Came here for date night. My wife and I love supporting small businesses. Food was amazing. The drinks were amazing! The staff were super friendly and attentive. The owners were also there having dinner with their family and it felt like I was there with my own family. 10/10 experience. Will def be coming back.

Super cute interior and great location, right in the center of downtown San Jose. I came here for dinner with two others for a girl's night, and it was a cozy setup with elf playing on the projector. For an appetizer, we got the garlic fries for the table, which were the perfect balance of flavor and crunch. Our server was great and kept refilling our water as soon as it was low; he was also very thorough with his menu explanation and let us know of the "secret" menu items. For my main dish, I got the vodka pasta and paid extra to add chicken. It honestly was not my favorite. I felt like the sauce lacked flavor and felt like it was missing something. I even asked for red pepper flakes to try to add some flavor, to no avail. I really liked the vibe of the spot/location, so I might try to come back to check out their brunch since I see that it is highly rated.

It's retro chic inside with outdoor bench seating. The chairs with the large armrests are however awkward to get in and out of with how close they have the table A few other misses were that we ordered 3 dirty martinis and they were all different in terms of flavor, amount of gin and olive juice. Asked for no bacon on a dish and it came with bacon. They comped a dessert for the mishaps, but forgot to address what we were there for, a birthday. For this price point expectations are a bit higher. Will say we otherwise found the dishes flavorful.

A cute small cafe that is a little bit hard to find. But the service was very nice and price is reasonable. Food is delicious and the decorations were pink and adorable.

The Club On Post is a quaint little place on Post street that sort of gives me a San Francisco vibe. The neighborhood around it isn't great but once you step inside they transport you to a nice vibe. The atmosphere was nice and it is a refreshing addition to downtown. Although downtown was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon this place was pretty well attended. I had the shrimp and grits. It was good but the cherry tomatoes, peas and little green leaves looked pretty but didn't complement the flavor/texture in my opinion. The chicken and waffles had a variety of berries on it. The crème brûlée may have been one of the best I've had. They had a movie playing on the wall for ambience which was interesting. Perhaps a screen would help. I'd come back.

My friend and I were walking along Post St. and noticed The Club. We popped in to grab cocktails and share a meal. This small but mighty restaurant was such a great find! I liked the intimacy of the place, and we enjoyed the food, hospitality, and prompt service. The last item on their cocktail menu appealed to my curiosity, which was "Bartender's choice." Naturally I was intrigued to find out what it was going to be. They didn't ask for my spirit preference or flavor palette, so I was really at the mercy of the bartender. I adored my cocktail, and it was incredibly unique. Imagine if pho was a cocktail. I know that sounds weird but can't knock it 'til you try it. Our seabass entree was excellent. I just love the flaky, buttery texture of seabass. Appreciated that they served us with a big cut of the fish, and it was beautifully plated over a bed of fluffy quinoa. I would order this dish again in a heartbeat. Looking forward to checking out The Club again soon, maybe next time for brunch!

Final rating 3.5 I came here for brunch on a weekend. The seating was nice and they had both indoor and outdoor seating options. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. I initially ordered some garlic fries for the table, which were pretty good. I also tried the crabcake Benedict, which was pretty tasty and a bit of my brother's chicken and waffles, which was not for me. My friend got a shrimp and grits which he said was okay. The service on the food was a bit slow so don't come too hungry otherwise it was a relatively good experience and I would recommend the crab cake Benedict.

Shrimp and grits. Our friend demolished this.

My friends and I made a reservation at the Club on Post about three weeks ago, for a little catch up dinner before going to see the Mouse Trap at the City Lights Theatre down the road. The restaurant is located in a little blocked off alley that you can only access by walking in. There are several parking lots nearby and we found one for about $8 for two hours, covered lot and all that. There are several cute stores nearby which are great to peruse and browse while waiting. We walked in and were immediately greeted and the server asked if we had a reservation. I said yes and they had a lovely table with a stunning floral arrangement all set up for us. If you are in a larger group you'll probably be at that same table - half the table are chairs the other side is a bench, so choose the chair if you need back support. The menus change seasonally but there were some excellent choices ranging from appetizers like fries and calamari to main dishes with steak, seafood, burgers, etc. I did not notice any specifically vegan or vegetarian meals aside from the salads or the pasta I ordered which can be with and without protein. Water glasses were filled immediately and the ambiance inside was relaxed yet still upscale. We ordered truffle fries for the table and then ordered the following for entree: bucatini with vodka with shrimp, shrimp and grits, salmon and risotto, the post hamburger, and the Chilean sea bass. Also a side of mashed potatoes. Everything was gorgeous and the portions were veryyyyy generous. My pasta with shrimp was amazing, luxurious sauce and perfect noodles. Everyone loved their meals and truly ate every last bite! Towards my couple last bites I noticed something about my dish and told a server. The owner came out to apologize for the issue and he was so nice and friendly and apologetic. The best part is that he went to the back of the restaurant to investigate how it happened so he could ensure it wouldn't happen again. He then covered most of our meal and gave us a delightfully yummy crème brûlée which was so pretty and tasty. Overall, wonderful experience with a stellar staff and an awesome business owner. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I came here for brunch/ lunch today and we were so happy we decided to stop by! We were at San Pedro square trying some coffee places and saw this cute place on google and decided to walk over. The service was perfect and the food was delicious! We had the vodka pasta and chiliqulies. We will definitely be back again to possibly try dinner. We appreciated how patient the team was here while we took a while to decide what we wanted because we were quite surprised with the menu options and excited to eat something different than we usually do. 10/10 definitely will return soon

Really amazing food, drinks, and service! This is my new favorite brunch place for sure. The horchata French toast was perfect, and the chilaquiles were everything.

