This place is 8 minutes from our house And the bagels are wonderful. We tried their veggie cream cheese today with carrot, scallion and radish. It was delicious! Bagels are decent, although one of the female employees (I think business owner) was not never nice to myself or my boyfriend. We ordered an Asiago cheese bagel and asked for it to be toasted, I had my boyfriend go in and asked and the employee said she already explained it to me that they can't toast it? The bagels are very good. Slightly pricey, but to be expected. My issue is always their service. On weekends they are too busy to properly take an order and confirm before rushing you along. There is a definitive difference between running an efficient business and making the customer uncomfortable. After living in NYC for some many years, I never thought I'd ever find a bagel spot outside of the city that could ever compare. Bagel Train has one of the best bagels I've ever had in my life, if not better. The bacon, egg and cheese on the everything bagel is hands down the best breakfast bagel sandwich I've ever had. Every single bite was pure heaven and flavorful, clearly using only the best ingredients and high quality bacon. It's a small little spot that only accepts cash (or check), but their bagels speak for themselves and it comes as no surprise that there seems to be a steady flow of people coming in and out during the morning hours, both times I stopped in to pick up some bagels. I'm really blown away at how delicious my everything bagels were. It's a million times better than the best bagel you've ever had in the area. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. The best bagels in Lower Bucks County are located just around the corner from the Yardley (SEPTA R3) train station. This store's offerings are much more squishy/doughy than most other bagels. If you want a harder, drier bagel, this is not the place for you. But i find these bagels have the best mouthfeel and gluten-y goodness among the many others I have tasted. The egg and blueberry bagels are perfect. Their breakfast sandwiches are a hit in my family and the mini bagels in the basket at the front counter are popular among kids. I especially like the weird mix among the customers: the soccer moms and dads standing behind the retirees standing behind the 20-something slackers who have been partying all night standing behind the 11 year old who was sent to the shop with a $5 bill. The only downsides: Expect long lines out the door and no parking at 8-9am on a Saturday during the soccer and baseball seasons. And the small tubs of cream cheese are overpriced. read more

While visiting family, I was thrilled to find this local bagel spot with the type of dense, chewy bagels I enjoy. Growing up in the NY/NJ area, we had a variety of good and bad bagels. These rank up there with some of my favorite NJ spots (Hot Bagels in Fair Lawn, KCs in Pompton Plains). I am very picky about my bagels and these are well worth the trek into Yardley. I've been coming to Bagel Train ever since I can remember. It is easily the best bagel shop in the area (much better than RJ's). I always get a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on an egg bagel. It never disappoints. They fry the egg fresh for every order (no microwave like many bagel chains) and their bagels are the closest to a NY bagel you can get outside of NY. Some people knock their old fashioned cash only style, but I think it adds to the uniqueness of this place. I live in Yardley and this is sadly, the only place for a bagel outside of New York. (eh, maybe I got spoiled living there for so long) They do a decent job. Service.....the guys on the counter are by far, the most amazing part of the experience here. One is from Jordan, the other from Costa Rica. They both know your order before you reach the counter and boom....all you do is pay and walk out. Huge thumbs up to them. Now......the big BUT! The woman/owner (?) is the nastiest and most vile person I have ever encountered in a service environment. She is smug, happy to know that this is the ONLY place you can even get a bagel in Bucks County. She should be so lucky. Also, there is never a smile or any recognition that you are putting money into her pocket, or even who you are (despite the fact that you go every day). Guess that is why the guys are there. The bagels are good. But beware.....especially if her daughter is there, putting her fingers through her hair while criticising your order, and watching you like you are an imbecile. Heaven forbid, you make her mother cut cheese, or WORK, even. Also Mondays. Apparently they are closed........(and hair not tied back in a food establishment is a huge no...so gross) Just be warned. I'm super excited to have found this place. I am originally from NY and we have a ton of bagel shops all over, which was something I really missed after moving out here. It's pretty rare to find and usually the bagels are just disappointing - not this place. The bagels here are fresh, soft, fluffy and they have a decent selection of flavors. These are what bagels are Supposed to taste and feel like. Having had real bagels since I was young and having to suffer through many other places that serve so called bagels it is a luxury to find one who still makes the real thing. There is a very impressive variety to cater for real eaters as well as chocolate chip ones for the others. Only criticism is of course that you have to be in Yardley to get them as delivery to other places including where we are in New Zealand just won't work. This place and its owner blew my mind!! I grew up in Yardley, and I'm seriously ashamed that this establishment is in my hometown. I have never written a bad review but I'm just still blown away and appalled at how I was treated... and by the owner?! I get there at 11am on a Sunday and they're out of most bagels and 3 out of 4 coffee dispensers were empty. It took over 30 minutes, when I should have been in and out... I asked if they could please possibly make more coffee, you would've thought I asked them to re-shingle my roof! One guy says he'll make it, after giving me a hard time about it, but then 15 minutes later when I asked the owner if the coffee was ready, she snipped at me, and spoke to me like I was an imbecile?! Apparently no one even made the coffee that whole time. I understand they were busy but she was completely unapologetic, totally unprofessional, and just downright RUDE! Perhaps she was just having an off day, but I will never go back there again. There are plenty of other (and better) bagel places in Yardley!
