    Verde Chilaquiles

Came here in a weekday morning and wow it was packed! It was two of us and we got seated immediately. The vibe inside was very clean an and fun. We could see our fresh squeeze oj being made right behind the counter. I ordered the chilaquiles with the short rib. It was a lot more food than I was expecting. Everything tasted fresh. Would come back!

Stopped in at this Midtown brunch spot on a Sunday around 12:30pm. Chic, modern setup and about a 10-minute wait for a table, which was fine. The food is the reason to come. Crab cake benedict and tiramisu pancakes were simply amazing. The benedict came with a proper crab cake in place of the usual ham, and the tiramisu pancakes were a clever dessert-leaning take on brunch. Some of the best brunch food I've had in a while! Here's the catch. It's loud, loud enough that we had to practically scream across the table to hear each other. And the service really dragged. Almost 20 minutes just for the pancakes, then another 10 for the rest, so half of us were eating while the others waited. I know it was busy, but that's rough. Our server was sweet and clearly doing her best so this one wasn't on her. The kitchen is good enough that I'd come back regardless. But if they fix the service to match the food, this place could be next level. Definitely recommended for food not for the service.

Definitely a go to brunch spot in SJ! Went on a Saturday for brunch with my friend and they were quite busy. We had to wait around 15 mins to get seated so not bad considering we walked in. My friend also had her dog and they were very accommodating, even filling up his water bowl. They have a huge menu so there are a lot of options to choose from. I got the banana and apricot french toast which I thought would come topped with bananas and apricots but it is apricot jam on the side + caramelized bananas on the french toast. Also got a side of bacon to have something savory with the french toast. It was still delicious -- just thought it would have fresh apricots too. My friend got the shrimp & crab omelette w/herb potatoes + blueberry coffee cake which looked delicious as well! Overall, delicious brunch spot to hang out with friends!

Quiet Sat morning 8am, it was not busy and the restaurant was 30% full when we walked in. Space was a little tight between tables. Service was mediocre: missing settings, asked to refill my coffee after I paid my bill instead during my meal. I sense the server was more tired than me, but it's ok not everyone is running 100% daily. The food presentation wasn't fancy but the taste of was absolutely stunning. I can see why the place was packed before 9am when we left.

    Strawberry Banana Crepe

Very crowded and service was just ok. Food was like any other breakfast place, nothing really stood out as fantastic. Ordered the strawberry Nutella crepe. Strawberries were good (it is strawberry season - May) and the Nutella was good - crepe was average. Ricotta pancake was very dense. My husband had the chorizo scramble.... THAT was really good!! If you like chorizo with eggs - get this! The server brought 3 out of four dishes - they failed to remember to bring the fourth. We had to ask twice - and by the time they brought it... the three of is were done eating. Ugh! The place is VERY crowded, very hard to move around if you are seated in the middle of the room. .... Seems like it would be a fire safety hazard, but I assume they are following the rules. Street parking if challenging... but there is a garage behind the restaurant. Would I go back? Probably not - SJ has so many good breakfast spots - this one didn't stand out as a must have again.

I had been to another location previously and it just so happened I was in the mood for a late brunch. They had a substantial wait from appearances of the groups sitting in the waiting area. Luckily enough since I was solo, I was able to grab a seat at the bar immediately. The music is a bit loud if you are looking for a more mellow experience. It's got more of a high energy/ party vibe. The bartender was attentive and brought me water right away. I ordered an Irish Coffee as I was craving a hot coffee but with a little extra. The server that was in the general vicinity walked over right away to ask if I had any questions on the menu. There were lots of options and I'm typically fairly indecisive. He gave me a few minutes and came right back. I ordered the Chilaquiles with green sauce and over easy eggs. The dish came out and it looked amazing, large portion size. I would almost recommend sharing since the portion is so large. Overall very tasty, the eggs were cooked perfectly which for me personally is a big deal. Everything was seasoned well and didn't require any additional salt/ pepper, etc. My server and bartender were attentive and checked on me periodically. Overall had a good experience for a solo venture.

