Love downtown Greenville and loved this cool restaurant. My aunt took us here for lunch. They have outdoor seating (with fire lamps to keep warm), indoor bar seating, high top tables, tables and booths. Apparently the Walking Dead castmate, Norman Reedus, is co-owner of this place ... hence the name. Their main specialty is burgers. But lots of variations. Decent beer on tap, and a nice list of drinks. It's not an extensive menu, but in this day and age of too many options, it was welcomed! We ordered the appetizer of three: hummus, spinach artichoke, salmon dip. Very tasty and enough to fill you up! My beer, Delirium, was fitting for the motif of the place. Oddly, my "chicken burger" was really a buffalo chicken ranch sammmie. I LOVED how they hot ironed the name of the place on the bun. The only reason for the star bump is something I ate messed up my stomach and made me feel bloated for a day. Oddly, I'm typing this and still feel bloated. Just in town for the weekend for Valentine's found this restaurant on Open Table got an early reservation. Best decision ever we were seated quickly. We opted for blackberry mint fizz mocktail and sweet tea. For starters we did trio dip with salmon spread, roasted pepper hummus and pimento cheese. So good couldn't really enjoy main entrees of fried ribs and Nic's impossible burger. Cost about $73 dollars reasonable for quality. We will return and highly recommend you check them out. read more

We had the friendliest service at the bar, there were several people making sure our dining experience went well. I wish I had gotten there names before I left. This place is really neat owned by the famous actor from walking dead. Has a fancy yet dark zombie decor , wish there were more booths but a cool ambiance overall. The menu isn't huge but has a lot of great burger options but I actually come for one specific entree. The BEST Mac n cheese ever with a brisket topping. The mix of delicious melty and creamy cheeses are so mouth watering. The corkscrew pasta is cooked perfectly and then topped with some of the best juicy brisket topped off with a decent drizzle of bbq. This place is my favorite for Mac n cheese. Got me hooked, I wish it wasn't $24 but nonetheless I've gotten it every time I dine here bc it's just too good to pass up. Definitely stop in, amazing food, chill vibe and good staff. read more

