[[HIGHLIGHT]]Had an amazing date night in Glendale and stumbled upon Bacari because it was so lively, even on a Sunday evening![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now we understand why because the food, the service, and the ambiance made for a lovely dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our favorite thing about this restaurant is that it's tapas style, so you get more variety. They recommend 2-3 small plates per person. Everything we ordered was so tasty: Sea Bass, Scallops, Lamb Kebab (add the pita!), Mushroom Pizza and the Rainbow Beets. For the pizza, make sure to ask for red pepper and honey on the side. It's so good! Only thing I would skip is bread pudding for dessert. It was not bad, but something we would not order again. Overall, wonderful place for a date night or group dinner. Our server Jeff took great care of us and made our evening very pleasant. They also do parking validations when you park at Americana at the Brand.

Stopped by for a last-minute late lunch while my parents were in town, & we had such a great experience! The service was amazing...everyone was so kind & welcoming. The menu is meant for sharing, so we ordered several small plates to split, & everything was delicious. The drinks were absolutely gorgeous, too! I've passed by this place so many times, & I'm so glad I finally tried it. 10/10...I'll definitely be back!

Had a wonderful experience at Bacari GDL! The atmosphere is great, the small plates are creative and full of flavor, and the service is always outstanding from start to finish. Drink of choice: bacarita. Shareable plates: rainbow beets, shawarma tacos, cauliflower, street corn, fried chicken sliders. Highly recommend for a great dining experience in Glendale!

I have always wanted to visit Bacari while strolling through the Glendale mall, so we finally decided to give it a try. While a couple of items truly stood out, overall I'd rate the experience around 3/5. Before talking about the food, I have to mention our server Phil , he was exceptionally warm, sweet, and friendly. The dishes he recommended ended up being some of the better ones we tried, and the service overall was honestly 10/10. Standout Dish - Sea Bass (5/5) I would genuinely come back just for this. The fish, topped with corn and vegetables, was absolutely phenomenal and easily the highlight of the meal. Stuffed Mushrooms (3/5) Very smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture, but nothing particularly memorable flavor-wise. Mujadara (3/5) Simple rice and lentils dish. Not bad at all, just nothing special. Green Falafel (3/5) Decent, but not something I'd specifically recommend. Brussels Sprouts (2/5) Usually one of our favorite appetizers elsewhere because of the sauces and garnishes, but this version felt too bland. Margherita Pizza (2/5) This is normally the safest menu option anywhere, so this one was a bit disappointing. Dessert : Best Cake & Malabi (5/5) Thankfully, the meal ended on a high note. Both desserts were absolutely worth it :) Overall, I might return to try more dishes, mainly because that sea bass was truly excellent. The food was a mix of hits and misses, but the amazing service definitely made the experience better.

Came back to try the other items on the menu I didn't order the last time. -Flat iron steak - cooked just right -Noah's Cauliflower - you want to mix it with salad underneath. We also combined it with the lamb hummus and used the pita - VERY GOOD this way. -Sea Bass- loved and would definitely order again. Great balance with the grilled veggies. -Double chocolate - would NOT order again. Tasted like they used a pre-mix in the microwave. Some parts were moist, while the crusty parts were inedible and hard to chew. Looked enticing though. -Vanilla ice cream with the honey and walnuts were a great combo. This visit was an 8 out of 10 for me. Enjoy.

Delicious food and amazing service! Everything we ordered was fresh and full of flavor. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. The atmosphere was beautiful outside patio and inside was perfect for a nice lunch or dinner. I would definitely recommend Bacari to anyone looking for a great meal and a wonderful dining experience.

Really chic restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a tapas-style menu. Getting a reservation was easy for brunch on a Saturday. We arrived around 11:30 AM when the restaurant opened and there were still plenty of seats available for walk-ins. Parking: We parked at the Americana parking garage which was free during our visit. Parking in the garages can get really difficult after 1 PM though. Our server also told us the restaurant validates parking if you park at the Americana, which was nice to know. Food: Really great selection of small plates! Everything we ordered was tasty and had really nice presentation. We came for brunch, but were told the lunch and dinner menus were also available to order from. For drinks, we got the Mimosa, Tokyo Sunset, and Permanent Vacation. The Tokyo Sunset was my favorite because of the fruity citrus flavor that surprisingly paired really well with the shiso leaf. From the brunch menu we got the French toast, egg pizza, and shakshuka. The French toast stood out the most with its rich flavor, soft texture, and fresh berries on top. It was recommended by our server and definitely lived up to the hype. The shakshuka was pretty spicy. From the dinner menu we got the Brussels sprouts and sea bass, which ended up being a really good combination. The sea bass took a bit of time to come out, but it was roasted nicely with tender fish, slightly crispy skin, and flavorful roasted vegetables. Total cost for three drinks and five dishes was around $140 before tip. Overall, Bacari is a great casual restaurant for a special weekend occasion or long conversation with friends. Their tapas-style menu makes it fun to share dishes and try a little bit of everything. There's also a ton to do around the area since this location is right at the Americana.

