Back Street BBQ is a great place if you are looking for Korean BBQ and/or Hotpot in the Lower East Side of Milwaukee. They have plenty of seating so you can walk-in without a reservation. We got the hotpot and they had the standard appetizers which tasted decent and quite a few options of meat and vegetables to choose from. They also had some desert options which were alright but nothing too different from other chain hotpot restaurants. The broth flavors were good but a little thinner than what I am used to. Service was quick and efficient. Overall a good place to go to if you are craving hotpot or BBQ.

All-you-can-eat Korean BBQ + Hotpot combo (your whole table has to agree to do both!) For BBQ we got LOTS of bulgogi beef, ribeye, garlic shrimp, & chicken dumplings, we even tossed some of the hotpot meat on the grill For hotpot we did instant ramen, udon noodles, spicy beef, marinated beef, & chicken dumplings (SO good in the broth ). The spicy broth had the perfect kick! Also tried their chicken wings: just okay but worth a try. Overall, hotpot was a solid first-time experience 4/5 Still love Iron Age in IL more, but this spot definitely hit the spot. Heads up: sauce station costs extra, so we skipped that part ‍ & left with a bunch of the green tea candy they give you at the end! Super friendly staff who always come to change your grill & make the experience pleasant!

The service and seating was really good. They were fast and explained the soups. The meat options were good but I thought it was limited compared to other hotpot places in the suburbs. The soups could've had more options as well, it didn't seem that flavorful so had to use sauces to get the meat to taste better. Ambiance is nice and they have plenty of seating.

Had an awesome time doing Hot pot and Korean barbecue. Plenty of options and great service. Food came pretty fast and was fresh. They did a good job of switching out our grill when it got burnt. Well ventilated and the place was decorated really beautifully. We're gladly come back.

Such a cool place for hot pot and K-BBQ. Great service fast and friendly service! Very authentic decor and sauce station was A-1 they had everything! You did not have to wait long for the next round of meats/order. Must try!

Somewhat overwhelming, but in a good way? An all you can eat Korean BBQ and hotpot joint with no shortage of options to choose from, our night at Back Street BBQ was one I won't soon forget. The ambiance is cozy and the staff was incredible, anticipating our every need and keeping our grill and hot pot well-stocked. Makes for a fun night out with a group or could be a unique dining option for couples looking to try someplace new.

The hot pot is amazing. We've been here for bbq before as well. It's a lot of the same items so it's also good. I just personally don't like having to wait for everything to cook as hot pot is much faster. The sauce bar is great to be able to make things unique to your taste. Staff is extremely attentive and it's a great value for the price.

Are you turning one year closer to 30 and need somewhere to go to eat your existential crisis away? Then look no further, Back Street Korean BBQ and Hotpot is for you. The establishment just opened in March of 2024. I came with a humble party of 3. AMBIANCE: Back Street BBQ and Hotpot doesn't look like much from the outside. However, the inside is gorgeous. The interior design is very thoughtful and you're taken into a transformed space. The flames that line the seating area look so real. Their main entrance has a few corners you can pop off into to get that good selfie. There's music playing in the background but it's not overwhelmingly loud. On the day I came, the music was on point. SERVICE: My server for the day was Jacky. He made a gal feel special for her birthday. Our water cups were NEVER empty. He checked on our table so many times. We kept adding food and he didn't leave a single item off. He went over the menu for us and even stopped in and helped turn some of our meats over. Also, he was great about changing the grill before it got too smoky. FOOD: For the meats, everything is top notch. The meats aren't too fatty and the cuts are good. My personal favorite was the beef bulgogi. The only thing that has small portions is the seafood. Specifically, the mussels. If you like mussels, you should start with 2 orders because one order only has 3 mussels in it. The squid actually had pretty decent portions. The only thing my table didn't get a chance to try was the octopus For a price of $32/person for the Korean BBQ, you get a pretty sweet deal. Rice is included in that price!! And you have access to sauces and other sides like kimchi. I will definitely be back here to try the hot pot. Overall, this was a perfect place to ring in my 27th evolution around the Sun.

