We live FT in The Sea Ranch so Harbor House is an easy drive and it's like having our own neighborhood Michelin star resort and dining in the hood. Lunch was as good as I remember it. We started with a raw smoked trout stater and it was gently smoked which kept the trout firm and with only a hint of the curing process. Their freshly made bread followed and that kelp churned butter is to die for. The next two courses were a poached black cod in a home made miso sauce that was a lesson in how to ferment properly ! Delicious. The pork loin followed and I must admit it was a little tough - perhaps not rested enough post cooking or just a little over. The dish had teenie tiny wasabi leaves among all the veggies and greens on the plate and they really imparted a lovely natural zinginess...desert was some sort of a custard with a thin meringue and some other wonderfulness that made the whole thing refreshing but not too sweet and a lovely end to the meal. It was our 34th anniversary and we had made it a point to mention it when we made the reservation but they didn't even stick a candle in the dessert they gave us as a part of the meal...which seemed a missed opportunity IMHO. Just saying, we eat out quite a bit and most of the time not to celebrate anything special so it's nice when an establishment makes mention and notice of it in some way... We had the wine pairings ($100/each) along with the five course lunch ($150/each) and they do a nice job with the pairings, mainly featuring nice Italian varietals and of course some local favorites from the area - like Baxter (Pinot) and a dessert style wine that was very nice and not something I would have normally thought to order on my own. The grounds are as beautiful as always and now that spring has sprung and the flowers on their grounds are in full bloom and the beach area is starting to take on that summer sheen - it was a stellar afternoon once again. We will be keeping this place on regular rotation for sure and we look forward to our next meal later this summer when the tomatoes are ripe and the fruits and vegetables are in all their glory ! Highly recommend.

Food wasn't up to the standard I would expect from a 2 Star Michelin restaurant. Maybe lunch is different? We have been to many Michelin starred restaurants and this just didn't cut it. The food was beautifully prepared but extremely bland and not very exciting, except for the desert. We informed them in advance that this was our anniversary. I would think that this level of restaurant would do something special. We have been to restaurants that presented a personalized menu, greetings on plates, after dinner cordials, etc.

It's true that one could purchase a serviceable used car for what it costs to dine for two when including basic wine pairings. If dropping $2k on dinner and wine seems like an absurd or rapacious proposition, SingleThread certainly isn't for you. If on the other hand it seems like a rounding error or a perfectly reasonable leisure tariff, you're probably going to love every last minute of it. Because the meal was so elaborate, I won't go into detail other than to say it was brilliant. Out of the dozens (literally) of dishes we sampled, only one was poor; it had clearly been over-salted by accident. Otherwise, every moment of the evening was pure, flawless bliss. One thing that I could be persuaded to agree with is that the overall volume of food is a tad too much. They could easily do with one less savory dish and the elimination of the second round of desserts. As it stands, I walked out feeling somewhat uncomfortably full. First world problems though, right? All things considered, SingleThread is a grand slam home run in nearly every respect. And that includes the warm and highly attentive service, the lovely interior architecture, and the welcoming rooftop garden. I will not hesitate to recommend this amazing culinary oasis to friends and family for a long time to come.

The restaurant is intimate and polished, but what stood out most to me was how elegant everything felt without ever becoming stiff or overly formal. It was refined, creative, and clearly very intentional, but still deeply enjoyable to eat. The meal opened with a wild chamomile milk punch that was floral, silky, and so refreshing. It set the tone right away. From there, each course felt carefully composed, with flavors that were layered, balanced, and often surprisingly memorable. The spiny lobster "roll" croustade was such a fun and delicious bite, with sweet lobster tucked into a crisp shell and a brain emulsion that added a rich briny depth. The venison tart was earthy and delicate, and serving it on antlers made the presentation feel dramatic and playful at the same time. The duck liver and key lime pie was one of the most unexpected combinations of the night, but it worked beautifully, rich and silky with just enough brightness to keep it lifted. Even the fermented rutabaga bread pudding with 100-year balsamic was intriguing in the best way, savory, gently funky, and deepened by that concentrated sweetness. I also loved how strong the seafood courses were. The amberjack with quince, shiso, pluot, peashell, and agave felt clean, delicate, and very precise, with each element bringing its own kind of freshness. The Miyagi oyster was bright and refreshing, with wasabi and passionfruit adding a lively kick. One of the most creative dishes of the night was the clam "chowder" custard, essentially a silky chawanmushi topped with clam chowder, caviar, white asparagus, and aged pork. It was luxurious, comforting, and so thoughtfully done. The 60-day dry-aged tuna belly rice bowl was another standout, rich and buttery, but balanced with passion fruit, peach, and citrus so it never felt heavy. The meat courses were just as memorable. The Wolfe Ranch quail was deeply savory and aromatic, with grilled rose and burnt citrus giving it a beautiful lift, and the tortellini brodo alongside it added warmth and a comforting depth that made the whole course feel especially complete. The Masami Ranch beef course brought so much dimension, from fermented pepper and carrot to charcuterie and a magnolia-smoked rib, with each bite feeling more savory and layered than the last. By the time dessert arrived, the kitchen still had not lost its momentum. The dessert presentation was beautiful and exceptional, and the final courses felt elegant, detailed, and fully in line with the rest of the meal. Nothing felt like an afterthought. Service throughout the evening was polished, attentive, and gracious, and the pacing gave each course room to shine. Enclos feels like a restaurant with a very clear point of view. Usually we like sitting at the bar to see the chefs do their thing, but this place is not like that at least the night we went to which was surprising cause Japanese establishments typically are cooking out in the open. They had a lot of different sakes which was really nice to see but no draft beer unless I missed it. They let you pick a cup for your sake which is so cute, I loved that. All their table wear was so beautiful. We got a fruity sake first and loved that one. The second one was the "goku" it was giving straight sake. I'd prolly stick to fruitier ones. The server was very kind and she was easy to talk to and provided great service. As for the food, I thought it was pretty okay! We ordered the omakase which was $75 per person and it was very filling. We had trout sashimi which had some bite texturally not my fave fish tbh. Potato Salad which a jammy egg omg I loved it but wondered how it'd taste if the egg was marinated. The mushroom soup was lemony and oniony it was pretty good. The karage could've been crispier imo and I wish the wasabi aoli was a lil different but it was still good. The robata was hella good my fave was the meatball one, I'm not a big fan of cartilage but that it very well cooked, and I appreciated the pile seasoning provided as well. The strawberry topped panna cotta was so good no notes. Overall, pretty good and I'd go again if I was in this area and order individual dishes especially the potato salad and panna cotta. Not really the vibe of an izakaya imo they also don't have ginger but def a nice Japanese restaurant with some twists.

