I really wanted to enjoy D Dukes Seafood, and I have to say the service from Paris was excellent--friendly, attentive, and definitely a bright spot in the visit. That said, the food fell short of expectations, especially given the prices. The entrées were on the smaller side, the chowder portion was minimal for the cost, and the fish and chips, unfortunately, lacked flavor and the fish was overcooked. We also tried the calamari, which didn't have much seasoning, and the special deviled eggs, which came out rubbery with a filling that needed more flavor, even with the lobster on top. The atmosphere and service were good, but the food and value just didn't line up. With some adjustments to preparation and portion sizes, this place could be much better.

I have been to the Duke's at Southcenter and Ruston but never have been to the one at Kent, so decided to give it a try as I read from other reviews that they allow dogs and we were in the area. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to spend time with our fur babies while grabbing lunch. I entered inside to see if they allow outdoor seating and not only was I greeted warmly but told that they do allow outdoor seating even despite it being in late November. We were guided by the hostess to our seats with menus and then given plates, utensils and water by our waiter, Alex. He even brought our dogs a huge water bowl to share, which I thought was considerate. I received my birthday offer so I got the Oh My Cod! Fish and Chips to split with my boyfriend as well as bowl of chowder to also share. When our food arrived, our food was already plated separately which I thought was very thoughtful. Service at Duke's is always spectacular no matter which location you go to, so please visit one you haven't already or if it has been some time because the food, service and atmosphere is always a good time. Our food was made to perfection, my boyfriend and I were raving about how the fish and breading were perfect. I love the texture and taste of the coleslaw. The clam chowder was very salty, which I wasn't a huge fan of and might have to try a different soup which is unfortunate as I adore Duke's clam chowder but this is a different location but it had the same amount of salt as my previous visit at Ruston so maybe it's a change in recipe? When we were getting ready to pay and pack up our food, Alex gave us a complimentary bread to take home as well as butter for us. Thank you Alex for being an absolute fantastic waiter and we hope to be back in a future visit.

Food: Cod fish tacos were cooked perfectly. Love the cucumber salsa, the avocado and the slaw that went on it. It was some of my favorite tacos. And I eat a lot of fish tacos everywhere I go. The Dungeness crab salad was super refreshing. It had this sesame dressing that really compliments the salad. Bonus that they have outdoor dining so we can sit out with our dog. Service was prompt and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

First time at the Kent location. I went on a week day. Happy hour started at 9pm until close. My server was excellent. She gave great recommendations for drinks and food. We were there past closing time and they were so kind when they had to kick us out, hahaha. It wasn't a busy night so that was cool. I prefer the other locations on the water but this one I think I will try to frequent more because it seems like a pretty low key spot.

In town from Houston. Read the reviews and decided to give this place a try. From the moment we were seated our server Edward was very friendly and helpful. Very attentive to our needs. My friend had the Blueberry Lemon drop and I had the Oh Mai Tai cocktails. Both were awesome. For dinner we had Halibut dinners. Both plates were delish. Well worth the splurge. Restaurant atmosphere was excellent. Everyone should visit if you're looking for fresh seafood and friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

I've been to the location on South Lake Union prior and I recall that my impression was, meh. Awesome view of course. I'll tell you what, though, THIS is the spot to visit. Incredible service, amazing presentation and taste. We were treated like VIPs from start to finish. Tucked into Kent Station and very convenient to movies and other eateries and shopping. Parking is really not terrible if you give it a chance (knock on wood). Lovely staff here and the food is so good. Their chowder is award winning - we all know that chowder can run a spectrum; this one is both creamy AND peppery (often they are one or the other). For the entrees we got the fish and chips (you can pick what kind of fish, which is great; and also how many pieces you want) and the taco (it's a single giant taco with feta and avocado). Be sure you eat the taco as prepared. Don't try to pick it apart. You've got to taste all the flavors in combination. Highly Recommend.

Dukes is tried and true! I love their food and Carlia provides the best service around. I thoroughly enjoy sitting on their umbrella covered patio sipping cucumber mojitos. Dukes has hands down the best calamari in the state and their salads are always on point. All-in-all you can't go wrong with any menu item. Cheers!!

    Scallop ravioli

Went to Duke's after church on recent Sunday and were very impressed. From the hostess to the server to the manager who came by to make sure we were happy, everyone was very accommodating. But the food! I ordered the shrimp appetizer with a dinghy of Lobster Mobster Pernod chowder while my wife chose the scallop ravioli. When the orders came out -- fairly quickly, I'd add -- I was blown away by my wife's selection. When I saw "scallop ravioli," I thought it would have scallops in the filling, not a full scallop on each and every one! Had I known, I'd have ordered that, too. Fortunately, my wife was generous enough to share. It was a little noisy on this particular Sunday afternoon, as it appears we weren't the only ones stopping by after church, though we MAY have been the only ones without kids. Nonetheless, and enjoyable lunch that we'll definitely repeat.

