Chirashi!!! I always enjoy the chirashi - nice fresh fish with a salad and miso soup!!!!

Came by this evening to eat. Got seated right away and came around 7pm. Was greeted when we walked in and got sat down. It was a bit crowded in the tables area - so service was a bit slow but I eventually got my food served by 4 folks!!! I always enjoy eating at this place!!!

Chirashi bowl 4/5 - this was my favorite thing here. The fish is fresh but they gave too much rice. We couldn't finish all the rice. They put the rice and seaweed salad separate from the fish. Rolls 3/5 - not my favorite place for rolls. It was decent but nothing memorable or special.

I came here for a quick lunch on a Monday. The restaurant got very busy quickly because a lot of the patrons were working people celebrating birthdays or coworkers doing out to lunch. I ordered a chirashi bowl, the sashimi was served in a separate bowl and the sushi rice and seaweed was served in another bowl. The amount of sashimi was good, but the sushi rice seemed on the small side. The sashimi was fresh and the pieces were large, with a side salad and miso soup, but out the door with tip, the total cost was $40, slightly on the pricier side than I am used to. I do, however, give it a good rating despite the price, because it is a clean restaurant, people were waiting at the door to go inside at its opening time, and the sashimi was quite fresh. It's a place you can bring on a date or with your friends and family. This restaurant is located in Santa Clara, which I consider a more expensive neighborhood than in San Jose, it has many Korean restaurants nearby. There is plenty of parking outside in this outdoor mall. I would come back again for a meal if I were in this neighborhood.

went on a whim because of meatless friday. my party of 4 arrived at 11:30am (their opening time) but the doors were still locked. there were two other parties waiting as well. i don't know if this is what typically happens so don't go exactly at opening. the lady who "greeted" us was not the friendliest, honestly no one there was. we requested a booth but they said no. not sure why but there were only 2 other parties when they officially opened. it took us a while to peruse the menu and i'm glad they didn't rush us. the lady just told us to call us when we were ready. placed our food order of 3 sushi rolls, 12 pcs sashimi, hamachi crudo, vegetable udon, vegetable dumpling, and miso soups. food didn't take long to come out and we all were surprised how thick the sashimi cuts were. sushi was ok, not the best i've had. i wouldn't throw out sushi o sushi to people if we needed a sushi spot in the area. i tend to go to kenji sushi when im in this area. a fellow coworker just referred this spot and we went for it. not bad but not great as stated before. a plus if you're into kpop/blackpink ... because that's all they play there. it was their new deadline album too!

I came here with my friend to celebrate her birthday, and we ordered the dinner order of 15 piece salmon sashimi with 2 piece salmon nigiri. This came with miso soup and salad, which we split amongst 3 people. The fish was very fresh, it's a bit pricy but the rolls here look amazing! This place had decent traffic on a weekday dinner.

There are so many sushi places in South Bay, but this one is up there when people say let's go get sushi! There are two big reasons I really like this spot. The first one is the sashimi. I always get the sashimi dinner plate with tuna salmon and hamachi. The pieces are thick and really good quality. Probably some of the best quality hamachi sashimi that I've had at a sushi restaurant. Second reason is the variety of sushi rolls. And not just the variety, the menu has pictures!!!!!!! The pictures is a big thing for me because I feel that sometimes when you're trying to choose a roll at a sushi place the list of ingredients is so overwhelming. Seeing what the roll looks like is like a nice little shortcut. The rolls themselves are solid, and my go to is the orange blossom. I will say they are definitely a little pricey, but I feel that most sushi places in this area are. Service is always very fast and I've never had to wait to be seated. Recommend if you're looking for a spot to go with friends!

This sushi was phenomenal. We came in last night on a Friday and were immediately seated. The service was fast and we were always tended to. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. We ordered a lot of food and it came out really fast. The food itself was, no glaze, the best sushi i've ever had in my life. We got the seaweed salad, jalapeño bomb, Salmon chipotle, golden california, spicy kami tempura, and salmon fire. One of the dishes particularly stood out to me was #16, the Salmon Chipotle. It's sushi wrapped in salmon, baked so the salmon is cooked. This tasted incredible and we will be coming back. This might be our new hidden gem restaurant! 100/10!

Best sushi in the Bay Area! Delicious big sushi rolls 8 pieces per roll. Top quality bowls and entrees. Super service and ambien

This place was so good. Ordered DoorDash and it came perfectly fine. The orange blossom was a hit, I added cream cheese. I love the rolls with the torro on top, never really seen that before!

This place is great! Plenty of parking, customer service, and food was all great for us! We had three rolls and all 3 came out at the same time on one plate! The price for everything was decent, AND this place was a nice cool spot to be in for lunch during a hot day! There were quite a few tables filled, for two we were seat immediately :) definitely coming back!

We ended up grabbing 2 unagi salmon ikura bento boxes, a spam egg rice sando, and a salmon crab crunch roll. All the food was authentic and delicious. The unagi salmon bento boxes had big portions. The tasty unagi and masago eggs went very well together. Salmon crab crunch roll were considerable and scrumptious with every bite. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Fugetsu. The staff were nice and helpful. The 25% discount for the hot food during the evening was a great value. The vibe was welcoming and family friendly. We hope to be back to try other Japanese food to go.

