, and the service was great! A little on the slow side, but they did comp one of our drinks to accommodate. I did find it strange that not all of our food came out at the same time, rather it came out one at a time... Other than that, good time and good food! For reference, I got the glazed pork belly (4/5 the pork belly was super soft and melted in your mouth, but there was too much of the sauce), the brussel sprouts (5/5 amazing, a must try!) and the fries (5/5 the sauce was really good, and the texture of the fries was amazing!) For drinks, I got a mai tai and their Pineapple Express, both of which were 4/5 Overall, I would definitely come back! read more

What a complete disaster this place has become. The food which is the most important thing followed by customer service has gone to complete shit. Mushroom pizza - mushrooms tasted caned, cheddar cheese and everything tasted awful, crust was way off, everything about this pizza was bad. Open faced burger was sub par at best, but the fries were decent. We got a few other appetizers that were decent, but the food overall was much much worse than we remembered. Will not be going back to Bacari anytime soon if ever because of the NO Quality Control on the food. Shame on Bacari for getting "too big" and going to shit. What a complete disaster and a waste of money this place has become! read more

Outstanding from start to finish. Amazing welcome by hostesses, friendly, kind, positive, the best. Atmosphere was fun and cute outside, heat lamps add to the warm vibe. The food is always incredible just so spot on and delicious every time, how do they do it? Our servers and the GM were spectacular. My friends are allergic to so much. Not LA fake allergic, but like bad stuff happens immediately allergic, and when the staff were aware of it, they were in it every step of the way, from informing about every plate and sauce they brought to the table to even deconstructing multiple dishes so my homies could massively enjoy the heavenly spread without going to heaven, nah mean? The staff here is very friendly, Bridgette and Jeff were both helpful and their recommendations were on point. We sat there without being offered menus, waters, cocktails, or even a hello, for nearly 10 minutes before I got the attention of the female bartender who seemed a little unhappy about having to stop washing dishes to bring us menus. We ordered drinks with her and looked over the menu. Well, now that she knew we were there, certainly, we'd get service, right? Nope, not once did she check if we were ready to order, nor did the other bartender or the bar back. But one of them did go joke with the 3 gentleman on the other side. I again called her over letting her know we were ready to order apps and she put those in. We didn't get one of them because we asked about a specific ingredient being inside one and she didn't know so she asked the other bartender who said, no, there shouldn't be. Then with all certainty she came and told us no, the ingredient wasn't in there... at no point did she think to ask a manager or chef, even after I asked if she was sure. Anyway, she didn't come back to see if we were ready to order entrees before the apps came out. Honestly the 2 stars on service was for the exceptional food runner who put our food down and immediately saw we were not even set up with utensils or plates and he immediately went to the bartenders and told them to grab them for us... at least someone cared. The side plates took a second because they only had 1, and it was dirty (we know because they first gave it to us before we pointed it out), but then the male bartender got us clean ones. We then asked if someone could take our entree order when they had a second. Oh, and I should point out that a lady sat next to us, she immediately received a menu, utensils and had her full order in before she came over to check on us. By the time the entrées came out, we were kind of over it and were just glad to have food. At some point while eating, I flagged her for another drink, at this point she asked if we by chance wanted any bread... there's bread? Um, yes, we do please. (this would have been so great while we were waiting). Anyway, I was really looking forward to eating here and was so disappointed that no one really seemed to want to provide us service. Thank goodness the world cup was playing because otherwise we would have just been staring at a wall. The food was good, but I really hope the bar hospitality doesn't reflect the entire team.

