Probably toast the bottom so it can hold on longer since this was juiciest burger we ever had. It was cooked well to my liking though. We were at a booth for four, and the booths are comfortable and clean. The layout of the restaurant is efficient, and perfect for the dining experience FSC is offering. And the food? Off the charts 5/5! I hadn't had pancakes in a long time, so I ordered the blueberry pancakes. The two pancakes were both massive and delicious. Fresh blueberries in the batter and on top, and they were perfectly ripe and flavorful. I can't envision anyone actually finishing all of it, but I was happy to take home leftovers. The pancakes were fluffy and light, among the best I have ever had. I also had a side of the house-cured bacon, which I requested crispy, and which arrived perfectly crispy and delicious. Mrs. K had the blue cheese burger and loved it. I was granted a taste, and I agreed. Juicy, prepared exactly as ordered, and served with exceptional fries that were crispy outside and soft inside. Our friends had various forms of eggs and bacon, including a dish FSC calls Beggin' For Bacon. The egg dishes looked perfect, and our friends confirmed they tasted as perfect as they looked. Maybe you can ask for them extra crispy? The next time I visited I had a BBQ chicken sandwich. The chicken was kinda dry, the sauce tasted good though. I also didn't like how it was assembled, it seemed kinda tossed on the bun and sent out. They are so busy here, and I wish they would just take a little extra time in the kitchen to make the food as great as the service. This is like a 3.5 star, with the great service and the decent food. Would I ever come here out of choice? Probably not. Would I throw up a big fuss if friends wanted to come here? I don't think I could do a stack of 3 since the sweetness most definitely would build overtime but worth a 1-pancake kinda try. Carne Asada Sandwich: The bread looks to be thick and dense but it has nice fluff and give. The only downside is the sandwich tends to fall apart as you bite into it, but otherwise the combo itself is great. Service was easy, friendly, and efficient, and the whole place has a wonderfully unpretentious neighborhood feel. Orphan is officially becoming a Sacramento must for me. It didn't taste frozen or cheap it tasted fresh, was cooked perfectly, and was just pure deliciousness. Raul was our server and was awesome. Super attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Somebody needs to give Raul a raise and while you're at it, give the chef one too because whoever is back there cooking clearly knows what the hell they're doing. The ambiance is relaxed, and the staff stays on top of everything without being overbearing. There's also a nice variety when it comes to both the food and drinks. Not the best but decent. 4) spinach salad: this entree looked fresh and inviting. fresh spinach leaves, covered with fresh strawberries, pieces of cold chicken, avocados slices, and real crispy bacon bits. dressing arrived on the side. very nice salad even with the cold chicken. 5) garden omelette: filled with veggies(spinach, bell peppers, onions, zucchini). my only complaint: slightly overcooked which makes a fuffy omelette into a somewhat tough scrambled egg omelette. This dish also comes with 2 large pancakes. there were a few little mishaps. it took some time before our wait staff took our order and even longer before our food arrived.
