We pull up and the parking lot is completely full even some car making there own parking spaces lol. We parked about 2 blocks down in a neighborhood hood since all the side street parking was all taken. I knew this place was the right choice and was going to be a hit! We walked in and there is a line to pick your food. This is basically a seafood market and they will cook what you pick if you want. The additional cooking fee is $3.00 per pound. I ordered my food to be cooked I was hangry and left with a triple wide big back. My seafood I picked was Alligator, Baby octopus, Basa, Catfish, Jumbo Lobster Tail, Jumbo Tiger prawns, Sea Scallops, and Oysters. I also ordered a bottle of Kim's Crack Sauce. My total damage with cooking fee was $130 it was well worth the price with the amount of food and the seafood per pound is great! I was told it was an hour wait for my food to be cooked and I was totally fine with it. Less than an hour later my food is done and I am handed 2 giant shopping bags full of food and head home. My food was still warm after driving 1.5 hrs home. I dig into the bags and when I tell you they cooked everything to pure perfection and seasoned properly they did their big one. You can also request you food to be fried hard if you want. I will definitely be back. I want to try other seafood items. There is no dining area to sit and eat Soultran's is strictly order to go.

Easily the best seafood spot in Vallejo!…read more I've been to a lot of seafood boil places, but Bag O' Crab in Vallejo genuinely blew me away. Right off the bat, the staff made us feel super welcome. Our server was on point the whole night--super friendly, answered all our questions about sauce spice levels, and kept our drinks full. They constantly checked in and brought out extra napkins, bibs, and gloves without us even having to ask, which makes a huge difference when you're eating something this messy. As for the food... incredible. We went big and got a boil with King Crab, Snow Crab, shrimp, and crawfish tossed in their signature house sauce. The crab meat was super tender and sweet--it actually came out of the shell smoothly instead of sticking, which is how you know it's fresh. The shrimp and crawfish were cooked just right, completely soaked in that flavorful sauce. Whatever you do, do NOT skip the add-ins. The sausage was super flavorful, the corn was sweet and juicy, and the potatoes were cooked perfectly tender so they soaked up all that extra sauce at the bottom of the bag. We also ordered the garlic noodles to go with it, and dipping those straight into the bag sauce is an absolute game changer. We even got the fried calamari to start and it was super crisp, not rubbery at all. Generous portions, amazing service, and food that leaves you talking about it for days after. If you're anywhere near Vallejo and craving seafood, do yourself a favor and check this place out. We'll 100% be back!

Just about everything here is made to order (fish, wings, pretty much the whole menu), so patience is part of the deal when ordering at the counter. If you're in a hurry, calling ahead or using DoorDash is always an option. For lunch, I ordered a 2-piece catfish with collard greens and candied yams to dine in, plus a chicken wing and fish combo with fries to go. One thing I really appreciated was that they didn't fry the to-go order at the same time as my dine-in meal. That meant everything was piping hot and fresh when I walked out the door. The catfish is my usual go-to and it never disappoints -- perfectly fried, well seasoned, and consistent every time. The kind of seasoning that makes you feel like someone's uncle back there is cooking from the soul. The collard greens are tender, flavorful, and always hit the spot. And the candied yams? Honestly more like dessert than a side -- sweet, comforting, and absolutely worth ordering. Yes, it can feel a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and flavor make it worth it.

And no corn bread after we asked for it in our order instead 2 slices of bread one for each order we could not make a fish sandwich with that . It's in a small strip with parking spots across the street from McDonalds. It should be very easy to find. The menu can be a little overwhelming coming here the first firm. The owner was so incredibly sweet. She helped me decide on mixed ceviche and a fruit cocktail. She asked about the spice level I'd like, if I wanted mango in the ceviche, and toppings for the fruit. The portions are huge! It's seriously enough for 2-3 people to share. Lots of shrimp and octopus in the ceviche. Everything was prepared fresh after I ordered it. Very cute and clean. They had a TV in the corner playing a new Netflix show. I'll come back to try the elote or raspados. Definitely give this place a try if you like seafood!

Recently came here to pick up a tray of shrimp ceviche and a small octopus ceviche for a family party. Service was phenomenal! The lady who took our order was so sweet and patient while she explained the different sizes and pricing for the trays. Her two other colleagues were in the back working quickly to get our order and the previous order ready. You could see how they were preparing everything in the kitchen, so you know everything was super fresh! A half tray of shrimp ceviche cost us about $100, which may seem on the pricier side, but honestly so worth it and you get a pretty good amount of shrimp in it! Didn't get to try the octopus ceviche but from what my cousin told me, it was just as delicious. Botanas La Cruda has such a variety of delicious menu items, it's so hard to choose what to get! Obviously, you can't go wrong with any of their ceviches. I also really love their bionico if you're looking for something sweet. They have elote which is classic and always tasty! And just personal preference, I love tostillocos, so you can never go wrong with an order of that. The restaurant is pretty small, but it's decorated really cute inside. There are a couple tables set up both inside and outside, and you can seat around 2-3 people at each one. They share a small parking lot with Bula Pies, but there's usually plenty of spaces available there or next door at 7-Eleven. Highly, highly recommend coming here and trying out whatever catches your eye on their menu. Whether it's a sweet summer treat, or a fresh order of seafood ceviche, you're bound to find something tasty to eat!

So I suggested she just take it home and doctor it up (season it) to her liking versus not eating it, which she agreed. She enjoyed her cioppino and my seafood creole was pretty good. If you don't like mushrooms they are in the sauce. I happen to like mushrooms but did not expect to find them in this dish. I had the Butterfly Mimosa, which was really good and I could not taste the alcohol, which I appreciated. Service was prompt and friendly. I will definitley return. It sits in the back right off the water and has a very old time rustic look. There is no air conditioner, but they did have a portable one going. We sat by the window and it was fine when we first arrived but as our lunch went on, it warmed up, even though we dropped the shade. Not a complaint, just something to be aware of. We will return!