The restaurant is located on the ground level of an apartment building. They also have outdoor seating, but we sat inside. One restroom each for men/women (and super clean). We walked in and got a pleasant greeting from Mia. She was HANDS DOWN the best part of this experience and provided stellar customer service. She is so young and has a bright future ahead of her. This restaurant is very lucky to have someone as good as her working there. For our appetizers, we got the Cesar Salad ($17), Parmesan on the side, and Bruschetta ($17). I also asked Mia if they bring complimentary bread to the table and she said they do, upon request. She asked if we wanted olive oil or butter and I chose butter. For dessert, Mia was kind enough to bring out a complimentary Key Lime Cheesecake since she found out my son is celebrating his birthday in a few days. She was seriously impeccable. Honestly, the place is just really drab and boring. There isn't much decor and it feels like a slightly elevated diner that serves beer and wine. It was a Friday night and there was no one in there/no pickup orders. We were there from about 7:30pm-10pm when they closed and only 3 other parties came in. There is no music playing, which makes the atmosphere even more drab and lifeless. Its also super cold in there and I asked Mia to adjust the AC and even after she did, it was still cold. Okay, you're probably looking at the price per plate ratio, but please don't sweat it because the food is fire. This coming from a guy who values value. Breakdown time. The Food: 9/10 Charcuterie - definitely go with the 5 selection (as opposed to 3) because you're going to want to try each of the perfectly textured cheeses. Also, the capers are a great little touch. Lamb Burger - cooked exactly to order, and the tahini sauce on top complements the flavors of the lamb exquisitely. Mouth watering to remember. Pork Belly - tender and aptly sauced, they provide exactly what you want in pork belly. This one in particular could have upped the portion size a smidge, but that's the downside of the restaurant as a whole. Brussles Sprouts - cooked to the perfect level of crispness, and the creme fraiche was an awesome change from the usual balsamic. The only downside was that the sprouts near the bottom of the bowl got a little drowned in it. (I love sauce, so I didn't mind - but if you aren't a sauce lover, I warned you.) These four dishes and our wine came quickly, went quickly, and did not disappoint at all... so we got one more. Bacon-wrapped Dates - we pushed our luck. Before you order these little babies, realize that they are VERY full-bodied dates. That, combined with the melted cheeses inside, produced a very sticky/chalky mouthful. The date flavor overwhelmed the cheeses and bacon. The Spot: 9/10 The service is quick, attentive (but not annoyingly so,) and friendly. Reread that sentence because I want to say it twice. They really were awesome. The setting was at once inviting, trendy, and tasteful - but like its portion sizes, inside is a bit small. Overall, it's a cool (but pricey) spot with delicious, smallish portions. Come here for an occasion, or when you're in the mood for legit food. Do not come here to stuff your face. Oh Bacari GDL what a delight! I went solo mission but I wanted to have my taste buds recreated from moments past where I had the best tapas style food. Rainbow Beet Salad with whipped burrata as a starter slash salad with fresh micro-greens obviously delicious of course. I was able to get two house draft beers tasters which were delightful the Blonde and IPA and I can't remember the can beer I had both it was either LA based maybe Santa Barbara or Hawthorn which was a good ABV 7% soft and light. Then my main dish was my favorite I forgot to say I'm semi-biased but I did work at the Bacaro LA prior too it being a Bacari West Adam's...the main dish I had was a roasted chicken on top of a parm risotto cake and then sitting in a bed of lemon, capper, fresh jalapeño, and butter sauce that is delightful. My absolute favorite from my favorite Renowned Chef of Los Angeles , Chef Lior Hillel, who has created the most exquisite menu tapas style at all the Bacari locations the last being their Barcari Sunset Junction that has recently opened up. I was able too speak to a table over that was super sweet and explained too them the beginnings of the LA close to USC location and recommend 2 of their dishes that had the fresh sauce that they have bottled up at Whole Foods which would be the Noa's "Chipotle Sauce" and the Brussels with "Pomegranate Sauce!" There's also a third sauce I can't recall but all 3 of them are at Whole Foods. Staff accommodations, politeness and courteousness was very 5 out of 5 amazing! We chose this restaurant for our wedding dinner, and it was absolutely perfect! Booking and reserving a table for 18 people was incredibly easy, they didn't require a deposit, which was a nice touch.
