Saturday morning 6:30 AM, we have to be at White Water Rafting check in at 8, and decided to try this place for breakfast. It was very obvious this was a local hangout for breakfast after a short time there. It was as a vet quaint setting from the decorations to the very friendly server. We both had the early bird special, 2eggs, choice of bread and protein and your drink. The food was great, just the perfect amount of food to hold one over for a morning of paddling. Went for breakfast. If you order something simple like eggs and bacon, you are safe. Don't go near anything Mexican food inspired. The Chile rellenos were like some terrible version you find in terrible food places like eastern Oklahoma. The star of the relleno should be the chile, not the breading. It was almost all this way overdone breading. Not good at all. The "green chili" was as spicy as milk and equally as flavorful. My brother said the breakfast burrito was terrible. I saw it, and it did not look appetizing. Some of the "green chili" drizzled on top like an afterthought. Dry and uninspired. My son enjoyed his simple plate of bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast, but those who ordered the Mexican food inspired dishes were majorly disappointed. As far as service, we waited forever to order. Our drinks were constantly empty. The server was very polite but things like missing items, missing silverware, empty coffees and waters starts to add up to a negative experience. Came on a bad day. Waited to be seated (normal). Our drinks were ordered and delivered. Then we waited - and waited - and waited. No food - no communication about there being a delay. After 40 minutes we gave up and we asked to get our check to have them say the food is finally ready. It seems that a cook walked out mid shift. Unfortunate but it happens. HOWEVER this is one of the only breakfast spots in town where you will actually sit down and have a server and these people bused their A**!!!! Turkey bacon avocado - the turkey looked like it was pulled out of a grocery store pack. Donut was OLD and tasted as such. Hamburger was good but nothing to write home about. I have been to many diners. This place was not the best. Food was not good. Potatoes tasted like the onion rings they cooked in the grease. I ordered an omelette. Came like scrambled eggs with some cold, what used to be melted cheese. My friend had a skillet, said it was not good. Coffee cups were chipped in the rim of the cup where you drink. I have chips on a few of my mugs. But they are not where I put my mouth. I'll not be going back. Go to Jan's they are amazing. We even got a free waffle for waiting for our food. read more

Great place for some grub! I often chase green chili for breakfast and Roosters Crow didn't disappoint. My breakfast burrito portion was large, service was acceptable and kind, prices reasonable, and we were able to sit outside to stare at the wonderful mountains. (Winter you won't be sitting outside of course.) Ample parking when we arrived and we only had to wait for a little bit. I would always expect to wait a bit, breakfast time on the weekend picks up fast. Worth a stop if you are looking for some food and you are on the main drag. As a biscuits and gravy connisour, it was naturally an opportunity to partake. It was a mistake. While the biscuits were goodly, the gravy lacked everything that makes a white country sausage gravy palatable. Honestly, it tasted like cream of mushroom soup sparsely laced with canned sausage bits. Perhaps the gravy was from a can. It was not good. I couldn't finish it. Each bite made me cringe a little bit more. Each bite made my pallet awash with thick lukewarm condensed soup-esque mush with porkish flavor. Companion got a vegetarian omelet and enjoyed it. Excellent breakfast burritos and HOT, delicious coffee for our trip home to Denver. I called ahead of time to order food and they were bustling busy with other dine-in customers socially distanced big time. Parking lot was roped off to allow outdoor tables to be set up. Masks and gloves on the servers. There is no reception desk, so upon arrival with our obligatory masks on, we walked in the front door and were told we had to wait outside. For a To-Go order. Huh. Okay. We wanted our travel mugs filled but they wouldn't touch them. They brought out a coffee pot and filled them while we stood outside. Very awkward but it worked. Nowhere to set things down. Nowhere to sit while waiting. Had to sign our credit card receipt on the vertical glass windows. This was not thought out very well by the owner. Excellent !!! Very relaxed environment. What a wonderful breakfast. Love this place. My husband enjoyed a massive pancake which was excellent, hash browns and bacon. I enjoyed the veggie three egg omelette which was the size of my plate, delicious biscuit and hash browns with caramelized onions. Their menu has many choices. Also the prices were great! The waitress and staff was overall very rude and there is no hostess, multiple staff members looked at us and didn't greet us and lacked overall customer service. We were looking for a solid, non-pretentious breakfast prior to our whitewater rafting trip, and Roosters Crow did the job well. Had the good local diner feel. Most of our group opted for skillet breakfasts, and all were well received. I'll give particular props to the hash browns -- those are so often disappointing, and these were crispy on the outside, not mushy. Reasonable prices, great service.
