Oh the weather outside is frightful But Bahama Breeze is so delightful There are probably better ways to start a review of Bahama Breeze, but in all seriousness, if you want to escape the cold winter weather in the Seattle area, Bahama Breeze will make you feel like you're on an island. Perhaps the Bahamas?? Anyways, it was my last night in the Pacific Northwest, and I wanted to experience a taste of the Atlantic Southeast. Even though California's weather more resembles the Bahamas than that of Washington state, there are no locations in California, but there's only one location in all of Washington state: this one at Westfield Southcenter, just steps away from where the 5 meets the 405 on the south side of Lake Washington! As a matter of fact, there are only two locations west of the Mississippi; the other is in Las Vegas. I bookmarked this restaurant while researching restaurants to visit during the holidays, and I had just enough time to pay a visit. When I arrived at about 7 PM on a Thursday evening, there wasn't anyone at the front. A party of two came in right before I did, but it took a minute before Ryann showed up at the front desk. After servicing the party of two, I asked her for a takeout menu, and she handed me one. I took a seat in the waiting area to peruse their menu. Bahama Breeze is big on beverages, but I wasn't feeling a cold beverage on this cold winter day. Had I come during the summer, I would have certainly tried a pina colada or even a bahamarita, but alas, that will have to wait another day. Instead, I had my eyes set on a couple of pasta dishes: Jerk Chicken Pasta and Jerk Shrimp Pasta. I wanted to try the best of both worlds, and I was glad they offered lighter portions of both, so I was sold on getting both. I also wanted to try something from the seafood menu. I almost thought about the Lobster and Shrimp Linguine, but that would have meant I'd order all three of the pasta dishes. While that would have been a nice accomplishment, I thought that would have been way too much pasta for me, so I wanted to get a different seafood dish. They had two salmon dishes: Grilled Salmon and Tequila Sunburn Glazed Salmon. However, I had plenty of salmon throughout this trip, but I hadn't tried paella in years! They offer a Seafood Paella, which consists of sautéed scallops, shrimp, fish, mussels, chicken, and chorizo sausage with yellow rice. Sounded like a plethora of seafood in a paella, so I went with that. As soon as I decided on my order, I went back up to Ryann and told her I was ready to order. However, she told me I had to go further inside to place my takeout order. Krystafer was the one who took me there and took my order. I recited my order to him, and when I told him I wanted the lighter portions of both Jerk Pastas, at first, I thought he said they had ran out of ingredients to make one of the pastas, but I suppose he pushed the wrong button on the ordering tablet because he later confirmed they had enough to make both for me. After paying, Krystafer said it'd be about 15-20 minutes before my order would be ready. Conveniently enough, there was a seat right by the takeout counter, and I had a nice view of the interior of the restaurant. They had a pretty sizable bar, which isn't surprising since, like I said, Bahama Breeze is big on drinks. It would have been cool to dine in, especially by a pretty nice fire pit that would make for a wonderful meal with family and/or good friends. It was only about 10 minutes before I saw Krystafer bag up a takeout order. I thought it was for a different customer since he did tell me 15 to 20, so I was surprised when he approached me with that bag. I returned to my hotel to enjoy my last dinner on this trip. Even though I had ordered the lighter portions of the Jerk Pastas, all three dishes came in the same sized takeout box! It made me think I actually got the regular size of both Jerk Pastas instead, but on the other hand, those takeout boxes didn't have as much compared to the paella. I'm really not sure, but I can say that I was able to finish both of the pastas in one sitting. How did the pastas taste? Overall not bad. Both pastas were bowties, which isn't one of my favorite types of pastas, and not only that, I don't think the pasta was cooked consistently. Some bowties were soft, but others were al dente. That was a little annoying, but both pastas had a good amount of creamy flavor, which my taste buds enjoyed. The paella was pretty flavorful too, except for some of the seafood, which was kind of bland or dried out. I was especially surprised that the rice was an explosion of flavor waiting to happen! I liked the paella, but there was some room for improvement here as well. I could only eat a little for dinner that night; I saved the rest for lunch the next day. Ryann and Krystafer provided good service overall. Not outstanding by any means, but good enough to earn a thumbs up from this citizen of California. Recommended! :) read more

Bahama Breeze is still one of my fav chain to stop by every once a while when visiting South Center area. They do have good options on their menu. I like to try different entree each time I visit. Updating my review. Most recent visits were excellent. The ribs are really good. My friend said that the Jerk Chicken Pineapple Bowl was very good. They serve it in a carved out pineapple. The bananas foster dessert has been removed from the menu, bummer. My only complaint is that the metal chairs out on the patio are uncomfortable and add to the cold in the winter time. read more

After going to the Woodland Park zoo, we decided to go to Bahama Breeze for a late lunch. The service was outstanding. The ambience was very nice with lively Island music playing on the speakers. This place has become a go-to for us whenever we're in town because aunty absolutely loves it, so it's always on our list. On this visit, everything was great! The service was friendly and efficient, which made the experience even better. The only small downside? The dessert was a little too heavy on the alcohol for my taste (I know, I know... who complains about too much alcohol? ). Still tasty though! Her came out and had to be sent back it was cold. I ordered a side salad which was wilted. And the fire cracker shrimp that was over cooked and not even warm to touch. I didn't bother sending them back. Just so over it I didn't address it with the waitress. Another guest ordered the jerk chicken that had to be sent back because they were hard and dried out. I love this place for its over the top alcoholic drinks that have no alcohol flavor, and its tropical ambiance. For the food its always reliable, knowing this is a chain you always know what to expect out of the dishes. Our server, AJ was wonderful and gave us a great customer experience which left us all happy with our meals, appetizers, and beverages. I've been to the Southcenter mall a bunch of times, but I've never noticed or heard of this place until now. Isolated on the outskirts of the mall parking lot, this place is doing its own thing making you feel like you're legit in the Bahamas. We came for dinner and sat at the bar like we usually do and the two bartenders acted like they didn't have to be nice to their customers. My husband asked for a specific way he likes his old fashion and the first was ok but the second was so bad. He also ordered the steak and asked it for med and it was well done the coconut prawns were ok but when the can to place it on the table one of the prawns fell on the floor since it really wasn't on the late to begin with.
