I ordered a turkey and roast beef bagel ($6.94) with American cheese ($0.84 for one slice). It took over 45 minutes minutes for us to order and get our food and this is what I got. You could not even see the meats from outside the sandwich. It looked like one half of a slice of turkey and maybe 1.5 slices of roast beef. At least they were consistent and kept service lousy as well. Sorry we bothered you by placing an order. At least you got to roll your eyes at another customer. read more

Staff questioned my legitimate service dog, asked for documentation (which is not allowed under the ADA), and told me to use the drive-through instead. My dog was calm and under control. I went there for bagels today. I've gone there last week and they told me to call in the order or I would have to wait. So I decided to wait and they put me aside and took other people first even though a customer stood up for me and said to the manager that this is not correct. Today I went for another dozen bagels and asked him to cut them as a girl was cutting them. The manager said to me "didn't I tell you before the call in for the bagels to be cut?" I responded "yes but I didn't have the time. I'll wait for them. " She responded "but I told you last time to call lynne. And you didn't call lynne. We went back-and-forth about four times with her getting increasingly more belligerent. I finally said to her "I don't appreciate being lectured in front of your customers like I am a child" She responded "but you act like a child. The manager asked me if I paid with cash or credit card and I told her a credit card. She asked for the credit card refunded me my money and told me to leave. I get it, it's called Bagel world for a reason. The bagels are great. Drive thru line can get pretty long in the morning. Go inside, it's a lot faster but people are just scattered by the register to order, it's not a one person at a time place. Customer service? Totally not there, just order and get out of their way. On to the next! Should be their motto. I'm not asking for the best coffee, but at least have decent cup of joe at a bagel shop. Even if its gas station or convenient store quality. Bagel world has one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I don't understand all the negative reviews. Sure maybe the service is perhaps a bit slow, but every time I walk into a Bagel world it is packed and I see the people behind the counter hustling. The great prices and quality food keep me coming back about once a week. I never get tired of it. I typically get the smoked turkey and cream cheese sandwich on an everything bagel and I add bacon. It went right to voicemail at first (and it's full so you can't leave a message). Called again, someone picked up. I explained what I wanted, and then she said "ok one moment." She then put the phone down, walked away and didn't come back to it. I waited for at least 10 minutes like that, tried to call again and only received a voicemail again. Lost our long-standing business after refusing a refund for a sandwich I will not eat b/c it didn't come w/ ALL of the requested items. Top it off, everyone's sandwiches were smashed into the bag and not identifiable (so someone had to go through and open everyone's to see whose was whose - I DO NOT like people touching my food other than the handlers). I'm torn between a not so good experience with their service and a really tasty breakfast bagel. We ordered half a dozen and a handful of coffees, which probably increased room for error. That place was beyond packed. Long lines, people yelling their order over each other. It was pure chaos. For some reason it was relatively organized in some systematic fashion. So the food was delicious. Perfectly toasted smothered cream cheese with sprouts tomato and cucumbers. They are heavy on the cream cheese. The Hawaiian chocolate nut coffee was so nutty! Loved the Orchard OJ too. I would definitely grab more bagels here in the future, but next time avoid the craziness by ordering for pick up and double checking that order. For some, service isn't a deal breaker. In this case, it was worth the visit for few good bagels. read more

Hey, Bagel World is not fancy but what bagel place is?? Certainly none I've ever been to. And yes, if you go inside vs the drive through you leave smelling a little like, well, a bagel shop. But unlike the other reviews complaining of bad service, I found the people to be friendly, which is no small feat when everyone is wearing masks. Okay people maybe the service sucks, but these bagels are great, easily one of the best bagel places on the north shore. Can never go wrong with the chicken salad and they have a really good variety of fresh cold cuts. Deli sliced pickles are a must. They also have an amazing olive pimento cream cheese. I never leave reviews but I had to take out my phone and write this because I just have so much to say about my experience here. I personally work in the service industry so I understand how difficult and annoying people trying to eat can be but this was ridiculous. Multiple members of the staff rolled their eyes at me for 0 reason after I already had to wait an appalling amount of time to get my order taken. I got a garden salad (I know crazy choice for 10 am but I was hung over so don't judge) and they charged me 3 dollars for an extra dressing packet - keep in mind it was legit the standard dressing packet seen everywhere and it probably costs about 2 cents for them to order. They then forgot to give me utensils which is completely fine but when I went up and asked for utensils I've never experienced a glare that vile for such a simple request. The worker with the blue clip looked like she was going to throw a bagel or perhaps a plastic knife at me. Food wise, it was nothing special - the only thing I can truly say was good was the hot sauce. I'm probably forgetting details but regardless I'm never coming back to this establishment, the workers need to figure it out. read more

Usually when I order a bagel with cream cheese, there's enough cream cheese on half but the other half has virtually none. When I ask for a little extra cream cheese, they say they can't. Ok, so then I say just put the cream cheese on half and leave the other half plain and, to this, multiple young women come to the window and they all say they can't understand the request. I reexplain several times: put cream cheese on half and leave the other half plain. They all act exasperated like what I'm asking is so difficult and, again, they say they "can't." this location is extremely hit or miss, usually miss if you want anything other than regular toasted w regular cream cheese. They write your order on the outside of the bag & then the person making the food fulfills whatever is written on the bag. I ordered 2 everything bagels double toasted with extra cream cheese. This is the bagel I got. Barely even toasted & I wouldn't consider this enough cream cheese for even a regular bagel. & they charge extra $ for extra cream cheese so I paid more..for light cream cheese. Other times I've ordered the same thing & the bagel is like quadruple toasted to a crisp & has a half cup of cream cheese on it. There's really no consistency other than it being consistently wrong. I have been coming to bagel since I was a little kid with my father. It was like a weekend tradition for the two of us. This is a family own establishment that started in Danvers. They have some of the best bagels and sandwiches around. They also have fast and great service. Thank you for awesome service over the 27 years we have been coming here. Highly recommend. The family also had a death almost a year ago which may have affected there service and quality but wouldn't that affect anyone of use for a period of time? It would. So if you came here not knowing that and had a bad experience please allow them a chance to regain themselves as the great Bagel World in the north sure region. So for you loss, my heart goes out to the family. And thanks again for the memories and great service I have experienced with my father. read more
