As an employee at a local business in Great Neck, we are always looking to find vendors close to our offices that meet our needs. I recently used Bagel Mentch for a breakfast meeting and I couldn't be happier with the service, selection and communication with their catering team there. They even accommodated a gluten free guest, which isn't easy in the bagel world. I heard great reviews from the team members in the meeting and they were very impressed with the platters that were served. Thanks to Dave and the team for their assistance on this. This is definitely my favorite breakfast spot in Great Neck. You get a variety of choices including but not limited to assorted bagels, omelettes, pancakes, french toast, tuna fish, etc...Tastes great at a reasonable price. Two stars not for the quality (yummy bagels *****) but for the service.. called to place a preorder two days ahead, was told in a hasty gruff manner to email, NO ORDERS by phone, so I do so. I call to confirm receipt of the email and review the order, was told yeah got it! I had a feeling that they just go thru the motions so I reconfirm Wednesday and GUESS WHAT, my order was LOST and not delivered. Then I call up to reorder by phone for Thursday, with a meeting, they took the order and then again, did not fill it completely...Sadly, as great as the bagels are, and as many patrons they have, it must not matter to provide good service to all. This was my first time ordering for delivery and it will be my last, I was a loyal walk in customer for 2 years at Mentch after 25 years with Best Bagels, but will have to return to the company that gets my order right. The delivery person was a nice man, at least he did not treat my order as an inconvenience, thank you sir for your nice service with a smile! read more

Bagel Mentch is by far the best bagel store in GN. My personal favorite is the sunflower seed bagel with extra cream cheese. The lines move quickly, the bagels are fresh, and to top it all off they have free WI-FI! read more

I usually get my bagel from bagel boss I was in the area and decided to go to bagel mentch asked for bagel cream cheese the gel had super tiny cream cheese layer when I ask the staff he has the ball to tell me that this is how much cream cheese our client asked for.......cheap super nasty owner comes and says the same thing to me read more

Went ONCE and never again. Although almost next door to where I live and extremely convenient, NO WAY. If you don't wear a Chai or a Jewish symbol, you are ignored and/or treated poorly. Don't care if the food is good, the attitude is AWFUL. Get over yourselves. And they are overpriced! read more

Tried it not too bad. Would give them a second visit since it was Passover that week. The lox wasn't too bad.

I go there a few times with my friends during the week but even if they know us they are always rude and slow and make a mistake with our order .And the owner couldn't care less even after we complained a few times .Somehow I always get the same thing and each time I get charged differently too. The food is good if it wasn't for the rude and slow employee . We defiantly stopped going since the lady that works there started yelling at our kids . She is always angry and rude and again after all the complaining she is still working there . Defiantly lost mine and my friends business we used to order for parties too but I see from other reviews also that it has been a disaster for them too . read more

The food is good and the fact that it is kosher is what takes me there but they have 2 women working there who are the most obnoxious people i have ever met in my life. the service is horrible and the food is very pricy [even if judging by the kosher standard]. The first time i went there i have asked for tuna melt, after waiting for 30 minutes for my food they told me that they have burnt it [you could see a small cloud of smoke form the oven] then they offered it to me [yes, the burnt sandwich] when i refused to take it they made me another sandwich. overall it took them 40 minutes to provide me with my order, ridicules and unprofessional conduct. the second time i went there, my husband ordered for my daughter a bagel w/ cream cheese, i went there and asked if they could convert the bagel to a lox sandwich and i would pay for the difference. they put a very thin [single] layer of lox and charged me double the price of what it really cost. when i approached them and asked why there is price discrepancy between what i paid and what it really costs the employees ganged on me [ with an exception of one] while the manager stood silently. I had given them 2 chances. i will never go there again nor will i ever recommend to anyone to there. By the way every one in town complain about the service and the attitude of the employees there, especially of the older spanish lady. read more

A big plus because its kosher and I don't have to worry about getting something off the grill. Even though the food is good, I have stopped going there for one reason and one reason only, the numerous times I have experienced the mean, miserable few people behind the counter taking the orders. With the exception of one great guy that has been there for a long time, there are 1-2 females that work there (especially one that has been there a long time) that gives the worst service of any person I have met. 1/2 the time she messes up my order, blames me that I gave her the wrong order, never smiles, and I see her always rude to other people trying to order something. IF THE OWNER IS READING THIS, please fire her! I think you know whom I am talking about, I wish she wasn't there and I will be glad to come back if she wasn't. I am sure a lot of pp will agree w/ me. I never write bad reviews, especially for a kosher place, but this one I think the owner/management needs to know. Get rid of her, she is losing you business!!! read more
