Small chicken burrito with everything
Iris S.

Their bagels are fair but the real standout is their burritos. I had a chicken burrito with everything and their hot salsa. It was beyond amazing. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. The vegetables crunchy and fresh. There is no better burritos in ri/ma (trust me... we constantly look)

Bagel Gourmet is probably the number one place for lunch between my coworkers and I. The food is consistently good. It's literally a five minute walk from our building which is a huge plus. It's pretty clean inside. The service is good but not exactly great. They seem to work fast but food doesn't come out very fast. I wonder what they are doing wrong. It's not always clear as to where you should stand when ordering and waiting for your food...but that's not very important. My biggest complaint is that the prices online are different from the actual prices at the café. I asked for an up-to-date take-out menu and the gentleman's response was that they don't have any and can't do anything about it because the person who created the menu doesn't work there anymore. Well, alrighty then. Just FYI, plan to pay more than what you calculate! Four stars in this case is pretty generous. I hope they make some improvements in the near future. Perhaps bring back delivery to nearby offices? That would be awesome especially for big orders!

Bagel Gourmet has the best bagels in the area. Bagel Gourmet Cafe on Richmond has a large seating area with a bar by the window. It's always bright and clean. There are a lot of options for bagels and cream cheese. They also have salads, burritos, wraps, pizzas, etc. The guys at the counter are really friendly and work quickly. It can be a bit pricey for food other than bagels. Great lunch spot.

Greek salad, super fresh!
Kendra N.

Since moving to the area, I have been trying to find a place that offers some good bagels with some type of variety. I want choices of bagel types and cream cheese flavors, well I found the place! Was happy to find that parking was easy, short walk over to the corner building. They have so many bagel choices and about 7 different types of cream cheese flavors. I opted for the Sunflower seed bagel and the guy working was super nice, offered me so many different options. Got the spicy chipotle cream cheese, how cool!! The only thing is there was a sign $5 minimum purchase on credit cards. well I rarely have cash in this day in age so I needed to buy something else. There are a ton of lunch choices so I got the Greek salad to go. The employee asked me if I wanted tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, or grilled chicken for an additional cost to put on top. I wasn't interested but thought it was great that he offered it, I would have never even thought of it. The bagel was really good and the salad was super fresh. Overall, great stop when I need a good bagel fix and I would definately grab another salad in the future. I would like to try their burritos too so if you head there for lunch you shouldn't be disappointed by the numerous options. Also, there was a lot of seating inside so if you aren't in a rush you will find a spot to chill.

Very disappointed when I got home and found there was barely any cream cheese

I have been going to Bagel Gourmet for the breakfast burritos for years. The salsa is what sets them apart from anywhere else.

Over priced and mediocre. If they better moderated how much cream cheese they use, they could drop prices.

First off, the good: Ethan our server was very sweet…read moreThe food was DELICIOUS (carnitas quesadilla and bean dip in particular) However we had a pretty bad customer service experience with the owner who was contacted after we noticed a discrepancy with our bill. We ordered the chips and guac for 14.50, which comes with beans and salsa, and says says free refills (menu attached). We asked for one refill of beans and one of guac. When we got the bill, we were supposed to see charges for the beans and guac. Our server explained that the free refills were only for the chips and salsa. We asked to see a menu again and pointed out that it says free refills. Our server contacted the owner/manager who doubled down on the misleading statement and charged us for both refills (total of 10.50 additional cost). It's really a bummer because I had read a bunch of reviews on here and my takeaway is that the food is great but the management leaves something to be desired. Be upfront with your customers! It's a great restaurant with delicious food, I'm glad small businesses exist, and I wish that we had been treated with more grace and honesty. Losing $10 on your end (or even just being upfront and stating the refill policy on the menu) is well worth it for a positive customer experience. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars but took 1 off for the misleading pricing and another for the way that it was handled by the manager.

One of my favorite places for a date or to bring friends! I feel like I'm always talking about how…read moremuch I love it here. The menu is small and yet there's always plenty of yummy things to try when I go, even as a picky eater. There are multiple vegetarian and even a vegan option or two. I always have to get the guac when I come here - it's the perfect amount of creaminess without too much onion. Their red salsa is a great slightly chunky - slightly juicy texture and has a bit of a kick. The vegan burrito bowl is my go-to as a vegetarian, and the street corn side as an app is elite! It is a little spicier these days since the recipe was updated from on the cob to off the cob (I much prefer off for ease of eating and sharing!) The Coconut Cartel margarita was creamy and smooth and went down *quick* haha. Others in my party loved the spicy Margarito, although they were out of the main spicy tequila but the servers offered substitute recommendations. I came with a very large work group today, and the servers were so patient and flexible when we asked for modifications from the menu. I even was able to order the queso dip with the chorizo on the side (yummy but very thick cheese dip!), and they were very attentive of my colleague's mushroom allergy and made sure she got dedicated dishes, even when we were all sharing apps. The churro donuts seem to have changed recipe and got mixed reviews - some thought they were dry, another says she Uber Eats just those regularly Sitting outside in the summer on the patio is nice. Tasty, interesting dishes with modern urban twists on Mexican recipes. Truly the only slight downside is that sometimes parking can be tricky in this area, but you can always find free street parking, it may just take you a little bit. Even the funky and creative decor is a selling feature for me. A must-try!

I used to come here all the time when I lived in Providence. In the three times I've been back over…read morethe last few years, I've had a couple stellar experiences and one subpar experience. But I'm someone that believes anyone can have an off day so overall this place is really great. First and foremost, get the margarita. They are the best I've ever had. Also, get the tacos. Even as an app they're so great. I got the shrimp and a veg recently. I've enjoyed all of the entrees I've ever gotten. Honorable mention is the shrimp Diablo. Super spicy and delightful. The interior is warm, cozy, and a perfect combo of lit enough so you can see but dark enough to set a mood for spilling tea or flirting with your date. Equal parts good for girls night and good for date night. The not so great: I got flautas once and they fell flauta (haha). Also, it's sometimes a one man show so service can be slow especially if you need refills so be sure to order multiple drinks at a time, or better yet a pitcher. Street parking can be a real pain but sometimes you get lucky on a side street. Definitely worth a visit if you've never been!

I found Chilangos by serendipity: we were looking for a Mexican restaurant that was open on Tuesday…read moreand we liked the menu on the website because the food was true Mexican food, not the usual Americanized Mexican. So we took a chance. And we were not at all disappointed! First, we were greeted warmly, in a genuine way, by the owner. They seemed genuinely glad to have us. The older gentleman was friendly and playful towards my son. The food was delicious! I had enchiladas with housemate mole. The mole was fantastic: complex and nuanced. My daughter had enchiladas verde, which was smothered in a poblano salsa that was also complex, with great green heat. My son ordered the arracherra, a peppercorn rubbed steak served with homemade guacamole and a delicious cactus salad. I was tempted by several other dishes, particularly the enchiladas mineras (beef cheeks - yum!). All in all, a warm, welcoming, delicious experience that made me want come back. And I will.

A friend and I came in and put our names on the waitlist, waited for about 45 minutes at a bar down the street, and then had some of the most fulfilling tapas ever! We got a Prosciutto & Salpicao board, the Queijo de Cabra, and Frijol Dip. I also got a nice portuguese red wine that paired well with some of the cheese we received. We sat in a very sweet and cozy nook and enjoyed every minute! I will be back when it's warm out and the front patio is open!

At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.
