Adeni chai, potato samosas, beef shawarma, and a mango dragon fruit refresher
    Audrey M.

Order: Adeni Chai, potato samosas, chicken shawarma, and mango dragon fruit Very spacious, great place for getting work done. Can get busy and slightly loud with the music but it was white noise for me. Food was really good! I especially liked the potato samosa which was hot when it came out. Service was good.

3.5 stars overall for this Yemen style cafe. Drinks were very good! World cup themed matcha with berries was yummy. They were able to make an iced white chocolate mocha latte even though it wasn't on the menu. The coffee was super smooth and rich. Food: The egg amosa was a little dry. The chicken shawarma was tasty but burnt on one end because the tortilla style wrap was probably set too close to a heat source as they warmed it. Setting: Spacious and warmly sunlit dining area, comfy chairs, large TV with world cup game on, people working and relaxing. The bathroom has a sink outside of the single restroom stall. They also have a prayer area. Would try something different next time.

First time trying this coffee shop although I have seen it on social media before. It's quite a spacious place with tons of seating, and thankfully when I came to visit it wasn't busy. Me and my family were warmly greeted when we arrived, and the staff were helpful in choosing things off the menu. I wish I would have tried a drink, but because I only wanted a snack I ended up trying the beehive, which is a cream cheese pastry drizzled with honey. It kinda tasted like a warm, sweet pizza dough dessert, but honestly I really enjoyed it! My brother ordered a chai and it was pretty good, but definitely strong lol. Overall, a nice place to come chill with friends and maybe even for study sessions!

My first visit to Milyar Coffee, and it was overall a great experience! There was plenty of seating and space. You could easily hang out and work, or catch up with friends and family. I love when a cafe actually cares about the food that they serve. I was lowkey overwhelmed with the amount of dessert options as a girly with a sweet tooth. I ended up getting the baklava cheesecake since I have never in my life seen that combination before! It was delicious and worth a try! The drinks were yummy. Both the Yemeni latte and Milyar chai were spiced with cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. The staff was friendly and inviting. I loved that they really went all out with the World Cup decor. Excited to go back and make my way through the dessert case!

I think I came on an off day because it was a busy weekday and the line kept getting longer. The cashier seemed pretty overwhelmed trying to keep up, which made the experience feel a bit hectic. I ordered their banana matcha since it's one of their more popular drinks, but unfortunately it was a miss for me. It did not taste like matcha at all, and it had a zing to it. I also tried their beef shawarma, and that was pretty disappointing as well. The meat was extremely chewy on the inside, to the point where it was inedible. It was also warm on the outside and then cold on the inside. The only thing I enjoyed that I got was the biscoff cheesecake. I hope they can improve once they get more settled in.

Had a great experience at Milyar Cafe! The barista was helpful in giving us suggestions for a sweet hot drink, and the Spanish latte was exactly what we wanted! Perfect flavors and very comforting. The inside is a beautifully decorated and lit up space and there are many tables to sit at. The music is a vibe and it really feels so welcoming and lovely inside! Definitely recommend !!

To start off, the area around the cafe was beautiful and well chosen. Exterior didn't stand out super crazy but it was a warm and welcoming entrance. Interior felt reused though but the place was very clean and had a lot of seating. In terms of service, they were quick but the drinks were alright. Good study spot.

Great little coffee spot Staff was super friendly Didn't have to wait long for coffee Quiet and plenty of seating

This is a lovely coffee shop for studying or hanging out. The interior design/decor is beautiful, there's a gold and granite theme and plenty of lighting. Lots of seating and there are a few outlets. They also have shelves of books and board games. I had a good study session here. The baristas were really nice and helpful in suggesting less caffeinated drinks since their decaf machine was broken, and I ended up getting an adeni chai that I enjoyed. The chai comes unsweetened but they can add sweetener. I saw people waiting a bit for their drinks so this probably isn't the best spot if you're in a rush; they had decent foot traffic on a weekend afternoon and the drinks seem to take some time to make. They have a nice selection of savory pastries such as fatayer in different varieties (spinach, potato, cheese, zaatar, egg, chicken), samosas (beef, chicken, potato), and beef shawarma rolls. And of course there's plenty of sweet pastries. It would have been nice if their decaf machine was working; I saw other reviews that reported the same issue months ago.

A reliable choice for a 9 PM matcha run, even when you shouldn't be doing it. Came to try the banana matcha latte with oat milk and it was pretty good. I was worried because I forgot to say less sweet, but it wasn't too crazy. I tried the refreshers and those were pretty sweet. The barista was pleasant and I love the decor inside. It was pretty lively for a Sunday night. They have lots of treats and snacks! No outside patio.

Update : Fortunately, they started to prepare coffee in the traditional Yemeni coffee pot. One of the servers showed me a beautiful coffee pot behind counter. A definite treat. Usually served in little coffee cups while super hot. Yes, there should be coffee grounds at the bottom. Reading Fortune: If you turn it upside down wait awhile and then turn it right side up. Reading your fortune in the way the coffee grounds cling to the cup is a thing. The Arabian Qahwah (coffee) I had was good. Made with ginger and other spices. My favorite is half sweet Yemeni coffee made the traditional way.

