I've been coming here for years and have never experienced something this unsettling before. Our group ordered 3 sashimi salads, which normally comes in the large bowls we've consistently received in the past. Tonight, we watched multiple other tables receive the large bowls -- including guests seated after us -- while our table was served three noticeably smaller bowls instead. What made it worse was that the small bowls came directly from the sushi bar with our table ticket attached to them, so this clearly wasn't a plating mistake. When we asked why our portions were different, we were told they had "run out of the big bowls," despite other tables continuing to receive them. They also had just opened at 5 and we were one of the first parties seated. The entire interaction felt dismissive and honestly discriminatory. Whether intentional or not, the inconsistency was obvious and incredibly off-putting. We've spent a lot of money supporting this restaurant over time, and being treated differently from surrounding tables was unacceptable. I haven't been back here for a long times, this use to be my usual sushi restaurant but since there are so many new one in the Bay Area, I have forgotten this place. I decide to come back here since I am nearby. The restaurant is the same and services were slow and not great at all. It was busy on a Friday night for dinner which means it is still good. I order the chirashi bowl which was okay but the price was too high. The quality of fishes wasn't exotic therefore the prices should be $40 that quality of fishes. The unagi bowl was too sweet for my tastes. The rolls were small and overly sweet too. I felt the prices had been increase rapidly but the quality did not match with the price expectations. I came here for a quick lunch on a Monday. The restaurant got very busy quickly because a lot of the patrons were working people celebrating birthdays or coworkers doing out to lunch. I ordered a chirashi bowl, the sashimi was served in a separate bowl and the sushi rice and seaweed was served in another bowl. The amount of sashimi was good, but the sushi rice seemed on the small side. The sashimi was fresh and the pieces were large, with a side salad and miso soup, but out the door with tip, the total cost was $40, slightly on the pricier side than I am used to. I do, however, give it a good rating despite the price, because it is a clean restaurant, people were waiting at the door to go inside at its opening time, and the sashimi was quite fresh. It's a place you can bring on a date or with your friends and family. This restaurant is located in Santa Clara, which I consider a more expensive neighborhood than in San Jose, it has many Korean restaurants nearby. went on a whim because of meatless friday. my party of 4 arrived at 11:30am (their opening time) but the doors were still locked. there were two other parties waiting as well. i don't know if this is what typically happens so don't go exactly at opening. the lady who "greeted" us was not the friendliest, honestly no one there was. we requested a booth but they said no. not sure why but there were only 2 other parties when they officially opened. it took us a while to peruse the menu and i'm glad they didn't rush us. the lady just told us to call us when we were ready. placed our food order of 3 sushi rolls, 12 pcs sashimi, hamachi crudo, vegetable udon, vegetable dumpling, and miso soups. food didn't take long to come out and we all were surprised how thick the sashimi cuts were. sushi was ok, not the best i've had. i wouldn't throw out sushi o sushi to people if we needed a sushi spot in the area. i tend to go to kenji sushi when im in this area. a fellow coworker just referred this spot and we went for it. not bad but not great as stated before. a plus if you're into kpop/blackpink ... because that's all they play there. it was their new deadline album too! read more

Great spot! The sushi is so fresh and they give great portions here. I got a salmon hand roll and it was filled nicely with beautiful cuts of fish (not the scraps or cubes). We have been going to this Sushi restaurant for probably over 2 decades. Throughout these years, they have consistently serve high quality sushi with the right proportion. Sashimi is always thick and good portion. Nigiri is always a healthy portion of fish on top of a small portion of rice. Sashimi and Nigiri are always fresh and tasty. There are so many sushi places in South Bay, but this one is up there when people say let's go get sushi! There are two big reasons I really like this spot. The first one is the sashimi. I always get the sashimi dinner plate with tuna salmon and hamachi. The pieces are thick and really good quality. Probably some of the best quality hamachi sashimi that I've had at a sushi restaurant. Second reason is the variety of sushi rolls. And not just the variety, the menu has pictures!!!!!!! The pictures is a big thing for me because I feel that sometimes when you're trying to choose a roll at a sushi