This is a company that has stores all around the greater Los Angeles area. There are lots of flavors to choose from. They are in long trays and they scoop it out for you. I had half chocolate and half coffee flavor. It was totally delicious and I ate every bite. The one problem is that it starts melting and dripping, even while it's in the cup, so be aware and put a napkin around it. The flavor was wonderful. That consistency was just right and smooth. I'd been to Bacio in Westfield Century City and loved it but first time to be here. I go to Santa Monica and Venice so it's not that Bacio opened a new location here. I have always love the Excellent quality for the gelato, sorbet and vegan flavors It was busy when I came in around 5pm. There was a line but it moved really fast because there are four people who are assisting customers. I didn't even do tasting of any flavors in consideration of the people behind me. I just went ahead and ordered half scoop of pistachio and half scoop of something with pretzel. Both flavors were so good. I really enjoyed licking and scooping it with gusto until it's all gone. Could not resist the sweet gelato fragrance as we passed by so we went in and got a piccolo cup of tiramisu and pistachio gelato. Tiramisu had more coffee notes, and the pistachio had a salty aftertaste at first but it grew on me and loved it even more. We ordered, -Bacio di latte and pesca -Stracciatella and bacio di latte and cioccolato belga -Caramello salato and crema Torino and bacio di latte The service was fast. The server was such a sweet and friendly young gentleman. My husband enjoy his Pesca Gelato. It was a refreshing peach sorbet.His second scoop was Bacio di latte. It had creamy texture with nutty hazelnut combined with light chocolate flavor. Stracciatella was light ,smooth and silky with chocolate pieces incorporated in the Gelato. It gave such a delightful taste. Cioccolato belga had extremely rich flavors and it is perfect for chocolate lovers. Crema Torino was full hazelnut experience as they described. It was fresh, silky and rich. Caramello salato had a nice balanced salted caramel flavor. Overall, their Gelato's flavors were excellent. We also ordered two drinks Iced sweet bacio latte and Iced caramello latte. The drinks were refreshing but they were not the best drinks I tried. I got pecan pie bar because it looked so good. It's always a fun experience to sample the different flavors. Bacio di Latte was introduced to me several years ago at Century City mall where I vividly recall really good gelato and maybe staring at Drew Scott from the Property Brothers a little too long. Color me surprised to see it in Santa Monica this time around. Looked at the menu and while I toyed with the idea of getting two flavors in a piccolo, the affogato was what called to me, specifically the pistachio one which matched my outfit today no less. The affogato comes with one giant scoop of gelato and a freshly pressed espresso for you to pour over if you dine in, which you should try to. There are limited tables but I do feel like it turns over quickly. The presentation was top notch! The flavor? Equally delicious! It was also not shy with the pistachio which I really appreciated! We couldn't make the drive from Zuma beach Malibu last Friday and ended up mistakenly ordering more than we could eat ... so our delivery guy picked 5 QUARTS of ice cream. Tasting this ice cream was so decadent that image after image from my past descended like the scenes from Ratatouille where the critic Anton Ego goes back to his childhood. We gladly gave up a quart of ice cream away as our freezer door was jamming up so badly that using my leg to push it close wasn't working. I can't remember the flavor we gave away, but I can tell you the remainder 4 quarts was better after a week than anything I can buy locally. A true shame because supporting the local business is my priority but the local shop in Point Dume is beyond mediocre lately. This ice cream is way better than Grom Italy, yes it was gelato but the ingredients were the stars not the sugar, and the same is true with Bacio di Latte. Best Pistachio ice cream outside of San Gimignano, Italy, amazing Hazelnut and next favorite is the Belgian chocolate. We just tasted Crema Torino and is like we just discovered our new sweet. I am so glad they have several locations around LA, and ultimately this business is going to be around because their ice creams are great and the service is excellent. Initially we dropped by the location on Sawtelle and the kid manning the shop was focused, polite and knowledgeable to entertain our curiosity as we had no idea about this ice cream.
