Super friendly staff and nice to try something new as I've never had Yemeni chai which was unique for me. Open late and a fairly quiet space (I can't recall if there was music but it definitely wasn't overly loud inside) that is great to meet up with friends for an intimate discussion or study. Saw plenty of people studying there and the staff is so friendly! Tried a variety of desserts which were great. A bit sweet for my Asian tastebuds still not overly sweet like some American desserts. Check them out!!
Bae Tea Coffee is located in a strip mall along Tully Road. Relaxing place where you can enjoy a drink, snack, or dessert. They have table/chairs, couches, etc. The service was friendly. *Pistachio Milk Cake - this was good, moist obviously from the milk. My first time trying it. *Ice Yemeni Chai: cardamom, cream and beatea spices. Come support your local business.
Not what you see on Yelp! Totally different business take over. The plus is they actually have really strong coffee. Very nice staff just went out of the way to get here to try some of the photos I seen, and unfortunately it was a completely different business. None of the same names for the coffee and none of the same types of drinks. Their menu is very limited.. They do have some different pastries. It's just not anything that was on the yelp menu so it was a little disappointing very pretty inside. Very nice to take some photos. Inside of all in all I would not come back here, but it's not a horrible place to get a cup of Joe My drink was a 3 1/2 out of 5 had biscoff.
We saw a reel and came to this place. The complex itself is a little shady, but once you're in, it's a really cool cafe ! They have put efforts in the decor. The desserts were super amazing ! The best one was their rose milk cake, followed by biscoff cheese cake. The other options also looked pretty appetizing. We tried the Nutella shake and their yemeni coffee, both of which were really good ! The server was very friendly and made extra efforts in making sure we had a good time. Nice chill spot in San Jose for a unique tea break !
So it was late I was looking for a coffee shop in San Jose . Came across this one looked good online . We did go kinda late they were going to close in 30 minutes. Inside it was small but cute decor. I wanted some dessert they had some milk cakes but they looked a little dry maybe because it was the end of the night ? So I ended up getting some baklava and some coffee. They were both good noting really stood out to me . Then the man said they closing in 5 minutes so we took off . It was an okay experience not sure if I would be back .
Authentic Yemeni coffee and chai with delicious desserts and Arab decor. Yemeni coffee and chai was strong. I like adding a bit of sweetness like honey and it adds a whole new flavor profile to the drink. The rose milk was moist and tasty and not overly sweet. Lotus milk cake was also delicious. The kanafeh cheesecake was slightly on the drier side. Customer service was great and they really look out for the customer in making sure you have a good experience.
Second time visiting this cafe. From ambiance to the food, everything was great. This time I brought a friend to this cafe who really enjoyed the art work, decor, service and food. I was sad that they were out of the Pistachio Latte but the owner recommended the Yemeni Tea. It was fall in a cup of tea. Lots of rich flavors! Forgot the name of cake and beef pastry but both pleasing to the palette. Definitely a hidden gem in East San Jose!!! We will both be back.
Beautiful cafe, not overly crowded (like Qamaria) and delicious yemeni chai and desserts! Very happy to have a Yemeni tea place in San Jose and am happy to report that the quality is better than some of the other equivalent cafes in the bay area. The prices are also reasonable - around $5 for the tea and around $8-$10 for desserts (cake slices, cheesecakes, honey milk cake, kunafeh) The desserts and savory snack variety is also quite large, the service was great and friendly and the ambience is also beautiful. I especially liked the fact that it wasn't overly crowded (busy but not crazy), and there was ample parking available in the strip mall parking lot.
Came to Bae Tea Coffee after a friend shared an IG reel (I admit we were influenced lol) of this new shop that opened off of Tully Road in SJ. But wow does it really live up to the hype! Not only are they open a bit later than most tea/coffee shops, they are Yemeni-based so you know their tea and coffee are strong! The inside is brightly lit with plenty of seating options for people to hang out. There's a counter displaying all their baked goods, which (again) influenced me to order one! I ordered a Yemeni chai and a Bee Bite, mainly because the name of it is so cute lol The chai tasted great, but the bee bite went so well with it! It is basically a pastry with pockets of cream cheese and honey drizzled over. Highly recommend. According to my friend, the baklava is delicious. Service was also great. The young man who helped us had jokes, and was patient with us when we were undecisive with what to get. Definitely a must try and I hope they stay for a long time!
No lie their sign was huge and catchy and that's what caught my attention. Here was my experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Shared parking lot, I didn't have any issues but might depend on the time of day. Seating: Inside seating, good for small groups or pairs. Vibes: Welcome to East Side San Jose. This area is a grit and grind suburban area. It's an eventful area especially since it's close to the Eastridge Mall. The spot itself is pretty neat. You're welcomed with music from Yemen along with photos of the country, they are not shy of taking pride of their culture from the aesthetics to the food/drinks. It's more of a social, lounge, study type of spot. FOOD: Yemeni Chai (Recommend) A good kick like your usual chai, a little creamy that makes it smooth. What makes this stand out is the sweet taste of cardamom (be sure to stir) CUSTOMER SERVICE: Phil was great! Helpful with picking a drink and quick with the order. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Delicious flavors, great choices, and a pleasant vibe. I had a good time here. I'm pretty new to Yemen culture but I'm looking forward to learn and explore more. Props to the Bae Tea Coffee Team on bringing the first Yemeni coffee shop to San Jose! TIPS: * Bay Tea actually means my home in Arabic
Visited Bae Tea for the first time last weekend & am so happy we did! The store is unassuming from the outside in a little strip mall type area but the inside is so cute & has new decor. Even though it was a little busy when we got there they made our order quickly and the staff was so helpful in answering our questions. We got the Turkish coffee, pistachio latte, & a refresher, alongside 2 of their milk cakes. Everything tasted great, we will absolutely be going back!
A really nice coffee shop in San jose - with some special Yemeni coffee drinks and Yemeni desserts I got the Yemeni coffee which was excellent - very aromatic and yummy. I just wish they would serve it in a little finjan with a little cup . That would have been perfect . 4.1/5 I also tried the pistachio baklava which was ...just ok. I had better . 3.5/5 Daughter tried the ube latte and said it was pretty good . 3.9/5 I will come back bc the coffee is so unique and hard to find in our area !
_+* Wonderful coffee shop + nice study spot in San Jose! *+_ Plaza is somewhat ghetto but you can spot this shop from far away. Plenty of seating + seats are super comfy! Interior is very decorative and shop is very spacious and clean. Worker is super friendly and very accomodating. I ordered their Cookie Butter latte and their Rose milk cake. Both were super delicious and satisfied my caffeine cravings! Rose milk cake was very soft and moist and the Cookie Butter latte wasn't too sweet, so it was just the right blend of coffee + sweetness. I think that this place offers WiFi, but I didn't ask because I used my hotspot instead to study. The place does get a little more crowded at night time. I could study here for hours with noise canceling headphones! I definitely recommend a try! read more