The guy working the counter was doing a great job and gave me a rib tip sample that was delicious. I ordered the rib dinner that comes with two sides for $20, unfortunately they were out of greens so Mac and beans would be my sides. I always say if you smell smoke/grill in the air outside it's most like going to be good and I smelled the grill as I walked up, not a wood smoke smell. My rib dinner looked good that was only 5 bones with a nice bark. The ribs were moist/tender fall odd the bone with a backyard grill flavor, not a wood smoke flavor. The rids were delicious and tasty with the seasoned rub. The beans were good but very sweet. The Mac and cheese was over cooked to mush, not Al dente and slightly creamy with a small cheese flavor topped with cheese. The Mac and cheese could have been seasoned better like the ribs but still good. Overall I had a great lunch and I like the grill flavor because most places use wood smoke so I like this style to break up bbq from time to time. I would definitely stop back for more of the menu.

They haven't been open long, so be patient as they work to get into a groove. I've had their brisket, pulled pork, rib tips, baby back ribs, chicken, and sausage and all have been delicious! I still want to try their smoked turkey and turkey leg, but their meats have been among the best BBQ I've had! The chicken, in particular far exceeded my expectations! Their sides are solid. I noticed an improvement in texture with the baked beans feom the first visit to most recent visit, but I liked the mac-n-cheese better on the first visit. It was creamier and better seasoned the first time. Their creamy Cole slaw and greens were other sides I enjoyed. The fries and potato salad were good, but didn't stand out to me. They did not have cornbread on the menu. You can order sandwiches, dinners, or 2 and 3-meat combos. Important things to note: 1. They have a dining room. 2. They will put sauce on most, if not all, of their smoked meats, so if you want no sauce or sauce on the side, then tell them when you order. I am a smoked BBQ purist. I want to taste the rub and their smoking method. Their sauce is good, but their meats are great and don't need sauce. 3. They don't have a website, and it's not easy to find their menu on their Facebook page. 4. They are open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. 5. They accept cash and cards. Definitely check this place out because their BBQ is really good! I will be back!

I read…read moregood things about the brisket here and found it inside Redbar and was able to grab a seat at the bar. I ordered a beer and decided on Brisket and added a Sausage for 6 bucks. I started cutting into the brisket and was immediately turned off. This was like cutting into a piece of beef jerky. It was try and tough and I shouldn't have even put it in my mouth, but I reluctantly did! Oh wait, this isn't that forum in that adult magazine.... But Yuck Yuck Yuck to that dry meat. Luckily, there was a LOT of brisket so I fished around and cut a piece from the other end and wow... BUTTER! This was some of the juiciest brisket I've had. The fat rendered nicely and it was still meaty. SOOOO good. Yes, this good part was connected to the bad part. The $6 add on for the sausage was pretty good as well, as was the side of Mac n Cheese. With the add on, it's probably a shareable plate for most people, including me these days. Parking is limited as it's kind of in a neighborhood, and the Redbar itself has a locals, dive-bar vibe, which isn't a bad thing. Just something you should know! Cheap beers though!

With only a handful of tables to sit at, we waited a few minutes until a party left. Menus were dropped off promptly with instructions to order drinks & food at the bar. We decided to share the French Onion Dip as an app. Chips were delicious, while the dip had a good, familiar taste. I ordered the smoked sausage platter for my meal. The sausage was spicy & had a wonderful snap. The Mac & cheese flavor was good but had a bit of a gritty consistency. The house pickles were a great palate cleanser. Great spot to enjoy a drink & eat! Will be back to try other offerings.

Well I'm definitely doing the rib tips but it was too early because they just went on the grill, see my pictures so I would have to stop back later in the day. 3 hours went by so I went back and asked if he still had some rib tips left and he said yes so I'm down with that. He is there Tuesday to Saturday 10:30 to 4pm he says. The rib tips looked amazing on the grill and I took a picture so you could see the before and after pictures of the cooked rib rips. I ordered the meat only for $10 because the sides didn't interest at all and did my car smell so good so I pulled over because I couldn't wait to try them. The rib tips had a nice looking bark that was seasoned nicely and tasty I thought. The rib meat had that little chew that I like because I don't like the mush fall off the bone meat. The rib tips were meaty and not all cartilage with most of the meat chopped off like some places. The meat was very tasty with that bark and a deep grilled flavor that I really liked, like a backyard bbq. I really like that he uses charcoal to cook his food because it's so hard to find places that cook with charcoal anymore and he seems like a like a really nice guy and he let me take my pictures which helps his business. I didn't even use the bbq sauce because the meat stands on its own by the way. There is no bbq in the immediate area that I can think of so this is a nice addition to the neighborhood if your looking for some tasty rib tips here you go. I would definitely go back for some rib tips again because as much as I like ribs I do like doing tips from time to time.