Long wait if you come at the wrong times. Food was good albeit overpriced. Steak was the best, didn't feel the gravy.

Breakfast Club at Midtown is an iconic brunch spot in San Jose and across the Bay Area. Even though Breakfast Club is super popular, this is actually my first time here and I can definitely see why it's popular. We had to wait about 30 mins, but the food is definitely worth the wait. Everything was very delicious, but my favorites were definitely the Carnitas and the Crab Cake Egg Benedicts. I really love how flavorful and amazing it was. I also try the California French Toast and Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancake and they were delicious as well.

A couple friends and I stopped in after a race in San Jose. A great post-race food spot! Friendly staff, good service, and casual ambiance. I ordered the Farm House Omelette, and it was delicious! Omelette had the perfect blend of veggies, and great flavor. With the omelette options, you could either pick toast or coffee cake. Make sure you choose the coffee cake. It was so good, I kept thinking about it after we left. Highly recommended! There's also another location that opened up in Castro Valley, CA if you're not in the South Bay area.

I highly recommended the breakfast club. Go midweek to avoid the rush. This place always seems busy and for good cause, because it's good and there's a nice vibe. Chicken and waffles- I appreciate that this was not chicken tenders. We had a thigh and I believe a breast and the portion size was enough to share. Short rib chilaquiles- the addition off the short ribs took this dish to the next level. Two egg breakfast with sausage links- portion size was great. Hash browns cooked to perfection Every dish was flavorful and something I would order again. Mimosa with fresh OJ. yum Prices were decent and all what I expected. Not overpriced at all.

Came by on the Saturday morning to get the crab cake benedict. We got greeted and seated quickly. Friendly wait staff. Pretty loud and crowded as expected when I last came by. Got the crab Benedict: 4.5 stars. Definitely as I remembered with real crab. Although I don't care for the outer breading. Avocado and the eggs moistened it nicely along with the sauce. I got the hash potatoes and it was bland. I recommend getting the herb potatoes - really flavorful albeit salty. The Jalisco: short rib omelette: 3.5 stars. Well presented and flavorful. The short ribs were tender. Came with potatoes and a side of toast. The orange juice:4 stars. A little on the tangy side but tastes fresh so I can't complain.

I visited this breakfast spot after hearing it was one of the best breakfast places in San Jose. The location is convenient, in a busy area with public parking nearby, and the service was friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was okay but not quite what I expected. The restaurant felt more like a fusion American-Mexican breakfast spot rather than a traditional breakfast diner. Every plate even came with a random watermelon slice, which added to the unusual presentation. We tried the steak huevos rancheros and the farm omelet. Both dishes were decent, but nothing really stood out or felt memorable. If you enjoy creative or fusion-style breakfast meals, this may be your kind of place. However, if you prefer a simple, classic, old-fashioned breakfast restaurant, this probably isn't the spot for you.

Just wow!!!! Our waitress was hilarious and great at service with perfect recommendations. She even gave us our own straws so me and my friend can share the drinks without having to share our straws. The wait for a table is SO worth it. Nice touch is a coffee station outside while you wait.

    Are there any vegan options?

There was a veggie omelet and a tofu scramble offered on the menu but I'm not sure if quite meets your expectations.

Do they serve gluten-free pancakes or gluten-free French toast or gluten-free waffles?

Yeah they have gluten-free options in menu.

    Is it wheelchair accessible?

Sure is! It's all first floor and they have handicap friendly tables

Do they have bottomless mimosas here? If so, how much is it per person?

No, they are a la carte.

    Do they take reservations?

Not live music, but yes there is music playing

    Do they take reservations?

    Serves Modelo beer?

    Of course

Are there gluten-free options for people with allergies? What about prep precautions?

They have very limited to no options for people with restrictions and they are very rude once they find out you are vegan/veg or have other dietary restrictions.

How long of a wait on Sat.? Have a play to go @ CMT @2:00. What is a good time to get @ the rest.?

Calling the restaurant directly to ask them will be your best way to get a reliable estimate.

Do they have any food for dogs?

Are pets allowed in the outdoor dining area?

