    Ice cream and yowie

Had the ice cream which was very tasty. Cherry vanilla and orange. Not too sweet and lots of flavour. The cooked meals looked great and smelt yummy as well. Good location on the river and nice to look out at the river with shady and sunny spots. Popular but with quick service

Best fried haddock sandwich ever, hands down. Onion rings made with the good batter, not too thick and no cornmeal crumbs. I don't usually eat soft serve, but the pistachio with chocolate sprinkles was amazing. I got the "baby"" size that wasn't advertised on the board, it was big enough! If you're lucky, you might see some kids jumping into the reversing falls!

If you're traipsing through Maine and have a hankering for fried food, Bagaduce is definitely a worthwhile stop. This lakeside spot with picnic tables is an ideal place to eat after ordering at the walk-up window. The employees are very friendly and patient while you decide on your order, and the fried seafood offerings are quite extensive. Some sites rank Bagaduce Lunch as the best place to eat fried clams in all of Maine. That wasn't our opinion, but they were undoubtedly delicious with a fabulously crunchy batter. Unfortunately, some clams were too chewy to be edible, and they didn't measure up to the fried clams at Helen's in Machias, Maine. But they were nonetheless scrumptious. The fried onions are also good, heavy on the stomach but sliced impossibly thin with a rich, crisp batter that you can't stop eating! It was definitely a good lunch!

After stumbling across a Facebook post, we decided to go about 35 minutes out of our way for their soft serve ice cream. It was worth it! It's a hidden gem that's out of the way of everything, so we didn't find it to be too "tourist-y" like some reviews may suggest. They only offer their "special flavor", vanilla, or both of them in a twist. The flavor today was red raspberry so we got a raspberry and twist cone. Delicious and the service was also friendly! We had a bit of a wait but the line moved fast. Seating was nice as well.

Everything on the menu is good. I sometimes order 3 items for myself - a lobster roll, the fried haddock & the fried belly clams. So delicious! I can eat here everyday of my vacation!

Just a shack by the road. Delightful lobster traps to direct foot traffic.

The best darn Maine lobster shack that there is. Ain't none better. First of all, there is the killer view which makes most any meal 10x better. And if you get there at the right time you will see either a hundred horseshoe crab mating or be witness to the reversing roaring waters of tidal Maine. Anyhow, everything here is delicious and perfectly fried. Come for the haddock, as it is fresh, fried well, and just tasty. The prices are fair across the board. The fried whole bellies are the best for miles. If hungry for ice cream, they have Gifford's but are best known for their delightful and imaginative soft serve. Cannot go wrong with their Pistachio soft serve...or any of their soft serve. I love all of their flavors.

Wonderful food including lobster roll , crab roll , fish "burger" (best haddock). Too bad only seasonal. Well worth stopping by in season.

Not that great... Other takeouts I've been too are much better. Most seafood / fries are too greasy for my liking.

Seriously, great food, service and prices. What else would you want? Oh yea, great waterfront views from any picnic table of your choice.

The whole atmosphere felt rushed, tense, and honestly rude at times. We had a reservation for 4, but were seated at two separate tables with a support pole between us, making it hard to even talk to each other. A few minutes after we sat down, three actual 4-top tables opened up, so we politely asked if we could move before we had even ordered. That simple request was met with way more hostility than it should have been. They did move us, but I then overheard an older woman on staff complaining to her coworkers about the fact that we had asked. Meanwhile, over an hour later, there were still open 4-top tables, so the attitude over such a reasonable request made even less sense. What made it especially disappointing is that this was my son's birthday dinner, and the vibe was so uncomfortable that I honestly felt like I couldn't even mention it or ask them to celebrate him because we already felt like a burden just for asking to sit together as a family. The service was also painfully slow. It took about 25 minutes for someone to even take our drink order, another 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive, and after being there for an hour we still had no food. Our waters were never refilled either. Basic things like checking in on the table or refilling water shouldn't be a stretch, especially when customers are already waiting that long. When the food finally came, my wife ordered the mushroom ravioli and it just wasn't very good. I mentioned it, and there was no apology, no concern, and no offer to take it off the bill or make it right. It was just met with indifference, which pretty much summed up the whole experience. To make things worse, we could repeatedly hear staff talking badly about other customers. That alone creates a terrible atmosphere, because if they're comfortable doing that within earshot of diners, you can't help but assume they're doing the same thing about you. The frustrating part is that the food looked promising, and we came in wanting to have a nice family dinner. Instead, we spent the night feeling uncomfortable, ignored, and like we were inconveniencing the staff just by being there. For what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner, it was a huge letdown.

