Really enjoyed this place for a Saturday morning breakfast. Despite being extremely busy, we were able to get seating inside and the team kept the line moving. Coffee was great - had a hot latte which was very sold. The breakfast sandwich on English muffin was very good too. Of course, they've got lots of little pies and other desserts. The Dinky cake donut creation we ordered was delicious, but you'll need to be a fan of cream cheese to enjoy the filling. It was lively when we were there and is obviously a local favorite. The seating is minimal inside, but has some tables for small and large groups (just not many). We'll definitely come back in the future. read more

I recently tried LiLLiPiES Bakery for lunch over the weekend. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese and an iced mocha. The bacon, egg and cheese was quite yummy and I loved how they have English muffins made in house. The everything English muffin was unique and just right. The iced mocha was solid and did the job, but didn't stand out to me. For how busy it was, my food and drink came out relatively quick. I took my order on the go, but they do have a bit of seating as well. My only complaint about this place is that they are quite pricy. Besides that, I do look forward to trying some of their pastries in the future. read more

Lillipies Bakery is a cute little bakery in Princeton. I happened to stop by on an Sunday afternoon after being in the area for something else. One thing I'll have to say about this place....if you're expecting to get any of their mini pies, be sure to get there early or place an order in advance. When I got there, the pickings were very slim. I ended up with a mini vanilla cake and mini apple pie. Both desserts were tasty, but nothing to rave about. The service was okay. I was in and out pretty quickly. I would check them out again, but I'll definitely take my own advice of ordering in advance. read more

It's been a while since I've been here and I was excited to go back. With Thanksgiving around the corner I went specifically to try the smaller versions of their pies. Despite a line, it moved quickly and the service was very friendly. It's a cute bakery, a little tight but there's seating and two doors make it easier to get in and out in a crowd. Unfortunately I can't recommended the pie! The pumpkin had a nice flavor but the others were very bland which was surprising. They have plenty of other things on the menu and it was busy so they must do other items well. read more

I'm really disappointed in the service of this place and sadly it's not the first time. My husband ordered me a latte and unfortunately it was not made hot I can only call it lukewarm. After returning and explaining the situation the young girl at the register not only didn't apologize but proceeded to roll her eyes. Hopefully some coaching can be provided by the manager for good customer service when you're paying a premium for a coffee - probably where they make the most profit. Here to give 5 stars to the ginger pear GF pie, which gives an egg free, nut free treat for my allergic daughter. Very difficult to find a fresh baked dessert that avoids the minefield of her allergies, but a knowledgeable staffer directed us to this one and it was a win. Instagram reminds me of their daily specials. I've been smitten over this adorable peach pie! I introduced a friend to this place today. There was one peach pie remaining by the time I arrived. I love LilliPies! I have been twice now. One time I got the super seeded english muffin with butter and jelly. The spreads were packaged and you spread them on yourself but still delicious. The second time I visited I got an egg sandwich which was a multigrain english muffin with egg and arugula. Even more tasty! The english muffins are super soft and hearty. I love the freezer full of breads ready to grab and bring home as well. The people I was with both trips got a variety of foods, egg and bacon sandwich, chocolate croissant, hash bowl, chai latte, ect. Everything always looks and tastes wonderful. Service is wonderful as well. The workers are so informative and ready to answer any questions or curiosities. Definitely worth the wait and price! read more

Wow. This is the bakery I've been looking for. In a great shopping center 5 minutes from downtown Princeton. Plenty of parking. Reasonably priced - I seriously expected everything to cost more than it did for a fancy little bakery in Princeton. The coffee was the only thing that was pricey at $3.25 for a small but it's very good (Small World Coffee). They offer a bread punch card for buying baguettes and such. The avocado toast was fantastic on a super seedy English muffin (they had 3 options to pick from). Next time, I'll either add egg or ask for hot sauce for my personal preference. The fresh lemon and pepitas were a nice touch. My husband got pancakes and those were out of this world good. Not pictured got a blueberry scone that I took a few bites of because I couldn't wait and it was delicious. Can't wait to eat my other goodies. read more

