"Back to the best".... not so much ! We stopped in for a quick lunch , they said all they had were tri tip sandwiches . They should of called them sliders ... They were small biscuit sized sandwiches with a stale limp dill pickle on the side and a dixie cup size of potato salad on the side , 2 drinks a water bottle and a small soda ... For $25.00 !!! Wtf ??? What a rip off . The tri tip had a good flavor , the potato salad was some what grainy , it was just too small of portions for 25 bucks . Just not worth it ! We had gotten it to go and it was packaged in styrofoam so I didn't see the sandwiches until we got about 30 miles away in the mountains.... And was shocked when I saw the small slider size ! I felt cheated at best , not back to the best, more like worse than the rest ! read more

Phenomenal sandwiches with great side choices. Served by really nice people. My Reuben was superb, all the way to the home made mustard and super lean corned beef. Clam chowder also really good. Top this all off with their famous Ruthie's cookie and you have a meal to remember. No inside dining right now but nice road side picnic bench. Of course it's not Philz Coffee or whatever cool indie spot you remember from SF or wherever. It's a nice local coffee place with not a lot of frills. Coffee's fully caffeinated, the pastries are ok and it has a cool small town vibe. I'll come here every time before setting foot inside a starbucks. read more

The coffee is consistently great. I use the driveup window at least once per month. I bought a sandwich, I love her recipe of putting green chili's on her sandwich buy the sandwich was terrible small and hardly any roast beef and frankly there was hardly any meat and the quality was poor. Conversely her potato salad is award winning. Then..I stopped for coffee we bought 2 orange chocolate chip scones that were without doubt the worst iv ever had. Very cute little stop in Reedsport on our journey along the coast. The folks there were soooo friendly and sweet. Sad that we missed the smoked salmon (they had run out for the day), I'll bet it is delicious! If you like strong coffee, recommend getting extra shots of espresso! read more

I had a two star experience, but because this place is so charming and the menu is unique, I will go by here again. The girl at the drive-through window was super rude. Every question I asked felt like I was interrupting something inside, and it was empty. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. I was disappointed because I was really hoping they made a sandwich with their smoked salmon which I've been craving all week. No salmon sandwiches. The pulled pork was good but it was doused in a bunch of boring barbecue sauce in a piece of soft white roll. The way it was written on the board, it was to include melted cheese and coleslaw inside. I didn't say anything because I had to get to the airport on time and this is why I was using the drive-through. For the drive home from Bandon this is our favorite stop for coffee. The iced vanilla latte is really quite good. I haven't found anywhere else that serves such a delicious, creamy vanilla & coffee blend. This needs to open in Portland. The prices are extremely cheap. 20oz iced vanilla latte & 16oz americano was just $4.75! That's a steal. If Reedsport wasn't so far away for me I'd be here everyday. read more

We ordered two hot sandwiches, both of which were served to us microwaved. My teriyaki chicken sandwich had a sad piece of lettuce, barely any mayonnaise, and so much almost stale bread that my mouth felt parched with every bite. The only good thing I found about this place was the cute, vintage decor and convenient location. Decor and location is not enough, though, to make up for dry microwaved chicken. read more

A cute little cafe with very good soup and sandwiches at a great price. We fed two hungry teens and two parents for $30 including tip. There were a few locals who stopped by also which speaks a lot for the food. Definitely would come here again if we pass through Reedsport. read more

Didn't have the best of experiences here due to the impatient and rude attitude of the drive through window worker, but the company reached out after my initial review to apologize on behalf of the worker and to let me know they've worked hard to build a welcoming environment, and her attitude was not reflective of their business. I have to say I must have been pretty angry when I wrote my initial review, as it was pretty over the top compared to what I usually write. I think it's because my mother in law is the sweetest old lady I know, and watching her treated that way unleashed my overprotective side! Either way, I appreciate the company taking the time to reach out to me, especially after such a scathing review. We will give them another try the next time we are in town. read more

stopped by this place while hitchhiking through coastal. I can speak to the coffee and the baked goods: I ordered a brownie and a small Americano. the Americano only cost me 1.50 and it was delicious! the espresso is surprisingly good for a small independent coffee shop. the brownie was tasty, also! the inside is decorated like a classic small town American home with classic memorabilia from the 1950s. definitely worth your visit and support! read more

