My favorite Denver omelette is from the Toasted Rooster! The ham is moist and flavorful, the eggs are cooked to perfection, and the fresh vegetables are sautéed just right. The crispy tater tots on the side really set it off. It's also my son's favorite place to get a waffle, although I didn't get a picture before he dug in! The waitresses are always warm and friendly. They don't just provide good service--they understand true hospitality and make us feel welcome every time. Started with a cinnamon role. Presentation was amazing. It was warmed and resembled the local donut shop served warm with added frosting. We order the eggs Benedict with country potatoes, breakfast burger and breakfast tacos. It's always nice to be served breakfast and enjoy a place close to home. The potatoes were fried pieces of potato and garnished with a tablespoon of cooked peppers and onions. The burger was better with beef and pork, egg topper. The tacos tasted like cooked hamburger meat, not chorizo. It could be us, as our expectations were more in line with the Portland Oregon breakfast scene. Toasted Rooster is definitely a step up on those waffle and chain breakfast stops, put two steps behind the Portland breakfast scene. The thing that bothered me the most was the sales tax. I came on a Sunday and only waited a few mins for a table for two. We were sat at a quiet booth towards the back of the restaurant. This place definitely seems like a place better fit for group brunches who can take advantage of their mimosa deals. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. I wanted to love this place! We were in search of a brunch spot with outdoor seating that took reservations as part of our party had a doctor appointment after lunch to make. I saw the sign saying "we are not a fast food restaurant" and realized I may have made a mistake. Server wasn't to blame, as it was only her to all of the outside and some of the inside tables. She was hustlin', but it took a while to get our waters and order taken. I think from the time we sat down to the time our food came out was a little over an hour. We all ordered a variety of dishes, but the overall sentiment was "it was fine". The food looks great, and scratches the itch for brunch, but it's on par for what I'd expect for brunch food. I think the churro pancakes were the standout item. After all was said and done, we probably would have ended up in and out quicker at a spot without a reservation :( Toasted Rooster would have received 4 stars from me had it not been for the long wait - I'm knocking off a full star just for that. read more

Love this spot for brunch! While the parking lot is on the smaller side, there are plenty of tables available inside. The menu is adorable--it features a cute little rooster that looks like Hei Hei from Moana! I ordered the banana walnut pancake combo with sausage and eggs, along with a coffee. Easy to make reservations the day before It doesn't look like much from the outside and parking was packed, but we seemed to get there right at the right time (10:30am on a Saturday) as a few people were leaving. There is a check-in iPad when you walk up, its cute and quaint inside. The menu had so many options and seems they may change their mimosa menu monthly. We like going here for a cozy brunch. I recommend joining the waitlist asap because it can get pretty busy - especially if you're going on a holiday like Mother's Day! They always have great cocktail options (even flights to try their featured drinks!) Food is typical diner food, but I'd rather support a woman owned small diner than a chain! As soon as you walk in, it is clearly a fun atmosphere where the mimosas come in several fun flavors (each with a Greek mythology theme). For food, we got: 1. Fearless Burger: Loved it! A patty of half beef and half chorizo mixed together on a toasted to perfection brioche bun. Sauced with a spicy aioli sauce, it is a "YUM"! 2. Living in the area for almost 9 years, and only once I moved elsewhere, I tried this establishment out. Shame on me! There was a fair amount of parking, but can imagine with a packed house, it might be an issue due to its location. I arrived around 745am on a weekday and there were already a decent amount of people seated. I was greeted and seated right away. Prior to looking over the menu, the server quickly asked if I would like any beverages or coffee which I appreciated. They brought it very quickly. Decor wasn't anything too flashy. I ended up getting the mother clucker. Loved it! The servings was very generous, and the server frequented re-pouring coffee - score! Too legit! I ordered a breakfast pizza which cost about $18 and had a coffee for about $4.50. To be honest, both were fantastic. The drip wasn't bitter and the breakfast pizza was like another level of breakfast burrito or whatever. Drizzle some hot spice on that baby and you'll be full for most of the day. They have a private parking lot which had a ton of parking. The service was fantastic as well, very attentive and offered fantastic conversation. We went here on a Sunday around 11:00 AM, and the restaurant was packed. Parking was a bit rough, and we had to circle back around, and fortunately, a car was leaving. We put ourselves on the wait list and were seated within a few minutes. The staff were running around and were all really nice. The food did come out before my coffee, which was a bit strange, but with how busy it was, I didn't mind. The food was pretty good. I think there could have been a bit more flavor from the chorizo, but I really enjoyed all the toppings and the portion sizes. We were able to choose any table to sit at, and the menus were already laid out for us. I decided to order the chip & cheep, which were grits served with bacon, eggs your way, and toast. The waitress also asked me if I wanted additional cheese melted into my grits but I thought that would just be overdoing it so I opted for the regular butter that it came with. The grits were hot, creamy and a great comfort food item. The bacon was salty and crispy, my over easy eggs were made perfectly and the sourdough I got was thick and soft, perfect for dipping into my yolk. This morning my wife and some friends arrived at the Orangevale location for Breakfast and were told it would be a 5 to 10 minute wait. but when we arrived there was apparently more than five empty tables available to be seated. We waited for 15 minutes and still no action from the staff to be seated. My friends left and so did we. I got the impression that the staff on duty didn't care about people waiting. Sacramento has some of the most adorable places to eat. Searching yelp for places that have gluten free options this one popped up. We found this restaurant adorable. We were welcomed immediately upon walking in, sat and had our drinks within 2 minutes. The longest part was us deciding what we would be trying. The menu is filled with so many options with clever and unique names. The vibe of this place is country with a sense of humor. I absolutely love it! I ordered the breakfast pizza ... amazing flavor! The scrambles and hamburger steak breakfast were also a hit! However I have to say that the gluten free pancakes were the highlight here! I always love a restaurant that provide a dietary alternative to those people especially our kiddos who cant eat off the regular menus.
