Stopped by for lunch on a Thursday at 1 pm. Just four cars in the parking lot, wife and I weren't sure if they were open. A few homeless wandering around the neighborhood along with some encampments a block away. The restaurant used to be Newport Seafood Company and had been vacant for years. Besides turning on the thermostat, I don't think the new owners have done anything to the place. To offset the dated interior, they featured a robot who rolls around delivering food to the tables. Sometimes I did I helped myself other times the waitress presented the food. There was a wrong delivery to our table so I'm guessing some human programmed it wrong. Since we were seated right next to the kitchen despite literally a couple dozen open tables, the robots whizzing by and chirping got old quickly. Kids would like the novelty. The food... I've been to these places around the country under different names but they are all the same. My wife and I ordered Shrimp Po Boys and it was quite good but a little dry. I tried the clam chowder and was impressed. I looked into the bar and it was impressive and inviting but not really a drinking place for my tastes. Overall, meh... nothing good or bad. My family frequent the 82nd BOC location so decided to try the Salem one as we were in the area. We ordered the Combo 1 with shrimps & clams in butter garlic sauce and a Mixed Green Salad. Shrimps & Clams are fresh and the butter garlic sauce is beyond generous. If you love garlic without the spicy this is the sauce you want!! The green salad is of good size for the price & just a little nice addition to the seafood combo!! Staff are all friendly and welcoming! Restaurant is huge & seating is comfortable. Big lot for easy parking is a plus! Will definitely come back if we are traveling in the area. read more

Well, we tried the crab now. It was a fun night. The food was tasty but had no real Southern flare. We had a bag meal with crayfish and the waitress didn't know how to eat them. I had to look it up on YouTube. We educated her on that before we left. They have a robot that brings your food to the table. That was fun and my dad really liked the syfy flare. Well, for the new venture in town, I gave them a thumbs up. It was like maybe 10 minutes from the door to the table. Gave them another shot .... The Louisiana spice medium was good . Service not so good ! Shared 1 water between 4 people and I asked for a sprite and my waiter didn't even come back to ask if we were ok ! He literally dropped the food off and left . Also if you walked out and didn't pay no one would know because they take forever to give you your bill . So that will just be a no more coming here for me ! Had a nitemare on Friday night, so maybe people, the parking lot was full. Went in to get my reservations for 7 pm, and they told me sorry, it would be a while. As they were sitting people in the bar, as they came through the doors. I was like, can I get a table for 3. Eventually, we got our table in the bar, NOT our reservations table. THEY NEVER HONORED IT I could go on and on and on. The purpose of this review is for the management team to FIX THEIR RESERVATIONS PROGRAM. Dang! The seafood here is so fresh!! Never regret that to have a girls trip to Salem and passed by the restaurant just right next to the highway! The place is easy to find and have enough parking. The seafood here for sure was so gooooood, but the fresh fried chips and chicken wings even amazes me by its flavor. The staffs here have awesome service with details greetings and serve what we need in time. What I enjoy most is the ambiance, Clean and decent restroom, fancy robot to bring us the meal that we order, and all the smile.. which makes me even enjoy more our girls dating. I have eaten at the Portland location, but this location had better flavor. The ambiance is nice, and plenty of room to park, and eat. The restaurant was clean and staff were courteous. The combo #3 had tons of food and it was was packed with flavor. Such good service and they were friendly. 10/10 will definitely be there again.... as much as possible!! read more

Delicious food and great ambience. They have a fun little Robot driving around with entrees, which also kept the kids entertained. The Cajun sauce is to die for!! My only thing is that when the food comes out scorching hot and covered in sauce, it's hard to enjoy the food while it's hot. Having to wait ever so patiently for the bag of deliciousness to cool down is torture because the smells are amazing! Garlic noodles were also a big hit. Portions are also very large. I've been a frequent customer at the Portland SE 82nd location for many family and friends gatherings, for which this type of food is perfect for. Since the Salem location opened I been wanting to make a trip down there. So finally we did on a Sunday night. This place feels much more upscale than the Portland one, which feels like a fast food joint, but this place feels like a real restaurant, and not to mention plenty of parking. Our waitress Mia was quite pleasant. Food was served reasonably fast given it was quite busy, and by a robot of course lol. I ordered combo one with garlic butter shrimp clam and added mussels, that's my favorite and the flavor is consistent to what I am used to in Portland. I tried one of my friend's crab legs and I can tell it's very fresh. Overall I enjoyed the dining experience. Wish it's closer to Portland though. read more

Stopped by for Memorial Day dinner and this place was busy, but our server was attentive and made sure our drinks were filled while we waited for food. We ordered combo 1 with clams and mussels and garlic butter seasoning, Cajun fish with salad and rice sides, seafood pasta, and habanero chicken wings to shared, and the portions were very satisfying for 2 of us. The clams and mussels were fresh and go well with the mild garlic butter sauce, would totally recommend it! Cajun fish was true to the taste, and although I would hope the hanero wings could be more spicy, it's still juicy, so our order seem to be a good mix. The restaurant has a joyous dining ambiance, and it was right off the freeway which is easy to find when we back from a trip. read more

This was my first time ever eating bag-o-crab, I was pregnant, craving and I was very disappointed. The seafood boil was not good, the Louisiana and cajun seasoning was terrible. And the crawfish was over cooked and mushy, it was definitely not worth the $177 I spent. But I have heard the Portland locations are better, maybe I'll give it another try. The restaurant located close to highway 5, plenty of free parking, super clean restroom, my wife likes it. back to inside, internal is clean and a lot of seats, at least no need to wait during lunch time. The service is good, food-to-table time is quick, kids love the service robot, once removing the plate from the shelf, it goes back to kitchen. Cool. food is fresh, love the shrimp with head.. This place is completely on par with what I believe is a reasonable expectation. Food was piping hot, flavorful, spice was excellent (my nose was running with a medium and I'm a hatch green Chile eater so...), staff was fabulous and friendly, price point better than my previous crab boil joint in another state. I love how as soon as you enter, you are greeted by staff members, and are almost immediately taken to your table. I find the food to be a delicious burst of flavor.