There are many tables and 10 or so seats at the sushi bar. Upon sitting, we had our drink orders taken immediately. There are daily specials posted on the board, one paper menu for nigiri, rolls, and hand rolls as well as a regular appetizer and entree menu. I ordered the sushi special which was an assortment of nigiri with a fatty tuna roll. Every slice of fish was fresh, buttery, and had the perfect amount of rice. The bluefin tuna nigiri melted in my mouth I wish I ordered more. A standout for us was the Toni special roll which has your choice of fish inside with seared salmon and scallop on the outside. Needless to say, the service, the speed at which the food was served, and the quality of fish were fantastic. Easily one of the best quality sushi spots close to me.

The spinach with seasme paste was lacklustre as the seasme was rather muted...bummer. They are open late enough to accommodate my gym schedule and in the area. The service is always quick, maybe ten minutes wait after ordering, and each time I have went, the servers are attentive. Ambiance is on the quieter side after 8pm but I noticed it crowded on certain days. My go to is the deluxe tsukemen because it comes with thick juicy chasu pieces, gorgeous marinated egg and a nice warm broth. It's also one of the only places that I know that offers lime on the side which changes the flavor profile of the chilled noodles and cuts the heaviness of the dipping broth very well. I can't say it's the best tsukemen since I have only had this dish a few times, but it's a nice comfort food. Maybe one day I'll try the ramen.

You know how you get hungry mid afternoon, this is the type of spot to go to. I have been to Japan a handful of times, so this place has done well in terms of portions, without going overboard. The chashu was generous in terms of portions, fat and done well. It was a bit on the saltier side, almost too much, so just something to consider. I also had the Salmon + Ikura bowl. Combined with the chashu, it had the more saltier taste as well, but that is what happens with Ikura. The rice was warm, but I did wish there was a mor sushi rice type option, so it didn't overpower the salmon and ikura. This rice bowl, would be good on its own as well. Very much, a quick bowl, as you move on with your day in Japan. Always a tough balance with salt, so I would probably salt the chashu less in general, because all the flavors together would enhance the ramen flavor. The lime juice adds another layer of complexity with regard to the noodles. It was interesting and okay, but not a huge fan of it. But for variety, it works for a bit. I went back to the noodles without the flavor. While I enjoyed the Soup Wari (hot dashi-broth) at the end, I kinda wanted a little bit of the broth as I had my noodles. Just a personal preference. I waited until the end and it worked well, but by then, my meal felt too salty with everything. The bar bites menu was not on the main menu, so it might be nice to add it to the menu, or for the staff to point it out as an option. I would have wanted to try the agedashi tofu or edamame. Overall, a standard ramen style ambiance with a mix of customers from 1-4 table tops and ramen counter style options. Do come back when you want ramen, but without crazy temperatures in the ramen restaurants. They also have fans around the restaurant, just in case it gets too hot. There is a Teaspoon next door, so always an option before or after your meal.

Anywho, we ordered a variety of items to try: new stamina don, clam chowder croquette, kani chirashi bento, and a salmon kama bento. Regarding the food: New stamina don came with slice beef, sliced beef tongue, braised pork, poached egg, and kimchi over rice. The sliced beef was cooked to rare, and the braised pork was very tender. The rice also came with the poached egg, kewpie mayo and a lemon, mixing it all together with the rice made it have a nice creamy flavor. Clam chowder croquette was something I have never heard of before, so I definitely wanted to try it. This was delicious, would definitely get it again. A fried crispy croquette with clam chowder in it but also some mashed potatoes and tonkotsu sauce on top. Kani chirashi bento had snow crab, fish roe over rice, rolled egg omelette, sashimi, fried boneless chicken, and edamame, blistered tomatoes and shisito peppers with pickles. The sashimi came with 4 pieces, 2 tuna and 2 salmon. the tuna was a little fishy but the soy sauce helped. The salmon was actually pretty good - good fattiness. The fried chicken was fine, a few pieces were dry. Overall this bento was good. Salmon Kama bento is salmon collar over rice, fried boneless chicken, takoyaki and edamame, blistered tomatoes and shisito peppers with pickles. The salmon collar needed some salt in my opinion. For the food overall, it was a little bit under seasoned for me but for portion, price and quality are good.

They have some appetizers and drinks on the happy hour menu, so we tried the gyoza, mochi and side tempura. The mochi had a house made sauce glaze that was sweet and salty, and came with nori as a wrap. The texture of the mochi was really soft and chewy. The gyoza were really crispy with a soft interior. We ended up ordering a second round of them. The tempura was nicely fried with not too much batter. The shrimp was really succulent and I liked that they have mushroom tempura too. The fried chicken skin was really nice and crispy, and came with a ponzu sauce and mayo to dip in. The yaki onigiri was nicely grilled and still had crispy bits when submerged in the soup. I was really excited that they have shishamo/smelt. It was nicely roasted and didn't have any overtly fishy flavor. Everyone at my table really enjoyed their food.
