I have always seen this donut place and always thought it was funny since that's my cats name. :-) I've always been tempted to stop here since it's on my way to work but I'm always running late, I never risk it but I finally stopped in today! I was surprised to find they were open at 4 am, I went in around 5:30 and they had a great selection. I was originally just going to get 6 donuts but, as my mother says, my eyes are always bigger than my stomach, so I got a dozen. I kept changing my mind and the lovely lady behind the counter was very patient. I decided to get an assortment of their classic donuts- glazed, sugar, chocolate, an old fashioned, sugar twist and a long John. Also noticed I got an extra donut! The donuts were sweet and soft, and the old fashioned had the crunchy edges. The store itself was clean and what you'd expect from a donut shop. They had a lot of drink options and sandwiches which I will be coming back try. Overall, I cannot believe it's taken me so long to stop in. I need to plan to leave for work earlier so I can stop in! Jack's is a family owned donut shop. Their service is top notch, and the daughter of the owner remembered me after just coming once! Donuts were my wife's pregnancy craving and having a service team that provides excellent service was a big part if the reason we came back. The other reason is because of how good these donuts are! If you're like me, I like a good old fashioned donut. They don't try to do any fancy shit because the best donuts are the classics! These donuts are good! Lots of choices. I had the regular glazed, it's not overly sweet and it has the perfect density. I also tried the blueberry old fashioned glazed. It's tasty with a slight hint of blueberry flavor. Friendly service. I will definitely be coming back! Give it a try if you're in the area. read more

We were so excited to try Jack's doughnuts, and the Littles were super excited as well. First and foremost, the owners are super sweet and so kind. That's what makes writing this review difficult. The donuts look amazing, but frankly, just don't taste that great. It's about $25 a dozen, which I think is pricey, but the actual donuts themselves are very heavy, and just not good. We ordered enough of a variety, so it's not just a particular donut, it was all of them. The glazed donuts or fairly bland, and the glaze itself ironically wasn't that sweet. The apple fritter was fairly bland as well. Each donut did not receive rave reviews. Normally, when we have all the kids together, treats disappear fairly quickly. There were donuts that were left over and never touched. That says it all. There are definitely better doughnut shops in and around Sacramento. I would encourage you to try those. read more

This place is the best place for donuts! The donuts are delectable and exactly as you want and hope them to be. The owners always give you a little something extra - maybe some donut holes or an extra donut. Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance. The shop is clean, warm, and inviting. I used to live near here and never went here enough. Needless to say, I haven't been here much since I moved away ages ago. I recently went back and it hadn't changed one bit. Jack's !!!!! Super happy to have found this almost hidden little spot, tucked in towards the end of northgate at north field rd, just before the Arden/Garden connection. They have a lot of donut goodies here. Sadly my goto spot had closed recently, but excited to have found this spot. They have alot to offer. All kinds of donuts they got the basics covered and more. Like a maple bacon bar! Then they even have some old fashioned donuts that have a glaze with flavor. The flavors are awesome and you can tell what they are soon as you bite into it. It's not every sweet and the flavor level is perfect imo. They offer cherry, orange and Banana. Then they have donut holes. Not just 1 kind but atleast 3 I have seen so far. The standard glazed kind then they went with a raspberry powdered and a cinnamon sugar one too. They stepped up on the donut hole game and we liked it. Also they have a lot of filled donuts with whipped cream. Apple fritters, crunchy donuts, blueberry donut and more. Ooooh, they do have a fresh strawberry and whipped cream stuffed glazed donut. Croissants, they come as is, or some with strawberry jam, and I even saw one day they had the strawberry and cream cheese kind. You can also get them with egg and cheese then you can also pick 1or 2 of the following meats. Bacon, sausage, ham and Turkey. The breakfast sandwich is awesome, I tried the Turkey and bacon so far and they both have been good and filling! The lady at the register was super helpful my 1st time. She told me what they got and the ones that go fast. I got alot to try them out with he family, not just myself lol. I wanna say its family owned cause she was calling back to momma to make the yummy sandwiches!! If you need to wash all that donut loving down, they serve hot and iced coffee, along with water, soda, juices, energy drinks, Milk and other items as well. A lot of options and I noticed a sign for breakfast sandwiches. I only got donuts though. The ones filled with whipped cream are extra special. Prices were reasonable too. Great service and comparable pricing to other donut shops. The ladies here are sweet and nice. The donuts are good. Hard to mess those up. They are quick and friendly. I usually go with the dozen and stay away from the premium donuts. Business location is great to get to. Close to my work. The interior is old and needs to be updated but no one goes there for the look. Would def be back and recommend this business to others looking for good donuts!!! read more

Not bad. The donuts were okay. My maple raised was as expected, but the cake donuts were a little dense and my daughter complained that her sugar donut tasted weird (she has never complained about a donut). The glazed donut holes had okay flavor but were a little tough. Maybe the frying oil needs to be changed or the temperature should be checked out to make sure it is hot enough? I don't know. Just thinking out loud. The coffee was pretty gross. I don't have high expectations for coffee in air pots, but I've had Peerless before and don't remember it tasting quite so burnt. I don't think this is the fault of the shop over how they brewed it, but maybe they put the wrong label on the pot as it definitely tasted more dark roast/French than a typical Colombian. At first, I got the cold shoulder because I wasn't a regular. That didn't discourage me from selecting. My first time I got the signature donuts with strawberries. Loved it. The second time I got classic donuts. Loved it the third time I was mad they had ran out of my favorites (signature donuts,mini cinnamon rolls, crumble fluff) Hint: come early for a better selection. I was really craving donuts while in the area of Jack's. A friend of mine went in with me she bought some marvelous selections of different donuts and rolls and then I can't think that fast so I Took my time and checked out the window we're behind set the most beautiful donuts twists and bars. I bought apple fritters maple twist chocolate doughnut and cinnamon rolls and my husband's eyes almost rolled to the back of his head when he first smelled them but especially when he first tried one. I wish it was closer to my house or maybe that would be dangerous but at least it's close to my best friends house so that'll be easy to stop by next time! Best doughnuts in town. My coworkers ask me to stop off and pick these up for them as they prefer these doughnuts to any others. They have a large variety. My coworkers love the doughnut holes. I tend to call the day before and special order in advance. You can get the holes plain, glazed, tossed in sugar, or tossed in cinnamon and sugar. You also have the option to have them filled with vanilla cream, raspberry cream, or lemon curd. They are a family run shop and the nicest family. They always greet there customers with a smile. This place is awesome! Opens at 4AM and has savory options for someone who's craving something in addition to sweets. The cheese, ham, & jalapeño croissant ($3.75) is really good! Even at 5-6AM, the lines are long. Make sure to account for that if you're trying to race to work.