A cute little bakery tucked away in a shopping plaza. We stopped in for a quick bite for breakfast. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. None of my baked goods were very impressive, they were both fine, but rather plain. The scone had a hint of lemon flavor which I specifically asked about and was told there wasn't any. LiLLiPIES Bakery in the Princeton Shopping Center is a very nice place for a pleasant breakfast hangout if you are enjoying an easy Friday morning at the end of a long week. Locally owned and operated, walking in you immediately see the simple utilitarian set up with tables along the two glass walls overlooking the broad walkways with outdoor seating for the many eateries within the complex. The glass display case shows off the undeniable baking skills, while the aroma of coffee, hot ovens and beautiful loaves of bread beckons you to linger. I ordered two of their pancakes and coffee, and too a deuce hightop to await service of my morning meal. The place was busy with a mixture of student types and women stopping in after nearby workouts to hydrate or consume carbs. Service by the young women behind the counter and in the kitchen was friendly and efficient. Both food and drink were brought to me with a smile and soft shout of my name. The java was fresh and strong. The two pancakes, more than I could finish, and very absorbent of both the butter and syrup applied liberally by me. They were also quite fine, but would have been even better with real maple syrup and an offering of fresh fruit on top. An up charge would be understandable, but these options were not presented. A few blueberries and Grade B Dark would have made this a more memorable experience. Just a suggestion for attaining 5 Star status in an otherwise special place. read more

Unlike Maman LilliPies is a proper bakery with excellent pastries, cakes and their sourdough boule looks,feels and tastes like Paris. Only open till 2pm their wares go fast so ordering your favorites online is advisable but the service is seamless and friendly in store. We just moved five minutes from this restaurant so I went to check it out today. It is the cutest nicest little place and the employees are just so fantastic. I was inquiring about cinnamon buns for my daughter's birthday party and ended up buying a couple of other things. Jen (the owner) even welcomed to me with free English muffins to welcome us to the Neighbourhood. I cannot wait to go there and meet some friends for coffee. Popped in here after stuffing ourselves at Bagel Nook. Bought a sourdough loaf and cinnamon buns to take home. The cinnamon buns were fantastic sweet but not overly so so you really got the cinnamon flavor. The dough was wonderful. The sourdough loaf was perfect for a sandwich or paired with a cheese plate. I am obsessed with LiLLiPiES! I have been meaning to stop in since I moved to the area a few years ago and finally went today and I am so pleased with my experience. They are in a great location, directly in the middle of Princeton Shopping Center. You can park right by Surf Taco will find it right across the way from their main entrance. The staff was so friendly, welcoming and helped me to find what I was looking for. The service was also very quick and the food was very clearly made to order. SUPER FRESH! We ordered a Vanilla and a Carrot Doughnut and they were DELICIOUS! They were both super light and moist Cake Doughnuts and I wish I had ordered twice as many. We also ordered some egg & cheese breakfast sandwiches. As a vegetarian, it was great to see plenty of options on the menu. We also bought two bags of their own custom blend of Small World Coffee which is our favorite local coffee shop. I also saw a bunch of items from other Princeton small businesses like Bent Spoon Ice Cream and Griggstown Farm. It was great to see a local small business supporting other local small businesses especially after so many have closed due to the pandemic. I cannot wait to come back and highly recommend that everyone check them out if you are in the area. Grab a cup of coffee, a snack, some sweets or a meal. This review has been in my drafts for a while as I've been debating about posting it. I like LiLLiPiES a lot, but I recommended them to a friend to order a pie for an event and we ended up being pretty disappointed. It was especially surprising to me since I've tried and liked their mini pies, and I had been excited to try their full size pies after seeing that they won the Princeton Tour Company's apple pie contest. I'm not sure if the special order we received was an anomaly, but I'm wary of taking my chances on the full pies again. I have not tried many of the breads here, which I have heard are excellent. So I hope I can update with a happier review in the future. The baked goods are all very reasonably priced. The prices I listed below are all at the time when I purchased them, so they may have changed since then. Recommended: -Scones ($2.50) - really like the orange ginger cardamom one! -Lillipies ($3) - crusts are doughy and buttery, rather than flaky and there is a lot of crust relative to filling. I recommend letting them come to room temperature a bit because they are cold in the display. My favorite so far is the pear with hazelnut frangipane. I personally did not love the bourban pecan as much (soft of like salty honey pie; I couldn't really taste the bourbon). These are great with a scoop of Bent Spoon ice cream on top! -Madeleines ($1.25) - great and light. -Macarons ($2.25) - not always available but the dulce de leche macaron I had a few months ago was pretty good though very sweet. OK: -Donuts ($2) - light and cakey but flavors aren't very strong; I think there are better choices here. I tried the apple cider and the black and white. -Baguette ($3.75) - really gorgeous looking. They are difficult to cut though - the crust is very hard. -Sweet and salty cookie - just ok. -Savory oatmeal ($4.75) - the first few bites were really good, but later it felt monotonous and heavy/greasy. So I would get this only to split with other people. -LiLLiPiE Egg Sandwich ($7.95) - pretty standard and really pricey for what it is. I got it on potato hash (which became pretty greasy) but it might be better with bread. Not recommended: -Apple pie ($25) - crust is very brittle and crunchy, super different from the mini pie crusts. The filling was flavorless, and the crumble on top was overly sweet and unpleasantly crunchy. We didn't think it was worth the price. However, we did get it at a time when apples weren't in season. -Babka ($9) - tried both the cinnamon and chocolate versions. We thought they were pricey and not that great. read more

