Baguette Café is a solid spot for a casual French breakfast or lunch. I'm glad that they chose Henderson for their second location. This location has a nice area for dining in with a good amount of tables. They also have a large outdoor area making it likely that you'll be able to get a table. The service here is friendly and welcoming. When I've dined in the employees have continued to check in after the food was served. Every food item I've had here has been excellent. Their Quiche Lorraine has the best flavor with a thick, buttery crust. The portion is large and comes with a simple green salad. The Croissant Ham & Swiss was delicious and filling. My favorite thing here is the Tuna Sandwich. It is so good! Their tuna salad mix is delicious and then they layer it with boiled egg and crispy lettuce on a crunchy baguette. Make sure to save room for a pastry because they are excellent here. The Fruit Tarts, Pain au Chocolate, and Chocolate Twist are my favorites. Baguette Café doesn't carry a giant pastry selection, but what they have won't disappoint. Coffee is the only thing here that I don't love. I've tried a Cappuccino, Vanilla Latté, and the Café Mocha with almond and caramel. Their coffee tastes watery and bitter. Unfortunately, none of these drinks cover that up. I have had Green Tea here that was good. It's freshly steeped from loose leaf with a timer, not just a tea bag. It is served hot in a nice little pot. I'm a fan of Baguette Cafe's West Sunset location, so I was super excited to see this new addition to the Henderson area. Nestled in the corner of the busy Smiths shopping center, on the corner of Horizon Ridge Pkwy and Eastern, it sits between Robertos taco shop and Munch Box. I love that this location has indoor and a large outdoor seating area. There were plenty of seats and a good mix of sun and shade. When I walked in I was greeted by owner, Oliver. Super friendly and he was telling me that this new location serves alcohol as the original location does not. Perfect for a nice brunch. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Croissant $12 and it was heavenly. Croissant is pure buttery flaky perfection. It was filled with smoked salmon, dill cream cheese, red onion, mixed greens and surprisingly red apple. I've never had apple with my salmon, but it worked perfectly. It gave a slight hint of sweetness and crunch and paired so well. The sandwich came with a small side salad and house dressing To top off my lunch I got a chocolate croissant twist. Sweet, flaky and really hit the spot. I have been driving by this location waiting for it to open and the time has finally come. I have driven to their first location on the west side on many occasions when I was craving a fruit tart. It was worth it, but now that they are closer this could be dangerous. I grabbed my friend who also appreciates the yumminess of the cafe and we had an early Saturday breakfast.
