We live in Summit County and have been to Bagalis a few times. The food is consistently pretty good, but service is hit-and-miss. The menu is fairly limited and really expensive for what it is. The food was horrifying and the service was disappointing. The pasta was way overcooked to a point that it became a mushy piece of disgrace. The fish was seasoned "amazingly well" to a point that it had bland areas and salty as fk areas all combined into one piece. The lamb linguine was a pile of junk, to the person in the reviews saying that his grandma loved it, what kinda junk were you feeding her? The lamb was so overcooked it was not a dish, it was a CREMATION! The penne bolognese was just canned tomato with minced expired meat, it was super watery and extremely sour to cover up the bad meat taste. The penne was so overcooked it shredded into spaghettis. After a night of disappointing meal, the restaurant never apologized for such a disastrous meal and was arrogant and refused to admit their wrongs. read more

This restaurant is amazing! My gf and I were celebrating my birthday and we both had never been to Frisco. The smell coming from the restaurant was a magnet. Staff was friendly and kind! We would strongly recommend the Funghi Pizza and Fettuccine Alfredo with Italian Sausage. Our waitress was fun and took time to make us feel welcome! What a pleasant surprise in the heart of Frisco! My husband and I went to Bagalis recently with another couple who had recommended this restaurant. On a Saturday night during ski season, the place was packed but luckily we had a reservation and were seated at the community table. From the outside you'd never guess what awaits you inside, the atmosphere is very warm and inviting, like a lively Italian bistro in the heart of Frisco. They offer traditional Italian fare prepared with quality local ingredients, and the menu is wide enough that even a picky eater should find something to love. Our waitress was great and very knowledgeable, helping us decide what to choose. She recommended the pork shank and it was indeed delicious, the tender meat falling from the bone. I should not forget to mention the yummy bread that we enjoyed dipping in olive oil mixed with balsamic vinegar, perfect with our drinks while waiting for our entrees. They also serve artisan pizzas and judging from the other tables they looked very good. I would love to try one on another visit! They have a nice wine list, solid signature cocktails and a few beers. We could not resist the Tiramisu for dessert, and it was simply perfect like the rest of the meal. We stopped here because Bread & Salt had a long wait. I'm actually writing this review from Bagalis. We waited 30 minutes for a coffee and we are still waiting on our food to arrive. We've been sitting here for an hour... it's just me & my husband and we ordered very basic items from their breakfast menu. It makes no sense that we've been waiting 1+ hours to get our food. After seeing the mixed reviews for this restaurant, we were really just hoping that we'd have a positive experience but that has definitely not been the case. We decided to check this place out based on a recommendation from one of the local residents. They managed to fit us in on a busy Saturday night. Started off with truffle fries which hit the spot. Field greens salad was next and they split it for us. (My daughter wanted some too!) this place makes all their own pasta so we all felt we had to try it out. I got the fall squash carbonara made with acorn and butternut squash. Nice delicate flavors. 2 people got corsara which was good but everyone at our table thought that the duck was best. Terrible management and terrible service. After waiting an hour for our subpar food, the waiter snuck a 30% gratuity into our bill (for a party of 4 people)!!! We should've looked closer, but we were so ready to get out we didn't actually think to calculate what the tip amount was, also we were splitting the check so assumed it would be correct in the end. We realized after we paid and obviously felt awkward asking for money back so we decided to politely tell the manager we felt the tip was too high. He then followed us out of the restaurant to confront us asking if we liked our food. We of course said no because it was not good, and he aggressively said "that's extremely rare." Not to mention, the waiter forgot our drinks order and completely forgot our pizza. Thank god their ineptitude prevented them from stealing more money from us. This place is shady with subpar food. The most disappointing restaurant experience I've ever had. As a passionate fan of Italian cuisine, i hope this restaurant stop shaming pasta . The pasta was bland and utterly devoid of flavor, and the lamb was so overcooked that it resembled rubber more than meat. The chef may worked at the Arizona tent city jail before. Adding to the discomfort was the service; the waiter's discriminatory attitude towards non-white customers was blatantly obvious and completely unacceptable. Moreover, the excessive wait time of an hour and a half only compounded the frustration, as the end result was a meal that could only be described as trash. To top it all off, the audacity of including an automatic 20% tip for such dismal service was beyond belief. The waiter and chef here ruin my thanks giving holiday. I hope everyone see this review will stay away from here, it just a large trash bin. read more

Awesome Italian spot - Bolognese was 10/10. I think it was a little overpriced but overall it was definitely a nice restaurant. Service was pretty slow and didn't seem like they had a lot of help unfortunately so it took awhile to get our drinks. My first experience was good, but this evening was horrendous. No only were my wife and if given the wrong dishes ( kale instead of mixed salad, old rib roast beeft and mashed potatoes instead of mixed green and shrimp diavalo) but they actually tried to convince us tha t we ordered what was probably left over garbage. We went here after biking 9 miles from Breckenridge. They were able to seat 7 of us together- the first place we tried wouldn't do that due to social distancing. Bagalis was not crowded and pushing two tables together didn't violate any 6' distances. Everyone wore masks and we felt comfortable dining there. The menu is extensive - we were there for lunch and there was breakfast and lunch options. I had the summit vegetable hash which was so good. I wished I had ordered two! Some of us ordered Bloody Marys. They weren't the best ever but they were fine. Service was good, atmosphere good. Would definitely go again. read more

My wife said it was the best lasagna she has had and the pork shank was amazingly tender.

We had a reservation for 3 made well in advance for 5 pm and arrived five minutes early. Manager said they had "no table" even though we could see one was open. She said "what we always do is just add a third chair at table for 2" . The tables for two were TINY and would not possibly work for 3 for dinner. Insulting and ridiculous. We left and returned to 5th Avenue Grille where service is excellent and food is great. read more

Bagalis stands out on many fronts, whether it is their amazing dark, beautiful wood interior, the fireplace with super comfy leather armchairs for enjoying a wine and cheese pairing or one of the amazing woodfired pizzas, the consistently amazing staff and execution, but my favorite is sitting out on the deck and grabbing an awesome (and huge!) cocktail right on Main Street, but on a quiet corner. I was torn between two and three stars for Bagalis but settled on three stars because their hostess was so sweet and they didn't automatically tack on 20% gratuity for our group of six (a pet peeve of mine). Ultimately though, Bagalis was just "meh" in my book. Our waiter kept forgetting to refill everyone's water glass so one person had an empty glass for probably close to 15 minutes before he came back. He also brought us one beer too many, which we pointed out, and he proceeded to take the beer back to the bar and put it in the fridge (I feel bad for whoever ordered that beer next and got a flat one that had been sitting out and multiple people at our table had touched as we passed it back). The food was pretty much mediocre. The gnocchi was overcooked, the pizzas weren't that flavorful and it was pricey for what it was. I wouldn't come back again but it wasn't a totally awful experience so three stars seems fitting. read more

My son and i went here, which im still regretting. We were seated near the bar and within the first minute witnessed a server having a coughing fit behind the bar with his mask below his chin (covid times!) - he literally sneezed 10+ times covering all the glasses behind the bar. Already questioning our choice, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and ordered our meal.... oh boy! The coughing server stumbled over to us, clearly wasted, and spilled my lamb pasta dish on his way to the table. He then mumbled some words to us (mask still below chin) and placed the food down with such force that the momentum of the watery lamb dish spilled right between my legs. Not only that but the fettucini alfredo dish my son ordered looked like a watery mess. We didn't touch either dish and politely told a different waiter that we were leaving for obvious reasons.
