Used to live in Modera when Dumont just opened so I'm one of the first regulars here. I used to drink here a few times a week, their drinks are pretty consistent in quality, and I love that they updated their menu frequently. I keep telling my friends to come here to work because they have free wifi, but I never actually come here to work. Maybe I will do that one day when I miss San Jose enough
I really enjoyed the vibes of this place! Free samples of their HUGE SELECTION of ice cream flavors! And the seating inside is quite comfortable. Of everything I sampled, I personally recommend the Raspberry Mascarapone. One of their more unique options and the cheesiness is soooo decadent. Perfectly (lightly) sweetened - just how I like it! The raspberry reminded me of jam, and it had a nice syrupy flavor to it. I'd get this again!
Hidden ice cream spot in the strip of San Pedro! I came to Dumont with my partner on a Monday evening, and luckily, it was not busy! It is in a hidden pocket between Dr.Funk and Gyu-Kaku, so keep an eye out. Inside was pretty spacious with a good amount of seating for you to mingle with friends and family. Something cool and unique was that they had samples of their milk tea when you walk in (through dispensers). I was interested in trying their ice cream and saw they had some unique flavors like golden star, kheer, and more. While I tried them and thought they were good but sweet, I opted for the mint chocolate and my partner got their chocolate orange. In my personal opinion, I think their mint chocolate ice cream was a bit grainy for my liking, and I wish it was smoother. It was a mild mint flavor with neon green coloring. My partner's ice cream was interesting. I thought it would be a mixed chocolate-orange flavor (which is unique), but it ended up being half chocolate and half orange. I wouldn't necessarily say this place is somewhere I would be an extreme advocate for you to go to but if you have some kiddos who want a sweet treat, this would definitely satisfy their sweet tooth.
Dumont Creamery and Cafe is nice family owned business close to San Pedro Market, Old Spaghetti Factory, etc. Mostly metered street parking and a few parking garages around the area. I like that they are open late. They have several tables inside and a couple outside. Order via kiosk and/or the cashier. They only have one unisex restroom. Coffee, Milk Tea Drinks, Ice Cream, and baked goods. Our Surprise Bag had a banana walnut loaf, french croissant, and a cheese bread. I'll be back to try their icecream and/or drinks.
What we had was really good, and the counter workers were very friendly, but I think you need to go earlier in the day than we were there, (I think we were there around 2 -3 pm). Mainly because when we were there they seemed to be out of quite a few flavors. I had the ice cream flavors "filter coffee" and "oreo caramel fudge", both were creamy rich and tasty. I also ordered a no foam Latte. Which arrived cold, first, then after they fixed it to be a hot one, it had foam. I took it anyway, not wanting to be annoying and asking them to fix it again. The latte was, honestly, not great. It was hard to tell if it was poorly made or just not a good roast of bean. The people I was with had Bobas and really liked them. So I can recommend the Boba and the Ice Cream for sure, but I can't recommend the coffee. It's got good seating inside. We were a party of three, but it looked like they could handle larger parties, as well.
My family and I were walking to the parking lot after getting sushi when we spotted a sign showcasing what looked like the most delicious scoops of ice cream...Of course, we had to stop and give Dumont a try. I went with the Biscoff ice cream on a chocolate waffle cone, and delicious doesn't even begin to cover it! The line gets long pretty quickly, but the staff keeps things moving fast. Even though they looked a bit stressed, they did an amazing job taking care of customers and making sure everyone was helped in a timely manner. They have chairs out front if you want to sit and enjoy your treat, or you can dine inside, there's plenty of seating either way.
Nice drink and ice cream shop in San Pedro square. We were excited to grab drinks after our lunch at Spaghetti factory and declined the complimentary ice cream that came with our lunch. So here's the scoop! It started it great. Tried out sample flavors of ice cream which were good. Originally I was gonna go with an affogato then switch to cream brûlée promo, but then they didn't have it so decided on ice cappuccino only to switch as co worker was having a milkshake! BIG mistake! Her milkshake was made first. She went with two flavor of ice cream basil mint and peach. We watch her make it, milk and 3 scoop of ice cream blended it and poured it in cup. I notice she add more milk in blender without blending it and added to cup. I thought maybe it was very thick and milk would thin it a bit. She hands it to her takes a sip and I ask her how it was and she made no comment. Then it was my turn. I went with two scoop of the coffee and one chocolate chip. I also ask to use 2% milk. She blended it and handed it over. It was watery as hell not a milkshake. Was looking for that thick creamy consistency of a milkshake. Mind you this drink was $10 and what a disappointment. No wonder she didn't say anything. She is not one to complain. If we weren't press for time being on our lunch hour, I would have went back and ask for just the three scoop of ice cream. Oh and they don't have decaf coffee. My review is for the milkshake.

