Deluxe Fresh Smoked Nova and Scallion Cream Cheese
    Madison C.

I was severely craving some Lox on a poppyseed bagel, and ordered Bagel Barn through yelp. I was delighted to find a quiet but spacious cafe across from the Princeton Airport. Indoor and outdoor seating available. I was delighted to see a spread of fun cream cheese flavors and deserts in the display windows inside. I had the honor of meeting the owner during my quick pickup and he was very kind. When I got back to my office I was so stoked to see the size of the pickle that came with my bagel, it was huge! the bagel was thoughtfully packed as to not be soggy or limp. The tomato slices were thick and sweet, and the lettuce crisp. I had to include a profile of my bagel to show off the healthy serving of lox on the Deluxe Fresh Smoked Nova and Scallion Cream Cheese bagel. Well worth the price and I will be ordering from here again! :)

I was all ready to not like this bagel based on how it looked. Its color is not great, kinda pale, not enough sesame, and not enough cream cheese. Luckily looks were deceiving and it was good! Service not great even when they weren't busy. Other people behind me were getting their orders and I had to ask about mine.

So the bagel was delicious, but the coffee was so weak. The experience was a little unnerving. The kitchen seemed to be running like a well oiled machine, but the two guys working the register need a lot of work. The place is very noisy and there is hanging plastic separating the customer from the cashier. The bored guy who our order was mumbling and confused. He kept asking the guy next to him random questions. The people who placed their orders were all clustered in the front. The coffee creamer station was blocked by folks waiting for their food. Just general chaos. They have a beautiful selection of spreads and bagels. Again, the kitchen seemed on top of things...front of house needs work.

This bacon, egg, & cheese on a French toast bagel with salt pepper ketchup was decent. The bagel is a bit too chewy for my liking, but all and all delicious. The part that was not so great.... not having a clue the price of my sandwich because the menu displayed has old prices (see photo) . I paid $9.08 which is wayyy too expensive in my opinion. I think it's time to update the menu board with the right prices, but hey-- what do I know? Lol.

To start off this review, bagels are one of my all-time favorite foods. I'm extremely picky about that classic NY bagel quality. Every bagel needs a perfect size, chewy inside yet crunchy outside, and exact salt content in the dough, even in sweet bagels. I remember a few family me members in the area mentioned that they frequent this place, and I decided to stop by when I was in the area in a weekday. In terms of location, the inside of this place is very nice for a bagel shop. It has a nice and clean seating area, and you can tell all furniture/service areas are newly installed. There's a huge variety of displayed cream cheese flavors and deli meats. There are also several beverage fridges with a ton of options for any preference. There's also a clearly labeled second day bagged bagel basket at the front offering discounted prices. I like that some shops do this, as it eliminates food waste. Before I walked up to the register to order, I browsed the very neat and generously-stocked bagel basket display. This place has a nice variety of your classic flavors along with some special twists thrown in there. My picky self also made note that the size was perfect. The bagels looked like they could hold a hefty sandwich, but they also weren't larger than my head. I wasn't super hungry at the moment I came in, so I decided to get two loose bagels, unsliced. This would also help me assess the texture and versatility when I ate them at home. I walked up to the employee at the register and greeted them. She wasn't rude by any means, but she also didn't make an extended effort to have welcoming customer service. I do like that she took my order and cashed me out quickly. The employee that prepped orders had mine out in under a minute. While I did only order two loose bagels, I liked that they prioritized my extremely quick order over a bunch of specific tickets for breakfast/lunch time. A few hours later, I was ready to eat my bagels. I wanted prep them simply. I got two simply flavors: Egg and Salt. As soon as I picked them up to slice into them, I was very satisfied with the texture. They had a nice crunch as the knife broke the outside of the bagel. The inside was extremely soft. When I finally bit into the bagel, I knew I had hit the jackpot. The dough recipe was spot on. I couldn't find a single thing wrong with either of the bagels. Overall, I'm super happy I found this place. While it's in a pretty boring area of NJ, it's extremely hard to find shops that ACTUALLY make the perfect stereotypical NJ bagel. While I can't vouch for the cream cheese or sandwich creations at this place, they got the most important part of the operation right. If you're ever 20 minutes or less from this area, pay it a visit.

This used to be the best bagel place around and they've really gone down hill. The bagels don't seem fresh and like they're from the day before even though we got them Sunday morning. Many of ours were hard and very misshapen. The bagels were over cooked and difficult to cut. The cream cheese is always good but not so good that it makes the bagels worth the price. The bacon, egg, and cheese now cost close to $10 for a very subpar bagel sandwich. Very disappointing since this was our family's favorite place for years.

