This place has been on my radar for quite a while. I finally had the opportunity to give it a try. I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. First off the decor is really cool and kind of reminds me of an Austin style restaurant. We were greeted immediately with a welcoming smile and felt right at home. Our server Eric was awesome and very informative about recommendations. We started off with the beer twists with beer cheese that tasted great. For our entree we tried their peperoni and mushroom pizza. We were not expecting the pizza to be that good so needless to say we were very pleased. Been coming to this spot since it opened. Staff is always friendly. Restaurant is kept very clean. They were nice enough to let our sleepy pup inside since it was a bit hot out so that was a big plus. They have alot to choose from on the menu it's not just beer, they have mimosas and frozen cocktails as well. Food menu also has a variety of options. The focaccia is a favorite! read more

Got a flight. All of the beers I tried were good! With their special Rio de Latte one of the best coffe beers I've had. Super friendly and attentive service in very much a brewery envrionment. Sat inside on a weekday and it was pretty laid back with some easy background noise. They went above and beyond with finding me some cans to take away! Wow! We just happened to Google restaurants in the area and this came up. We chose it because it was close and we were starving. What a TREAT!! Whew! The joy this restaurant brought to our spirits and bellies!! The service was welcoming and fun from the time we walked in until we left. Andy was our server and Eric backed him up and they gave the best food and drink suggestions and made us feel like family. The food was amazing! We ordered the Chipotle Adobe pizza and subbed the pepperoni and Italian sausage with chicken (we don't eat pork) and the limited flavor of honey buffalo lemon pepper and buffalo wings. The way we left with food babies. I wished I had taken a picture BUT we were so hungry as soon as they set the food, we dug in. I have food allergies so it was comforting to know the kitchen was aware of their seasonings and all so I was able to still get great food and not risk being ill. The restaurant is fun and invites family. It's definitely a place where you can go with family or hang with friends. It's not a large location but I think it helps with the comforting feel. We don't live in San Antonio but we WILL be back every time we visit. read more

This is a cool place to chill and chit chat with friends while munching on food and drinking beer. Surprisingly, they do have a "brunch" menu on weekends, which incorporates breakfast ingredients into their pizzas as well as more brunch-esque items on the menu. They have a small, but solid selection of beers on tap. I liked that you can access the beer menu via QR code, which also shows each beer's rating. (I find that this comes in handy when you don't know what beer to order or want to try something new.) I wouldn't consider the pizza crust authentic by any means and tastes more like a recipe I followed online at home. However, the sauce they use on the Margherita pizza is quite delicious. If they used a bit more sauce and spread it closer to the edge, I think that pizza would turn out a bit better. Service was prompt when we first arrived since there were only a handful of seated tables, but once it got busier and most tables filled up, it was a bit of a wait to flag down someone. read more

We dont drink, but we have been looking for delicious pizza. Welp, we found some really good pies here! I got the spicy hawaiian, add pepperoni and she got the pepperoni and gorganzola. Let me tell you, these are some awesome pizzas! We also got the spicy caesar salad which was exactly what it sounds like as well as an order of wings, which werent the star here (possibly due to taking them to go, they got all mushy). Neat brewery with a nice area indoors and plenty of TVs. Came for the pizza and was not disappointed. Tried three different pies, the chicken bacon ranch, formaggio bacon (sort of like a meat lovers) and the bacon cheeseburger. All three were great, the chicken bacon ranch was a white sauce pie and fantastic. The cheeseburger had pickles on top for a nice crunch. I had a nice experience at this local brewery. I came in and ordered a flight of beer and an 8 inch personal pizza. The pizza was good nothing spectacular but decently cheap. I'd say the queen beer was my favorite out of the six I tried. It seemed like there were two servers kind of tag teaming all of the tables. Service was nice and they were attentive. The place is in the smaller side but they have many tables and chairs to sit at. It seemed like they had some games around and there were flyers for things like trivia nights. I had been wanting to check this place out for a while so we decided to stop by for dinner on a Sunday evening. For being a Sunday evening, this place was pretty busy but, we were still able to find a table. Our server was quick and attentive. He was patient & informative when answering all of our beer questions. This being our first time at this brewery, we had quite a few questions in regards to the beer. Based on his recommendations we each chose a beer and enjoyed the beer we chose. There were three in my party & we chose to split some bruschetta & a pizza. Both had good flavor but the portion size was smaller than anticipated for three people. As we weren't super hungry, this worked out. However, if you are looking for a dinner sized portion, it would be better to split that between two instead of three. The one disappointing thing I've found about this brewery is that it isn't very pet friendly. This is because they serve food inside, which I quite understand. They do allow dogs on their "patio" but, the patio is just a few tables & chairs on the sidewalk out front. This is where I have to give them a 4/5. If they had a better outdoor area, I'd happily rate them 5/5. read more

I'm torn between here and Roadmap as which one is my favorite. Back Unturned has great food plus great beer. It does have a smaller interior, but there is usually plenty of parking around the area....OH! And they have a San Antonio Mural on the side of the building. I still can't decide and don't think I need to. Both are walking distance from each other! Sooo do yourself a favor and may a brew hopping day out of it followed by a walk on the riverwalk. The Spicy Hawaiian was very good too, though it was overshadowed by the gorgonzola pepperoni (no fault of its own). The Spicy Hawaiian can be a bit spicy - I thought it was just right though. Super tasty with a kick. The International Affair (Belgian Strong Golden Ale at 10.5% ABV) is a must if you like strong Belgians.
