I have been to Baguettes a few times and I always had the Sandwiches. The last 2 times I tried their hamburgers. I tried the Tiffany burger, and the Banh mi burger. Both burgers are excellent; lots of flavor and the meat patties are the best. What makes them so good is the patties are made with a combination of beef chuck, brisket and short rib. I love hamburgers, and I think they make the best burger in Elk Grove. Change it up and try their hamburgers! read more

My aunt, cousins and I had lunch at Baguettes today. I ordered grilled ham & cheese: black forest ham, mascarpone cheese, apricot preserves, jalapenos on a grilled, buttered ciabatta. The sandwich exploded with flavor! It was a bit messy with the apricot preserves and totally worth it. The side was tortilla chips, both corn and flour, and salsa or a couple selections of salad. The others ordered shrimp salad sandwiches or curried chicken, both on baguette rolls. There is was some sort of "slaw" on the shrimp sandwiches. The slaw (not sure if it was onion and/or cabbage) was overloaded with vinegar, a bit overpowering and also there was too much liquid and the salad was very messy. They probably would have enjoyed it better without the added condiment. The lemonade was great, not overly sweet. The wait staff, especially April who greeted us and took our orders were very friendly and quick to bring our food. I will go back again and, probably, will order the grilled ham & cheese again. Went here on Friday, April 3rd with my boyfriend. We ordered the three little piggies and the cali club. Both sandwiches were good but the cali club was AMAZING!! While we were eating, the owner checked up on us and was really sweet. I love how they are a family owned business. Everyone was nice and extremely helpful. I can't wait to come back. I tried the new location the week of Thanksgiving 2014. I ordered the "thanksgiving special" & had to return it to the counter for a re-do. The snotty brat who is the owners' daughter was quite miffed, but the adult in the room saved the day by actually attempting to please the customer. The 2nd attempt on the sandwich was stellar, as were the chips & salsa. My dining companion was thoroughly disappointed with their Cubano & won't return there, ever. They really need to get the customers' drink orders for them & not expect people to know the beverages are hidden around the corner by the grill & not anywhere near where you order. I wish they had table service & more actual tables, rather than so much of the "pub seating". The new location is nice & the furniture is beautiful. This place is a great sandwich place for Elk Grove! We ate there today great service and ambiance, great food for my family.. and the only reason for the 4 stars is what I ordered wasn't what I was hoping for. My hubby had the turkey avo bacon arugula sandwich and it was quite tasty. (I had a few bites) The chips and salsa soo yummy! (Chips were homemade and salsa was just right on flavor) My son had the three little piggies sandwich and wow it was tasty too! My daughter had the kids half sandwich (roast beef) which was half of a half --normal portions of sandwiches are HUGE!-- her side came with orange slices and banana slices, a total hit. For mine I ordered the Brie and Apple sandwich.. Which I am expecting something like from the bonne soup cafe.. Crunchy baguette and nice slices of Brie with thin slices of apple.. So, the ingredients sounded great, I even love arugula.. But it was smothered in mayonnaise so the Brie and apples were overpowered by the mayo. I don't think I'd order it again since there are other great sandwiches here..but if I did I would definitely order without the mayo.. I was going to tell someone just as an fyi.. Maybe next time I'll mention it since I will be back.. I'm sure they could do that right.. Their ingredients are right on the money. read more

Vegan dining is tough and this place is perfect. I love their menu and the staff is not only accommodating, but they offer suggestions for substitutions to make your dining experience perfect. I like asian food, but it gets boring after awhile and Baguettes is a welcome trade off. It has become my go to vegan place to eat. I am thrilled there's a place close to home that I can pop into while running errands or just don't feel like cooking. I convinced my sisters to try this place because they wanted to try something different from. I used to go to the one on elk grove blvd and i absolutley loved the service, the setting was cute and country themed, the food was so delicious, but since that one closed we went to this location. I'm sad to say, my sisters did not feel the same way and i'm disappointed this location did not live up to my raving recommendations to them. The front of the shop looked nice but the dining area was not very inviting with small round patio tables and chairs in a small room that looked a little like what used to be a dance room, with a huge mirror that covered one side of the walls. The food was ok but nothing like the old location, and since there were a about 7 of us, after waiting over 40mins for everyone to get their food, 1 to 2 people at a time, some of our dishes grew cold as we waited for the others to get theirs. We also ordered coffee while we waited and we got 3 big coffee presses and it was lukewarm. So, lets just say that was the last recommendation my sisters will consider from me for our future meetups :( read more

