    No Egg-Scape (Eggs Benedict)

Started with a cinnamon role. Presentation was amazing. It was warmed and resembled the local donut shop served warm with added frosting. We order the eggs Benedict with country potatoes, breakfast burger and breakfast tacos. It's always nice to be served breakfast and enjoy a place close to home. The potatoes were fried pieces of potato and garnished with a tablespoon of cooked peppers and onions. The burger was better with beef and pork, egg topper. The tacos tasted like cooked hamburger meat, not chorizo. It could be us, as our expectations were more in line with the Portland Oregon breakfast scene. Toasted Rooster is definitely a step up on those waffle and chain breakfast stops, put two steps behind the Portland breakfast scene. The thing that bothered me the most was the sales tax. They are charging sales tax as if they are in the City of Sacramento, not the county. The extra1% they charge I hope that the staff gets the $$

I came on a Sunday and only waited a few mins for a table for two. We were sat at a quiet booth towards the back of the restaurant. This place definitely seems like a place better fit for group brunches who can take advantage of their mimosa deals. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. The carne asade fries seemed very low effort and quite sloppy when put together. The steak was cooked pretty perfectly and well seasoned. Again, nothing spectacular but fine for a quick Sunday meal.

CHURRO pancakes!!! Ummm, yeah!!! I saw that on the menu and I had to have it! My bestie and I came here for breakfast yesterday, after our walk on the American river. We were hungry! I always order something sweet and savory for breakfast. Decided on the churro pancake combo. Came with eggs and choice of protein. I got both bacon and sausages. The churro itself wasn't as sweet, that's how I like them! It was a satisfying breakfast. Ordered a Guava Passion fruit mimosa also. That was delicious! My bestie got their Old McDonald. We had Marissa as our waitress, superb service from her! We'll definitely be back again!

I wanted to love this place! We were in search of a brunch spot with outdoor seating that took reservations as part of our party had a doctor appointment after lunch to make. I saw the sign saying "we are not a fast food restaurant" and realized I may have made a mistake. Server wasn't to blame, as it was only her to all of the outside and some of the inside tables. She was hustlin', but it took a while to get our waters and order taken. I think from the time we sat down to the time our food came out was a little over an hour. We all ordered a variety of dishes, but the overall sentiment was "it was fine". The food looks great, and scratches the itch for brunch, but it's on par for what I'd expect for brunch food. I think the churro pancakes were the standout item. After all was said and done, we probably would have ended up in and out quicker at a spot without a reservation :( Toasted Rooster would have received 4 stars from me had it not been for the long wait - I'm knocking off a full star just for that.

Very busy for a Tuesday morning! They could definitely use at least one more waitress for the tables, we were well taken care of but it looked like one person was doing everything. Food was good! They were able to accommodate our requests. Cute place!

Found this spot on YELP.! And let's just say it's literally the best chicken fried steak hands down! The ambiance is definitely a vibe and everyone is very friendly and attentive. Love this spot for brunch! While the parking lot is on the smaller side, there are plenty of tables available inside. The menu is adorable--it features a cute little rooster that looks like Hei Hei from Moana! I ordered the banana walnut pancake combo with sausage and eggs, along with a coffee. Everything was delicious. The servers are incredibly attentive and kind, constantly checking in to see if we need anything. My friends loved their food, too! Overall, a fantastic experience--highly recommend.

Had a wonderful time dining here for breakfast on a Saturday morning with my partner! Tucked away in sacramento, it's a restaurant with lots of personality and great food! We arrived around 9 am and were sat immediately. Arriving early was a good move since they hit their breakfast rush around 10 pm! It's an energetic place with friendly and attentive staff. They do take reservations! I ordered the half chicken fried sandwich with scrambled eggs with a side of tater tots and a Nutella waffle. I was so happy by the portion size as pictures don't do it justice. The sandwich was hefty with so much gravy and scrambled eggs in the sandwich. So delicious, mouthwatering, and crunchy. The tater tots were so crispy and tasty. The Nutella waffle had such a great heaping amount of Nutella! So soft, warm, and sweet! A wonderful experience to dine here!

Easy to make reservations the day before It doesn't look like much from the outside and parking was packed, but we seemed to get there right at the right time (10:30am on a Saturday) as a few people were leaving. There is a check-in iPad when you walk up, its cute and quaint inside. The menu had so many options and seems they may change their mimosa menu monthly. My cousin got a sweet and savory plate (#3) - but it seemed to be a lot smaller portion than expected. I got the biscuits and gravy. We didn't have to wait too long and food and service was good. If in the area again I would try again.