I wanted to dislike this place since it seemed like the Bubba Gump of Greenville when I walked in, but the food ended up being very good! Food: I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, cornbread, and subbed my green beans for the Cajun creamed corn. The creamed corn was the highlight of the meal- absolutely fantastic with a little kick. Meatloaf was pretty decent (sauce was the best), good mashed potatoes. Alcoholic drink of choice was a spiked raspberry lemonade- wasn't a big fan. It only tasted sour, not much like raspberry or even alcohol. Service: Our waiter was ON IT. Super quick for food to come out, constant refills, attentive. He rocked. Ambiance: Here's where Nic & Norman's loses points- the interior was...interesting. Inside is just pictures of the owners in odd situations paired with chandeliers and a nice bar in a different location from the former Smoke on the Water. Didn't want to like this place as much as I did just because they replaced smoke in the water which we absolutely loved. But I have to say, even outside on the patio for lunch, we got great service and even better food. My mom and I split a burger and salad and both were fantastic. The nic and Norman's small salad was enough for us to split with great, fresh flavors. The classic burger which we ordered medium rare was juicy and flavorful. Nic & Norman's My wife took me to Nic & Norman's in downtown Greenville, SC. It's on main at the original location of Smoke on the Water, just a short walk from her office. Greg Nicotero and Norman Reedus started their first restaurant in Sonia, Georgia. Starting to sound familiar, my little "Walking Dead" fans? Feeding the cast and crew of this massive show in the small town in the middle of nowhere had its challenges, so they stepped up. TANGENT: Their logo includes a paint brush (Greg's make-up tool) and an arrow (Norman's character Daryl Dixon's crossbow). Love it. They now have five locations in Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee, and I soon saw why. Greg is the make-up and effects wizard. Norman is the actor. Who knew both of them could curate such a fun and unique menu? ANYWAY. It's a burger place. It's a flatbread pizza place. It's a southern cuisine place. It's a brisket place. It's a salad place. I got the Fried Chicken Pot Pie (I love fried chicken, and our perfect waiter, Phillip, recommended it). My wife wasn't very hunger (big mistake) so she almost got the bowl of brisket/short rib/ground chuck chili, but at the last second opted for the Double Smashburger. I've had a couple of really good chicken pot pies at restaurants, but they usually require a little bit longer wait. N&N found a way to get the comfort food deliciousness and a quicker prep time! A very fluffy southern biscuit, topped with three chicken tenders, fried to crispy perfection, covered (smothered) in a hearty vegetable roux (carrots and peas. It'll bring you back! Her Double Smashburger was two patties, covered in house-made chili, seared jalapenos, queso, spicy mayo, AND Fritos. Yeah. Her side was a very good-looking mashed potato with skins. We didn't even want dessert after all that. BUUUUUT Phillip showed us the menu... Molten chocolate bundt cake and vanilla ice cream. Apple Blossom with caramel and vanilla ice crema. And a strawberry topped cheesecake. We got the cheesecake. It was a tall, dense New York style slice. A dusting of graham cracker on top with a strawberry drizzle and big sliced almost through strawberry on top. YUM! My wife has had the cup of chili before and liked it. She's also tried the three BBQ Pork Sliders that she thought were very nice. Just to give you a quick overview of the menu: Starters: Brisket nachos, Spinach & Artichoke, Pimento Cheese, or Roasted Red Pepper Hummus (or a trio!), Philly Cheesesteak Fries, Crab & Avocado Toast, Fried Mozzarella, Pickle Fries, Sticky Ribs, BBQ Slider Trio. Entrees: Beef Medallions, Fried Chicken Pot Pie, Double Breast basted Chicken, Whisky Citrus Salmon, Homestyle Meatloaf, Brisket Mac & Cheese, NY Strip, Shrimp & Grits, and Fish & Chips. We stopped by Nic & Norman's on a whim after walking past and thinking the menu looked fun and we're so glad we did. It was our first time there, and Madi, our server, was super friendly and recommended the meatloaf. The restaurant was a bit on the louder side, but it was a Friday night, so that's to be expected with a bigger crowd. The meatloaf was really good, and I loved the mashed potatoes, green beans, and cornbread paired with it. My husband ordered the Nic Chicken and really enjoyed it as well. We went to Nic & Norman's after church on Sunday. We were excited to try something new. I made reservations on line and we arrived a little early. Despite that...we were seared immediately. I knew the hostess and she came and gave me a big hug! The first thing I noticed when we walked in was how spacious and beautifully decorated the restaurant was. There was a lengthy bar, booth and table seating. And from what it looked like, they have private dining space available for groups or special occasions. We had a very nice time and my husband REALLY enjoyed the food! He ordered meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread and a side of Cajun corn. I had the Cobb salad with blackened chicken and my son ordered the salmon. Our server Phillip was knowledgeable and made suggestions...which turned out very well. The seating with the pictures of famous Norman Reedus on the walls definitely makes this place feel like a sports bar. I definitely will be coming back. The staff are super friendly, and whomever owns this restaurant should be proud. My advice is bring the family, your friends, heck ever bring a stranger to enjoy a nice meal together. read more