Went to baby shower 8/1/15 food cattered from Baggettes in Elk Grove. Some of the best deli sandwhiches ever. Great fresh baggettes, lean meats, cheeses, vege sandwhiches also fresh and tasty. Amazing sandwiches and burger. Had the Ryan sandwich which was full of flavor. The bourbon burger literally just feel apart in my mouth. Definitely a comfort type of food since it was pretty heavy but very tasty! I left out one star because the service was actually quite slow. We came at about 3:30PM so the lunch wave had definitely passed, and it wasn't busy at all. It took about 25 mins to make our 2 sandwich/burger. Didn't see any large orders ahead of me either. I went to the older location and enjoy there new location decorated beautifully with country charm of Elk Grove... once was..However.. the last 3-4 times me and my husband have ate there, we have noticed a decline in food quality/quantity. Our sandwiches were kinda thrown together and took 30 minutes to make. We both enjoy good quality food freshly made but the price = quality ratio just isn't there. $28 for two sandwiches is a little pricey (without buying drinks). If u want to eat with a group of friend together make sure you don't eat at banquettes because you'll never get your meal on time. I've been here few times since a coworker recommended it to me a couple months ago. Now this is what you call a gourmet sandwich. Decent portion for the price it's asking for since it's a tad on the pricey side. You can easily spend almost $12 without a drink. First time there, the service was ok. I had the Ryan sandwich with a side of garlic fries, and some type of broccoli cheddar soup (soup of the day) and a lemonade (not so refreshing) but i fell in love. I just recently tried the Chicken & Bacon sandwich with a side of chips and salsa and it was so delicious! The atmosphere is really chill, got some interesting decor to look at. The second time I went in with my husband, the girl at the counter didn't smile or greet us until I greeted her. Almost gave me the feeling they don't care for your business because they know their food is good. I've also noticed 3 people on the side of the bar chilling as one lady was yelling at the girl to do something. She stopped in the middle of making our sandwich to do something. So there's a bit of a wait for your food, but I would definitely come back to try other sandwiches but probably not as often since the price can put a dent in your wallet if you have it a few times a week just for lunch. read more

Sandwich was made well on a fresh baguette. The baguette was a bit under done but the sandwich was good. The potato salad was dry and I did not find it very good. I absolutely love this place! Every menu item is so unique and different! When I first read the menu and saw what ingredients were included in some sandwiches I was hesitant to try... Bot boy was I glad I did. I go there EVERY SINGLE time I visit my hometown and I always try to get something new. I am never disappointed! My favorite sandwhich is the ham and cheese which includes: ham, cheese, apricot preserve, and jalapeños. Sounds crazy right?? By far the tastiest ham and cheese sandwhich I've ever had! All of the soups are great as well! This is a MUST TRY sandwhich shop. I know they make all of their own bread and they sell it by loaves as well! I wanted to try something different for lunch other than my usual go to Starbucks, Mimi's, or Nugget deli. I couldn't think of anything so I decided on a quick Subway sandwich when I drove past this place. I thought, why not give this small business a try? It was a little awkward when I walked in because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to stand at the counter and order or have a seat and wait for someone to come take my order. There were only 2 other patrons but no one greeted me. I grabbed a menu and sat at a table. Finally I got up and stood at the register and someone finally acknowledged my presence. A nice lady came and took my order. I ordered the chicken and bacon sandwich w/ homemade chips and salsa to go. I was advised they were out of wheat bread and given other options. After a few minutes, my order was brought out to me. When I got home, I was a little annoyed at the chips. They just look weird and I never eat salsa when I'm eating a sandwich. Also the fact that the sandwich is grilled/warm....I don't normally eat warm sandwiches and didn't realize that all sandwiches come grilled. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my sandwich was made with nice juicy chicken breast instead of the deli meat that I was expecting. It also had nice thick slices of tasty bacon! I tried some of the chips and salsa with it and it was surprisingly really good together. I'd suggest that they poke holes in the styrofoam to go container so the chips won't get soggy, and make sure to try to greet customers when they arrive. I'll definitely be back. read more

I love this place! The food and creativity on the menu is as good as it gets. Great selection. I am usually the kind of person that orders something without half the stuff that comes on it, but here I take the chance and the tastes meld together and create a unique taste. Love the egg salad with the salmon lox on it... and the ham and cheese with apricot preserves.... the salsa is smoked with flour tortilla chips... always a few soups or chili to choose from... the meatloaf burger is out of this world tasty. They have a great selection of beers on tap and a wide range of wines from great local wineries. They always have something to pair with whatever I order. This is not Subway, so expect to pay for a good sandwich. It is completely worth it. Great outdoor patio when the weather is nice. read more