Stepping into Bae Tea Coffee on a cool San Jose afternoon, we found ourselves wrapped in the gentle buzz of laughter, cardamom, and sunlight streaming through wide windows. The café balances cozy comfort with vibrant Middle Eastern touches--colorful Yemeni art along the walls, soft, relaxed seating, and the quiet backdrop of Yemeni music giving every corner a cheerful, homey vibe. Whether you come early for quiet or as the evening crowd builds, the space never feels rushed. There's just this mellow energy inviting you to linger, chat, or simply daydream as the staff glide by, always ready with a friendly suggestion or just checking in. Our table quickly became a little world of flavors. The Yemeni Chai came first, cradled warmly in a glass teapot--flames flickering beneath and every pour letting loose that familiar cardamom aroma, comforting and nostalgic for anyone who's grown up with chai. Conversation flowed and we lingered, one warm sip at a time. Curiosity sparked--a Turkish Coffee for me, bold and dark with cardamom swirling on top. If you wonder about bitterness, just add a bite of their flaky, sweet baklava. The magic is in the contrast: syrupy pastry mellowing the strong brew, every bite and sip a little game of harmony and surprise. Turkish Delights landed to the delight of my daughter, who immediately claimed the Chocolate & Cream as her favorite--soft, creamy, gone in a flash (absolute kid-approval). She spent the next half hour happily working through her Maui Refresher, digging into the slow-melting ice and enjoying its frosty, fruity freshness. For kids (or anyone needing a break from coffee), it's a definite must-order. Meanwhile, my wife sipped on a Tiramisu Latte--sweet, gently layered with coffee, frothy and soft. She smiled after every sip, the kind of look that says, "this one's all mine." Even as more people streamed in, talking in low voices as dusk set in, the café never lost its relaxed vibe. Literally love Bae Tea Coffee! Right when you walk in the decorations alone just bring you an unforgettable experience making me feel like I'm out the country on vacation! I love all the gold fancy accents! The staff was really nice and helpful explaining each item since everything is new to me! The coffee is amazing and the food was also really flavorful! I wasn't going to write a review for this place initially, but i figured since its a hidden gem along tully road i might as well. First things first, this place has one person running the whole place (at least when i've gone its always one person working), so when there's a line people do have to wait. They also close the store midday, which i'm guessing is so the staff can take her lunch break The staff is very nice and friendly, she told me and my friend that on fridays (not sure if its every friday or not) there's karaoke at the store I dont remember the pastry i got specifically, but i do remember it being very good. It was sweet, but the coffee cut out the sweetness I also really love how the owner always gives back to the community! This is definitely a great hole in the wall coffee shop along Tully Road! read more
I really enjoyed the Horchata Chai! I've never had this combo before and it was a great mix. It was stronger on the horchata flavor with some cinnamon on top. Glad I found my new go to drink and coffee shop in the neighborhood! I also love that they host events like comedy shows in the shop. They have games like clue, uno, etc and comfy chairs as well. Finally, our side of town has a nice, legit cafe who's primary product is coffee. For east side, it's more common to find boba shops and milk tea places, who so happen to have a few coffee offerings. But since coffee isn't their focus (but they just so happen to appear when you type in "coffee near me" in Yelp), their coffee isn't great. And since it doesn't taste good, it has to be masked with a lot of sugar, flavorings, condensed milk, and/or tapioca balls. But at Sharkey's, no, they actually pull the espresso shots. And then add the milk. And it tastes good... like how a coffee shop should operate. For me, to get this type of simple and yet uncommon method of making coffee, I'd have to drive to Willow Glen or downtown. Or go to Starbucks on Story (which is incredibly dirty) or Capital and Tully (which is always hit or miss) - and we've all seen it: those employees really DGAF about their jobs. Back to Sharkey's, they have baked goods, breakfast offerings, and creative flavorings if you're into that. They also have free Wifi. A lot of space. Fast service. Nice staff. And an overall cool vibe. It was a really nice environment. I'm glad I finally found my go-to neighborhood coffee shop. read more

