I came by at 8:30 on Monday, June 12th, and I definitely don't recommend this location. They somehow managed to get all 3 of my snow cones wrong -- there definitely needs to be some retraining done. As someone who works in food service, I understand that sometimes mistakes happen and people can have bad days, but this was ridiculous. Whoever was taking orders had very poor listening skills and I had to repeat myself multiple times (even though I was slowly listing each snow one off, making sure she had time to punch the order in), and still every single drink was wrong. When they were handed out to me, instead of saying which was which, the person at the drive through was basically like "here's this one, and here's this one" which kind of clued me into the fact that they had no idea what each snow cone was. Plus, not only were all 3 completely wrong, one had no syrup and one was completely drenched to the point that it had a slushy consistency instead of a snow cone. I'm pretty sure these were just temporary summer hires, but even if they're only like 16 they're definitely capable of doing a better job. I genuinely don't mean this review to be malicious but again, there definitely needs to be either some retraining, or there needs to be a manager actively listening to orders being taken/made in order to prevent big mistakes from happening. Lobby closes 30 minutes before the store does, nowhere does it say that on the website or anywhere outside the store. Drive through line quickly wrapped around the store and blocked off the exit so the line couldn't advance and no one could exit. The crew working were incredibly rude and even said "that's too bad, you'll have to get over it." Before closing the door in our faces. Safe to say I'll never come back to this location. read more

Bahama bucks is the Starbucks of snow cones. Yes.. it's more expensive than the typical snow cone BUT the ice is a lot softer and they offer so a bunch of other stuff. I love this place. I think since the weather has cooled down a bit, it's not as busy and service is a lot faster. So far, I'm obsessed with Tropic Cream. It takes your snow cone to another level. It's worth the 60 cents up charge. If you're calorie conscious, get the Stevia flavors then add Tropic cream so you don't feel so guilty. I love coconut so I opted for Strawberry colada and Pina colada. It was the first snow cone I've ever finished. The blueberry muffin flavor is really good too. I will totally get that next time. They offer super sour flavors too. I tried the sour raspberry and couldn't stop puckering. If you enjoy sour, go for the sour flavors. I promise you'll get to rock a duck face with each bite. In a nutshell, if the lines don't look too long- you should give this place a try. Add Tropic Cream and be ready to be impressed by their color changing spoons and tiki umbrellas. read more

Thought it was great! Though some of the other reviewers were in correct in that: a.) All the people working here look to be high school age--but WHY on earth would you expect anything different? Wouldn't it be more weird if it was all 40-somethings at the height of their career?? b.) The snocones here cost more than the parked trailer-type snocones places. DUH - this is not a mobile one-man-shop. They have to pay rent, bills and not to mention all those high school kids! (Plus they have to pay for those silly umbrellas and color changing spoons.) c.) The 'sno'cones are more snow-like and less icey-like. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised by this. d.) The wait is longer. If they ONLY made snocones, I would be concerned, but they make smoothies, coffees, and a random variety of drinks. Those things take time, people! If you're in a hurry, get a good blender and toss some koolade and ice into it at home. Anyway - BB's has a variety of flavors--even the sugar free versions! I don't think I've ever seen so many flavors at a shaved ice place before! I liked the key lime and margarita flavors mixed together. This is great place to cool off when you're dealing with these triple digit temps we have down in Texas. I much prefer this over snow cones with the chunky ice...shave It nice and fine for me, please! They also have a good variety of sugar free selections and smoothies and ice cream. Good for kids and families and you can go in and sit down if you'd like. There are also a bunch of locations popping up all over DFW. Can't wait until there's one right by my casa! Decided to wander in here for a cold fix as an alternative to Snow Cones. Plus, I saw on Yelp that they have sour flavors which I prefer over sugary sweet ones. The place had a looooong line for the drive up, so we went inside. Very cute decor; beachy for certain. Made me long to go to the coast. Staff was efficient and friendly. The substance, "shaved ice" is actually more like snow; really fine, packed snow. Powdered sugar consistency, even. I got the sour cherry, which actually reminded me of Robitussin in a way, but I gobbled down what I could anyway. They have lots of other yummy cold and frozen concoctions besides just the shaved ice; can't wait to go back and try the rest. I came here the other day since it was so hot outside and wanted something to cool me off. I ordered the smallest frozen lemonade orderable, and it still seemed like a large size to me. The lemonade was ok, but I've definitely had better frozen lemonade at other snow cone huts. I found the taste to be a bit too bitter for my liking. I probably wouldn't come back only because I am not a fan of sugary drinks, but it was cool to try it out. The cold drink definitely did do its job by cooling me off! read more