Being from somewhere that isn't particularly known for bagels, I was struck by the quality of bagels from this place. The bagel itself has a slight crunchy crust, followed up by a soft inside that isn't dry. Bagel barn has an abundance of bagel types (plain, blueberry are my favorites) and greater selection of cream cheeses. I particularly like the steak special and lox sandwiches, they are sure to be filling and serve as a tasty meal! Moreover the staff are friendly and helpful. I didn't know what I was missing out on until I came here, remains one of my favorite places around

Equal parts full service deli and bake on premises bagel shop, Bagel Barn knows what it's doing. Their rounders are larger than most of the competition, and produced to be crisp on the outside, but light and airy within. With bagels it is easy to handle them too much before boiling & baking, making them too dense. As with the best pie crust, a light hand is the preferred way to go. The more air pockets, the better. I ordered an Onion Bagel with Veggie Spread and coffee. The joint was busy on a midweek morning, so I waited about 15 minutes for standing in line to place an order and hanging around for staff to complete my request, combined. In the meantime, I doctored my coffee, and stood to the side. When secured, I took a deuce outside along the front window and opened up the wrapping. While it wasn't overly covered in roasted onion flakes, first bite told the complete tale. The skin was firm and crunchy, while the inside was soft with fresh texture that welcomed the excellent housemade spread. A tad messy with each cleave of my incisors, I was happy I had taken napkins to wipe fingers and lips. This was a superior bagel worthy of going to near head of class. It now is among my three favorite bagel haunts; Bagel Train in Yardley, PA, Bagel Stop in Hamilton, NJ and the new star - Bagel Barn in Montgomery, NJ. Kudos to the bagel baker.

Very unhappy customer! I ordered about 17 bagels for my team at work, 5 different spreads and what…read moreI thought was a fruit tray, totaling about $70. I made the order yesterday to be curbside picked up by 6:30 a.m today before I went to work. When I got to Bagel Street Grill at 6:30 a.m, I sat in my car for 10 minutes and no one came out to bring me my pick up order, so I went inside to get it. When I got inside, my order was not ready!! How on earth is my order not ready when I placed my order an entire 24 hours prior? Once all of my bagels were ready, a male employee comes to me and tells me that they do not have a seafood salad spread, despite it being listed online, so the employee gave me the option to pick a different spread. I picked tuna, which technically was cheaper than the seafood salad spread, so I should have received a refund in the difference, but I did not. Secondly, the employee had no idea what the "cut and tray" was. Online, the 'cut and tray" is listed as an assorted fruit platter. The employee then tells me that I owe them $10 additional dollars because the "cut and tray" is for the bagels to be cut and packaged. This was an absolute lie, because I had already paid extra when I ordered my bagels to have them each cut and toasted. They were trying to make me pay $10 to put bagels in a container? Absolutely not! After I advised the employee that I have already paid to have my bagels cut and toasted and that online it says the "cut and tray" is assorted fruit, the employee proceeds to tell me that I now owe an additional $50 for fruit. Mind you, the fruit was not ready or with my order at the time. How do I suddenly owe an additional $50, when the employee did not even know what the "cut and tray" was until he called his boss? When I declined to pay an additional $50 and that it was okay, I didn't need the fruit and that I needed to go because I had to get to work, the employee starts to reprimand me stating that the confusion was my fault because technically my order is considered a catered order and online says that you have to call the store for catered orders. WHAT?!?!?! I bought bagels for my team, not a party and to tell the customer that they are at fault because the employee is not properly trained on what their products are is ridiculous! How about Bagel Street Grill update their website! If you don't carry a seafood spread, remove it. If ordering 17 bagels is considered catering, then the establishment needs to put on their website the amount of bagels they consider a catered order. Lastly, Bagel Street Grill needs to provide better training to their managers and employees, because the staff is disrespectful. I was over 25 minutes late to work because the employees at Bagel Street Grill did not have my order ready, did not deliver my order to my vehicle, were unknowledgeable on their own products, and rude! I have grown up in Plainsboro and have gone to that bagel shop a plethora of times over the years and today was the first time that I was disappointed in service and won't be returning! I will also ensure I provide my feedback and experience at Bagel Street Grill to family, friends, and social media to warn others about the customer service at this place!
