My last review of Hot Off The Griddle was in February 2020 before the world shut down. I believe this was our third or forth time visiting and I forgot how much we loved it. We were immediately greeted by multiple staff when we walked in and seated right after. We arrived a little after 9am and it was already bustling, but it still felt homey. We ordered the Special which was a Carnitas Breakfast Burrito and a Lil Breakfast with an Over Easy Egg, Potatoes and Sausage. My husband also ordered a Bloody Mary. The food came out quick and hot - my husband really liked the burrito and it was massive, he ate half and I took the other half for lunch today. I loved the Lil Breakfast - it was the perfect amount of food. The real winner was the breakfast sausage links though - so so good, made in house and it shows! The coffee was good and constantly flowing - their Mimosa menu is insane. I didn't even order one, but still stared at the menu for about 5 minutes. Mitchell took great care of us too! Overall, this is one of our favorite breakfast spots - we're already talking about coming back on Saturday! Check them out and show them some love! read more

From the SF Bay Area, Have had great Crispy country potatoes with bits of caramelized onion and bacon, And potatoes that were browned - this was NOT THAT. Came here on Labor Day Monday with a group of seven, and we had such a great experience. The service was prompt, the wait time was short, and everything came out fresh and hot. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was amazing - perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The mango mimosa was an even better addition, and honestly, I'd come back just for that. Every main dish also came with a side of fluffy pancakes, which were spot-on and made the meal feel complete. Now, I'll say the aesthetic isn't the fanciest, but that's not what you come here for. You come here for the service and the food, and they absolutely delivered on both. One detail that really stood out: my niece wanted a gumball from the machine by the register, and I didn't have a quarter. The young man at the register was kind enough to hand her one - such a small gesture, but it really showed how welcoming and family-friendly this spot is. I'm from out of town and have been here twice - once during the weekend (when there's a wait time) and once during the weekday (around 8am when there was plenty of seating. This place is the perfect breakfast spot. Big portions, tasty food, great service. This is also a great place for brunch with PLENTY of mimosa offerings. There's lots of places to sit but again during the weekend it gets busy but thankfully it is attached to a parking lot. All in all come here for good ol' diner food! Well that was really good! Lots and lots of food for the money. I was able to order three dishes and feed four people (2 were XL dishes). Chicken fried steak was well executed including some tasty gravy. Not much pepper in it, but you can add some on the table. Great pancakes! Fluffy and light, thick and round, just great. Band G's were good enough to take home for later. Sausage patties were good too! And the fries! I almost forgot the fries! They were amazing (especially dipped in gravy). Service was good, not great. But the wait was short to be seated and to get the food once we ordered. And they were busy on a Sunday. Let me say first , the portions are very very generous here. You will walk out full. I ordered an Eggs Benedict and wow, it was huge for breakfast. But I gobbled it all, well most of it lol. The eggs were cooked perfectly, nice a yolky as they should. The ham was thick. So very good. My potato bits were seasoned nicely and the dish had a side of fruits which was just the topper. Solid breakfast place up north. I always seek a new spot to try on my early days, so this was perfect. In my opinion, this place is good, not great. My corned beef and hash was definitely not standard or the store bought variety, but it was slow cooked for 6 hrs and I appreciated that. The potatoes were well seasoned, but I prefer them to be crispier. Eggs are eggs. I always opt for an extra egg for the protein and to balance out the meal better. The biscuit was definitely made in house, but was a little dry for my taste. It was still palatable. They have a nice menu and place seemed pretty packed for a Wednesday late morning. The service is simple and quick. They have a very large counter area that I sat at and really liked. You have quite a bit of space. I took a video for you guys to appreciate the vibe. First time in.... Friendly service with a smile at 7:30am. Place was already hopping, which bodes well for it being a legit find. Menu had some really nice breakfast options with all the basics; eggs, meats, pancakes, waffles, omelettes, Benedict's, scrambles, and of course biscuits and gravy!!! Another nice feature is the ability to order a larger portion (XL plates) down to small portions. Basic strip mall type interior that's kept clean and well ventilated, which is super important given the amount of cooking going on in the kitchen! Coffee black this visit, so can't comment on any of the juices or other mixed drinks. Lots of mimosas and cocktails with a small beer and wine list available if that's your breakfast thing! Since it's my first visit I had to go with biscuits and gravy w/scrambled eggs and sausage links. Biscuits are good sized and just the right mix of fluffy/consisntecy. I'm not a fan of dense biscuits, nor do I like them too fluffy. These hit the mark! Bacon based gravy, not the traditional sausage so it hits a little different, and is really good! Two eggs scrambled really seemed like four.... So perfect!! Sausage links were also decent sized and perfect for cutting into 6 slices each to enjoy with epic bites of BnG and egg. I am allergic to green onions and they were not mentioned on the menu. Either mention it or waitress ought to.... I always try to order food that doesn't have them. I like that the manager/owner would come out to help and serve when he noticed some of the servers getting overwhelmed. They have two TVs going so if people were interested to watch. I would say it can get a little disorganized as walking in there is the counter to pay as well to check in people to get seated so if there a few people waiting to pay the people waiting to get seated might wait a bit as there is only one line for both. Restaurant is clean the staff is friendly and super attentive doesn't matter if you say no I'm good I don't need anything, they will continue to ask, and the food (a little on the high side $$$), but you definitely get what you pay for. This isn't the place you go to when you're just a little hungry. The portions are big enough to share or plan on taking a box of leftovers home with you. Even on the little orders. Upon opening the door the room smelled so sweet like donuts. The decorations were really cute here. And they had Halloween cut outs for the kids to take pictures in. The service was really nice. I loved how often they asked to refill coffee, water etc. The food was of great portion and tasty. I can't complain with that. I did not like how my bacon was soggy. It was put on the bottom of my plate and then the rest of the food was on top. This is why I knocked down a star. I like having my bacon somewhat crispy ! (Luckily my friends bacon piece was great) I also wish I could have added and created my own plate. Not really excited that I'd have to pay extra to add fruit instead of subbing out my potatoes or that toast didn't come with the option I wanted. I usually like having eggs, toast, bacon, sausage , fruit and a choice to add a pancake or waffle or toast ... With the options provided I didn't seem like I could get all of that under $20. Most places only have cubed ice. We had the Denver omelet and XL chicken fried steak. Both were good. Omelet was average portion size. Great portion on the other plate. Potatoes well-seasoned. I love getting vegetable omelets so that's what I got but I guess I should have asked what the fresh vegetables were inside it before ordering it, it had asparagus and it wasn't cooked as long as I'd prefer it to be cooked but other then that it was so yummy.
