went on a whim because of meatless friday. my party of 4 arrived at 11:30am (their opening time) but the doors were still locked. there were two other parties waiting as well. i don't know if this is what typically happens so don't go exactly at opening. the lady who "greeted" us was not the friendliest, honestly no one there was. we requested a booth but they said no. not sure why but there were only 2 other parties when they officially opened. it took us a while to peruse the menu and i'm glad they didn't rush us. the lady just told us to call us when we were ready. placed our food order of 3 sushi rolls, 12 pcs sashimi, hamachi crudo, vegetable udon, vegetable dumpling, and miso soups. food didn't take long to come out and we all were surprised how thick the sashimi cuts were. sushi was ok, not the best i've had. i wouldn't throw out sushi o sushi to people if we needed a sushi spot in the area. i tend to go to kenji sushi when im in this area. a fellow coworker just referred this spot and we went for it. not bad but not great as stated before. a plus if you're into kpop/blackpink ... because that's all they play there. it was their new deadline album too!

I came here for a quick lunch on a Monday. The restaurant got very busy quickly because a lot of the patrons were working people celebrating birthdays or coworkers doing out to lunch. I ordered a chirashi bowl, the sashimi was served in a separate bowl and the sushi rice and seaweed was served in another bowl. The amount of sashimi was good, but the sushi rice seemed on the small side. The sashimi was fresh and the pieces were large, with a side salad and miso soup, but out the door with tip, the total cost was $40, slightly on the pricier side than I am used to. I do, however, give it a good rating despite the price, because it is a clean restaurant, people were waiting at the door to go inside at its opening time, and the sashimi was quite fresh. It's a place you can bring on a date or with your friends and family. This restaurant is located in Santa Clara, which I consider a more expensive neighborhood than in San Jose, it has many Korean restaurants nearby. There is plenty of parking outside in this outdoor mall. I would come back again for a meal if I were in this neighborhood.

Chirashi bowl 4/5 - this was my favorite thing here. The fish is fresh but they gave too much rice. We couldn't finish all the rice. They put the rice and seaweed salad separate from the fish. Rolls 3/5 - not my favorite place for rolls. It was decent but nothing memorable or special.

I came here with my friend to celebrate her birthday, and we ordered the dinner order of 15 piece salmon sashimi with 2 piece salmon nigiri. This came with miso soup and salad, which we split amongst 3 people. The fish was very fresh, it's a bit pricy but the rolls here look amazing! This place had decent traffic on a weekday dinner.

This sushi was phenomenal. We came in last night on a Friday and were immediately seated. The service was fast and we were always tended to. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. We ordered a lot of food and it came out really fast. The food itself was, no glaze, the best sushi i've ever had in my life. We got the seaweed salad, jalapeño bomb, Salmon chipotle, golden california, spicy kami tempura, and salmon fire. One of the dishes particularly stood out to me was #16, the Salmon Chipotle. It's sushi wrapped in salmon, baked so the salmon is cooked. This tasted incredible and we will be coming back. This might be our new hidden gem restaurant! 100/10!

Best sushi in the Bay Area! Delicious big sushi rolls 8 pieces per roll. Top quality bowls and entrees. Super service and ambien

There are so many sushi places in South Bay, but this one is up there when people say let's go get sushi! There are two big reasons I really like this spot. The first one is the sashimi. I always get the sashimi dinner plate with tuna salmon and hamachi. The pieces are thick and really good quality. Probably some of the best quality hamachi sashimi that I've had at a sushi restaurant. Second reason is the variety of sushi rolls. And not just the variety, the menu has pictures!!!!!!! The pictures is a big thing for me because I feel that sometimes when you're trying to choose a roll at a sushi place the list of ingredients is so overwhelming. Seeing what the roll looks like is like a nice little shortcut. The rolls themselves are solid, and my go to is the orange blossom. I will say they are definitely a little pricey, but I feel that most sushi places in this area are. Service is always very fast and I've never had to wait to be seated. Recommend if you're looking for a spot to go with friends!

This place was so good. Ordered DoorDash and it came perfectly fine. The orange blossom was a hit, I added cream cheese. I love the rolls with the torro on top, never really seen that before!

love this place!!! my fam and i get the combo family which has multiple rolls you choose from, comes with nigiri and sashimi, and soup and salad, with two sides!! the flavor is good, fish is fresh, and everything was just so tasty. pricing for it is good too, a bit expensive but it is a combo with tons of stuff! i love coming here, hope their quality doesn't change

This place is great! Plenty of parking, customer service, and food was all great for us! We had three rolls and all 3 came out at the same time on one plate! The price for everything was decent, AND this place was a nice cool spot to be in for lunch during a hot day! There were quite a few tables filled, for two we were seat immediately :) definitely coming back!

Sushi O Sushi has been around for years and years! Service: Nicest and sweetest servers ever. They give you excellent service throughout your meal. Ambiance: Nice decor. Dark in some parts but lit where the tables are. Food: Great sushi rolls, great bento, and the sashimi are thick cuts of fresh fish. Most of them are nice and buttery.