recently opened up and i love the design and interior/deco of the place. i tried the rose milk cake and it was very good, amazing flavor and looks very pretty. the service is quick and the workers are very nice. i also ordered a mango smoothie (not pictured) which was really tasty. i came here to get work done with a friend and there's a decent amount of seating inside, i think it was a great environment. they have a selection of desserts/pastries along with the drinks so i would recommend checking this place out! read more

Super well done new coffee shop near Eastridge mall. I found it when looking for a place to work remotely while the kids were at an event. Staff was kind and helpful when picking a drink. Coffee is great (chromatic beans) and there is a large cooler of non-coffee drinks, as well as smoothies and matchas on the menu. They plan to keep adding to food items as they build clientele, but I loved the spinach and feta croissant (very hearty) and look forward to trying the huge cookies. The hours are great for both morning work or later afternoon/dinner hang out. Working here: Music was the right level - I can hear it but I can also get a work call done. This was huge for me, as a few other shops seem to be BLASTING music making it hard to have a conversation. There are 3 counters as well as 3 larger tables in addition to the comfy chair/couch seating areas. Check them out! read more

Service was great! One of the workers came over to help us and kindly gave us recommendations. Felt very welcoming. My boyfriend and I both got cookie butter lattes, I got decaf espresso and was pleasantly surprised that it didn't taste bitter as some decaf espressos do. We both got it less sweet but I personally found it still a little too sweet for my liking. My boyfriend liked it though so, it's personal preference. They have wifi, plenty of seating, and extension cords making it a nice study spot :) read more

Went late one evening to try it out, and I usually don't drink caffeine past a certain time in the evening, but did not regret it at all. The decor is lovely and the service is outstanding. I've seen this place on my socials for a while and I finally gave it a try! Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The shop is spacious, nicely decorated ( in courtesy of the shark theme), and the service here was excellent. There are comfy couches which I love because it can get uncomfortable to sit on a chair for a while. Another thing I adore about this spot is that there are a variety of board games to choose from! When I first walked in, I was greeted by who I think is the owner, and he was so incredibly nice. We had a great conversation and he was super helpful since it was my first time here. We ordered an iced churro latte and iced strawberry cream matcha. The latte is bold but not bitter at all, perfect amount of caffeine and sweetness. I'm very picky when it comes to matcha but the iced strawberry cream matcha was delightful. It tasted like strawberry milk mixed in with matcha ( that is the best way I could describe it). Recently, they hosted a back to school drive and partnered up with local businesses to provide haircuts and school supplies for students. Sharkys also occasionally hosts karaoke and comedy standups. I've tried another Yemen cafe and was excited to see one open up in San Jose! Food(4/5): We had the hot chai tea and the pistachio milk cake. We loved the chai tea! The flavor is strong, we got 25% sweetness and this was best if you're looking for a tea that's not sweet. Service(4/5): we mainly ordered from the kiosk, but the service was good the cashier let us know that we can look at the items in stock on the side otherwise the item had been sold out. Ambiance(5/5): It's actually pretty spacious inside and has lots of seating. Good place to chat with friends or catch up on some work. read more

The food is also really good, with the chai being exceptional! My father and mother enjoyed their coffees, and I loved the Dubai chocolate bar. Absolutely amazing! The tall young man who helped us was very sweet and knowledgeable about their menu. He recommended drinks to us where we ended up trying the pistachio latte and the IBB latte. Both were very smooth and delicious. We also got their rose cake which was soaked in milk I believe? Everything paired well and the place itself was spacious and beautiful. One thing to note is that they do charge FOR ICE and their lattes are already on the priced end as far as coffee goes so definitely be aware of that. Overall, I would go back! read more

Finally made my way to Sharkys coffee! & As I must say , I was greeted right on the spot , good ambiance was in the air from the very beginning! On top of the they had some good tunes and staff was super friendly! But the coffee.. it was amazing! I had some of their expresso and ordered the "white shark" This place is a must! Very Delicious coffee, we ordered the regular black coffee pot, it was amazing as expected. Arabic Coffee was a great experience the service was quick and the "barista" made sure we enjoyed our coffee! I would return here again, and try the other lattes, overall would recommend! read more
