I've been coming here for years. Each and every Time I visit it's always the same. The staff is always courteous; the ambiance is always welcoming and the music always puts me in the right place while I wait for the deliciousness that comes out the oven. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Overall experience was spectacular. Great environment, quick service and great music playing in the background. The Good: - Bagels - Very good, firm yet soft. I'm a sucker for bagel & lox and I just had to try it when I came around this spot in the neighborhood. I called and placed an order for pickup. I walked in less than 10 minutes later and BOOM! My order was already waiting for me at the counter! Easy in and out! I was pleased with the bagel. Far from the worst lox bagel I've had in this area recently. Their signature lox hits the spot, and is priced about right at $11. The assembly wasn't perfect though, or well centered, which led to it being a bit of a messy eating experience. Like, REALLY messy. That said, their southwest lox sandwich also sounds worth a try, as do some of their sweet bagels- I'm glad they have sweet bagels and cream cheese, as a few other spots in the neighborhood are notably missing them. Found a long dark hair baked into one of the several bagels I purchased today. Aside from this glaring hygiene issue, the communication is also poor. I ordered 8 bagels, and the guy said he owed me one free - not sure why and he was too busy to ask. Instead of charging me for the 8 I ordered, he charged me for 9. I'm not sure if this is some kind of bizarrely covert way to upsell, but it definitely put me off. The line in there on a Saturday morning was insane and he was quickly off to the next customer, so it would've been way too much of a hassle to try and get my money back for the bagel I didn't order. To add insult to injury, only half of the bagels I got seemed fresh - the others were hard and went uneaten by my brunch guests. I ordered an egg white omelet with some vegetables on the saturday morning I visited Bagel World. It did take quite a while for the food to be made, but when it finally did come - I enjoyed it. My boyfriend also enjoyed his sandwich. The customer service was good, the prices are reasonable, they could be a little bit more attentive to the floor since the table we sat down to eat at was kind of dirty - but overall we had a good experience. I have experienced consistent service and food quality throughout my experience coming to Bagel World. It is a quaint shop that feels very relaxing and homey. I live in the Bronx and the commute to get here is well worth it. There is a very large selection of bagels, cold cuts, cream cheeses, pastries and drinks. All day long, bagels are boiled and baked. The bagels are made then sold daily. You can find leftover bagels from the night before in a bucket in front of the refrigerated display. They are on sale for $2. I always love a place that saves food and doesn't waste! Ingredients in sandwiches are always fresh in texture, flavor, and appearance. Plus, when you order a sandwich you can get a free bag of potato chips or an apple. I love it! The men behind the counters are always very accommodating. They help you order if you don't know exactly what you want and they always repeat my order to make sure they heard correctly. They are attentive and simply enjoy doing their job. They give out good vibes and it makes having breakfast, lunch or dinner enjoyable. My favorite bagel is the French Toast bagel. It is fluffy, moist, and perfect with BUTTER and CINNAMON. Yum! I love having this bagel with my light and sweet coffee. Even when I bought these home, the next day they still tasted delicious. There is a large selection of drinks you can try out. I'm a Brooklyn boy at heart even though I work in Manhattan and live in New Jersey. Park Slope is the area I spent many of my formative years so I've always been a fan of the food in the neighborhood. However, as the years (and gentrification) have passed, I wondered if old haunts such as Bagel World still had that more "mom and pop" style feel with good food that I remembered from my youth. Recently on a trip visiting my buddy Albert W. in Brooklyn, I stopped by Bagel World to pick up something for my girlfriend and I to munch on. As I waited on a (very) long line, I got to look at their deli counter and see an amazing array of cured meats and salads. Big plus? They carry Boar's Head brand meats, which I consider some of the best out there (including Boar's Head Canadian Bacon!). Then as we moved down I began to see their vast array of cream cheeses. My god, it was insane. Bacon/scallion, Pistachio, Chocolate Chip, Vegetable, Walnut/Raisin...it looked more like flavors of ice cream than cream cheese! When we got down the line more, I saw something I had never imagined or seen before: French Toast Bagels. YES, you read that right. And they were still WARM. I ordered that with the chocolate chip cream cheese for my girlfriend and got a cinnamon raisin bagel with pistachio cream cheese. So, if there were some vision of Bagel Heaven, these two bagels would embody that vision. The French Toast bagel tastes exactly as advertised. Big, soft on the inside, a bit harder on the outside with a wonderful chew...the chocolate cream cheese was absolutely insane. The cinnamon raisin bagel was good by itself, but with the super savory pistachio cream cheese it was a perfect combination of savory and sweet! The service was great. These guys had to deal with a lot of orders in rapid succession and they handled it like pros. Nothing felt "fake" or "forced" here, the guys were naturally friendly and efficient, an awesome deli combination. Bagel World rocks, and I can't wait to try more of their delicious bagel and cream cheese flavors! read more

Holy simoleons these guys are amazing. Massive selection of food. Bagels rock obviously but the paninis, salads, smoothies, etc are all great. Love the flavored cream cheese. Coffee is legit. But most important is the service. They are happy, friendly, will crack a joke and smile. They are crazy accommodating of tweaks to the order despite a huge line. When we asked for an omelette without cheese they ran out to make sure the price dropped. When we asked for no home fries, they put a salad in without us asking. I made the brisk walk over to Bagel World on a rainy Sunday and am happy to report the trip was well worth it! I'm on a mission to sample all of the popular bagel spots around my home (which is unfortunately many, so I have to be a little conservative about carb consumption!) and this place is definitely one of the top contenders. I sampled the cookies & creme cream cheese (just OK, a bit bland), and the cinnamon walnut raisin (amazing, but very sweet and decadent!), and had to resist the urge to sample EVERY flavour they had (which are all unique and amazing sounding!). I settled on a french toast bagel with a side of cinnamon walnut raisin cream cheese (brilliance), and also grabbed a jalapeno bagel for later. Sadly the jalapeno bagel fell a little flat (needs way more peppers and maybe a little salt or something?) but the french toast bagel was warm and delicious right out of the oven. Thankfully this place is juuuuuuust far enough so I won't be tempted to go every morning, but it's definitely a treat destination.