I've been wanting to come here for a while and I'm happy. I finally had a chance. I'm looking forward to coming back and try one of their burgers with chicken Katsu and also pork Katsu in the near future, but I had to go with the original beef patty on the first visit. Service was great. I was greeted quickly and provided with some suggestions after I mentioned it was my first visit here. Their menu is unique so that type of help is appreciated. I made mine a meal and got it with fries and you can choose from four different types of seasoning for your fries or get them plain. I got mine with the furikake seasoning which was nice and added that umami flavor profile perfectly. You also get to choose dipping sauce and I went with more Katsu sauce, but they have five or six others that looked good. I chose a lychee oolong tea in a bottle from the cooler as my meal drink, but you could also get a fountain drink or upgrade to a milkshake if you prefer All in all, this is a really really cool creative twist on classic burger spot. They also serve some bento boxes and Katsu style hotdog at this Kent location here. The bathroom was really clean as was the lobby and the open kitchen. All in all, I'll give them a 10 out of 10 and I will be back

Karla came over right away and helped us with the kindest attitude. When we asked how to add sauces, she said, "They're free, just let me know which ones you want," and brought us two of each to try. It's so refreshing to visit a place that doesn't nickel and dime you. After placing our order, I realized I forgot to get a patty for our dog. Karla came by to check on us, and when I told her, she said she would make sure it came out with our food. It actually came out a few minutes before, which was perfect so our dog could eat first. That level of care really stood out. As for the food, everything was delicious. The loaded fries were savory and rich with a perfectly cooked egg on top. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and the truffle fries with greens were a nice balance. The orange juice was honestly one of the best I've had. It was fresh, tangy, and had just the right amount of sweetness. The space itself is bright, open, and welcoming. There are games at every table, and it's both dog friendly and family friendly. We'll definitely be back. Karla, thank you for going above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

This classic, no-frills spot carries a nostalgic charm, with a casual, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel like a staple of the community. It's the kind of place where the focus isn't on trends or presentation, but on delivering satisfying, flavorful food that keeps people coming back. The Hamburger perfectly captures that philosophy. It's simple--nothing overly dressed up or complicated--but that's exactly what makes it shine. The patty is cooked well, with a satisfying sear that brings out the natural flavor of the beef, while the bun and toppings complement rather than overwhelm. Every bite feels balanced, familiar, and genuinely delicious, like a reminder of how good a straightforward burger can be when it's done right. The California Burger steps things up with a more layered flavor profile. The meat is cooked just right--juicy, tender, and full of flavor--and paired with fresh toppings that add both texture and brightness. There's a satisfying richness to it, but it never feels too heavy. Each component works together seamlessly, creating a burger that feels indulgent without losing that classic drive-in appeal. Another standout is the Onion Burger, which might be the most memorable of the bunch. The patty is cooked to a juicy perfection, locking in flavor with every bite. What truly elevates it, though, are the caramelized onions. They're soft, slightly sweet, and deeply savory, blending into the burger in a way that feels effortless. The combination of the rich beef and the perfectly cooked onions creates a harmony that's hard to beat. Not everything hits the same high note, however. The Calamari Rings were a bit of a letdown. There was a slightly off-putting seafood smell that took away from the experience, and the breading felt excessive--so much so that it would fall off easily. On top of that, they leaned a bit too greasy, making them heavier than expected and lacking the crisp, clean bite that good calamari should have. Despite that one misstep, The Family Drive-In excels where it matters most. It delivers consistently great burgers that highlight quality, simplicity, and flavor. For anyone craving a classic drive-in experience with satisfying, well-executed burgers, this spot is an easy recommendation and well worth the visit.

I've been in a few times and am impressed by the quality of the food. My hats off to the chef! Here's the breakdown of the meal: The Food Chicken Fried Steak: This wasn't one of those cheap frozen patties that's all breading. It was nice and thick with just the right amount of crunch. Sausage Gravy: The gravy can make or break this dish, and they nailed it. It was thick, savory, and had tons of flavor. Stuffed Hash Browns: I upgraded my regular hash browns to the stuffed version with bacon, and it was the best decision of the day. They were perfectly fried and crispy--exactly how hash browns should be. Over Easy Eggs: It's surprisingly hard to find a place that doesn't overcook these lately, but mine came out exactly as ordered. Pancakes: I swapped my toast for pancakes, and they were fluffy and light. They serve them with soft whipped butter and syrup, which makes a huge difference. The Service The real star of the morning was Debbie. She's essentially a one-woman show--running the bar, waiting tables, and serving everyone. She is absolutely awesome and keeps the place moving smoothly. It's rare to see that kind of hustle these days. The Verdict Don't let the "bar" label or the exterior scare you off. So for what feels like a decade, I have passed this place coming out of the local AMC, as there is no other attraction in Kent I would stop for. Based on reviews, I decided to give the place a try, but again, I think this place has been here since at least 2015 and with under 40 reviews, it's clear they are not changing lives. In reading reviews. More than one person said the prices were high for a truck, but I did not expect burgers approaching $20. The burgers were grossly overpriced. Someone said they had twice the meet of most places, I doubt that, I'd be shocked if it was more than ¼ patty, the burgers were big, but also incredibly thin. I would have much rather had a burger twice as thick on half as much bun. I actually ended up tossing the lower bun and folding the burger back on itself. That was issue 1. Issue 2 was after a decent wait for free food, my fries were under-cooked, and I didn't get any fry sauce. There were bottles on the tables, but it was 50 degrees, so we weren't eating outside. I assumed there was a small cup in he container, but only ketchup. I had the guacamole burger and instead of thick, chunky, rich guacamole, I guess a tangy avocado sauce. It also had a strip, maybe two of bacon that was so thin, it added no flavor. I've had much better for a lot less and despite the women being as pleasant that can be, this was not worth the money and proved to be a massive waste of time as well, because we certainly passed at least 6 places that make a better burger for less. I can't recommend and won't be back. The food could have been 30% less and I still would have been let down. Unless this was a bad day, this was the worth burger meal I've had in my life. 100% overrated.
