My fiancé and his friend found this place one morning when our regular go to breakfast sandwich shop in town was closed. It was fate. My fiancé got us both a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel and then a salt bagel with lox and all the fixings. The lox bagel was heaven. So delicious, the bagel was thick and was just the right balance between soft and a little crunchy/ hard. They used the perfect amount of cream cheese too. The breakfast sandwich was equally amazing although they forgot to put a hash brown on mine. I'm so glad they found this place because it's so close to home and definitely worth the 15 minute trip to get a good breakfast. Definitely stop by if you're ever in the Newtown area. Was there on September 6, 2021 at noon and the food safety was terrible! They had deli meat and mayonnaise sitting at room temp for over an hour - SO dangerous. The older cashier working the register (handling money and cards) would turn around and bag bagels with her unwashed and ungloved hands. If you've eaten here then gotten sick, I'm not surprised. Finally I asked about it and she conveniently remembered that she overcharged me 30 minutes prior and refunded me less than the difference in price. ZERO STARS. Just called to place an order on the phone and a girl picked up. I was halfway through my order when I was hung up on. I called back and a man picked up and very quickly said "we're not taking orders over the phone. Bye" and hung up. Bagel Delight has the biggest freahest bagels I've seen in a long time. They offer a great variety and the everything bagel is literally loaded with everything. I was a big fan of Ami's Bagel in Waterbury but overtime the everything bagel looked like a plain that picked up remnants in the bag. Glad I stopped. read more

I won't shop from any other place then bagel delight to get bagels. Bagel delight puts other bagel shops to shame. Also the bagels are fresh doughy and delicious. She put so much commitment into every bagel. She wakes up at five to get it open by six and makes bagels for anyone who comes in the store. I've never met such a kind caring store owner. This is basically Bagelman under a different name.... do yourself a favor and go to Bagelman in Brookfield. Every time I go here I get the same thing and I never have paid the same price, I am pretty sure the old lady who runs the cashier decides how much she wants to charge for things that day. Aside from this being extremely annoying, the service is slow and unorganized. Mixed reviews here - I am really disappointed in my lox sandwich. It was the worst lox I've ever had actually. I feel bad because I normally love lox and also because it was our first time there and I loved the people and the bagels were good! But I got the trash parts of the lox on my bagel. It was chewy and stringy. Not enough cream cheese, either. However, my wife got a sausage egg and cheese and gave me half after my lox disappointment - it was really yummy!! Not too salty, lots of egg and cheese, sausage wasn't gristly. Nice! One more small issue - no blueberry bagels or cheddar bagels, and no jalapeño cream cheese! Absolutely unreal prices that do not match the menu posted online at all. I got a bagel with cream cheese and bacon and was charged $10. The old lady's reasoning was that the bacon up charges it to $9.60 before tax. What makes it even better is there was no more than two slices of bacon. COVID is tough and curbside is brutal. These guys were hustling! They are curbside and it's kind of disaster bc it's who ever they see first. So you can be sitting there for 10-15 minutes before getting recognized. I had to flag the lady down. I only wanted one bagel and a coffee. She graciously took my order. I waited 45 minutes. Apparently she wrote down the wrong car so I had to trouble the other young woman who apologized and obtained my order. I STRONGLY recommend that you call ahead and give them at least 30 minutes for smaller orders and maybe an hour for larger one. They are doing their best in a pandemic. I recommend getting Walkie talkies. You can have someone taking order and radio them into someone who wrote it down. It will help with the back and forth. or maybe have a stand outside and have the people order outside. The bagel was good, just cold. read more

Sadly half hidden behind a tree, Bagel Delight was a good experience. I decided to go creative and get the cranberry bagel with walnut-raisin cream cheese, lightly toasted. It was a little bit sweet, but very good (next time I'll get a plain bagel with sweet cream cheese or a sweet bagel with plain cream cheese...). The cream cheese was almost definitely home-made--awesome! They have a lot of drink choices and some lunch offerings like pulled pork (untested). This place is amazing. I literally look forward to the weekends so I can go to Bagel Delight. Not only are their bagels delicious and fresh, the staff is super nice. They make a notable effort to form a personal connection with each customer and often throw in extra bagels at no additional charge. I'm sure their sandwiches and other deli offerings are wonderful, but I haven't had the chance to try them because I am powerless to stray from the beauty that is their bacon-egg-cheese on an onion bagel. (Although I have tried their onion, sesame seed, poppy seed, and plain bagels with butter, which are all delicious as well.) In addition to bagels and sandwiches, they have an extensive beverage selection, good coffee, and fruit salad, cream cheese, and baked goods to go. They also hang artwork from local artists on their walls.