I came into Bacari today for the first time and was very impressed! I was greeted by the hostess upon arrival. She kindly asked if we had a reservation, and when we let her know we were a walk-in she accommodated us with no issue. For a party of two we waited only ten minutes. We were seated in the outside patio area, which was very comfortable because there's patio heaters for warmth. The chefs recommend 2-3 plates per person to share, so my partner and I ordered and shared the scallop medallions, chefs salmon, noa's cauliflower, and the Mediterranean street corn. For drinks I tried the strawberry fizz forever (which came with fresh strawberries, vodka, lemongrass, lime, and soda water) which was so refreshing and well-balanced! The scallop medallions were so buttery and tender, practically melting in your mouth. The carrot parsnip puree paired beautifully and added a balanced, slightly sweet taste to the dish. The salmon was equally soft and flavorful, complimented nicely with the garlic and herb bulgar. The carmalized cauliflower with chipotle sauce and mixed greens was definitely a standout. The dish was so rich in flavor and with just the right amount of spice. Lastly, the street corn was very delicious, buttery, and satisfying. Overall, the dishes were felt light yet very filling. Would highly recommend and excited to come back again.

I remember when Bacari opened. I was so excited to try it. We went a couple of time but we weren't blown away so we never bothered to return. But since the pandemic, every time we visit the Americana at Brand, we would notice the place was always packed. So we decided to give it another shot, and I am beyond excited we did! Something has certainly changed for the better between their first year and now. I don't know if it's a new chef or what, but the food is delicious for the most part. And the customer service is top notch. We ordered a couple of cocktails and a few items off the menu with the help of our server. The drinks were great (we ordered a second round) and the food was impressive. Up first was their beet salad. It was simple in its preparation and included both red and yellow beet wedges served over whipped chèvre and topped with fresh tarragon. Not only were the beets perfectly cooked, the tarragon took them over the top. Next was the barramundi crudo, which was served with an herbed cucumber relish, sumac and zataar. This was our least favorite dish because the slices of fish were not tender like we expect in a crudo. Our next three dishes made up for it. We had the stuffed mushrooms, pork chop and sea bass. The mushrooms were rather large, filled with with a yummy blend of cheeses and topped with pecans and a lovely pesto. Each one was packed with flavor. The sea bass was cooked perfectly and was accompanied by charred shishito peppers and corn, some tarragon aioli and a charred lemon half. Delicious! But our favorite was the pork chop. It was crusted in corn flakes and served with caramelized pearl onions, a cilantro crème fraiche and a drizzle of Aleppo oil. Next time, I'm getting one just for me. No sharing!!! LOL! What a pleasant surprise! It proves that restaurants often deserve a second chance, especially when you see it packed with customers night after night. Great job Bacari!!

Really conveniently located on the street in Glendale and can find parking in the structure or on the street. Ordered the cauliflower, gem salad, scallop medallions, pork belly and pizza. Service was good right before lunch crawl. Very clean and open space feel. Not too loud and just perfect for a lunch meeting.

Always an excellent experience! The food was amazing, the lamb hummus was fantastic, and the steak was succulent and delicious. We love their cocktails, outstanding and paired perfectly with our meal. A special thank you to Kasarlina, for her exceptional service. She's very attentive throughout our meal, always checking in and making sure our table had everything we needed. Her hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable. We'll definitely be back!

I've been to the Glendale location twice and the staff is always super friendly, though sometimes hard to pin down. Takes about 20 minutes between asking for the check and actually receiving it! The food is unique and good. I like the Tripolene pasta, which I think used to be called the Oaxacan pasta but maybe too many people were butchering the name. The glazed pork belly and smoked mushroom pizza are also delicious. The stuffed mushrooms are just okay. Also once got a free dessert for my birthday. :-) They've since gotten rid of their mandatory service fee (which was in addition to a tip), which is reasonable considering the service is quite slow!

Ask the Community - Bacari GDL

Do they decorate for Christmas time?

We don't necessarily decorate Bacari GDL, but the Americana does lots of Christmas decorating throughout the shops! The large Christmas tree is right around the corner from Bacari GDL!

Is this place loud at night?

It depends. If you're doing outdoor seating... it's loud, but manageable. You can still hold a conversation with the person in front of you. This is why I like this location over the Sherman Oaks one. It's smaller, but it's a little less loud and…

Does the place have AC? Or only on the inside portion of the restaurant?

