If you added mimosas on the weekend menu that would make it perfect.... Downside is that they don't have tables on the inside. Which is always a tragedy. But we tend to grab a bagel and then go to Prospect Park and sit and eat outside. i appreciate the new york bagel being on thayer street and yesterday when i was in need of a very solid, protein-filled breakfast after my morning work-out, i was craving bagel gourmet. i got a whole wheat everything with egg, swiss, and steak (listed as beef on the menu). i really appreciate steak as an option because that's what i get in nyc too. they have a lot of cheese options and schmear options and make a lot of different bagels. i went around 9am and you could tell the bagel was fresh. price is also new york though which means i can't make this a regular thing. my bagel was $10.55 after tax before tip. very swift and helpful service. and smells delicious. love the cute menu design though it does take a little longer to read everything, but has that local bakery feel to it. read more

Having gone to school on College Hill, stopping by Thayer Street is always a nice treat. I stopped by Bagel Gourmet on a busy weekend (when many pre college students were arriving to Brown and RISD), but the workers at Bagel Gourmet were kind and courteous as always. I got two bagels (~$15) for me and my sister. They were toasted and very yummy. My sister said that the cream cheese on her bagel was a little too salty but it paired well with the drink she got at Starbucks. A colorful veggie, a sharp jalapeño, a PERFECT plain, and many, many, MANY more! There's about 11 cream cheese options, so multiplying that by the 13 bagel options means there's more than 120 different possible bagel/cream cheese combinations! And if you're not a bagel and cream cheese person? Great news! There's plenty of options for breakfast sandwiches, burritos, tacos and more! The best part - every single thing on their menu is absolutely delicious! I promise there is something for everyone (and everything is fairly priced)! One last piece of this review that I absolutely cannot forget - the staff! The people who work at BGO are some of the friendliest people I've ever met! A small and can be hard to find restaurant on Thayer Street but worth it. I like bagels and morning to my office sometimes aren't complete without stopping here. If I'm very hungry in the mornings I suggest trying one of their breakfast sandwiches, they're delicious, made fresh in front of you and not very expensive. Coffee is pretty good and wait times aren't very long. Parking can be a hassle considering it's on Thayer Street, but I live not very far away so I usually walk it. read more

A breakfast burrito here might run you up about $6-8, depending on whether you get a small or a large burrito and whether you add some meat in. As much as I love bacon, I forego meat on these b/c the beans, cheese, and vegetables are already v flavorful and filling. Some places will serve you a sort of egg scramble bundled in a tortilla. Other places will serve you a sort of rice-potato-meat stir fry bundled in a tortilla. Blasphemy. This place will serve you a burrito with immaculate concentric layers you see as soon as you bite in-- egg, then bean, then cheese, then meat, then tomato, cilantro, onion and green bell pepper in the center, encased by one of the most perfect tortillas Providence has to offer. The devastating part is that sometimes they run out of many bagel types, so I have to settle for something like sesame or plain. For months after arriving in Providence, I bounced back and forth between Baja's and Chipotle trying to find a burrito that would measure up to the beloved Anna's Taqueria. The place is small, so it's more of a takeout place then anything else, and it's not fast, because they make everything up to order, but maybe that's why they taste so good.
