Never having been to a seafood boil restaurant before, we decided to give Bag O Crab's new Clovis location a try..and we're glad we did! We ordered Combo #2 with the medium heat level. Unfortunately, they hadn't received their liquor license yet, so I went with a soda instead. The food came out incredibly fast, in about five minutes or less, and it arrived piping hot. The staff provided everything we needed, including bibs, gloves, and the other essentials. We definitely used the bib and gloves! The gloves were a little large for us, so we may bring our own next time, but we appreciated that they had everything ready to go. Once we cut open the bag, we got to work! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed every bite and ended up finishing everything except maybe half of a potato. The service was excellent throughout our visit. Our soda refills were brought without us even having to ask, which is always appreciated and shows they were paying attention. Overall, we had a great first experience. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere made for a fun meal. We'll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items!

Came here soft opening week and they already have the flow down. This is their second location in town. Serving some seriously good seafood broil. I got a bit of everything during our family dinner. The dungeon crab was a pretty darn good size. Meat tasted fresh. I also got 3 lobster tail, probably favorite. Oh goodness they were soooo good. They were not overcooked, no rubbery texture, just fresh. Along with that we got some shrimp cause I love shrimp. In addition some of the add ons were sausages which was delicious, corn a must have, potatoes, and eggs. The sauce was the atomic sauce mild, but still gave enough kick. My lips were definitely burning a bit. Overall, the broil itself was 10/10. From sauce to proteins and add on times, everything was very good. We got some fries and they were freshly made. The garlic noodles were good but felt like I had better 6.8/10. Okay the Fish Po Boy sandwich was a hit! Deep fried fish in a sandwich, so good surprisingly. And bbq wings were. Pretty good as well. Customer service was fantastic, the gal that took my order was nice and was patient with me while I ordered. She gave out drinks right away and had all utensils provided. The restaurant does play music , couple with guest inside, it can be quite lively during peak hours. Restrooms and clean. Great experience, had a nice chat with the manager and food was great. I recommend you checking it out.

Great customer service! Reasonable priced. We ordered the atomic sauce. It was good ; Will return to try other menu items

Bag O' Crab's new Clovis location on the northeast corner of Herndon and Fowler is a fantastic addition, serving up the same delicious, messy seafood boils and menu favorites as their Fresno spot! Located in a highly popular, always-busy plaza, parking can definitely be a headache, so be prepared to hunt for a spot during peak hours. The food was absolutely spot-on, the staff handled the bustling crowd beautifully, and getting a 10% discount during their Soft Opening first week made the messy feast taste even better.

We ordered Combo #1 with 1 lb. shrimp head on, 1 lb. clam, 2 potatoes, 2 corn, and 4 sausage. We ordered it with atomic seasoning and medium spice, which had a nice kick to it (not overly spicy). Our server was very friendly and service was great because they made sure we were taken care of. Drinks were refilled when low. The restaurant was spacious, well-decorated, with a big TV if you want to watch sports.

The food was absolutely fabulous, but what truly made the evening special was our waitress, Anne. Anne has a cheerful, professional personality that immediately made us feel welcome. She was attentive, friendly, and helped make our family celebration feel extra special. She checked on us throughout the meal, anticipated our needs, and always did so with a genuine smile. Celebrating a 92nd birthday is a memorable occasion, and Anne played a big part in making it such a joyful experience. Outstanding service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere--we couldn't have asked for a better evening. Thank you, Anne, and the entire Pismo's team for helping us create such a special memory for Grandma! Happy 91nd Birthday to Grandma! What a wonderful milestone to celebrate with family.

QUICK TAKE Get: Blackened Salmon Tacos Skip: Ultimate Combo Louie, Shrimp Cocktail, Grilled Alaskan Halibut Know: Several of the seafood dishes tasted dry or tired, and the meal did not feel worth the price. The only thing I would recommend is the Blackened Salmon Tacos. They come with fire-roasted salsa, avocado, cabbage-cilantro slaw, pico de gallo and lime crema. These had much better flavor, texture, and balance than the rest of our meal. Unfortunately, the other seafood was where things really fell apart. Ultimate Combo Louie: This comes loaded with jumbo prawns, shrimp and Dungeness crab, so at $38 I expected it to feel like a premium seafood salad. It didn't. The seafood lacked freshness and the shrimp in particular were soft and soggy. Shrimp Cocktail: Probably the most disappointing item. The shrimp tasted old and had a limp, waterlogged texture instead of being firm and fresh. Grilled Alaskan Halibut: At $42, this should have been one of the highlights. Instead, the fish was dry and overcooked, which is especially frustrating with a piece of halibut at this price. Hoisin Brussels Sprouts: Way too sweet for me. The sweetness completely overwhelmed the Brussels sprouts instead of complementing them.