Convenient location by foot or by car in west Greenville and above Falls Park, this double width storefront feels like a neighborhood pub with an attractive bar and small busy dining alcoves. A deck doubles the dining space in good weather and overlooks the back entrance and Falls Park. I had the chicken pot pie which was re-imagined as fried chicken tenders with a biscuit covered in a gravy with peas and carrots. Creative and tasty. Went here for dinner tonight, but most likely won't back. Once we ordered our food, it took 53 minutes for it to get to us! Our waitress was sweet, but once she took our order, we did not see her again for 45 mins (when she came to tell us our food was almost ready). There was a holiday party in the back room, so we were told the kitchen was behind, but we still felt like that was way too long to wait for 2 entrees. I was really excited to see how Nic and Norman's revitalized this space. You walk in and it's a cool guy kinda vibe. Nice bar, beautiful chandeliers, but laid back décor. Every staff member we talked to was polite and friendly. We sat at a table and I'm really glad we didn't get the chair/ booth combo. They had that area packed and it looked like people had no privacy. We ordered the classic burger and BBQ burger. This was one of the top burgers in Greenville for sure. The kitchen was slow, even our waitress said something, but I knew that would happen with them just opening. I have no doubt that will change as the staff learns the menu. The decor is cool, with some fun zombie-themed art on the walls (nothing too gory, don't worry). We started off strong--the appetizers were actually good! But the mains? Yeah, no. The husband and I Tried Nic & Norman's recently. We arrived around 8:30 and sat at the bar with no wait. The renovations done for the new restaurant are pretty cool. The ambiance is warmer than the usual industrial vibe that is popular now. (Sorry, no pictures). I ordered the fish and chips and husband got the tenderloin medallions. The fish was delicious and the dill tartar sauce with cilantro was heavenly! The tenderloin was cooked perfectly as ordered. The service was very prompt and friendly. As a relatively new restaurant in downtown Greenville we wanted to check out Nic & Norman's. We were very disappointed with the food. The ambience is fine. The service was good, but the food is so average. We had the fried chicken burger with mashed potatoes along with a turkey burger and fried okra. The fried okra was good, however, the rest of the meal was so average we didn't finish it. We took a quick trip to Greenville SC and had lunch at Nic & Norman's. The food was good, for appetizers we had the sticky ribs tips which were tender and the right amount of sauce. I had the meatloaf now this slice was thick and savory, the mash potatoes and green beans had are definitely on point. My guy had the NY Strip steak, he said it was okay but needed more seasoning. He loved the brussel sprouts with bacon and blue cheese. His brother had the chicken pot pie and he cleaned his whole plate. They also have a well stocked bar and the Georgia peach cocktail was amazing and strong so there's no shortage on the liquor pours. Our waitress. Was kind and provided us with great information on the food and the history of the restaurant. I loved the decorations the restaurant is co-owned by one of the characters from The Walking Dead. There and photos on the wall of different movies and they even have what looks like a private dining area. Did I mention that they also sell merchandise? Now the biggest issue for me was the parking! There is a parking lot behind the restaurant but not sure how to get to it. Even though it was cold the walk was not bad and I was able to see some of the shops Greenville has. I will definitely be going back and I recommend that you just take a day trip and check it out! read more

Hubby and I tried this spot out tonight. Great hostess's/ greeters. Our waiter, Kai (sp) was extremely nice and friendly. Our food was absolutely amazing!!!! Hubby had the chicken pot pie, and I had the burger with blue cheese crumbles. The brisket nachos were good, the bbq sauce is a little to vinegar based for me, however, the hubby enjoyed it. The only "not so good thing" I have, would be one of the managers walked around and asked other guests how the food and service was, and never acknowledged us. I didn't get his name, but it's cool! Came here a couple nights ago and had a wonderful dinner with apps and cocktails. Loved it. Stopped in mid afternoon today for a wine and beer. Sitting at the bar. Very interesting. Watched bartended gyp these guys on their coffee martinis. He filled their glass 3/4 full. Then left the rest in the shaker in the sink. I watched wondering why he didn't clean it out right away. He did a few things - like walking back and forth then got a high ball glass and thinking no one was watching poured the rest in this glass. He walked to side counter and chugged it. Good service, nice location with dining room, separate bar and outdoor seating, and good decor... that's it. Just give them $60 and leave, and grab some MickieD on the way home. Brisket Nachos felt terribly like cultural appropriation to a person who doesn't go in for that. Brisket wasn't shredded, so you get about 4 nibbles of brisket on a pile of extremely sweet BBQ sauce over potato chips. Wife had fish and chips... chips were good. Fish was not flakey in a great batter, but tough with something they probably thought was clever but unfortunately failed. One in our party had brisket mac and cheese and referred to it as kid's Mac and cheese. Good concept, poorly executed. read more

Smoke on the Water used to be in that location, which was no gem but at least was local. I came here with my girlfriend on a monday afternoon, fairly slow. took a bit to get a menu, a bit longer to get someone to take the order. the service really was fine, but the food is pretty much a miss. I know it's new, so they are probably trying things out, but pretty much everything we ordered had very little flavor. no salt, no seasoning, i even got some blue cheese that actually tasted like nothing, and i've had a recent covid test so I know it's not that. it's very nice inside, and cocktails are pretty good, just go for drinks. read more