I believe pets are allowed in the outside area, but it might not be the best place to bring your pup! If you are there during weekend brunch hours, so many people are outside waiting around, that your dog may get accidentally stepped on and not have…

    Yes

Do you serve breakfast all day?

    Yes

Visiting from out of town on a Sunday morning (between 9:00 and 10:00 AM) on a bit of a tight schedule. Realistically, should we expect a long wait at that time?

Hi Bryce If your planning on going, the tall table at the entrance and bar seating are open seating and first come first serve. I went last saturday and the place was packed…

    Is there still outdoor dining?

    No not that I saw

Are there gluten free options available?

    Yes

What we ordered: 1 Caviar Starter: $44 Kettle Chips & Caviar Dip Sour Cream and Onion, Cured Egg Yolk - excellent little appetizer to start, served w a mini spoon to help scoop dip onto chips. kettle chips were very thin, crisp and fragrant. 2 Main Courses: $60 Slowly Cooked Pork Shank Creamy Bulgur, Salsa Verde, Tomato Jus - the meat was cooked perfectly, with flavorful tender pork that pulled off the bone easily w fork and knife. creamy bulgur was a tad salty as a base carb to pair w the protein, but also very flavorful so not much of the sauce boat of salsa verde was needed. $49 Whole Roasted Branzino Anchovies, Capers, Chives - the fish was excellent, though plating could have included some sort of veg or carb accompaniment besides the sauce boat of liquid butter w herbs. 3 Drinks: $19 Last Word Gin, Green Chartreuse, Maraschino, Lime - solid. Mezcal Old Fashioned (off the menu) - requested it made w chocolate bitters; bartender came out to table side to inform that he didn't have these on hand, but suggested he use their housemade bitters instead. turned out well! $15 Brucato Woodlands (digestif) hit the spot as a proper after-dinner drink sipped neat. It's a California-made amaro w dominant flavor notes of elderberry, cocoa nibs, black fig, and citrus; glad to see it offered on the menu alongside both green and yellow chartreuses :) Service was excellent even though they were busy at times, our server was thoughtful to check in periodically while bussers were polite. Note: Walk to the bathrooms is long -- need to pass through the entire restaurant and then down a long hallway in the rear, so just keep in mind if you are bringing children or elders. Nearest parking garage is underground but has elevators up to street level and is close to restaurant entrance. Nice date spot! FYI this place opened in March 2025 and is owned/managed by Bacchus, within the same Bay Area portfolio as Pizza Antica (across the street also in Santana Row) and both Michelin-starred spots on the peninsula - Selby's in Menlo Park & Village Pub in Woodside.

It was the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh air and made for a really relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant has a great vibe overall, especially if you're looking for an outdoor brunch. (Have not been inside) I ordered the steak chilaquiles, and I'd give them a 8.5/10. The flavors were really good, the sauce was delicious, and I liked the addition of the eggs, avocado, and queso. My only complaint was the steak. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out medium well, a bit dry and was tougher than expected, making it difficult to cut. It was still tasty--just not cooked quite the way I was hoping. The mimosas were good too, a great value. Nothing that really stood out as amazing, but definitely nothing bad about them either--they got the job done. What really elevated the experience was the service. Our server Rebecca was attentive, knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly quick throughout the meal. They checked in at the right times, answered our questions confidently, and made us feel well taken care of without ever being overbearing. Overall, I'd come back, especially to sit on the patio again. With a more tender steak, this meal would've easily been an 8.5 or 9 out of 10!! :)

That's blatant racism, and it happened while I was a paying customer. Staff did nothing to address it in the moment. Understandably upset and shaken, I had too much to drink afterward. My family came and drove me home safely. Rather than addressing what actually happened -- a customer being racially harassed on their premises -- management's response was to ban me, not the person who harassed me. If a business allows this kind of harassment to go unaddressed and then punishes the target of it for reacting, that's a real problem, not a minor service issue. This is the San Francisco Bay Area. We should expect better than this. Avoid this place if you don't want to find out how they'll treat you when something like this happens to you.
