This would be 5 stars if the server had been more on it. The food was good! Chorizo country skillet w home fries was good. The plate was completely empty when we left. Not a crumb on it! The other was flavorful but due to server error was less than fab. So huevos rancheros, over light, no dairy please and flour tortillas, not corn please. Server says absolutely! The piping hot plate arrives with cheese melted on it and sour cream. Ok, mistakes happen, no problem. The server takes it back, returning to say it was the last serving of pork chili verde. (Groan) I could have the vegetarian chili. Ok, seems easy. My plate returns with no dairy (yay) cold home fries and about 10 black beans as a garnish (!) the server brought a few more upon my request, yes a few. Maybe a quarter of a cup. By this time my flour tortillas were gummy and just gross from sitting so long w chili verde on them. I should have just ordered a whole new plate. I will say even though it was cold or room temperature at best, the flavor was great. The server didn't come back to check if things were better, although he was apologetic. He did take off the cost of the coffee (more of a brown liquid than a rich bold coffee). I guess I could have asked for a manager but by the end, I just wanted to be done with it all. So go, enjoy the fantastic grub. And don't waste money on the coffee read more

Solid place timo stop if you need fast quick service without the nasty attitude you get when rolling into a ihop. This place is reasonable priced and has huge portions so you can fill up after ski or back country hiking. Will stop at this place next time i drive through. Highly suggest getting the breakfast burrito. read more

One of the best breakfast places we've eaten at! My wife ordered the scratch made biscuits and sausage gravy. She loves biscuits and gravy and said these were among the best she's ever had. Large fluffy scratch made biscuits covered with a generous ladle full of thick pepper mill gravy. It was well seasoned and chock full of sausage bits. I had the breakfast street tacos which were made with scrambled eggs with chorizo, onion, green pepper, cheddar cheese and cilantro served in two warm corn tortillas. They were freshly prepared and very good as well. The country potatoes were seasoned and deep fried. Nothing spectacular but cooked well and perfectly seasoned. We also shared a blueberry pancake. It came out and was the same size as the dinner plate! The taste was also outstanding, lots of blueberries, and very thick but fluffy, over a quarter inch thick for sure! Didn't even need syrup....but the again, I always need syrup! Service was outstanding. We sat at the bar and enjoyed chatting with our server, Jessie. The place was packed and the food was flying out of the kitchen. Come early to get a seat without a wait. Prices were very reasonable as well. We left extremely satisfied with both the food and the pleasant experience. A perfect start to our day. read more

Cas waited on us, a friendly young woman who was attentive and kind. The portions were right; the eggs and fresh veggies were cooked perfectly. The service was prompt and it was a comfortable atmosphere with fair mix of locals and visitors on a Friday AM. The other servers were also friendly and there seemed a delightful absence of gossip/drama that can go on in cafés, especially in a college town. Wonderful breakfast. They had accidentally crossed our name of the list but got us in and served us promptly. We think our waiter was Steohanie? She was so pleasant and made great recommendation of "anything with green Chile or a biscuit." We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. We had a party of four and they said it would take 10 to 15 minutes for us to get in and we were in and seated in about 5 minutes. The waitress was super friendly and VERY, VERY good at her job. Always filling our drinks, etc. When we asked what her favorite was, she said the Nacho Breakfast, which my wife ordered and it was Great. Many times servers will say all is great, or something to that nature and will not give you their real favorite and we appreciate that she did. The Chicken Fried Steak was awesome and so was the pancakes. We were really surprised by how good this restaurant was. This place is really hopping; definitely worth a stop. Lots and lots of choices for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is served all day every day. This in Gunnison must be a tightly knit community; they have a batch of "Brunch Babes" T-shirts for sale. Aubrey, our waitress, was fantastic. In fact, everybody looked like they were working very hard to keep customers happy and full. We decided to split a teriyaki chicken wrap. It looked beautiful, so we dug in. To my surprise, the chicken was incredibly dry. I tasted neither the teriyaki sauce that it was grilled in, nor the balsamic vinegar that was supposed to be included. Also, having all the meat on one side and all greens on the other side of a wrap does not work. It is better to wrap the lettuce around the meat section to get a complete bite. Even though I was disappointed with the dry chicken, everything else was terrific. I will undoubtedly stop there again some day. read more

I don't know how better to describe this place other than to say if you don't love this place..you have bigger issues that you should deal with..we stopped in here on a Sunday morning after a day in the Black Canyon. being that it was Sunday we expected to have a wait, but the reviews were sooo good we decided that we would tough it out. there was quite a crowd outside waiting to be seated so we were astonished when told the wait was about 15mins, hell, I'm from NY..I don't even consider that a wait..any who, I think that what makes this place so popular besides the food is the service. As slammed as these folks were they were on top of their game the whole time we were seated. Our food arrived fresh and hot, our coffee cup was never empty and oh yeah, they have $5 mimosas on Sunday !!! Came for breakfast on their third day open and breakfast was amazing. We are so glad to have a breakfast place in Gunnison of this caliber. The four people in our party ordered a vegetarian eggs benedict, classic eggs benedict, biscuits and gravy, and huevos rancheros with ward winning green chili. This restaurant is in the downtown area of Gunnison. We waited outside to be seated, about 10 minutes. Once we got inside, we ordered right away and received waters. They put on a fresh pot of decaf and it arrived with the food. The coffee was great! The breakfast tacos were so good! They came with a side of delicious green Chile.