The front of the restaurant stays open to the street - but it remains cool inside. There's no AC outside, but there is a cool Glendale breeze, with covered tables.

Where is the best place to park?

They have 2hr parking at the Americana

What are the odds of snagging a table on Mother's Day without a reservation?

Slim to none. It's a very popular spot.

Does the resturant validate the valet parking?

    Yes they do!

Are the prices really this cheap? 10$ for the petit filet?

Yes, but you do know that these are smaller portions (Tapas)? So you're not getting a full filet...it's more like a few slices of the filet. - hope this helps. 😌

Do you allow dogs on the patio?

They do, they also have a dog menu ( it is simple though, either burger patty or chicken breast). You have to ask them for the menu. And our waitress was so nice that she brought a bowl of water for our dog.

What time is happy hour? Is it only available in the Bar?

Happy hour is Monday - Friday from 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm. It's available in the entire restaurant!

Do you have a kids menu?

    Yes we do!

What is your brunch days and hours?

Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am - 3:00 pm

    Do you make reservations? I didn't see a link.…

Damian, Thanks for reaching out. Yes, we do take reservations. You can always give us a call to…

Is there live music on Saturdays?

Hi Kamilla, Unfortunately we do not have live music now but we will be providing it around spring early summer. We’re looking for something that’s going to add or compliment our atmosphere.…

I enjoyed my salad and my friend's pasta looked delicious. I was able to customize my salad a bit by asking for more chickpeas instead of salami. Surprisingly, I had to take some of the salad home because I wasn't able to finish it like I originally thought. They have complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar as well. Slightly pricier than what I was expecting but I enjoyed my experience and the food here so I didn't mind paying what we did. Frugal auntie tips: 1) if you're a Caruso rewards member, you can redeem your points to get a discount here. We were a party if 2 and didn't mind the 30 minute quoted wait but we got really lucky that 2 guests at the bar got up right at the same time, plus, the world cup was on so it was perfect timing and we decided to join the bar instead. There were 2 Bartenders and what looked to be a bar back on with no guests to our side of the bar, but 3 guests sat on the other side of the pillar with food already down. We sat there without being offered menus, waters, cocktails, or even a hello, for nearly 10 minutes before I got the attention of the female bartender who seemed a little unhappy about having to stop washing dishes to bring us menus. We ordered drinks with her and looked over the menu. Well, now that she knew we were there, certainly, we'd get service, right? Nope, not once did she check if we were ready to order, nor did the other bartender or the bar back. But one of them did go joke with the 3 gentleman on the other side. I again called her over letting her know we were ready to order apps and she put those in. We didn't get one of them because we asked about a specific ingredient being inside one and she didn't know so she asked the other bartender who said, no, there shouldn't be. Then with all certainty she came and told us no, the ingredient wasn't in there... at no point did she think to ask a manager or chef, even after I asked if she was sure. Anyway, she didn't come back to see if we were ready to order entrees before the apps came out. Honestly the 2 stars on service was for the exceptional food runner who put our food down and immediately saw we were not even set up with utensils or plates and he immediately went to the bartenders and told them to grab them for us... at least someone cared. The side plates took a second because they only had 1, and it was dirty (we know because they first gave it to us before we pointed it out), but then the male bartender got us clean ones. We then asked if someone could take our entree order when they had a second. Oh, and I should point out that a lady sat next to us, she immediately received a menu, utensils and had her full order in before she came over to check on us. By the time the entrées came out, we were kind of over it and were just glad to have food. At some point while eating, I flagged her for another drink, at this point she asked if we by chance wanted any bread... there's bread? Um, yes, we do please. (this would have been so great while we were waiting). Anyway, I was really looking forward to eating here and was so disappointed that no one really seemed to want to provide us service. Thank goodness the world cup was playing because otherwise we would have just been staring at a wall. The food was good, but I really hope the bar hospitality doesn't reflect the entire team.