Seeing it in the distance fills me with an overwhelming sense of excitement as it meant returning to one of my favorite hiking spots in New England (so far) and beginning a weeklong binge on Maine's freshest seafood. I absolutely love this tiny and unassuming (from the outside) seafood market and couldn't wait to be back again this year. Last year, it was the first stop to pick up ingredients for my weeklong visit to Acadia National Park. This year, after a whole year of telling anyone and everyone I knew visiting Acadia, it was once again my first stop after I started driving from Boston. Loaded Lobster Roll - check. Loaded Crab Roll - check. Dorr Hoodie - check. Fresh scallops - check. 5# bag of steamers - check. Calamari salad - check. A pair of lovely fresh and alive lobsters for later - check. Some of the freshest stuff at really competitive prices. What's there not to like? Oh yeah, there is Tim with his super sarcastic sense of humor. A conversation with him just absolutely cracks me up. Super nice dude with a lot of information and makes the overall experience here even better than it already is. I also got to meet the father and son owners during this visit. Always glad to meet the hardworking fishermen behind the amazing product that I've become addicted to.

They have fresh and frozen soups for sale, and a single refrigerator display of a few fine pieces of seafood. They do the lobster, too, of course. I went with the scallops, a quart of New England Clam Chowder, and two pounds of fresh haddock. My wife made some awesome fish and chips with the haddock, had some beautiful sautéed scallops, and the soup was excellent. Was about $75 for everything, and we'd come back. The two gentlemen running the place answered all my questions and were more than happy to assist.

We were underwhelmed to say the least. While the views are absolutely stunning, and the freshness of the lobster is nothing to question, I just expected a lot more. For the lobster to come right off the boat in front of you, I'd think the prices would be more reasonable since it's so easily accessible. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try but my bill would've easily been $200 for a lunch for 2. Absolutely not. My wife and I each got a lobster roll and refused to order anything to drink because again, the prices were crazy. We got one side of fries because....well you get it. I got the traditional lobster roll and my wife got the lobster roll with butter. Now, I do love that these don't come on a traditional roll, but instead they come like a burger or sloppy joe, on a bun. However, the bun could have at least been toasted. I thought my lobster roll was pretty good as far as the flavor of the lobster goes but there was zero seasoning so it was only just the right amount of mayo and lobster. My wife liked her roll except that the chunks of lobster were too big for her liking. It would have been better if it was shredded a bit more to get the butter in there. I personally thought her lobster tasted better than mine but with the buns literally just coming out of the pack and no seasoning, I just don't understand the hype of a lobster roll. We ate them because we were in Maine and that is what you do but I would never spend nearly $100 on 2 rolls and a side of fries ever again.

Our group of eight had all placed their orders, and several minutes later we were told that they were out of their lobster mac and cheese. It ended up being okay but we had several children and picky eaters in our group and it was a bit frustrating to not know they were out until we had committed and paid. Regardless, we got our food in about twenty minutes and it survived the car ride home and was warm by the time we got back to the Airbnb. I haven't had lobster too many times and didn't know what to expect, but our group's resident New Englander noted that even for soft shell lobster, it was pretty hard. The lobster dinner I ordered was pretty plain but still tasty and came with lobster, boiled corn, and coleslaw. Overall, this place was cute and did the job, but I don't know if the food is for me.
