So I went back to this location after 10 years. It's not the same as it used to be. This used to be a well established, well run place. Now it seems like there is no ownership involved, they leave kids there to run the show and watch them from the five cameras that I noticed While the kids working behind the counter were nice, the product was terrible, the sandwiches had stale bread, and the pastrami was cooked in an oven. The cheese was baked into it so bad you could hardly even taste it Not "heaping piles" as the menu suggest. Very disappointed that I spent over $40 for two sandwiches two bags of chip soda and a side of coleslaw. The coleslaw was actually old and soggy. Complete waste of money. 1 won't go back. I was biking around the area and decided to stop in for a sandwich. You could tell this was a legit local spot, with plenty of people in line. It was a pretty small place, so I'd recommend taking your sandwich to go for sure (eat by the water if you can). As a New Yorker at heart, I appreciated the decor, though. I went with the Urban Cowboy because it sounded pretty sounded unique. Can't say I've had potato salad on a sandwich before, definitely a twist to your everyday roast beef! I went with the BBQ sauce, which ended up being weirdly sweet. I almost wondered if they accidentally gave me jelly instead by accident. Otherwise, the sandwich was pretty solid! Perfect for the sandwich people in the crow- cranberry walnut chicken salad for one and 2nd Avenue Reuben (lightly toasted bread, corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Russian dressing for the other). I wanted a Greek salad or any salad for that matter. - and they were all out of salads! That was a problem for me. It's an incredible busy day for them because there weren't many places open. This is a classic NY Deli style place tucked into a New England sea town. We have eaten there several times and always find everything is made perfectly. They are doing it right: all the bread choices, including the marbled rye, the meats, the condiments, including spicy brown mustard, a really good tunafish salad, inventive club sandwiches good soup and of course great pickles! Manhattan Sandwich is the type of place that opens for business with the tables still dirty from the day before. The type of place that only has two tables and piles delivery orders on one, while customers stand awkwardly with their food hoping to sit but no employees notice. While making sandwiches they like to skype with people and yell nonsense while standing over the food trays. This sandwich company delivers on large portions and balanced combinations. The menu items are well thought, however my go-to is very basic: turkey club. Most sandwiches here are double decker with three slices of bread total. Most sandwiches come in small or large, which is about a third larger. Make sure to get a green half sour pickle on the side. Also, try their brand of of soda, the cream soda is my favorite. I love to come to this restaurant for lunch because it is always an easy experience and a very clean and friendly environment. read more

Thick, delicious, hearty and HEAVY sandwiches!! I got the Country Club with Turkey. The 2 girls behind the counter were as cool as can be with the chaos of all the customers ordering complex and very specific sandwiches. These girls were spectacular and handled it all with ease!! Great place. Fresh, tasty sandwiches. Current home of the $9.95 lobster roll & chips special. Can't say the roll's the best I've had, but it's more than enough for the price. The one sandwich I've had, a turkey and swiss on pumpernickel, was packed with meat and condiments, and made for a filling lunch, best consumed on a boat in Beverly Harbor. Great sandwiches! I have become a full on Rachel (Reuben with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut) addict, and this is easily one of my favorite places to get them. Staff is friendly, and they are *not* skimpy with stuffing their sandwiches - my guy and I sometimes split one and it's more than enough. They also get bonus points for serving really tasty pickles with their sandwiches. There are a few tables to sit at, but the restaurant is small and cramped with not much atmosphere to speak of. I recommend placing your order to go, and eating your delicious sandwich either in the comfort of your own home, or having a little picnic at one of Marblehead's many scenic spots. read more

My favorite is the Mickey's #7 on Marble Rye - Basically it is a turkey Rachael. I would recommend going with the small sandwich since the whole is pretty large. Manhattan Sandwich Company really has it all. Most folks enjoy their club sandwiches, packed with fresh deli meats and an NYC spin on them. I recently tried their Italian sub to see what it was all about, and I absolutely loved it. The sub roll was fresh and soft, the cold cuts were delicious and rich, and the sub wasn't soggy at all nor did it fall apart -- which is extremely rare among Italian Subs on the North Shore.