What an epic little find! We were in downtown SJ on a Saturday afternoon, and looking for a quick bite - found The Club on Post randomly on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. SO glad we did! As others have commented, this place in on the part of Post that's basically an alleyway in the "Qmunity" district. You could easily walk past it and miss it, so make sure to look for the signboard in front. Service was very pleasant, food was VERY good, and vibe was very chill. There was a party having fun at the table next to us, and because of the acoustics (no fabrics) it was a bit loud at times. If that bothers you, there are tables outside with full service. We had the burger, the truffle fries, bacon, beet salad -- all excellent. I was particularly impressed that when I asked to have the salmon (from another dish) added to the beet salad, the server didn't even bat an eye -- "Of course we can do that for you." Cocktails were lovely, including "Spirited" Agua Frescas -- a first for me. Papaya w/ vodka was pretty great...

The food here was very good, I really enjoyed the steak and eggs and also the French toast! The environment is very small though, there's not much space in the restaurant. The service was also just mid, our waiter had a bit of an attitude, but overall it was fine.

My bf and I were in the area for a few errands and we stumbled across this place. It's tucked on Post street with cute shops nearby like Moments SJ and Tiny Keyboard shop. It was Saturday around lunchtime and not too busy at all. We were seated immediately. The interior design reminded me of Palm Desert vibes. It's a small restaurant but they have a full bar and nice decorations. We ordered the avocado toast ($24), horchata french toast ($22), and truffle fries ($16). The truffle fries came first. They were fine--crispy and garlicky. A good shareable! Then we got our entrees maybe 10-15 min later. The horchata french toast tasted more like a berry french toast with cinnamony ice cream. It was still good though, but it wasn't really giving horchata. The berry compote was nice and sweet. The bread they used was nicely toasted and buttery. My avocado toast was mehh. I felt like the slice of bread was so big compared to how much salmon and avocado I got. The avocado was a super thin layer. But I did get two poached eggs which were cooked fine. Honestly the brunch didn't stand out too much to me, but it wasn't horrible. Still a cute spot in DTSJ.

Not my personal cup of tea, but they do also offer sake and a few beers also. The first time we went, we ordered the arancini, bucatini, and the heritage pork katsu. I am a big advocate for trying new things every time I go to a restaurant, but it was so good I ordered the same thing the second time I went. Arancini is flavored with Japanese curry with creamy fontina in the center topped off with kimchi mayo. Holy f. These quite literally put the traditional Italian ones to shame (sorry not sorry). Next was the bucatini. It had tom yum butter, lime, basil- all the fix ins of what you want from tom yum flavors with the luxuriousness added from the butter. It was sinful. Last and certainly not least, is the pork katsu. I cannot even remember the last time I ordered a pork katsu, but something told me to order it. Thank God I did, as it quite literally changed my life. If they ever take it off the menu I am not sure I would be OK. It is crispy and is swimming in this koji butter, but the key is that it is NOT greasy. I quite literally think about it all the time. To the point where I had it twice in a week. Service was great, bartenders are so friendly. The place is cute and vibrant. Keep in mind it is small- limited seating inside and a small patio outside. But so worth the wait. Ambiance 5 Wine 5…read more Service 5 Food 5 So why the 4 rating... TBH there's a good chance that I'll adjust it soon, but if I could give a 4.5 I would. First the knock, and to be fair, it's probably just an opinion / idea. Given the birth of natural wine and the South Bay, it would be wonderful to see a curated selection of tasting flights, no more than two or three options with anywhere from 3 to 6 wine wines each, priced accordingly. Maintaining a proper wine menu when all you do is natural wine can certainly be a challenge. If you wine flights depending on what you have would certainly elevate the customer experience by educating more people natural wine and helping them make better choices when it comes to a bottle purchase. I paid $61 for a bottle that was recommended, and at that price point I wonder how many people who are new to natural wine might be turned off. Chris was a wonderful host and certainly the right person to engage with customers around their various wines. Given how small the space is and how busy it can get, a weekly tasting flight menu might be a good way to engage those customers who are waiting to order at the bar and perhaps even spark a more productive conversation with Chris. We ordered the peach and ricotta dish with Thai basil... wow, a wonderful surprise. Peaches are always battling in and out of the top spot on my summer fruit list and this combination was downright dirty and delicious! We also ordered the raw oysters with watermelon mignonette. Another wow! I didn't expect the little spice kick and it was a perfect pairing to the sweetness of the watermelon. If anyone knows the recipe let me know, I'd bottle that mignonette and take it with me wherever I have oysters!! Overall, a great experience and I most definitely look forward to going back!
