I come here because the food is good. The prices are ok and the staff is friendly. They always get the order correct and I do appreciate that. With that being said, sometimes in life you must close your eyes at what you see, this place needs a good deep down cleaning. I've been to Bagel Brothers a number of times over the years and they are consistent. Their everything bagels have barely any seeds on them, there is always a line, service is good, and everything has good flavor. This is not my favorite bagel shop in the area but it's one of the only ones close for the people who live over here. I've been coming to bagel brothers for the last 7 years at least. I drive from Patchogue to get their bagels because they are the best. I just looked up to see the hours because I'm writing this on a holiday and see some of the reviews. 7 years!. Maybe 2 or 3 times a mistake on an order which they corrected no problem. I'm not sure what kind of chicken they served me, but I wouldn't feed it to a stray dog. I went yesterday expecting a decent lunch, and what I got was a rubber textured monstrosity masquerading as a chicken cutlet on a roll. It was chewy, grayish, and had that reheated in a shoe flavor that screamed microwaved "meat" more than freshly cooked anything. Fast forward a few hours, and both me and my fiance were laid out with nausea, stomach pain, and full blown food poisoning symptoms. I've had better meals from a gas station, literally. The fact that this place would serve this is honestly disgusting. Either they don't care, or they need to take a hard look at their food safety practices. If I wanted to gamble with my digestive system, I'd eat raw chicken in a parking lot not pay for it at a deli. I never feel compelled to leave a review, but this ruined my 4th of July weekend as I'm still sick and I am truly shocked I was served/paid for this. If a bagel shop can't even make a toasted buttered bagel correctly, there's a problem. Was really craving a toasted buttered bagel this morning so I stopped in and ordered one. I got to my car and opened it up, the bagel looked and felt like it was toasted for 30 seconds, it was barely even warmed. He put a small glob of butter in the middle that didn't even cover the bagel, barely even melted that's how much he didn't toast the bagel. Usually I'd just say whatever and drive away, but I don't eat bagels often and I really wanted to enjoy this bagel so I went back in and asked someone else to remake the bagel for me and just toast it and put some butter on it. She asks so you want it extra toasted with extra butter? I said I just want it toasted with a normal amount of butter...like any other place would do. So, of course she has to be sarcastic about it, I get to my car and butter starts pouring out of my bagel all over me and my car. It was a huge mess. Once I finally cleaned up the butter I then had to take napkins and squeeze my bagel to get butter out of. Thankfully I had a bunch of napkins. Was that really necessary? These people touch money garbage bags scratch there heads face etc. even a employee was smoking outside with his gloves on then goes back behind the counter and helps a customer and prepares the food with the same gloves that he smoked a cigarette touched the entrance door. First I need to say this is one of the best bagel places around & very consistent with the quality. I've been coming here for years & has always been pleasant. For the past 6 months or so I've been coming early (4:45am) because I need to be at work by 5:30. The guy I deal with I believe is the owner is Great & has told me it's not a problem to come early for what I need. I understand it's early BUT who ever the older woman is has got to be the hastiest & rudest person I've ever seen. I entered the store yesterday at 2:50 and noticed a couple stools set on top of the counter. I asked what time were they closing and they said 3:30. I ordered an ice tea and a muffin and noticed it was a mix rather real ice tea. Like really, how hard is it to make real ice tea? I got a coffee and muffin and actually really liked the muffin. The problem is a guy cleaning around me brought out the dirtiest oldest mop I have seen in awhile and was mopping around me. The smell of the water made me want to throw up. The bagels here are always fresh! They have a large variety to choose from. They are soft on the inside and chewy on the outside. This is just as good as a Brooklyn bagel. The service for me was quick, I never wait and they have plenty of staff that are always friendly. They never got my order wrong, I know a lot of people say they do, but this is the only place I go for fresh bagels. They make bacon the right way with a crunch, and they put a good amount on my sandwich. It says a lot when you do the small things right. Had not had Bagel Brothers in several months, And was in area so picked up a dozen to go. The bagels were hot and really good. Not the best in the area but good. The place is always crowded any time i have been there. A lot of times i used to go towards the afternoon when they run there daily special on bagels. I believe it was like 3 or 4 dollars a dozen after a certain time i think 2-4pm. They are basically Liquidating what is left for the day. Just call to find out what the special is and when it is from too. The service is fast and friendly and never had any problems there. Big bagel breakfast sandwiches. I went on a Saturday and it was super busy but they pumped people through and everyone waiting knew the drill. I went again on Sunday, and it was much quieter. Very good and generously portioned bagels. Long lines move quickly thanks to the friendly and efficient staff. Besides the bagels they also offer an excellent chopped salad made to order for lunch.
