I love bahama breeze! I've come here plenty of times and the food has always been amazing! My favorite is the skirt steak churrasco! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the drinks are weak. We got the blood orange margarita once at the location in Paramus NJ and it was awesome, but every time after that they've been weak and tasted virgin. I usually stick to wine or beer if I go here since the mixed drinks don't have that kick I'm looking for! My one star is because I had to pick to move forward. Thursday night, not overly crowded. Host is not personable, felt like we annoyed him by wanting to come and eat. Sat about 10 min with 0 contact and then a waiter passed by and said, let me drop off these meals and I will be right back. He came back, passed us by, no word. As the next 10 minutes went by we saw 3 wait staff bring out food . One waiter stayed at a table diagonal from us and never thought to say have you been helped. We grabbed our stuff and left! My family and I went here after a day at he beach. We were seated in the outdoor area (at our request) as the weather was gorgeous. Unfortunately we waited for 15-18 minutes without being seen by a waitress. Once I'd notified the staff, I was seen by a manager and immediately provided a waitress. The manager was very apologetic and even offered each of my family members a free dessert. We were told that the error occurred because when and where we were seated, no one informed a waiter that guests were seated in their serving area. Overall, I definitely appreciate the apology and the accommodation. Truthfully, the service (minus the mishap) was good and the food was OK! A previous visit, years ago was horrible. We had a rude waiter who basically told us how to order and tip in order to make his day go smoother. I'd spoke with the manager at that time about the experience (whom I believe was the waiters friend) and he was extremely nonchalant. TOTAL TURN OFF: when staff in management appears to be just as rude and as careless as the staff they're supposed to govern. read more

After a long day shopping with the kids, I decided to give this place a try. The location is pretty convenient too. We were greeted with a smile by Julia the hostess, then promptly seated. We were delighted with the quality of our food and the prices as well. Truly very much bang for your buck. Our server was absolutely amazing. Val was extremely accommodating and sweet. The kids loved her halloween themed make up too!!! As the restaurant wasn't extremely busy, she spent a little more time with us, I had mentioned I was a professional jazz guitarist and she was telling us about her undergrad studies as a voice major. I liked the island's atmosphere, each meal is pretty big and can make you full without the need of ordering side dishes. The food itself is delicious too. I ordered grilled chicken with cilantro cream that comes with mashed potatoes, I literally liked it all. The only thing that I did not like was the number of people waiting to be seated, every time we go to this restaurant there is at least 10 groups waiting ahead of us, but fortunately this time although we were told that the waiting time will be approximately 30 mins, we waited only 5 mins!! read more

I went to Bahama Breeze for the first time last night and am looking forward to many more trips there! The atmosphere is fun and surprisingly beautiful for a chain restaurant. It was dark inside yet the tables are still well lit. I prefer indoor seating so we passed on the outdoor but the outdoor seating was spacious and fun, with several tiki torches lit around the deck. We started simply with chips and salsa as an appetizer and it was delicious! Both the salsa and chips were incredibly fresh. As an entree I ordered the grilled chicken with cilantro crema and it was so good! Just thinking about it right now makes my mouth water. My friend ordered a burger which she reported as delicious. The portions were large but not intimidatingly so and the price was right. Every staff member that I encountered was friendly and helpful. Since it was our first time visiting, our waitress took us through the menu which is thoughtful. I plan on coming here many more times in the future! I definitely recommend this place. read more

