whole wheat Bagel w/Egg, Cheese & Meat
Maisune E.

i appreciate the new york bagel being on thayer street and yesterday when i was in need of a very solid, protein-filled breakfast after my morning work-out, i was craving bagel gourmet. i got a whole wheat everything with egg, swiss, and steak (listed as beef on the menu). i really appreciate steak as an option because that's what i get in nyc too. they have a lot of cheese options and schmear options and make a lot of different bagels. i went around 9am and you could tell the bagel was fresh. price is also new york though which means i can't make this a regular thing. my bagel was $10.55 after tax before tip. very swift and helpful service. and smells delicious. love the cute menu design though it does take a little longer to read everything, but has that local bakery feel to it.

Bagel w/Egg , Cheese & Sausage

Great breakfast bagel sandwich. I mean there's just not much more to say other than it's just really one of the better ones I've had. The egg is never overcooked, the sausage is perfect and the bagels always taste great. I've tried multiple bagel places in Providence and this one has my favorite. The cons: no real tables to eat at and parking can be a challenge. So we call ahead to pick it up to go and one person jumps out to grab it. Just an FYI. I definitely recommend!

"Grilled bagel w CC on the side"

It was actually my first time coming here in about 10 to 15 years. The staff was busy. The gentleman at the counter came over and asked me for my order. My order was very simple, everything bagel grilled with cream cheese on the side. Waited 10 minutes, got my order. I open the bag and its a toasted bagel with a slap of cream cheese on the bagel . I mean it was a simple order but I get it. It happens. Will I go back? Prob in another 10yrs.

Onion bagel and Lox & Plain Cream Cheesecake tomatoes and cucumber

Quick service. Overall bagel was okay. Not much flavor and the lox should have been more evenly spread on the bagel and not just on one side.

Staple for brown students and locals alike. Quality bagels + just opened new location so have two like 500 ft from eachother. Unsure why but both still are very popular. No seating in either but plenty of places nearby to sit and eat. My favorite order is egg cheese and scallion cream cheese, sausage is fire as well.

Quick service, friendly smiles. I got an egg, cheese and avocado on an onion bagel. A great way to grab a bite to go.

The breakfast burrito with steak is the BEST. After graduating from brown, I still go back to providence and make sure to stop here

Their sandwiches are (to steal a line) superlative! You can get an awesome plain Jane deli sandwich (ie Turkey sub, ham & cheese, corned beef, etc) OR go through the literal DOZENS of concoctions of their signature sandwiches...you can't lose! Tucked in on South Main St now down by the pedestrian bridge, you can people watch the pedestrians (usually coming & going from either financial district/Downtown or the court houses as you await your culinary masterpiece to arrive)...you won't be disappointed! My current faves are Jen & Berry or The Juggs; but I have never had something that wasn't pleasing. There are long tables, so if you are by yourself or a small party & it is packed, you might have to share; but don't look at it as a drawback...look at it as connecting with a fellow human being(s).

They close online ordering when they're really busy. One of my friends refreshed their online ordering around 11am and saw they were allowing online orders, but by the time the 6th friend tried, it had closed back up. I placed my order for one sandwich at 11:05am and the expected pick up time was 12:12. I ordered their hash-it-out, added sausage, and subbed the spicy aioli for their maple one. The bolo bun has a subtle sweetness to it, so it felt like I was eating a healthier, higher-end McGriddle. Everything was perfect. One was definitely filling enough, but I can see people getting addicted.

The first time I didn't and just showed up to a line and had to wait about 20 minutes if I remember correctly for my breakfast burrito (after waiting in line to place my order). The second time I ordered in advance and tried the Sunday Sandwich. Both were delicious options I would happily get again. There are several other sandwiches I look forward to trying too. The seating inside is limited. When the weather is nice they also have small tables outside but those can also fill up quickly.

They were already closed when I drove by yesterday evening so I wasn't able to see what it looked like inside. But for some reason, I felt compelled to give them a visit. After all, when it's cold like this...I have a tendency to find a bakery in the morning and go very carb-heavy with a nice hot mug of brewed tea or coffee. As I walked up, I was immediately awed by the snow covered outdoor patio. It was beautifully covered in a light layer of snow (obviously unused due to the weather) with little birds all fluffed up and perched atop some of the chairs. They sure looked like little caretakers of the area and were a very cute sight! Walking through the door immediately transported me out of the elements into a very warm and comfortable zone filled with the scent of freshly baked bread and pastries and fresh coffee grounds. Both happy and awake banter as well as sleepy groans enveloped the room. You could hear the staff buzzing around moving pastries and firing up fresh brews for those in line. It's pretty awake in here compared to everything else outside. Stepping up to look at the baked options on the front counter, I was greeted by one of the friendliest voices I've heard in a while. She was so cheerful that I couldn't help but wonder if it's the coffee or tea they serve here or the potent pastries lining the display shelves. Well, whatever it is, I definitely want what she had! I settled for a dirty chai and a couple of pastries and sat on one of the high tops beside my little feathery friends staring in from outside. Each sip divine. Each bite absolutely lovely. Even chatted with an older gentleman with the coolest indigenous soft cloth coat beside me. Everyone was friendly. Everyone was kind. They sure are not the usual sleepy and grumpy breakfast spot. I'll definitely be back when here in Providence again!

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.