The inn is located on a busy road, but traffic slows down in the evening. The rooms have a charming beachy feel and are on the smaller side, but that's exactly what we expected after reading reviews. We were only staying one night, so we booked the smallest room. If we return for a longer stay, we'd probably opt for a larger room. That said, if you're in Bodega Bay, hopefully you're spending most of your time exploring rather than sitting in your room! The rooms include mini fridges and a coffee station, and the lobby has a larger coffee and tea station as well as a microwave. Parking is located right outside your room, which makes loading and unloading easy. The location is also very convenient. It's within walking distance of a grocery store that has just about everything you might need, including a deli. The Birds Cafe is right across the street and serves coffee, delicious breakfasts, oysters, lobster rolls, and more - all with fantastic views. Our most recent experience was not great with newer employee (Gina). When we arrived on WED we were happy to get our keys to the Harbor House as it was our first time to stay in this house. We got into the house and we realized it smelled of gas. There was one burner that was taped off with do not use on the tape. It was obvious that the Inn was aware there was a problem, yet this was not taken care of properly prior to our arrival. We returned to the office to inform them with our concerns in the Harbor House. Gina let us know that she has had other guests with the same complaints but she said it had been recently serviced. She said if it made us feel better she could have the handyman come look at it again in the morning. She tried to reach the him, but there was no answer and she had to leave a message. Gina did assure us that the owners daughter had just stayed in the Harbor House with no complaints. We chose to stay the night and have the handyman check the stove in the morning. It was two days before the stove was checked so we were not able to use the heat or stove until Friday evening. The young man who worked on the stove let us know it was leaking gas because it was not fixed correctly. We also had some attitude from Gina when we tried to get 4 wash cloths and more coffee for the coffee maker. We also had to ask for toilet paper twice because we only had 2 spare rolls for 4 adults staying 5 nights (6 days). We should have been offered a discount for the 3 days we were not able to safely use the heater and stove due to the gas leak. We have decided that we will have to move on and find a new place to stay for our yearly vacation to Bodega Bay. I think things would have been handled differently had George or Steve been running the office that week. We are very lucky that the house did not blow up nor did we have poisoning due to the natural gas leak. Keeping all the windows open until it was properly serviced was difficult because it was so cold, but we are still here to share this story. Looking back on this we never should have stayed in the home but I am happy to be alive. We are just disappointed that our trip was not enjoyable and we paid extra to stay in the house when we would have had a better vacation just renting a room without these issues.

I had called ahead to check on the foot traffic and to determine the best time to get there. As they open at 11:30, after speaking with someone over the phone the week before, my wife and I determined the best time to get there was 12:30pm, they don't take reservations for parties of 2. We arrived, saw they already had a wait but were on the list by 12:30pm. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes. No problem. We received the buzzer from them and walked around the block and ended up two restaurants down the street around 12:50pm. At 1:09pm, the buzzer still hadn't gone off and my wife, who went in initially to put us on the list, went back in to check on the status of our table. At the host stand, she heard the manager tell a woman who clearly didn't have a reservation she would be sat in 3 minutes. After hearing that, my wife showed the manager the buzzer we had been given and asked, "So how much longer for us?" The manager replied "It may be another 10 minutes." We then watched them scramble to clear a table and immediately give the table to the woman who had arrived after us. Upon this disappointment we decided to leave because if they can't get something simple like seating guests respectfully right, I can only imagine what else they'll screw up. People don't remember what you do... They remember how you made them feel. As a hospitality professional, not only was this experience totally unavoidable but it left me feeling disrespected and not valued - as a customer; as a person. In being honest, I have to mention that, oddly enough, as I looked around during this disappointment I noticed that everyone seated and being rapidly seated were of one particular ethnic group. Everyone waiting was part of various minority groups which made this incident even more sickening - reinforcing our decision to not only choose to spend our money somewhere else on that day, but to never spend any money there... EVER. I was extremely excited to visit this place and to be shown this kind of treatment further proves that there are still some places that don't want minority dollars so much they simply don't care how they treat you. And unfortunately for them, I'm certainly sharing this experience with as many visitors to the city as I can letting them know "There a MANY fine places to eat in the city... but I'll tell you where NOT to go - unless you feel like being treated like a second-class citizen." Please check in with your personal values before choosing to support this place. Sotto Mare... you all really need to invest in some cultural sensitivity training. It's 2026. Highly disappointed.