The biscoff ice cream tastes like biscoff and has little biscoff chunks in them, which adds a lot. The kheer has nuts and some sort of date or something and was pretty good. The ice cream also had good texture. All in all, it's good ice cream.
Dumont was busy but not chaotic. The Valentine's decor was cute (kissing booth moment outside, love notes inside). It felt festive We Ordered * Filter Coffee - 5/5 (this was my pick) Smooth, strong, and not overly sweet. Tastes like actual coffee. If you like bold espresso energy, this is your girl. * Biscoff - Creamy, and super sweet. Actually tastes like biscoff. * Hazelnut Brownie - Rich. Nutty. Definitely enjoyed the brownie bits in it. * Toppings - 5/5 dark chocolate bits. YUMM * Chocolate cone - 3/5 the texture could be crunchier. But it was sturdy. Service Staff provided samples (when asked) so I was able to try Kheer which is their most popular. Definitely was not for me. Too vanilla-ey? Overall Dumont was a cute vibe. Parking was a B- so if you're planning to go San Pedro square during peak hours, be advised it's a bit of a mission. But walking to find the restaurant, was so cute.

I really liked: Hazelnut Brownie Ice Cream Dumont is a cute little spot in San Jose for a sweet treat. I tried the hazelnut brownie ice cream, and it was very chocolatey with good chunks of brownie throughout. The blend of hazelnut, chocolate, and brownie worked really well together, making it a rich and satisfying scoop. The service was great. The staff was very patient with samples, which made it easy to take my time and pick the right flavor without feeling rushed. The inside of the cafe is cute and well lit, making it a nice place to sit and enjoy your ice cream. Overall, a solid stop for good ice cream in a cozy setting. #goodeats read more
Fun ice cream shop with lots of great flavors! We loved the Oreo carmel one. They let us try a lot of different flavors, so many good ones to chose so we got a flight to have a variety. If you're looking for a yummy treat in downtown SJ definitely check it out! read more

Yummy ice cream shop offering unique flavors, some with Asian influence. The ice cream wasn't too sweet and the scoops were on the smaller side. The shop is cozy in size but spacious in terms of layout and clean with plenty of seats. Friendly and efficient staff! read more

Love the cafe, been here multiple times. Have worked from here. The service and ambience is amazing. Had Dirty Mad tea here loved it. Definitely worth visiting. Great place to work from or hangout with friends. Whenever you go ask for Summer, she really sweet. read more

I go to San Pedro Square all of the time and have never popped into Dumont. We'll, that's going to change. They have very inventive ice cream flavors and use good quality ingredients. You can taste the difference. read more

I'm pleasantly surprised the fruit teas were pretty good, since I wasn't expecting it from an ice cream (focused) place! My friends and I got the lychee lust and lychee lemonade. Both had good lychee flavor, weren't too sweet, and came with multiple toppings. You can order drinks from the kiosk, rather than wait in the ice cream line! read more