Stopped here for some cookies (which are always great no complaints there) and some chowder to go, and after waiting 20 minutes for the girl to microwave our soup, we finally got it (with plastic wrap on top due to no lids?! On soup???) and it was still ice cold. 30 minute wait for mediocre STILL room temp chowder. Disappointing. The girl said she was new. Clearly needs more training. We picked up lunch here today for the first time since being in the area. It was all great! LOVED my Italian Salami sandwich so much A++++ Wanted another one for dinner! The clam chowder was very fresh and fantastic. My husband loved his Pulled Pork sandwich and the homemade beef jerky too! The atmosphere and comfort of the restaurant was so inviting. I can only drink decaf and maybe that's the problem. This was easily the worst coffee I have ever tasted in my life and I have had some awful coffee. It was so bad that I took a few sips, pulled over, and tossed it into a trash can. The people are friendly here and the little store is beautiful. I had just rolled into town and figured I'd give this place a try, and despite it being just a few minutes before closing, Sierra welcomed me in. I tried a piece of the smoked tuna, which was great, and an Americano just the way I like it (with butter). I'm really glad I stopped in! read more

We always try and support local coffee while travelling if a coffee shop other than Starbucks is around. My hubby ordered the coffee and it was quite good. My kids loved the Vanilla Steamer and Hot Chocolate. I got an Americano and that is why I'm doing a 4 star rating. It was a tad too watery for me, as I prefer a bold, rich taste. The food there was great as well and they put espresso beans in my Americano and my hubbys coffee, which added a little something to the drinks. The staff was very friendly and nice. read more

Initially planned on stopping at Jitterbug N Java but they were closed. Stopped here instead. Good sandwiches, not great but good. Baked beans excellent. Coffee and Chai tea excellent. Jerky very good. Best part was the decor,ambience and service(very nice young girl-didn't catch her name). My husband and I were the only patrons inside the small cafe but saw many cars go through the drive through for coffee. Worth the stop. read more

Ruthie's Smokehouse/Deli/Coffee House was one of our Top Ten finds this trip (our third 16-day trek through Oregon in three years.) Her shop is charming and well (and thoughtfully) appointed - full of atmosphere and her personality. We were stocking up for a picnic dinner we planned to have later that day and oh the stuff she provides! Culinary wonders. We had one of the best BBQ-ed Pulled Pork sandwiches that we have ever encountered - ever - and we know pulled pork - seeking it out at every possible turn - travelling hours through the Carolinas to try new ones. In fact it was the word "smokehouse" on the front of her shop that caused us to poke our heads in Ruthie's in the first place. Her baked beans were also world class. Why is it that baked beans are so variable? Ruthie has created one of the best recipes we have eaten. (I want it!!) Her green pea/bacon/watercress salad was lovely as was her cole slaw, again, it is so difficult to find these things so well done anywhere. And her Asian Chicken salad was nothing but moreish. We also came away with some of her smoked salmon and it was one of the best salmon dishes I have ever eaten. Hands down - the most flavorful fish in Oregon. And its consistency, the texture of the fish, was perfect. Hearty. Substantial. Ruthie's baked goods were top rung as well. Her plain shortbread was anything but and her chai shortbread was fine. Her breakfast cookie was a meal in and of itself. It's rare that we happen upon someone with this much talent - Ruthie is a smoke-master and she must be given all the plaques and awards that Oregon can bestow upon her. Or skip the folderol and just have some more of her pulled pork and smoked salmon and lovely baked goods. I didn't even mention her heavenly teriyaki beef jerky. A dream come true! GO! We are still salivating over this stuff back in Santa Monica, CA. (Isn't travel fun?) read more

They have a young girl in there that does not know how to make espresso drinks. If you love them like I do, that's a huge dissappointment. I know everyone has to learn, but the owner needs to take responsibility to properly train her employees. Coffees like I had today should not be what's put out to customers. Plus, their prices are steep to add insult to injury. read more