place the list of ingredients is so overwhelming. Seeing what the roll looks like is like a nice little shortcut. The rolls themselves are solid, and my go to is the orange blossom. We ordered a lot of food and it came out really fast. The food itself was, no glaze, the best sushi i've ever had in my life. We got the seaweed salad, jalapeño bomb, Salmon chipotle, golden california, spicy kami tempura, and salmon fire. One of the dishes particularly stood out to me was #16, the Salmon Chipotle. I saw lots of people picking up take out, and there were very few people in the dining room. They have a sushi bar with just a few seats, but no one was sitting there the evening we visited. Heard of this place awhile back and glad that we finally got to check it out. Ambiance is nice and quiet, not too zen but there's some work done that's more than just the wooden tables and chairs. The menu has many roll options and cooked food. We tried salmon sesame, toro-kani, green caterpillars, ikura and chicken udon. Chicken udon is probably the best rating from me. I can smell the aroma from the soup, good portions and not overly seasoned. The salmon sesame and green caterpillar are ok, but the toro-kani tasted a bit funny of the toro mesh. There was a mistake that we got an extra roll on the plate, when we asked about it, they removed it from the plate but in that process made the toro-kani messy. So when we tried to pick up the pieces they fell apart. Service was very good. I have known and loved this place since the late 90's! I first started coming here with some coworkers way back in the day, when I worked for a tech. company in the area. We'd all get together for our sushi fix at least once a month! I ordered a nigiri combo of chefs choice, which came with miso soup and salad, and a Rocky Roll. My hot tea was absolutely delicious and the lovely waitresses kept it full. My roll was great, but the star of the dinner was the fresh nigiri. Good sized pieces of fresh raw fish over rice. Nice choices, and altogether everything was very filling. I placed an online pick up order, and the food was delicious!! I ordered a baked roll with scallops and decided to add cream cheese. The unagi nigiri was delicious. The lady who helped me was also friendly and helpful. The parking was packed right next to the restaurant but there was ample parking at the nearby parking. I would recommend this place. I would go back to sit down, the ambiance was relaxing and menu was pretty vast for a sushi restaurant. I feel like the google rating is more accurate for this restaurant than the Yelp rating. I'm a little conflicted on this review because after not going here for a few years, I finally made a trip back during the pandemic. The move here is to only get their sushi rolls as they're always massive. I love how much quantity they give. However, maybe before the pandemic, I would have given them 5 stars because all of the ingredients were fresh and flavors were tasty. This time, maybe I came on an off day, but it was a bit different. I ordered 1) Una Temp (my favorite) and 2) Randy roll The una temp is almost perfect. The flavors are as good as I remember, but the chef made a mistake by putting the shell of the shrimp tempura on the inside of the roll instead of making them stick out at the ends. When I bit into one of the inside pieces, I got a mouthful of shell. Otherwise, it's still as delicious as I remember. The Randy roll has a hamachi avocado roll wrapped with assorted fish. Some of the hamachi had inedible tough bits. On the outside, there were 2 slices of tuna that did not look super fresh. The salmon looked great though. For the overall taste, I think this was only ok because half the time I was trying to make sure what I was eating was fresh. I will be more cautious next time when ordering rolls with raw fish. Maybe their last fish shipment date was awhile ago due to the holiday but overall I think with respect to the Randy, something I've ordered before as well before the pandemic, it's definitely not even close to the pre-pandemic days. Also excellent is the pork katsu with the savory / sweet katsu sauce. The sushi rolls were prepared in excellent portions and were fresh. For lunch today, my coworkers and I decided to stop by and try Sushi O Sushi and we were 100% satisfied with our visit! I wanted to try a bit of everything, so I decided to order their bento box to try their sashimi, tonkatsu, and tempura. The portion sizes for each of them was great, as well as the quality! The salmon sashimi was fresh and thick, while the tonkatsu had a nice and light crispy coating. The tempura had a nice crunch to it and was super hot too! Their side miso soup, salad, and rice were good as well! The miso soup wasn't overly salted and the rice was cooked perfectly! The grains weren't gummy or overly dry. The salad was a simple salad, haha! Sorry I wasn't able to get good pictures of the sides; I was too hungry by the time I realized I needed to take a picture. Service was excellent!
