Would rate a 3.5, but not a 4. Portion sizes are generous. We shared the feast w/extra pulled pork because they were out of smoked sausage. The brisket was pretty good with both wet and dry sides. Should've been trimmed more for serving/presentation. The pulled pork had a good smoky flavor but had a good amount of dry portions in it. Ribs and smoked chicken came out very overcooked. Edible but not fully enjoyable. Bbq sauce wasn't bad, not too sweet and not too spicy. Overall, bbq wise it felt very one dimensional. Like everything was smoked together, at the same time and not treated with love or with quality wood being used. The ribs and chicken should've been pulled off the smoker at least an hour sooner than they were to retain moisture and not get burnt. The Mac and cheese was good. The baked beans came out scalding hot. They were just okay, my wife said something about them was a bit off and I agree, kind of bitter. The corn muffins were really good!

This place is the real deal! Excellent barbecue. Delicious sides. Wanted to try everything, so ordered the smokehouse feast. Very large portion. More than enough for two plus leftovers. Brisket and pulled pork were our favorites. Sausage was also very tasty.

Excellent BBQ! We had the Smokehouse Platter which had A LOT of everything. Brought home enough for another meal.

First, about a 10-15 min detour from 95, free parking, cute little area with restaurants and a hiking trail. Restaurant is beautiful. Staff are efficient and friendly. Made great recs. Food is fairly priced and most importantly delicious! The owners are at the restaurant, the chef Ed, who's also from Philly! Came out to speak to us. His wife Yalem is beautiful and brought us to our table. We would highly recommend to anyone! I'm going to have to come back because they sold out of the peach crisp :(

They have a big space though there are also a lot of chairs and tables around. Food was good. The brisket was tender. Options for sides include mac & cheese, collard greens, string beans, broccoli, Spanish rice, potatoes au gratin, baked beans, coleslaw, fruit salad, corn bread, yams, french fries, etc. The coleslaw and baked beans were also good. For desserts, we enjoyed the bread pudding and peach cobbler. Would have given this place a 4/5 for food but service was really bad. Food took a long time to be served. This we understood because it was really a busy day. Because the cloth napkins smelled like rancid oil, we just asked for paper napkins. This took ~30 minutes before we got some. We also asked for some condiment. Since no one was checking on our table, we had to stand up and approach one of the staff to follow up on this, not once but twice but some vinegar never came. Though our server Gracie acknowledged and apologized for the bad service, service was still crappy and disappointing.

Cons: - dry and tasteless whole pig (pulled pork) - numerous items were sold out (turkey, burnt ends, and the peach glazed burnt ends) within 2.5 hours of opening, yet they remained on the digital menu screen. - tight parking spaces. If you have a full size truck or suv, you might have a tough time. Recommendations: - increase the quantity of specialty items made on a given day - the sauces were meh. - update the menu to reflect what is currently available. We waited in line 15 minutes and had everything picked out to order. When we got to the counter to order, that is when we were notified what was sold out. This delays the line because all patrons then have to look and decide on what to get instead.

This restaurant space has been here a while, under various guises. Now it houses Leland Smoke House, a worthy addition to the ever-expanding commercial sprawl along the I-17 corridor. Walking in, you are immediately assailed by the delectable smell of smoked meats. It's a wide, cavernous space with plenty of seating, both tables and booths. Order at the counter, pay, then grab your drink and find a table. You get a place card holder with a name of a famous cowboy, to help the make sure the right food is delivered to the correct party. Tables are equipped with napkins and a carousel of sauces with a helpful description of each one. There's sure to be one for just about every palate. The drink nook has a variety of sodas and fruit drinks, and of course there are large containers of iced tea, both sweet and unsweet. This iced tea would make any Southern grandmother proud. Delicious on a warm February afternoon. Food favorites: the pulled pork; smoked chicken (dark meat); green beans and collards. My husband and mom liked the hushpuppies, which are served with a cinnamon honey butter dipping sauce. Restrooms are spacious and spotless, and the staff are personable and efficient. My only complaint was the music - the setting seemed perfect for country western, honky tonk, or bluegrass, but mediocre rock music came blasting out of the speakers. A missed opportunity to create real ambiance. Still, they have outdoor seating, so that's where I'll be next time I find myself at Leland Smoke House on a pleasant, sunny afternoon.