Anyways, with regards to the food, my partner and I got some spicy baked mussels to share, with a ribeye steak and lamb chops for entrees. The mussels were pretty underwhelming - I felt that it was just spicy for the sake of being spicy and didn't offer much in terms of flavor. With the entrees, we asked for the lamb chops to be cooked medium but they came rare, whereas the steak did come in medium rare as ordered. The lamb chops were okay but the steak was extremely salty and a bit too charred; I had to wash down my bites with water. With both entrees we were given a choice of either rice pilaf or garlic baked potatoes. The rice pilaf legit tasted like elementary school lunch rice (the ones with the teriyaki meat patties if you recall the 2000s, iykyk). The potatoes were alright, not bad but not great. Also wanted to note that both dishes came with like 2-3 tiny cherry tomatoes which is barely anything and would last you at most a couple of bites. Last thing I wanted to note is pricing. The lamb chops were in the upper $30s and the steak was $59, which pretty overpriced imo for whay is presented. Of course, that's also on me for trying to go for a "16 oz" steak (which I kinda doubt it was) vs. their pastas or other popular dishes but I think it's worth pointing out. All in all, I really think you can get much better bang for your buck at other semi-fancy/fancy places such as LimeLite or Willow Osteria to name a couple of examples. I would give this a 1 but the service was admittedly quite solid. Sadly, I don't think we'll come back.

When we first visited, it was also one of the few Asian restaurants open during the holidays, which made getting that reservation feel even more special. Coming from Vegas, the beau is especially particular about sushi, and Oiza successfully exceeded expectations. As for me, having dined at Japanese restaurants from Nobu and Morimoto to Michelin-starred experiences, I was equally impressed by the ambience, service, presentation and overall execution. It also makes sense that the operation feels seasoned: Oiza is part of Lin's Restaurant Group, the same local family behind other Fresno-area favorites including Hino Oishi, J-Pot, Spicy J's, Ramen Hayashi and Lin's Fusion. It's obvious the staff has been properly trained in both front- and back-of-house fine dining operations. We've now dined here three times -- each for a different experience -- and Oiza has delivered. First Holidate: Fabulous evening from start to finish. Everyone from our server to management checked in on us, service felt polished without being intrusive, and we appreciated the elegant attention to detail. Bonus points for being seated side by side. We ended up closing out the restaurant as the last two guests to leave. Hamachi ceviche -- Exactly what an appetizer should do: whet your appetite for more. Salmon spoons -- Tasty little bites. Wagyu gyoza -- Rich and indulgent. Miso seabass -- If miso seabass is on the menu, I'm ordering it. Definitely a reorder. Hi Tuna roll -- Unique enough that we ordered it again on our second visit. Yellowtail & salmon sashimi -- Excellent quality and freshness. Second Celebradate: We returned to celebrate a special industry achievement and arrived just in time for our 5:45 p.m. reservation. Although I had booked directly through Oiza's website via Tock, the reservation didn't appear in their system. Fortunately, I had the email and text confirmations, and the team graciously accommodated us after a short wait. We repeated several favorites and ventured into a few new dishes: Hamachi ceviche -- Worth repeating. Grilled oysters -- A welcome addition to the table. Uni udon pasta -- The one miss for us. I wanted more uni and umami depth; the noodles were slightly overcooked and the sauce could have been smoother. Hi Tuna roll -- Just as good the second time. Amaebi & yellowtail sashimi -- Fresh and beautifully presented. Our server Itzy was wonderful throughout the evening and surprised us with a complimentary dessert. We would have ordered the matcha parfait if we hadn't been so full -- or if Dubai chocolate wasn't already waiting at home. Third time was the charm: We came back for Oiza's impressive luncheon specials and loaded up on several of our favorites while finally trying the temakis. The perfectly crunchy seaweed made every bite, and the lunch offerings were such delicious, incredible value. Even the takeaway bags deserve a mention -- sturdy enough that they've earned a second life as reusable lunch bags. Do: Make a reservation. Try the lunch specials. Buy the gift cards. Don't: Eat the towelettes. ;) From Holidate to Celebradate to lunch date, Oiza has earned its place among our favorite Fresno special-occasion eatsplorations -- with enough value and variety to make an ordinary afternoon feel worthy too.

We knew that it would be costly but can still be a surprise when the bill arrives, watch out for the drinks We only ordered what we had seen reviewed and listened to our servers recommendations. There are a few things we plan to go back and try though. Based on his recommendation we tried the scallop temaki and it was delicious but we still really want to try the scallop spoons. Everyone talked about the sushi so we tried the house Iza Sake roll, it was good but honestly didn't blow us away. So many reviews told us to splurge on the Wagu A-5 hot rock lettuce wraps. It was fun to have them cooked in front of us and the meat was buttery, I would say to save your money. Let them cook your fried rice in front of you for the ambiance and you get more for less money. It also has Wagu beef. We also tried the bone marrow and we liked it but I do believe it's an acquired taste. We had two mixed drinks the Hibiscus Shoga, very good, but a bit too sweet. Then the Kohahu Carmel Old Fashioned which was a recommendation and we love old fashions. This was good but way too sweet for us. I do recommend the Kurosawa Nigori. We plan to return to try the spoons and seafood risotto and maybe the lobster temaki. Also recommend going earlier than later. We had an 8pm reservation and the grill was cleaned at 9pm so it was a surprise to have the kitchen closed so early.