Repeated Fugetsu customer here! This is the perfect grab-and-go spot for your Japanese cravings…read more I have been to Fugetsu at least 8 times at this point and will definitely come here again. This spot is located in Strawberry Park in Saratoga and is right next to Clover Bakery. While Clover Bakery tends to have longer lines, I personally have never run into a scenario where Fugetsu is packed. There is no seating, by the way, and parking can get a little hectic because of the nature of this plaza. I will say that over the years, Fugetsu has really stocked up on its selection and range of food. When you first enter, they have their stock of okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and generous bentos. As you turn the corner, they have sashimi, onigiri, dons, and more. Sometimes I get decision paralysis, but in a good way. I want to note that while I have never been disappointed by the food I get here, there isn't anything that has blown me away either. That being said, whenever I am having a picnic, this is the first spot I think of when I want to stock up for my friends and me. What is cool about this place, too, is that half of the store is dedicated to food, while the second half has merch, trinkets, and dinnerware. They carry Sonny Angels, Smiskis, loads of Miffy items, some Sanrio, and if you're a Sylvanian Families collector like me, you'll really enjoy it here. That said, they do upcharge quite a bit on some items. For example, a Sonny Angel at Mitsuwa (in the same plaza) can be around $16 (which is still expensive), while here it's closer to $21.

There are many tables and 10 or so seats at the sushi bar. Upon sitting, we had our drink orders taken immediately. I ordered the sushi special which was an assortment of nigiri with a fatty tuna roll. Every slice of fish was fresh, buttery, and had the perfect amount of rice. The bluefin tuna nigiri melted in my mouth I wish I ordered more. A standout for us was the Toni special roll which has your choice of fish inside with seared salmon and scallop on the outside. Needless to say, the service, the speed at which the food was served, and the quality of fish were fantastic. Easily one of the best quality sushi spots close to me.

My husband got the chasu tsukemen and I got the tsukemen. I prefer to have the sliced tsukemen instead of the chopped chasu because some pieces were small. It was interesting that the tsukemen came with a lime wedge too. I got the chili spice on the side so I could add as much as I wanted. We walked into a cozy, welcoming space that makes it a good spot for a casual meal, especially when craving something warm and satisfying. The interior has a clean, modern feel with an open kitchen where you can see the noodles being prepared, adding a layer of transparency to the dining experience. The seating is comfortable and the energy of the room stays relaxed, making it easy to settle in for a meal without feeling rushed. The menu goes beyond traditional udon with options like curry udon, mentai cream udon, nabeyaki udon, and different tempura sets. We tried the mentai cream udon, which had a rich and flavorful sauce that paired well with the chewy noodles. The udon texture was the highlight, with a springy bite that felt fresh rather than overly soft, and the cream sauce was well balanced, with the mentai adding a subtle brininess that kept the dish from feeling too heavy. The portions are generous, and many dishes come with additional sides or toppings that make the meal feel more complete. The tempura and other small plates are also worth exploring if you want something beyond just noodles, and we found the tempura batter light and crisp, a nice contrast to the richer udon bowls. The restaurant can get busy during peak hours, and there is usually a wait, but once seated the service moves quickly and food comes out at a good pace. The staff handle the flow efficiently, and the turnover is fast enough that the wait does not feel excessive. The space feels clean and comfortable, with the open kitchen adding a sense of activity without being distracting. Parking can be a little challenging depending on the time you visit, so planning ahead or allowing extra time is worth considering. Prices are a bit higher than a typical noodle shop, but the quality of the noodles and portion sizes make it feel justified, and the craftsmanship behind the udon is evident in the texture and preparation. Udon Mugizo is a solid choice for anyone looking for well-made Japanese udon in a relaxed setting. The variety of flavors, generous portions, and consistently good noodle quality make it a place worth returning to try more dishes, offering a meal that feels both comforting and thoughtfully composed. The balance of fresh ingredients, careful preparation, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a dependable stop for a satisfying bowl of noodles.

The shishito peppers were really tasty, not too hot, pleasantly hot. Edamame was typical, nothing really special, but it's a bit difficult to really elevate edamame. The braised pork was good and the lean parts were easy to selectively eat. Nothing here is aggressively seasoned, but also not at all bland, so it's a good balance of flavorful but not overbearing. We ordered the Niku Trio Set, which included braised pork, grilled chicken wings, niku tofu, edamame, and shishito. The food came out really quickly. Other than the edamame, which was very bland, everything was very flavorful. The pork was very soft, and the sliced thin beef paired really well with the tofu in the niku tofu. Both dishes came piping hot, and were very comforting, like home-cooked food. The shishito peppers came with a lot of bonito flakes; they're charred very well and not spicy at all. Wings well nicely grilled, too. The seafood okonomiyaki was not bad. It's a bit softer than I expected, but had quite a lot of seafood. The large Deluxe Meshi was pretty big. It came in a hot stone pot with a generous amount of salmon, eel, flying fish roe and a poached egg. I loved how crispy the rice around the pot was. No wonder it's their most popular dish. If you like authentic Japanese food, I would highly recommend this place.

I ordered the 109, which includes a medium spicy miso soup and a side order or meat, rice and green onions, as well as an egg. The soup itself has bamboo, seaweed, chashu, and a delicious mild spicy broth. The price was about $23 to $24, which is reasonable for the amount of food you get. The workers are friendly, and they offer free water if you ask. Since it's located inside a Mitsuwa, the parking can be challenging, especially during the weekends, so just be mindful of when you go. The plaza has other shops as well, in case you want to visit Paris Baguette, Daiso, etc. I recommend trying this place whenever you're near the area.

Such a cute little spot, perfect for a nice sharable dinner!…read more I went on a Friday night and it wasn't crowded at all. The service was fast and the workers were friendly. They have a variety of things from yakitori to sashimi platter. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced. I thoroughly enjoyed all the yakitori but the stand outs has to be their grilled squid! It was grilled to perfection, and has that taste of smokiness that I like. The squid is still succulent and bouncy without being overly chewy. I definitely want to go back here again when I'm feeling authentic Japanese food!