Yep, we went 2 this spot again & had a fantastic experience!!! Our waitress was Jazzy & I hope we get her every time. My daughter & I like 2 split a savory & sweet items @ breakfast. We got an omelette called the Chick-Inn=bacon, sausage, avocado & cheese, sour dough toast & hash browns. For the sweet items= blueberry pancakes w/ the blueberries inside. I asked for an extra plate & Jazzy did the next best thing!!! Gave us each our own mini omelette & put the blueberry pancakes on separate plates!!! I was soooo impressed!!! The mini omelettes were perfect & delish!!! Hashbrowns & toast=yum!!!! And the blueberry pancakes ......SOOOOO GOOD!!! Love looking @ all the rooster decor!!! Great job 2day!!!

We like going here for a cozy brunch. I recommend joining the waitlist asap because it can get pretty busy - especially if you're going on a holiday like Mother's Day! They always have great cocktail options (even flights to try their featured drinks!) Food is typical diner food, but I'd rather support a woman owned small diner than a chain! I was really craving pancakes and the chocolate chip pancakes hit the spot. They weren't too busy so the waitress was able to check in on us frequently. They do have a parking lot but both times we have been, it's been full. The neighborhood does NOT have public parking, so you'll need to drive around a bit for a spot.

Man this place brought back so many great memories of when I was a kid. This location was home to Eggie's, a spot my mom and I would frequent. We had the entertainment coupon book and they were a staple in that book. The portions here are huge, food is awesome and service hits every mark. Parking lot is big but it fills pretty quick. And finding a spot can be a bit of a hassle, but don't give up. Be sure to sign up on the waitlist via Yelp and skip the line! Must try's here are the breakfast burrito's, home fries and their house made gravy! Toasted Rooster is now in the breakfast rotation when we go out :)

Do they serve gluten-free pancakes, waffles, or French toast?

I do see gluten-free on their menu, but not for pancakes, waffles or French toast

What time is breakfast/brunch served until on weekends?

I believe they close at 3pm

Do you have gluten free pancakes, waffles or gf French toast?

We do not prep these items. While we do have the ability, the cooks do need ample time to prepare- so just know that they are made to order and take a bit longer to cook.

Fantastic Spot To "Pregame" Shows @ Goldfields Next Door…read more SITREP We descended upon the Tack Room an hour before our show for "Ally The Piper" (both the classical AND heavy metal bagpiper extraordinaire) began her show! THE SETUP Goldfields is a charming, rustic country-western stylized saloon that serves up beer at good prices. But we weren't interested in beer and wanted quality cocktails. Hence, our pivot next door to the Tack Room! QUALITY COCKTAILS & DRINKS! It's themed around horse racing, but not in an overbearing or... tacky way. The mixologist was delightful and had great recommendations, the lights were dim, and the drinks were all on point. The highlight was the espresso martini, which is among the best I've had. It was reminiscent of the one I had at the Starbucks Roastery in NYC, which is high praise. The other coffee drink that surprised me was the Revolver. I always forget about what a good pairing orange and coffee is, and I'll be taking this one back home with me to try! Every other drink we tried was delicious in some unique way. The Pho drink was savory and surprising, the New York Sour was rich and flavorful, and the Practical Move was refreshing. Will definitely return here after dinner to sip an espresso martini for dessert!

It combines a modern chic look with an abundance of plants, making for one of the more creative places I've been to. "Gorgeous" is the most fitting word to describe the overall experience. I took my date here for dinner and drinks. The Classic Burger held up relatively average but the fries had a standout savory taste to them. I would order the fries alone if I stop by again. As for drinks, I opted for the Strawberry Rosé Slushee; it's refreshing and the perfect choice for brunch or happy hour. It tastes modestly sweet so I would caution downing more than a couple of these at the risk of a hangover. The Purple Haze (mainly ube foam on blanco tequila) is unfortunately nothing short of a flop. To be fair, I'm negatively biased toward anything tequila in the first place, but this drink tastes like straight tequila. The ube foam doesn't contribute to the taste and awkwardly floats on the surface. TLDR: beautiful interior, good food, and decent drinks (depending on what you get).
