When we came there was a line out the door. There was one man making quick work of his espresso bar, brewed coffee, and ringing up all by himself. They sold some single origin coffee which I grabbed a bag of to bring home. I bought an ube caffe latte and a medium roast brewed coffee, both of which were fairly priced and were so good I didn't get a picture of either of them. The coffees were delicious and were a perfect wake me up before we made the long drive. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Best tasting cappuccino west of Maui! It's in this unassuming small stall, in a neighborhood where the locals live, so it's priced right, unlike the touristy coffee shops along Kaanapali. Best coffee on Maui. Tried a few different coffee shops on Maui and this was by far the best. I got an iced macadamia nut latte (probably 4 or 5 over the week) and it was amazing. Best iced latte i've ever had. The uncle working the front was so nice and made sure you liked your drink before you left. Sometimes the line was long but 1000% worth it. Will definitely be back next time I come to Maui. read more

Small location, but very efficient for a solo operation. Seating is outside only. If you're into coffee shop merchandise there's plenty to choose from. Nice smooth latte. On the mainland it's been rare to find many coffee shops in my travels to carry banana syrup. Many baristas have told me they don't like working with it. I'm not sure if banana syrup is more common in Hawaii, but it was nice to see it as an option. Before swinging over next door to Pao Bakery be sure to grab a coffee. It seems to be a common practice to go to both. read more

Generally, really love this place. There was always a long line and only one person taking orders and making drinks. But she was extremely kind, and the coffee was very tasty. My husband got the Maple wave iced coffee, and I got the coconut macadamia iced latte. Both were delicious! Very sweet so if you like sweet coffee, their specialty drinks are delicious. Otherwise, I probably would've gotten fewer pumps of syrup next time. It's a very cute little coffee shop with tons of knickknacks and things to purchase. It's also right across the street from this great little park so we would get our coffee and then walk across and put our feet in the water. So it's just overall a great location. read more

Ordered coffee then went next door to look for breakfast. The parking is limited so we walked from our condo. After we picked up our foods, we walked across the street to the park to enjoy the ocean. This place is manned by one woman for both barista and cashier. For a one person team, she is really quick and efficient. I do not see the full menu on the wall, however you can see other coffee flavors on here in Yelp. I must love this place because I came here twice whereas I did not go anywhere else twice. read more

They advertise Kona coffee here, and while it was good, I felt like it was missing a little of that distinct Kona flavor I was expecting. The barista was super friendly -- honestly, I got the impression he might even be the owner because of how warmly and genuinely he interacted with us. The place also sells a bunch of fun little souvenirs, which adds to the charm. I had an iced latte and my husband got a Breville latte. Amazing service! Great coffee! The line can get long though. The man working the counter was so incredibly nice and made sure after he made your drink that you tasted it before you left to guaranteed you loved your drink before you left. He was the only worker though so he only handled one order at a time. Cute little shop but can't get to shopping inside until after you ordered because of the line up there is no room. Again great coffee! Worth a long wait? Depends on how long for myself but it is probably the best coffee I had in the area. Hit tip* don't skip out on the bakery nextdoor to go with your coffee. This is the best coffee my husband and I have had on the island so far. We've been to a few other spots that we enjoyed, but the coffee is very smooth and has a delicious roast and even though they use Monin syrups as opposed to house-made (from what I could tell) the sweetness is perfect and the flavor of this drink was amazing. Highly recommend the Coconut Macaroon Latte. There's no seating inside, but it's right across the street from a gorgeous park so you can sip your latte and stare at the sea. Pretty good coffee! Bad Ass Coffee was close to where we were staying so we decided to stop by while we were waiting for some friends. There's a small parking lot on the side of building and we were able to find parking easily. The shop itself is easily seen from the road - you can't miss their sign! Once you get inside, it's not huge. There isn't inside seating so you'll grab your coffee and go. They do have a lot to purchase though. Besides beans, they also have lots of merchandise and souvenirs. They've got a simple espresso menu and don't forget to look to your right to see their signature/flavored drinks. I ended up getting just a regular iced latte and I enjoyed it. Heavy on the milk, though I'm sure that's something you can ask them to adjust. The coffee had a good flavor, not too bitter. Since we stopped by in the middle of the day, it wasn't too busy and we were able to be helped really quickly. We didn't get to return during this trip but our friends went back multiple times in the week! read more

ALika made our experience so wonderful! Walking in we got the great aroma of fresh coffee and it was so nice! They have a very nice variety of cute tshirts and of fun coffee products and mugs. They also sell the beans so you can make the great coffee at home! Cute little outdoor seating area and it is right across from the beach. All orders were taken, prepared, and delivered by a single person, who did a fantastic job. The drip coffee was absolutely terrible. Bitter and undrinkable, super disappointing after waiting in line 25 minutes and paying $5 for a drip coffee. As much as I hate to say it, Starbucks is better coffee and a much more efficient operation. Badasss has a 39 person line and only one person to work the register and make the drinks. It's insanely inefficient and most importantly just really bad tasting coffee. The poor lady working there had a great attitude and was working very hard so not her fault. DEFINITELY skip this tourist trap. read more

I bought some food right down the street and was looking for some coffee and found this cute little place. When we got there, there was already a line forming so we assumed it must be good. The wait took a while but it was okay because there was only one guy working and he was moving fast, I felt bad for him but hopefully this was only a one day thing. The place was cute and had a lot of souvenirs with the place name on it and the guy making the coffee was super nice and apologized about the wait. We ordered two iced coffees and they were pretty good. Not to sweet, not to bitter but still was a little strong. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely stop by and order another coffee. read more

Stopped by Bad Ass Coffee and had a fantastic experience! I tried the macadamia nut latte with oat milk, and it was absolutely delicious--smooth, nutty, and perfectly balanced. My fiancé ordered the iced matcha latte, which was also a hit. Both drinks were clearly made with care and attention to flavor. The barista, a very generous and upbeat gentleman, was incredibly welcoming and went out of his way to thank us for our business, which added a personal touch to the visit. The only downside was the wait time, which was about 20 minutes, but the quality of the drinks and service made it worth it. This place is conveniently located across the street from my favorite beach so that is why it got two stars from me. The rest of my experience there was more bad than bad ass. After receiving tea that wasn't brewed long enough and being talked to disrespectfully when I ordered, the woman with the 70s retro hair sprayed feathered do -called after me as I left to make a point of letting me know that my daughter had left the honey sitting on the counter rather than neatly tucked next to the drink stirs. I was at the doorway with one foot outside when she called, holding up the honey bottle, "you done with this". To which I replied, I'm not using it. If you are craving excellent coffee while you're in Maui, this is the place! For flavored coffee, I highly recommend Paradise Pecan (my new favorite), or Hula Pie. My husband prefers the rich, intense flavor of the 100% Kona or Maui varieties. The coffee tastes better because it's not bitter or acidic. There are some unique coffees available, so we relied on the helpful and knowledgeable barista to navigate the choices. This is not a sit-down type of place, but hey, it's Hawaii! Take your cup right outside where you have the beach and even a public playground! I'm not one for typical souvenirs, but with a name like Bad Ass, you can find gifts with a sense of humor! If you want to find Maui's best coffee look no further! We tried their black forrest iced coffee and dark roast of the day and absolutely LOVED both! My husband picked up a vanilla mac cigar. This is a pleasant coffee spot to stop in and get a decent latte. They sell whole bean kona and kona blends, so this might be a good place to stop in if you are looking to take some beans back to the mainland with you.
