Found my favorite childhood snack, mixed rice paper at Moc Delights--a fancier version of what I used to have in Vietnam. I love that the rice paper itself was flavorful, savory, spicy, shrimpy and garlicky. The tamarind sauce on the side was sweet and tangy. I like to pour it over the rice paper so it softened up. I also like the toppings they added for the mixed combo rice paper, nice blend of texture and flavors from jerky, pork rinds, mango, and egg. My personal favorite topping was the Vietnamese coriander, perfect to pair with the rice paper. I highly recommend the combo mixed rice paper. I also got their milk tea & coconut kumquat to try & tbh they were super disappointing. The milk tea & coconut kumquat were unbearably sweet, I couldn't even get to half of the cups. For the milk tea, the tea scent didn't pulled through at all. I was basically sipping on burnt sugary milk. Overall, giving this place 3/5 star because they need to improve their drinks. read more

On March 26th, around 7-8 PM, my daughter and I visited Moc Delight and ordered two portions of pan-fried pho. A male staff member took our order, but when the food was served, it came in to-go containers even though we did not request takeout. And when the mistake was pointed out, instead of apologizing or offering a proper solution, he responded jokingly saying "It's okay, it's no different, just a different plate." I found this response very unprofessional and disappointing. At the very least, he should have asked whether we wanted the food served properly on plates. The food quality also did not match our previous experience. The bread inside was still cold, and the pate was cold as well since it wasn't plated properly. Eating from a plastic container felt completely different from dining on a plate and it is definitely not "the same" as he said. Also, no utensils were provided, and I had to go up to the counter to request a knife and fork myself. I hope the management sees this review and provides better training for their staff, especially in customer service and handling mistakes. Mộc Delight was a pretty good spot overall. The service was fast, and the drinks were okay. I ordered the ốc hương xào me, ốc len xào dừa, viên chiên tỏi ớt, and bánh mì chảo bò. The bánh mì chảo was decent, not super special, but the portion was big and very filling, so it was still worth it. The ốc hương xào me was definitely the highlight for me. It was really flavorful, well-seasoned, and super tasty. The ốc len xào dừa was also nice and creamy, and the fried fish balls with garlic chili were good to share. We order the rice paper salad combo. The first time we had it, it was great. The had very generous toppings, giving the dish a lot of different texture. I really liked the pork rind, nice to have a crunch every so often. I asked to make it spicy and they gave me a side of chili. One thing I've noticed is that the sauce tastes different from day to day. Sometimes it's sweeter than usual; other times it's more savory. I've been there three times in the span of a month, and it hasn't been very consistent. The first time had very generous toppings, the second time was a big letdown compared to the first, and the third time was somewhere in the middle. The first time I went here their menu was still pretty small. Now it's way more extensive and lots of food to try. Most of the food items are snacks. I looooove their sauce. I love it so much that there was a time where I got it 4 times in a month and 2 times in a week. The bads: - banh trang tron portion can be very inconsistent. I've been going since they just opened til now. The first few times, the portion was really generous. And then each time after it feels like it got smaller and smaller. (I usually buy it to go and dump it in a bowl when I get home, so I definitely notice the difference lol, it used to overflow in the bowl i use, these days it fits nicely in the same bowl) - today, after almost finishing my banh trang tron. I've been looking for good bánh mì quê. I decided to check out Moc Delights because they have it and other street snacks too. Food: 5/5 The bánh mì quê did not disappoint and was really good! I have had it at other places where the price was more expensive, there weren't enough fillings, or the banh mi was too small. The bánh mì quê here was a good size and decently priced, with lots of fillings! I got the pate/pork floss one. Service: 5/5 Food did not take long to come out and the workers are nice. Ambiance: 5/5 The decorations and artwork are amazing! The shop looks very modern. It takes me back to the streets of Vietnam. It is a small shop but there are several tables and chairs for you to enjoy your food indoors too. We came from SF to try the skinny bahn mi and the crispy rice balls. The skinny bahn mi was okay, but we loved the crispy rice balls! They had similar fillings and I liked the fried sticky rice better than the bread. The bread was a bit dry and didn't taste that fresh. The rice balls were great - crunchy and chewy! We were the first ones there. The decor and wall mural was giving Vietnamese street food stalls. They have 5-6 or tables indoors if you wanted to dine in. We ordered.. STUFFED CRISPY STICKY RICE / XOI CHIEN $10.95 (3) -we got it with caramelized pork belly. I wanted a combo of their two flavors but you only get one choice for a set of 3. Kinda plain, didn't have much flavor. The dipping sauce it came with was too sweet for me. If you don't eat it right away and brought it home like we did, the rice paper rolls get super stuck together. When we tried to pull them apart to eat, the rolls would just rip and the inside fell out. Kinda annoying. Since it was kinda bland, the chinh-su hot sauce they provided really helped. I do like how they topped the rolls with some pork cracklings, fried shallots and a drizzle of mayo. 2.5/5* They have a condiments table on the side if you needed to dress up your snacks. Plastic utensils, chopsticks, paper trays and napkins are self serve. The staff were super nice. The cashier gave me recommendations on popular items and the rest of the staff were friendly / playful with my active toddler. Food took some time to come out and they came out one by one. Full of crunchy gelatinous goodness for your skin! * Xôi Chiên: Stuffed Crispy Sticky Rice (3 pc - $10.95): https://tinyurl.com/k8ss9ucx - Choice of caramelized pork belly (our pick) or pâté+pork floss+minced pork A Viet street food that reminds me of Venezuelan/Colombian arepas, the sticky rice disk is fried to a golden brown, a slit is cut, and filled with rich, meltingly soft pork belly. Great savory flavor and contrasting crunchy-chewy-soft textures. The accompanying acidic đô chua (pickled carrot and daikon) perfectly cut through the richness. So bomb. I haven't seen this anywhere in the bay so get this! * Sụn Gà Chiên: Fried Chicken Cartilage ($15.95): https://tinyurl.com/2tzhyyh7 Satisfyingly crunchy, the fried cartilage was dressed in savory sweet nước mắm (fish sauce) glaze and tossed with onions + jalapeños. Great for the drunchies. * Bánh Mì Chảo: Sizzling Beef Plate ($19.95): https://tinyurl.com/4yu6df98 - Requested rare The marinated steak (filet mignon?) was hella tender, deliciously buttery and flavorful (not salty). Served with one sunny side up egg (runny yolk), a scoop of rich pâté, a beef meatball, crusty baguette, and a salad of lettuce and pickled onions. Viet breakfast done right. To nitpick, it didn't come out sizzling so the skillet could have been hotter. S E R V I C E Friendly and gracious owner(s) and staff. It's the soft opening so they're still figuring things out; food took some time to come out. Suggestion to owner(s): - Add a water dispenser for self-serve water. - Offer paper plates at the condiment station. - Poke holes in takeout boxes for fried items. A M B I A N C E Modern, compact space with Viet street murals. There's only 6 highly coveted tables so best to come early on the weekend if you want to dine-in. I can only comment on the Bahn Mi Chao since that's the only dish I've gotten. However, it was so good that I came back a second time and this will be one of my go to's for this dish! The steak is so juicy and tender, it's mind blowing. The sauce isn't as sweet nor thick as other Bahn Mi Chao but the steak makes up for it! The baguette isn't as crispy as other places too. The green Thai tea is also pretty good! Place gets pretty busy. While they have some tables, people tend to eat for a while (I've seen people bring takeout from other places too) , so seating can be tough depending when you go. We got three items here for three people and I would say it was good portioned. We weren't completely full but no longer hungry. 1. Rice paper combo - banh trang chọn ta là : (4/5) very tasty but not worth $16 in my opinion. Would recommend getting one of the specific meats to save $2 as we couldn't really taste the different meats 2. Sizzling beef plate (5/5): our favorite dish! The portions were on the smaller size for the price but it tasted good enough to make up for it. We requested the meat rare and they aced it. 3. Frog legs and porridge (3/5): felt like you didn't get too much frog legs for the amount of porridge, which also felt really bland even with the sauce mixed in. read more

Another Viet street food place added to my list. I'm a snacker so whenever I stumble upon quick eats like these, it fills me with joy. The portions are quite big, filling, and easy to share. It was just my friend and I that day when this pic was taken. We were able to get full off of these pretty quickly. I can't forget the fact that this place replaced Teazu. Cute little boba spot in a large outdoor shopping center. Service was quick, and the drinks were fresh and delicious.

I was lucky enough to stop by during Mộc Delights's soft opening on the first day, January 3rd!! With it being the first day, it was amazing to see the shop so busy and loved! The ordering process was seamless (order up front, get a number, and wait for your order). I grabbed the sizzling beef plate (bánh mì chảo) and the lychee green tea with boba (trà vải chưởng). The beef plate was flavorful with the nice touch of the salad on the side. The drink was yummy and would be perfect on a hot summer day. The touches of the Vietnamese culture from the mural of street restaurants, bamboo hats, and street cart on the side were beautiful. This will definitely be the go-to spot for late night eats!!
