My husband went back and got my money back. Walked over to Bagel World and got more meat in bread that soaked up the flavor quite nicely. They even threw in a free banana not knowing what we went through minutes before at the other restaurant. This is not the first time Bagel World saved us. They provided catering last minute for my daughter's birthday brunch party when a caterer cancelled on us two days before the event. I have been going to bagel world for a long time but never felt the need to write a review. It is a solid, consistent, and reliable bagel joint in park slope. Bagels are fresh and tasty. Menu is extensive. The chicken, egg, and tuna salad is always fresh and on point. It is a no frills grab and go spot. But it's clean enough. The real highlight is the staff is quick and efficient and always super friendly and helpful. So rare for these kinds of places. The guy who runs it really cares and it shows. We were really pleased how they had the order ready for pickup, included napkins, milk, half-and-half, spreading knives/spoons, cups, and sugar (regular and artificial). They also included some extra stuff that was a nice surprise! The bagels are huge and filling. Add some refreshing cool cream cheese, with some hot coffee on the side, it's some high-quality stuff. I think we can all agree that people have a variety of preferences and priorities when it comes to a great bagel. For me, the chewy texture (not puffy and airy) is the most important aspect of the bagel and Bagel World nails it. I also prefer a soft shelled bagel- not too crusty and hard- and theirs were also on point in this respect. I ordered 8 bagels to take to a friend I'm visiting in chicago and I ordered an egg bagel for breakfast. I also noticed that they have tofu cream cheese which I'm always on the lookout for. this is the first bagel i had my first trip to nyc back in 2005 (an acquaintance hooked me up with a room in park slope), and it remains my favorite bagel spot in nyc.. actually, my favorite bagel in the lower 48 and canada (i haven't a clue what people see in montreal bagels).. reconfirmed (whenever possible) on my last visit in may 2023.. so.. good.. my go to, since i was a teenager, is cinnamon raisin bagel with walnut raisin cream cheese (or w/e variant but walnut raisin is my fav).. theirs is cc is not too sweet and full of delicious chunky bits.. top notch.. glad to know their are some fantastic mom n pop's still surviving in the world.. read more

They have rainbow bagels which I know is kitschy but I don't care. There's very little I adore more than a Brooklyn bagel shop and this place screams Brooklyn. Space can get claustrophobic with only 3 tables crammed in. The line can get long and snakes around so you'll have people standing over you if your lucky enough to score a table. Service is fast and no nonsense. When I'm in the neighborhood, you'll see me there eating a toasted onion bagel with egg, cheese, and tomato. read more

I love this bagel place besides for the fluffy bagels the spreads are delish. Today I had veggie Tofu cream cheese on a toast onion bagel perfect match. The warmth of the bagel with the Tofu was yummy for my tummy. I also had ice berry lemonade beverage made fresh made oh my Lord it was amazing. Already a favorite of mine in the area for their large and strong coffee, I am sure I will also find some hit sandwiches on the extensive menu. Quality: With hundreds of menu items lining the walls, it would take a lifetime to try everything Bagel World has to offer, but I can speak to a few basics. It appears they are new to the Iced Coffee game, but it is solid. First they don't mess around with a large at 24oz. Second they don't mess around with strength, this is a strong coffee. Good quality, quantity, and value, can't ask for much more. On my most recent trip I also ordered an Everything Bagel With Scallion Cream Cheese. It was a solid bagel, not a game-changer, but easy to enjoy. And they did not skimp on the cream cheese, though it may have been a little heavy on scallion. Quantity: Along with being one of the cheapest, it is also one of biggest Iced Coffees in the area at 24oz. Bagel is a standard size. Value: $4 for a Large Iced Coffee. $4.25 for a Bagel And Flavored Cream Cheese. Ambiance: Bagel World has a small shop in Park Slope, right off 5th Avenue. They have a small window outside, making it easy for folks with dogs to get coffee or food without going inside. But they are also open inside, with a spacious area in front of a massive counter. The first thing you notice upon entering is the overwhelming amount of information on the walls. They have so many sandwiches, bagels, and drinks, it is best to come in with a plan already. It is also bustling behind the counter where several employees are always hard at work coordinating multiple orders. The one issue is it is awkward after you order as the waiting area almost puts you back on the line. Crowd: My visit was on Thursday morning around 8:30, and there is a small rush of workers and school kids. They were quick, but there is the risk of someone ordering breakfast for an entire work crew. Service: The menu is massive, and it seems like almost anything under the sun can be found, so it may take a few repetitions to get the order right with the staff. I also feel like even though my order is frequently the same the price is always a little different, but usually lower than I expect. It was my roommate and I's first Brooklyn bagel experience, and we devoured them. We were pleasantly surprised that they arrived with a banana and apple! I have been on the quest for the best bagel shop in Brooklyn, and I can't say I'm done searching but this place is definitely a contender! I ordered the everything with scallion and bacon cream cheese. The bagel was SUPER soft and loaded with yummy everything seasoning. The spread was also VERY flavorful. I was a little hesitant to try a spread loaded with cold bacon but the combination was soooooooo good! However, in the future I will be sure NOT to match that spread with an everything bagel. The bagel was extremely salty, even for me who LOVES salt. My sister ordered the French toast bagel with pumpkin spread. I was not a huge fan but I just don't enjoy sweets in the morning. We ordered Bagel World one morning when we were hungover and needed carbs to bring us back to life. I admit I ordered the rainbow bagel because I was not in the right state of mind. The cream cheese was also rainbow and was basically frosting. It was way to sweet. The bagel itself was not toasted so I was eating colored bread with zero flavor with globs of super sugary spread. I was sick for the rest of the day. I also got an iced coffee that was just ok. It tasted like the milk was a bit sour which made me feel even more horrible. I took a few sips and had to dump it. My friend got a sesame bagel toasted with cream cheese. His was barely toasted and was room temperature. I'll stick to Terrace on PPW. I am disappointed. read more
