I have passed Bagels and Donut Basket for the last 17 years located at 1705 B1 Branham Ln, San Jose, CA 95118 Cambrian Park. I always see lots of cars parked there so today I decided to see what it was all about. Well was I surprised how much foot traffic was present at 9:00 AM on a Monday. The smell of fresh baked items permeated the air. I decided to try several items. A jelly donut, cinnamon roll, cinnamon twist, and an onion bagel. Everything was super fresh and had a wonderful taste. Although the bagels are steamed and not boiled, it had an excellent soft texture and remarkable taste. The onion on the bagel was super good! The restaurant is kept very clean, including the restroom. The servers behind the counter were polite, friendly, and professional in appearance. Another great place I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The best part about this place, in my opinion, is that you can buy their homemade cream cheeses to go. You can buy either an 8 oz container or condiment cup size of the cream cheese (I bought a bunch of different flavors to try with my bagels at home). The sandwiches are always well made and reliable, and I always enjoy the Spam Egg and Cheese. They're accommodating with modifications too, and it's easy to just call ahead and pick up. Family owned business with friendly, polite, and happy attitudes! I ordered their Nova Lox Sandwich: cream cheese, lox, red onions, tomato, & capers. I chose "The Works" bagel (4/5). First off, the bagel was toasty and soft with a nuttiness from all the sesame and poppy seeds. A generous portion of lox so you could really taste the smokiness and saltiness of the lox. Most of all, what I liked was that the red onion was slivered finely, so you didn't get that crunchy, punch in the face raw onion taste. So it blended well with this sandwich. Vietnamese Ice Coffee (3/5). The coffee wasn't strong enough for me. Though, it was a smooth, creamy "cold brew" feeling. Maybe next time, I'll try their donuts. This place has a great variety of options in their menu and very affordable too! We were greeted by their friendly staff when we entered and our food took about approximately 5-10 minutes. I got their basket breakfast sandwich on an asiago bagel and as I'm typing this I'm craving for another already. Portioning was perfect, but the highlight was definitely the bagel. Soft but still had a nice mild chewy texture to it. Even after 2 hours the bagel still had its original texture. Their donuts are also good, I chose their blueberry cake one which was very fluffy. Given the service, quality, and price- it's an 11/10. This would definitely be a go to spot if I lived closer! read more

Great spot for a solid bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich! We really appreciated how we could place our order ahead of time-very helpful! The coffee station offered a nice variety of bold, medium, light, and decaf blends. The staff made sure the coffee bar was fully stocked, which I appreciated! During our early morning visit, we also ordered an egg croissant sandwich which came fully loaded with pickles, jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, and red onions. We unanimously decided on a dozen assorted donuts, sun dried tomato bagel with EXTRA cream cheese, and an iced latte. The drive was quick and parking was super easy. The establishment was more spacious than I expected but the assortment of donuts available was a bit of a letdown. Maybe our timing was bad but I was hoping for a better selection on a weekday @ 9am... They didn't have the sun dried tomato bagel, they didn't have wheat, so I settled for a poppyseed instead. Extra cream cheese requested for the bagel. Just like the bagels, the offerings for donuts didn't leave our purchase with anything too exciting but we managed to walk away with a dozen. 2 stars overall. Not only was the selection scarce but the donuts didn't have that fresh, fluffiness that I'm used to. The bagel tasted a bit stale as well. Caramel latte was good. I asked her if she got the chocolate milk my son was sitting at the table with and she got so mad and told me to not take anything to the table before paying. We love this place & come here frequently. The service is great. They're always speedy so even if the line is long it goes fast. They have a variety of donuts, bagels, coffees, juices, smoothies, and other drinks. They also have sandwiches and other choices. My only critique is that they sometimes run out of things if you get there in the later part of the morning. It means they're popular right? But just keep that in mind when you come here. Ordered a nova lox bagel and a pastrami bagel and both were delicious. Ingredients tasted fresh, crispy bagel, kind and friendly staff, and fast service. There's a bar seating all the way to the side and outdoor seating but otherwise, they have a coffee bar and tons of juice options. I haven't had a donut in years...so I ordered a chocolate bar and it was quite tasty. LOVEEEE bagel and donut basket! We come by after workout classes at least once a week. The service is fast and friendly and the selection is HUGE. My favorite things to get are the Turkey breakfast sandwich croissant or a jalapeño cheddar bagel with lox cream cheese. There is little to no seating so it is more of a pickup place. This is a donut shop that has been in the neighborhood for many years! I have been going there since they were a much smaller shop, and they have expanded their location to offer bagels also. I usually find their croissant doughy like a bread, today's croissant (if you can call this croissant) was the worst I ever had! They had quite a few croissants in their pantry, and the lady picked this for my order. This is sub-standard croissant that should be donated to food shelter, not for sale.