Was craving some ice cream with my friends and had Dumont on my list to try. Located in downtown San Jose, nearby San Pedro Square so there are only garage and street parking available. My friends and I didn't know what to order, so we went with the flight , which came with 4 flavors, about a scoop each. We sampled a number of flavors and the young gentleman that helped us was really nice. We felt really bad that we were just indecisive and sampling a lot, but he was encouraging it and was super nice! Went with the La Ferraro (tasted exactly like ferrero rocher), biscoff, Hokey Pokey (honeycomb) and guava. The flavors were good, but for some reason, all of the ice creams had different consistencies which was odd. Some were already kind of melted and was melting fast, but one was like the perfect consistency. Flavors and customer service was great, just that the consistencies of the ice creams threw us off. read more
I stopped by Dumont Creamery after dinner nearby. The location is super convenient, and the shop itself is really cute. It has cute little Halloween decorations when I visited, which added a fun touch. The ice cream was solid and hit the spot, with good flavor and texture. Service was fine--nothing over-the-top, but friendly enough and efficient. Overall, it made for a nice way to end the evening. read more

I ordered the Matcha Lavender Latte. It came out within 5 minutes. It's not too sweet which is perfect for me! It's nestled between Dr. Funk and Gyu-Kaku. Finding parking near here is hard. I suggest street parking! Great place for hangouts. I've heard they have a discount for students so use that! read more
Cool pedestrian alley location in the super popular San Pedro Square. I got a quick and easy Americano here in the morning. Delicious. Perfect spot for people watching while enjoying an ice cream or cup of coffee. Stop by for a desert after enjoying one of the many restaurants or bars literally a two minute walk away. Previously, when I visited, I really didn't notice anything remarkable about the Purple Patch, and while the boba is not unique to this drink, my friend who ordered it noticed how smooth and soft the boba was and was impressed by it. She usually does not order boba in other places. I ordered two scoops of the Red Guava because it was seasonal. It turned out to be so delicious that I bought a handpacked pint. Even when I worked at Baskin Robbin's, I didn't feel inclined to buy a handpacked pint, but that changed with the Red Guava ice cream. They even offered a side of chili powder and salt! I declined but appreciated the recognition of how guava is eaten in Asia. Another friend ordered the Oreo Snow and Mint Chocolate Chip, and they were impressed with what they ordered as well. The service was above par, and the ambiance was clean and simple but fit the season with Halloween decorations. read more

We were offered so many samples and tried almost everything before settling on a double scoop (+$1 to mix and match 2 different flavors) - the Oreo caramel fudge for one and festive cake (chocolate cheesecake) for the other. The consistency is a bit inconsistent - the Oreo caramel that was on top was extremely soft and melty after only 2 minutes, while the festive cake stayed firm even after we finished the top scoop. Cheesecake flavor in the festive cake wasn't very strong but there were huge chunks of what looked to be chocolate cake or cookies. We found generous amounts of Oreo chunks in the Oreo caramel and the caramel flavor in the base was prominent too! Overall, the flavors were great but not exceptional. The other flavors are definitely interesting and pretty strong but as a result, not all pleasant e.g. I love butterscotch but this version had a slight liquor (liqueur?) taste which some people may like. read more

We came here for a treat after dinner, it was a nice place with plenty of seating. They had lots of different ice cream flavors. We got a few different items to try and we were all happy with our selections. I had the strawberry matcha latte, it was very good. Dumont Creamery and Cafe was a fun stop for ice cream with some really cool and unique flavors. We tried the kheer and the hokey pokey and both were delicious. It is not every day you find flavors like that and it made the visit feel special and memorable. A nice little spot where classic treats meet bold flavors. We went on a Saturday night and parking was pretty tough because of all the clubs in the area. We ended up finding street parking but had to do a short walk to get to the cafe. There were a lot of drunk people around at that time which was a bit uncomfortable since we had our daughter with us. During those late hours it definitely did not feel like a family atmosphere and the crowd was more rowdy than relaxed. That said the service was great. The staff let us try samples before deciding and were really friendly. They also serve coffee and even offered to pour coffee over the ice cream which sounded good but it was too late in the night for me to go for it. I am sure the vibe is much calmer during the day. I would come back again for the flavors and the service just not on a club night. A great place for adventurous ice cream just better enjoyed when the streets are quieter. read more
NEW Must Try - Ice Cream and Coffee Cafe POV: You just found your next hangout spot for the summer @dumont.usa just opened their first location in San Jose, CA right in the heart of downtown next to @sanpedrosocialsj . The perfect spot with all the right vibes. Workers were so nice and let us taste-test every flavor and our top choices were Biscoff, Mint Chocoate Chip, and Strawberry Chunk. Thankfully they have a flight open so we don't have to choose just one! They also have a lot of drink options for the perfect pairing. Give their iced Kheer a try and it'll change your world! read more