I like this place better then Cheeseburger in Paradise just down the road, much better.... Drinks are very good and the food just has a better taste then the other. It is a chain restaurant so don't expect much. Nice open interior and in the summer, open air room with live music sometimes...always cool. This is a good place to go for lunch, dinner sometimes a little rough, but still good. I always found the staff friendly and helpful. As far as chain restaurants go, this is in the top rung in my opinion. The decor is fun, but not cheesy, the drinks are themed, but tasty and strong. The servers are cordial and efficient, without being corny, and most importantly the food is tasty and fresh. The portions are large (with an option to go with a lighter portion!), and the prices are reasonable. No, it's not a cozy intimate date spot. No, it's not James Bears award-winning cuisine, but it does a damned good job of being exactly what it tries to be. He answered all our questions even gave some drink recommendations. The food was great! We started with appetizers; chicken empanadas and the firecracker shrimp. Among the three of us we ordered Tilapia & Shrimp Oscar, Fish Tacos and Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast. They have live music on the weekends but u can only hear it if you sit in their patio area. Came here Friday night for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. The habanero wings were delicious! I had the grilled salmon with lemon butter sauce and it was cooked to perfection. Their mashed potatoes were also delicious and you can see the skins in them which makes me think they are made fresh and not from a box. I hate to write this review because I have come here in the past and had a very good experience. Unfortunately yesterdays visit was terrible. My wife and I waited at lease 1/2 hour for our order to be served. My wife"s chicken dish, was not hot and the quantity of chicken was really small. Not the way it was the last time we were here. My Chicken jerky pasta was not that hot and seemed like it was sitting waiting to be picked up for quite awhile. I ordered Seafood chowder to go and again we waited about 30 minutes and gave up. Had the waitress to cancel the chowder. I would hope the manager would get with the program before they end up with no customers. read more

I usually try to avoid chain restaurants like the plague. There are maybe 3 or 4 that I'll go to regularly, and Bahama Breeze is one of them. I've never had a bad meal or bad service and the food is just plain enjoyable! There's something for everyone, including picky family members that I sometimes go with. There's healthy items all the way down to deep fried goodness. I normally order the chicken kabab with rice and it always comes out perfectly. The veggies are charred just right and there's just enough food. For $6.99, how can you beat that? Cobb salad and Breeze Salad are also tasty and fresh each time. So yeah, it's not authentic Caribbean...like someone said, it's just how Olive Garden is to Italian food but, it still tastes good. read more

I've been to this Bahama Breeze location many times without incident, but my most recent experience was unfortunately marred by extremely unprofessional behavior. My boyfriend & I were seated at a booth for a quick lunch (I had 90 minutes before I had to pick up someone at the airport), and we were looking forward to the light & delicious lunch that we've had before at Bahama Breeze. Our waitress looked a little haggard, frantic darting looks everywhere, rushing, but she gave us our menus & water, took our drink orders, & said she would give us a minute for our entrees. She then spent the next 15-20 minutes dashing about the restaurant, past our table, looking underneath (!), interrupting other waiters to ask them something. We managed to stop her once, as we were lifting our feet a second time so she could look under our table, and asked if everything was ok, because we were just sitting & waiting on her. She told us that she was SO UPSET because she's new, she couldn't find her money envelope, and that she was fairly certain another employee stole it. Um ... I feel your pain, but that's a lot of information to be telling us, and we're just hungry, so ... After about 35 minutes without our sodas - and we still haven't put in our order! - my boyfriend went to the hostess and asked if we might have another waiter to place our order. The hostess apologized, and within a few minutes another waiter took over our table. Our drinks and food arrived close to an hour after we arrived. My boyfriend was furious, and I just tried to calm him down (and hide my own anger). We wolfed down our food, paid the check, and left incredibly disappointed. Our original waitress ran back to our table while we were eating, with relief on her face, to explain that she found her money, but it was found in a room she didn't remember going into, and she suspected another employee was trying to steal her tips & ruin her blossoming career. She kept repeating that servers sabotage other servers regularly, and she was very suspicious of her new coworkers. Again, it's unfortunate, but that's not something you should be saying to your customers - let alone complete strangers. The experience left us with a very bad impression, and while I won't say that I'll never go back, I will definitely hesitate to dine at that Bahama Breeze again. read more

