This was a great no-frills coffee spot for a bagel. I stopped in on a weekday morning around nine and there was one other person in the shop however it's still took a while to get my food owners were friendly and helpful. I ended up getting the turkey bacon, scallion cream cheese and tomato on a whole wheat, scooped out toasted bagel. The bagel itself was decent and I appreciated how crispy the bacon was. I have nothing bad to say, but it wasn't anything special just a plain bagel. I also had an iced coffee, which was not bad. Price was fair and I would return. read more

A family-own spot tucked away in an unassuming complex in the Plainsboro area -- stopped by for a bagel on a Saturday AM. They were out of some popular flavors, but the bagel itself was delicious! First time trying the bagel place upon a local's recommendation. I've heard that NJ is known for their incredible bagels so I had extremely high expectations this morning. I was feeling hungry so I opted for a bacon, egg, and cheese on a jalapeño bagel. Also did as assorted order of 6 bagels with a side of jalapeño cheddar cream cheese on the side so that I could sample all of them. I felt like my breakfast bagel was a bit on the hard side, but the sesame bagel was SO soft. I will definitely just opt for the sesame bagels next time I drop by! read more

A warm bagel is a joy to behold, dripping in buttery goodness as the heated dough becomes one with the lightly salted spread. Is it the best I've ever had? Hard to say but I can tell you it's tied for first with about 30 other bagel shops from here to Manhattan, Philadelphia and beyond. Seriously, the chew is definitive without the undercooked taffy pull that has spoiled many a breakfast and corrupted more than a few dentures. Wish they had a couple more staff to make the process quick. Just one of them doing everything .. loved the coffee too. The bagel breakfast sandwich with bacon, sausage, egg, and cheese was good. Blueberry bagel with cream cheese was ok as it looked like they just used blue food coloring. Absolutely friendly staff that treat customers like family and they make their food with love and care! I highly recommend trying their bagels with pork roll, egg and cheese. A lot of bagel sandwiches focus too much on what goes inside and not enough on the bread. The Bagel Place have the BEST bagels, and it makes all of their sandwiches taste that much better! This store is also Korean-owned and therefore also sell rice bowls with homemade marinated beef and pork! It's SO good and the price is a steal!!! Time for a bump to 4 Estrellas. I am really liking their bagels more and more. The consistency of the crisp skin and well-aerated core has me mildly addicted; so much so that my reason for stopping there (on my way to court in Elizabeth) has me actually looking forward to an otherwise miserable drive. Too, I like that the local constabulary hangs out there in the morning. Now, if they made an effort to bring in better coffee, The Bagel Place could be really something. read more

By far the most decadent bagels I have ever allowed past my lips ever in my life. It's like these things were hand crafted by God himself. super disappointing :( stopped at The Bagel Place while making a lunchtime trip to CVS in the same shopping center. i ordered an egg salad with lettuce, onion, tomato on an everything bagel... what i got was was a soggy, tough, bland mess. the bagel itself was on the stale side- dense, tough to chew, and not flavorful. the egg salad was runny and unseasoned, and the yolks were green-ish. the lettuce was limp. all of the flavor came from the sliced tomato and red onion in the sandwich. with Bagel Street just down the road, i definitely won't be back. fun fact: they sell lottery tickets. read more

Honestly, best everything bagel I have ever had. They smother both sides in toppings and they do not skimp on the good stuff. They also include salt in their everything mixture which some places do not do. Breakfast sandwiches are freshly made and well worth the wait. read more