They were both decently sized and $7 for both (I didnt see any prices for the baked goods in the display case). The scone was not dry at all and not too sweet- tasted really great! I have been enjoying LiLLiPiES since their Farm market days. Excellent donuts and scone. Probably all of the baked goods rock. I am not big on pie so can't comment on that. They serve Small World coffee. Staff is great. I always enjoy the turkey sandwich they offer and their soups. Free WiFi so it's a good spot to camp and do work as well. Lots of regulars stopping by. They also have a bread club. But 12 loaves get the 13 free. Sort of a nice perk. read more

I debated posting this review as I generally really want to support small businesses; however, I've found the service to be lacking at Lillipies. I have been there a few times recently and continue to experience lukewarm service and recently went (this morning) to find several people working there yet none of them being very helpful or kind. The lines weren't long. I asked for a simple request and one of the staff wasn't accommodating (ie to cut a slice of cake in half for my kids - no sweat off his back? but asked me to do it myself). I also saw that they were more helpful to the person in front of me who was placing a smaller order but was of a different skin tone. It's 2021 and there are other places to go to be treated fairly and get equally good food with better service. In terms of the product (vs. the service), the coffee is not my favorite. I like their cookies and scones. It's in a great location with convenient parking and outdoor seating. However, there are other places in town to get equally good chocolate croissants, better coffee, and nicer service. And in the shopping center, there are also other breakfast options. I want to support small businesses, but I'm not thrilled about their unequal service and feel that I'd rather spend my money for kinder service and better food (even if with a worse parking situation). read more

Had a great experience with breakfast here - easy parking, open early on the weekend (key with little kids) plus kid friendly menu items! The pancakes actually reminded me of my grandpa's and the everything English muffin was so good on my BEC that I bought 4 (get a 5th free!) for breakfast during the week. My only possible quibble is I only saw one high chair but I only needed one so it was a non issue for me personally. I came at the end of the day and wanted to get a couple of pumpkin and a couple of Apple pies but all they had left was one apple and other types of pies. So I got the Apple and another apple and cranberry pie. Crust was nice and flakey and even with the crumb topping, neither of the pies were too sweet. On my way to a conference in Piscataway, traffic became so dense, and my arrival so delayed, that I abandoned the route in Princeton, making my way along back roads to Harrison St. I parked at the Princeton Shopping Center in search of coffee and happened upon Lillipies. Lillipies' signature treats are miniature pies based on local ingredients. I've now just orgasmed over a blueberry creme brulee confection and an almond macaroon biscuit. A Small World coffee balances the sweet treat. My day is much better now. I'll depart with plenty of time to catch the afternoon sessions, which were the focus of interest, anyway... You can find it nestled in a walkway that leads to a bunch of outside tables overlooking a courtyard. In the warmer months it's actually pretty nice as you can take your food and walk around the garden area that leads to a large outside fountain. The bakery itself is nice and offers many options such as sandwiches, muffins and fresh made cookies. I had their black bean burger sandwich which was ok. The bread was actually delicious but the burger itself was too beany. Also had a few of their muffins which were good. They also have a good selection of yogurt and drinks there as well. The main draw here in my opinion are the baked goods and the outside seating in the warmer months.