I'm from Iowa, and to the lucky few who live near a Bahama Breeze, I don't care what you say about them, they are awesome! Though Iowa has it's share of upscale dining and chains, Bahama Breeze is nowhere to be seen, and the closest one is over 350 miles away in Schaumburg, Illinois, a Western suburb of Chicago. Me and my fiance took the bus ride from NYC to Willowbrook to eat at BB, since we love eating at the one in Schaumburg, and we weren't disappointed. Our hostess and our waitress, Megan S., were awesome and were very friendly. The server wasn't, as she just served us the food and whisked away, not asking if we had everything we needed...but I got over that. I had the shellfish chowder and the jerk chicken pasta, and the bf had Chicken with Cilantro Creme Sauce and Mashed Potatoes, and he had key lime pie for dessert...which all were very delicious! I even asked our server for some chopped pineapple, because on a whim, I felt that some pineapple might spruce up my dish a bit, and she was nice enough to get some for me, and it tasted awesome with it! The decor wasn't as nice as the Schaumburg location, but I loved how the restrooms had mouthwash, kleenex and hand lotion! Another plus is that I was able to charge my mobile phone, given by chance we were seated next to a power outlet :-). Also, having free Wi-Fi within the restaurant is a plus! Now I know there are people out there who despise chains, and would rather spend double their money to eat at a local restaurant rather than to support corporate America, but just ignore them, because Bahama Breeze is an awesome restaurant. And though they have no plans to open any additional restaurants in the Midwest at this time, I will still go out of my way to eat there. And, with eating here, you have a four anchor mall to walk around to walk it off! Eating at Bahama Breeze...shopping at Lord & Taylor and Macy's, grabbing some Starbucks after....my idea of a Saturday night away from home! Place was near empty. we asked for a booth; seemed to create confusion among all 6 servers who were there huddled near the hostess stand. we were eventually shown to a booth -- meant for TWO people. not sure why we didn't speak up right then, but we 3 crammed in and perused the menu. Two apps, one entree salad, one reg. entree, and one person had another app for his meal. That was the food we ordered. Coconut shrimp tacos too sweet; salmon salad not very interesting; chicken quesadillas looked skimpy on plate. All was okay; nothing to rave about. They are very big on their tropical drink selection; and their drink menu is innovative and descriptive. But do not be taken in. the drinks are sugary sweet and you could honestly not tell one from another. All are overpriced. So at the end of the night -- 3 apps, one salad entree, one entree, and three of their signature drinks (nobody felt "buzzed," so the alcohol content is suspect) -- $100 before tip. Nope, not going back. But our waitress was great and we tipped generously. read more

The concept of this restaurant seemed interesting so I was happy to visit today along with two co-workers. First visit for all of us. Very comfortable seating, decor does not stand out, service was OK. So I was first to order and went with the fish tacos which came with a seafood chowder as a lunch special. From a Yelp perspective, I was disappointed that we all ended up ordering the same thing. No chance to compare the other offerings. But the fish tacos were OK and came with a very nice spicey aoili on the side. Chowder was good, also had some heat. I will go back for more of the menu. Lunch prices are cheap, not much more than you would spend at McDonalds. Dinner prices for entrees are under $20 which is also cheap by NJ standards these days. Service was fast, an easy place to go to for lunch and make it back to the office before the boss notices that you are running late. This place just has a cool atmosphere and pretty darn good food. Having been to the Bahamas 8 times, I can honestly say it does give you a sense of being there. There is island music being played in the background and the place is dressed with bamboo and palm tree decor. The paintings on the walls if you look at them really closely are pretty wild lol I have had a ton of their food but my favorite is the Mahi Mahi special with the almond crusted topping and the garlic mashed potatoes. SOOOO GOOOD! Their drinks are pretty weak however. I would not recommend any of their fruity "island cocktails" they are all juice and no rum or any alcohol for that matter! Stick with beer, wine or martini's and no special islandy ones! Bermuda Red is their signature beer and is a pretty good beer to boot! Their sugar cane fresh squeezed lemonade is to die for! It seriously can serve 2 people and will fill you up real quick. DO NOT drink this on an empty stomach! It is very sweet and can turn you ill within seconds on an empty stomach. The bohemian clam chowder is pretty good, I could do without the fired shrimp on the top however. Their cinnamon sweet potatoes are to die for!! Salad's are OK at this place. Average cost per person for entree, appetizer and drink is $25-$30. Great tip, if you dine her and wind up really liking this place, get on their email list. It has a good chill out atmosphere. 2) The price is higher from other restaurant chains like Applebee's or TGI Fridays. 3) The portions are large, and you will be full.