I enjoyed my experience at Dumont. The place was large and gave - quick stop, take out or solo working vibes (maybe it was the lighting or acoustics). It was very hard to find...some street signs may be helpful. I did a few circles around the area (by foot) until I found a little corner, hit that, walked a bit and found a sign...by that time it's too late. I appreciate the staff were friendly and let me sample ice cream. I thought the ice cream flavors were good, but really caught my attention was the cardamom and latte. I grabbed an iced one to go, requested it with almond milk and less sweet. It was good - strong cardamom flavor though so maybe not for everyone. read more
Love the ice cream here. Review will by for that. Their ice cream texture is nice and creamy. It is a bit on the sweeter side but it's great! A lot of seating available and outdoor area available. It's located inside San Pedro square area. A lot of nearby shops and really hard to miss! Great place for a grab and go treat. read more

This place has been added to our Greatest Hits Collection simply because of their consistency. Our arrival to the San Pedro Square Market was filled with wonder as this old, previously decrepit location has been gentrified and cared for in our absence. Having moved away years ago, we are happy to find that several key figures came together to complete a much needed renovation to the area. Now that I'm thoroughly off-topic, let me return us the heart of the matter: I dropped by Dumont to simply pick up and iced coffee so that we could further explore the sights and sounds. Do not let the creamery aspect fool you, because coffee is a huge priority for them. I picked up an Oatmilk iced CAFE MIELE and was floored by the quality. The espresso was pronounced and delicious. I can taste hints of honey and cinnamon. After a short walk and a yummy visit to a nearby Japanese BBQ joint, we knew we were heading out, so the kids wanted to return to Dumont for ice cream, and so I opted for another iced beverage. One got a blended MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP ice cream shake and the other picked up a scoop of their COOKIE DOUGH ice cream. I sampled both and they were outright criminal in how good they were. I opted, this time, for their oatmilk iced BLACKBERRY WHITE MOCHA. I freaking loved this concoction. The hint of bittersweet blackberry mixed with the cozy creamy white mocha was a trip to flavor heaven! Oh, the service was great, there is plenty of searing for being tucked away between to large restaurants. And they have a bathroom available. We will be coming back for more, no doubt about it. read more

Tucked away in San Pedro Square between O'Flaherty's and Serious Dumpling you'll find Dumont!! Be mindful of the address leading you to the Almaden Ave side by car but I had no issues with GPS leading me properly by walking. First thing you notice when you walk in is their clean decor with fun facts on their coffee beans and the history of San Pedro Square including when they opened. Plenty of chargers around for those that want to come here to focus. Dumont Creamery and Cafe as the name suggests carries ice creams, coffee, and milk tea. My daughter and I got ice cream and the guy here is so friendly when he saw my daughter is a mint ice cream fan. Our ice creams were very creamy and I enjoyed having the Hokey Pokey with the drip coffee flavor. My friend got the lychee lust drink and some thing he noted he didn't taste much lychee in the drink itself besides for the lychee toppings. For the fun of it we got an iced Americano just to try the coffee and it didn't disappoint to me but my friend found it too strong. So it really depends on the person. Dumont is open late so if you're ever craving a treat in San Pedro Square definitely consider stopping by here! read more
This is a franchise location; the ice cream is manufactured in Texas and shipped in. Hadish is the owner and is very friendly. The flavors I sampled were great: 4.7: Autum Spice shortbread (fall flavor). Good baking spice flavor. 4.7: La Ferrero. Just like the chocolates. Great. 4.7: Cookies and cream caramel. 4.5: Witch's Orchard Treat (fall flavor). It has apple chunks mixed-in that are too icy, but the flavor is great. read more