I was reading this page and saw mixed reviews, so I decided to try it with my son and make my own determination. They have no parking but thankfully we found a spot on the side street. The restaurant is located on the ground level of an apartment building. They also have outdoor seating, but we sat inside. One restroom each for men/women (and super clean). We walked in and got a pleasant greeting from Mia. She was HANDS DOWN the best part of this experience and provided stellar customer service. She is so young and has a bright future ahead of her. Mia treated us with genuine kindness and was a pleasure to talk to during our dinner. She made sure we were well taken care of and our orders were to our exact specifications. This restaurant is very lucky to have someone as good as her working there. For our appetizers, we got the Cesar Salad ($17), Parmesan on the side, and Bruschetta ($17). I also asked Mia if they bring complimentary bread to the table and she said they do, upon request. She asked if we wanted olive oil or butter and I chose butter. My son and I both enjoyed the Bruschetta and thought it tasted very good. The bread was nicely toasted and the tomatoes were seasoned well. It was also a good portion, easily shareable between 2-3 people. The salad wasn't our favorite and we've definitely had better at other restaurants. The lettuce didn't taste too fresh and the dressing wasn't really that good. The portion size was good, though. For my entrée, I got the Spicy Rigatoni ($22) but I asked for it to be light on the spice and added shrimp (+$12). It tasted fine, nothing really to write home about. I had to ask Mia to microwave it for a minute because it wasn't hot. My son ordered the Chicken Parmigiana ($23) but asked for the chicken to be grilled instead of breaded. He said he enjoyed his dish and the tomato sauce had a good amount of garlic in it. For dessert, Mia was kind enough to bring out a complimentary Key Lime Cheesecake since she found out my son is celebrating his birthday in a few days. She was seriously impeccable. Honestly, the place is just really drab and boring. There isn't much decor and it feels like a slightly elevated diner that serves beer and wine. It was a Friday night and there was no one in there/no pickup orders. We were there from about 7:30pm-10pm when they closed and only 3 other parties came in. There is no music playing, which makes the atmosphere even more drab and lifeless. Its also super cold in there and I asked Mia to adjust the AC and even after she did, it was still cold. It's not an upbeat type of place at all but the food is decent and Mia's service is the best part. She herself is 10/5 stars, but for my overall experience, I'll stick with 4 stars this time.

I appreciate her taking the time to get back to us and being so candid and self-effacing. It seems it was a confluence of unfortunate factors that led to us having a sub-par experience at a respected restaurant.

The food is where this place truly shines. Every pasta dish tastes fresh, rich, and made with intention--perfectly cooked noodles paired with flavorful, well-balanced sauces. A special touch that doesn't go unnoticed: the complimentary garlic bread. Served warm, buttery, and perfectly crisp on the outside. Overall, this restaurant proves that you don't need a large space to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Between the high-quality dishes, inviting atmosphere, and standout service, it's a place you'll find yourself wanting to return to again and again.

The bruschetta chicken was juicy and flavorful. The pasta with it was light and delicious. The chicken parm was quite good, but the bolognese sauce was the star of the meal. This was one of our favorite meat sauces we've had in quite a while. We finished the meal with a complimentary budino that our server brought to us as first time guests. The butterscotch flavor was light and creamy, so good! It was the perfect sweet treat to end the meal. Service was very good, our primary server was on top of things and the other people helped him out as well. Manager checked on us too. The restaurant is fairly small and was pretty full. From the outside, it's very unassuming but inside was nice and felt cozy.

Four of us arrived for dinner right as the doors opened on a Saturday night, and while the food is excellent, I really wish they were open for lunch and dinner. The experience is solid old-school Italian exactly as you would expect; the interior, from the booths and tables to the decor, hasn't changed in over 50 years. This place holds deep personal significance for me. My parents used to come here, and we visited often with my stepfather when he was alive. I have great family memories tied to this space. Our meal started traditionally with a bread basket served with cold butter. Because I was saving my appetite for a food charity event later that night, I stuck with the antipasto salad, while my mom and sisters enjoyed the chicken parmigiano, chicken piccata, and veal parmigiana. The food quality remains high, and the service was great. We enjoyed quick, polite service from a server who looked after us well. It is a wonderful spot for anyone looking for a nostalgic, quality meal in a setting that feels frozen in time.

They ended up bringing it out anyway and even comped the dish for us and told us that they weren't going to charge us a corkage fee! def will be coming back to try other items on the menu. Ordered: Pork meatballs:10/10 not salty and paired perfectly with the sourdough Charred octopus: 10/10 cooked to perfection Kampachi crudo: 9/10 very refreshing Broccolini: 10/10 light and flavorful Tonnarelli cacio e pepe: 7.5/10 wasn't my fave. Food 4/5 Pork Meatballs $21 - Best meatballs I've ever had. Full of flavor but a little too salty. Local Wild Mushrooms $24 - Standard, nothing too special. Beets $18 - Refreshing, to the point. Caramelle $27 - My favorite of all the pastas but expensive for very little pieces of pasta and a meatless dish. Full of flavor, lots of oil. Rigatoni Timballo $32 - Delicious, standard. Duck Confit Rotolo $31 - My personal dish which turned out to be my least favorite. Meatballs and Caramelle were my top favorite, secondary are the beets. Prices are not unexpected for the area but are pretty high for what is really given to you. Service 3/5 We sat outside and they were pretty slow to bring water and take our orders. Ambiance 3/5 It was a really lovely time to eat outside but the lights were broken and it was SO dark, there were no added lights to the table. It was impossible to read the menu.
