Backstreets Grill is one of my favorite places in the area. You have the option to dine inside, at the bar or outside patio. The outside patio is my favorite and is very spacious. Stopped by for lunch and the place was hopping! Two diners- both ordered the Kale salad. One with blackened salmon. The other sesame crusted tuna, med rare. One order of fries and an order of pub chips. LOVE the fries- not quite shoestrings. Golden brown on outside and soft on inside. Pub chips were crispy without being greasy or overcooked. Both agreed the salmon and tuna were deliciously cooked. The salad greens- the kale was in bite sized pieces but need to be massaged to tenderized. Too tough. Overall- nice meal. read more

Place is really nice. I sat outside and got a beer and some fish and salad. It's all solid. Nice place to invite the entire family too or even a date night. Parking was across the street down a block so no issues with parking. read more

Food was an A- We had a large party; food took a while to come out but everything was hot and worth the wait. Marco was our waiter he tended our table by himself for a party of 23! Got everything correct the first time! He even reminded us that the gratuity was included so we didn't double tip! Big shout to Marco! read more

The service was great and we were seated outside which we really enjoyed. The food was average the chicken was a bit tough and the bison burger was ok, the asparagus was a bit too overcooked and not warm. We would come back because we loved sitting outside to eat. read more

This was a recommendation by my daughter a few nights ago, and boy it didn't disappoint!! Parking is in the back and side of the streets. Pretty nice size restaurant with plenty of seating and waitresses. Our waitress could have been a bit more attentive, bathrooms clean. They do have high back tables and a bar, we chose a regularl table for 4 adults, kinda small. I recommend with a group just ask for a larger table. Our drinks came out from the bar, everything was nicely made. All the food came out in a timely manner, seasoned well. I had mussels, ribs, tomato soup, asparagus and sweet potatoes. I really enjoyed my meal, very tasty and seasoned well. The ribs were delicious!! Everyone was pleased with the serving size and the food. Overall great experience on a Sunday night, and yes I would definitely go again!! The ambience was also really nice. read more

*****NO ALLERGY ACCOMMODATIONS **** This restaurant was horrible! Just to inform you if you have any sort of shellfish allergies, they make absolutely no accommodations. Even though I placed an order for a cheese quesadilla at the same time as everybody else at the table, I didn't get mine until almost an 45 later. While everyone at the table was served all together. It was absolutely ridiculous. We did not receive any sort of accommodation for their mistakes and or discount or removing it from the bill altogether. The waitress was rude and was shaking her head at me while asking for an update on when my food would come out....and to not offer ANY discount was ridiculous. I just got it in a box to go because everyone was done eating 20 min prior to receiving my food. DO NOT recommend at all. read more

Yes, yes, and yes. I have visited drying lunch during the week and on a weekend, and the service was great both times. I love the validity of the menu while still being short and not overwhelming. If you like outdoor seating, they have it down to a science. read more

Amazing find when I was exploring downtown Columbia, South Carolina after my son's graduation from Fort Jackson. I hadn't eaten yet and it was 2 pm. I loved the casual vibe in the bar and the music that was playing ( lots of alternative rock bands from the 90s Counting Crows, Matchbox 20 etc) I loved that as a party of one I was given a comfortable, elevated booth and service was attentive and friendly. I ordered a filet mignon, medium rare with asparagus and a loaded baked potato! The steak was literally perfect- beautifully cooked and rested and so flavorful. It was just enough to fill me up. I loved the roasted asparagus too. Minus a star for the cold, baked potato, but I didn't really need the carbs anyway... read more

We had the opportunity to go to Backstreet Grill and I was thoroughly impressed. I had the special which was salmon cakes with roasted broccoli and the presentation was absolutely fabulous and the food tasted even better. My sweetheart had the barbecue chicken pizza on cauliflower bread and it couldn't have been better for him. He enjoys very thin and crispy pizza crust and the cauliflower breading fit the bill. We definitely recommend this location as the staff was attentive and timely. Pricing is reasonable but not cheap. Very happy with our bill as it was reasonable. We also took dessert to go which was the strawberry cheesecake and brownie à la mode. The brownie was absolutely huge. Well worth the calories. read more

We have been here quite a few times. This time we brought the pup and enjoyed the patio ! Great service and everyone was so kind to our furry one ! Even brought him his own water bowl and milkbone! What do we know so far about Backstreets Grill ? Well for starters they are in the old location where Dianne's used to be on Devine St. . So they have plenty of room during a pandemic, I sat at the bar order a bread bowl which was an adult version of cheesy hamburger helper called fillet of beef. It tasted delicious and was extremely filling but not filling enough for chocolate cake for desert. Would definitely come back and tackle a few more menu items. read more

Just passing through the area on a road trip and decided to try this place, although staff friendly and efficient, food was fair, but the biggest turn off was the fruit flies flying around the bar and in my drink, followed by a quick step by the bartender to kill a cockroach! I'm gluten free (celiac) and I've been here twice for dinner. The first time I got the GF pizza, second time I got a burger (without the bun. I don't care for Gf buns). Both times the bartender/waitress took time to ensure me about the menu, answered all my questions and double checked with kitchen when they weren't sure. The GF pizza was really good! Even my gluten husband enjoyed it. I felt safe here both times and didn't get sick. Both times the place was lively and busy but the service was great. Good place to watch a ballgame. read more

The food here is more on the pricy side. We got the Bruschetta pizza and it was enough for the both of us, but I was considering getting a burger. What turned me off was a 6oz burger alone was $10.50, and adding cheese and onions was $0.75 each. The pizza itself was good, a little bit on the wet side, and they were sparing with the tomato's. The crust was also kind of flat and hard at the top. Otherwise, the meal was decent and the atmosphere was calm. It wouldn't be my first pick to return to, but if someone suggested it I wouldn't say no. read more