A variety of delicious drinks and food! I visited on a Sunday evening, hoping to get some work done. Immediately, I could tell this cafe was not the place for a quiet work session. There is plenty of seating, but every single table was full. The atmosphere was boisterous, with so many tiny kids running around. This seems to be a very family-friendly spot, as I noticed lots of families enjoying delicious drinks here. If you're looking for a nice study cafe, this is not the place. The interior is decorated lavishly, and I did eventually snag a table. I tried the milyar chai, which was perfectly spiced and piping hot. The price was very reasonable considering the quantity of chai I received. There was quite a long wait since the line was so long. It probably took me fifteen minutes to order and another fifteen minutes to get my drink. The store amazingly only got busier into the night, and they stay open really late. There were several other drinks on the menu that sounded really delicious! I hope to return to try more drinks and some of their delectable desserts. However, I definitely won't be coming here with the intention of working next time haha.

My friend and I came to visit this cafe on a weekday. It was nice and spacious. There was even free board games for customers! Taste: - This was okay. Nothing really stood out. Parking: - Street parking.. This was a bit stressful Ambiance: - It has life to it. It's a little loud for studying but great for catching up with a friend Price: - I couldn't find the price of the pastries so I just asked the cashier. It was on the pricer side. The chocolate dessert in the top left of my photo is $15

This is the drink we always order whenever we visit this place. We also tried the Double Matcha Melon Matcha, which was good, but I still preferred the guava matcha. My husband likes the Melon Matcha better though. The Vietnamese Coffee was very strong for me and on the less-sweet side. The Pandan Latte wasn't really for us either. It wasn't very sweet, and we didn't get much pandan flavor. We've definitely had better pandan lattes elsewhere. The drinks aren't cheap, but I think they're worth trying, especially the guava matcha and double melon matcha. Lines can get pretty long on weekends, and parking is free but limited. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for the guava matcha!

I decided to get the Lavendula Latte, which the barista delivered to my table. I had forgotten to adjust the sweetness (though thinking now I can't remember if there was an option for that) but the drink had a nice balance of sweetness. Only complaint I have is that the menus lacks photos (not sure if it's lag or if there genuinely are no photos), but I'd say that the drink looks okay. You also have to use McDonalds wifi if you want to do work here, but the wifi's free and seems to be working fine so I'm not sure if that's really a negative. Overall, a nice place to work at with friendly service. I might consider coming back here again if I happen to end up in the area.

Each bite was delicious, everything tasted freshly baked and made, and I especially loved that the pastries weren't overly sweet. Although we enjoyed eating the tower from top to bottom, next time we would probably go from bottom to top since we like to save our sweets for last! Of course, we couldn't leave without getting more pastries to bring home. They have plenty of classic pastries, like croissants, along with more unique specialties, like their croissant cube. Everything looked and tasted so fresh, with that perfect flaky, crackly texture. The pastries are a little pricey for bakery items, but in my opinion, they're definitely worth it for the quality and freshness. A simple sandwich order at 9:20 is not ready until 9:45. Lesson learned, come at opening time and order all at once. Cortado & latte, 5/5. Hot, smooth, strong. Orchid acai bowl ($14, sub in mango for mulberry, add coconut dust): 5/5. so good. Palmetto superfoods is my go-to in the SJ area for acai bowls, this was better despite not as many topping options. Their bases are smoother and creamier, no ice crystals here. Also liked that the fruit was chopped smaller. BAE sandwich ($12): 4/5. good, but definitely not worth a 25 min wait. Textures, freshness were great, but it was missing salt/pepper & spices. The sauce helped, but still underwhelming given how good it looks. Recommend having salt & pepper packets & a bottle of hot sauce available to customers. Cinnamon roll ($5.75): as a cinnamon roll, 3/5. As a morning bun type thing, 4.5/5. This is a case of mistaken identity. It's got a slight crunch, light sweetness, fluffy (not dense). When I order a cinnamon roll, I'm more expecting decadent dessert-for-breakfast laden with sugar & butter, yknow? Loved their dining area, loved how beautifully presented all items were, loved how everything was served at optimal temperature (hot espresso, thoroughly warmed pastry, etc), loved the variety of menu items (I can get an acai bowl and bf can get a sandwich or pastry). The espresso also packs a punch -- you get 2 shots with your coffee order, so no complaints there. ‍ The ambience is definitely a highlight. The space is super cute and spacious, and they even have this mini staircase seating area that would be perfect for hanging out with friends. It also has plenty of room for a work-from-café situation The only downside was the service, which felt a bit slow for my liking. That said, they did give customers a heads-up that half of their espresso machine was under maintenance, so I'll give them some grace on that one!
