Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, they consistently keep messing up my orders and don't know how to listen. I had to wait on numerous occasions for over 30 mins for a small order my orders and very basic and the fact that I have to wait that long is ridiculous. Sandwich spot just off route 9 north in an outside strip mall in Old Bridge. Offering all your basic bagels and sandwich fare. OK at $8 for a basic turkey sandwich, lil high. They make everything fresh on the spot with plenty of room to sit down. There's a nice little variety and it looks as though they exclusively use Boars Head hence the higher prices. For me know I like to keep my lunch as cheap as possible several days a week and maybe splurge on a Friday that usually includes a beer unfortunately they don't offer beer lol Nice friendly service. After posting a negative review about my awful experience at this bagel shop. I received a forced apology with snide remarks from the cashier, and also a request from the owner to remove the review. In exchange they would "promise to do right" if I'd give them a second chance. Unfortunately, that wasn't my first negative experience at this place. I had a similar incident with waiting way too long for breakfast sandwiches when they had first opened shop. At the time I let long wait times go, and chalked it up to new business inexperience. However the second time was unacceptable especially after the cashier was so rude to me. I will not be going back to this place, I don't want free bagels or free coffee, i just want my order done right and quickly too. Why pay money to a place that doesn't appreciate my business and wastes my time? I'm a real person and I don't post fake reviews, I found the owners comment insulting too. The bagels here are decent. Baked fresh on premise. The whole wheat ones started tasting better since these guys opened. They were under-salting them in the beginning. Glad they got the recipe sorted out. That said, with the frequency of getting orders wrong, taking too long to make a bagel, and the general pace of things here - these guys wouldn't last a day in the city. I'm all about local business and giving high school and college students work, but at least train them. If someone orders a toasted bagel, put it in the toaster right away. Learn to expedite. Treat it as a kitchen. Respect the process. Also - the whole credit card minimum - annoying as hell. That's contributing even more to the delay and is inconvenient for the customers. I know credit card merchant fees have gone up, but that's the cost of doing business. Get with it. As nice as it is to have this place close by, they really need to improve their game if they want the local business. This experience just happened and I feel it's worth sharing. First let me say I have been a customer of bagel talk ever since it was opened. In fact I knew the old owner personally before the two new owners bought the store. Here's my story, I just got back from Bagel Talk where I picked up some bagels. The person that helped me I know is one of the owners, he tells me my total, $6.90 so I gave him $12, he gives me back 10c so I said you owe me $5. He gave a strange look, opened the register and said with an attitude you gave me $7, I said I didn't have any $5 bills on me. He closed the register and said he's going to check the camera. I was tempted to leave but decided to wait because I wanted to see his reaction. After 10 minutes he came back and said " you gave me $10", opened the register and handed me a $5 bill that I put back on the counter and said you can keep it, obviously the store needs me more than I do. He didn't like that and got angry and loud, I told him to lower his voice and walked away telling him he's a bad business man. It is sad that when someone makes a mistake and their ego stands in the way of a simple apology. read more

Over the years I have put up with rude employees, slow service and a few times my orders have been messed up because the food has always been good. The last few times the food has not been as good. Today was the worst. The roll wasn't fresh, the eggs were fine but the bacon was hard to chew. I opened up the sandwich to take a look at the bacon and I'm sure this was rotten, discolored and gross. They sell (the brand) Sweet Note bagels which come 4 to a pack. The bagels ARE quite good. However, the price charged by Bagel Talk is 25% OVER the suggested retail price. As an Old Bridge resident, we're always looking to support our local businesses and this place recently opened up. So I stopped by yesterday (Father's Day) to check them out. They were packed! Glad to see that..The decor is pretty with an Italian flair. The smell was good; inside was very clean. Bagels and deli flavors in the air. I had a coupon for 2 free bagels, so I got a plain bagel for my son and an everything bagel for my wife (you know how wives want everything). The bagels were huge--crispy on the outside and chewy inside. My son loved the bagel and he can be picky sometimes. My egg and bacon on a roll sandwich was very good. What made it good was the roll--it was soft and very fresh. My wife needs a cup of java in the AM. She liked their french roast coffee. They advertise that their bagels are made the old-fashioned way, hand rolled, boiled then baked. If you want a place to stop with friends or family, get a cup of coffee, eat breakfast and sit for a bit, then this is worth the trip. read more