Honestly, how long does it take to put shaved ice in a cup and pour syrup over it? I can certainly cook a 5 course meal quicker than it takes this place to make a "baby" sized strawberry colada. On top of that, the booths are unkept (read: dirty, sticky). I tried to order the fruit cup w/ ice cream and was informed that it was no longer being served. I would have given this place "1" star, however, to give credit where credit is due; my baby finished his strawberry colada & my smoothie was decent. But not "45-minute shaved ice" decent. The sno cones and other items are great, and the sno is a great texture. However, we have been here three times, and they service is beyond slow. Not only that, but when they finally call your name, they are just "shouting" (I say that because it is more like mumbling) the flavor. Why dont they take your name? Or give you a number??? Everything there seems so chaotic. Nobody knew that their order was ready because the girls there just barely raise the little cup up to let someone know its ready. They definately need more seating and more parking. The drive through is also insanely long. And like the other review said, I ordered the fruit cup and they said they didnt serve it any more. This was such a fun fun treat to have while we were in texas! Especially since It was so incredibly hot. This seemed like the place for everyone to go and I understand why. This is not your mama's snow cone. The ice is shaved soo thin and the flavors are amazing. My brother and sister lucked out and ordered two cones that were absolutely incredible. One got the Banana daquiri with chocolate while my sister opted for the birthday cake with ice cream in the center. Seriously, I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I tried them. The only reason why this got 4 stars is because of my flavor. I ordered the Dr. Pepper and it was HORRIBLE!!! It was had a really weird sour flavor and tasted nothign like dr.pepper. And here I thought i was getting a safe flavor. I absolutely love this Bahama Bucks and my family and I frequently go here. I have never had a bad experience up until last night. I went to Bahama Bucks 2/13/23 around 8PM and ordered my usual smoothie and snow one(flat top). The flat top was not a flat top so I asked if they could make it a flat top. I simply expected them to just scrape the top off and I would've been fine with that. Instead, the young girl making the snow cone dumps in another cup which I was also okay with UNTIL she sticks her ENTIRE hand in my daughters snow cone and digs it out to put it into the other cup. She then uses her hand to push the snow cone down in the cup making it a flat top which I felt was absolutely DISGUSTING! I watched as she touched the flavor bottles, sink and the machine then puts her hand inside my child's snow cone?? I was very upset at how unsanitary that is. She could have used the spoon or another tool to get the ice out and flatten it out. When I told them I did not want it she got an attitude and said "but I have gloves on" gave me a very nasty look out the window and began to remake the snow cone. I could care less whether she had gloves on it was the fact that she touched flavor bottles, the sink and other machines then put her entire hand in my daughters snow cone! I absolutely will not be going back to this location that was very gross and she should not be handling others food if she thinks that is okay. Simply use a spoon or ice scraper or another tool when doing things like that...NOT the glove you used when touching the sink the machines and the bottles. My fiancé and I decided to check this place out after hearing raving reviews from friends. This place was PACKED for a weekday evening! We waited in line for about 10 minutes and was expecting a mind blowing experience. Not the case! While the staff was VERY kind and patient, I don't think any of them were over 16. There seemed to be a lot of fancy flavors, but sadly there wasn't a description of what those fancy items consisted of. I judge all snow cone places upon the consistency of their ice and the good ole classic flavor: Grape. I had a small grape and my fiancé had a strawberry smoothie. The "snow" was just okay...I prefer a more "icy flake" and this was much closer to an actual "snow". Good to some, just not my style. I personally like this place. The ices are good. .softer than regular shaved ice. Flavors are amazing. They are a bit pricey but are a nice treat. Service is not lightening but friendly. Crazy busy drive-thru but also crazy wait standing in line on a Sunday afternoon. First time I've gotten sno-cones at a "real" building vs a stand. I think the construction is what the customers are paying for (as well as the fancy umbrellas they put in the drinks). Not impressed yet...got the Margarita w/ creme. Pretty great spot for some shaved ice. There's a huge menu and you can also add cream to your snow cone which is all the rage. The prices are also decent for a refreshing treat! Bahama bucks also sells ice cream and smoothies but I've never tried either. What's the best part about this place you ask? There's a drive thru! Who doesn't love a drive thru snowball place?! Not saying sitting down and enjoying isn't great because it is. The inside of this place has a cool beachy vibe and is great to sit with friends on a hot mid-summer day. Apparently you can't have a cone shaped snow cone if you order online even though it's an option. If the drive thru customers can get it that way then their is no excuse not to make it that way for orders online especially when it's done before. People don't order signature snow cones only to have you throw a lid on it, it's main appeal is it's presentation. You feel like you paid $7 for a slurpee. It's become exhausting dealing with a bunch of teenagers every time especially a manager who is more concerned about her popularity amongst her employees when she should be their boss. I couldn't believe that the whole time I'm arguing with an employee that's pretending he doesn't know what I'm talking about that she was standing with the other employees gossiping about me instead of taking control of the issue. I drove to all the way to Bahama Bucks from little Elm this past Monday because it was the only place open with snowcones during the quarantine and waited in a fairly short line of about 7 cars which by the way took 45 minutes to get to the window. Once I placed my order and drove up to the pick up window, I noticed that none of the employees were wearing any sort of gloves or mask. This is a concern for myself and for your employees health especially during this pandemic. My wife introduced me to Bahama Bucks and it is the best!! At first I was like: "Snow cones?" and imagined a place next to a pony ride and a face-painting booth, but boy was I wrong. This place is amazing! It's not the traditional ice chunks with syrup poured on top, running through the cracks and pooling in the bottom of the cup for a round-house kick to the face of flavor when you are done with your block of ice. No, this is literally flavored snow! (The good kind). I highly recommend that you go check them out. SOOOOOO good! And the spoons they give you change color when they are cold too. read more

I got their Tiger's Blood with the very sour Watermelon. Warning, it is tart! My mouth just watered thinking about how good it was. Go when the weather is below 30F so you get quadruple punches. Every time I go to this location I tell myself never to go back. There is absolutely no process and all the young employees do not take their job serious. Either the snow cone has way too much syrup, hardly any syrup, or the syrup is spilt down the entire side of the cup. Today the young lady who served me was rude and did not smile once. Having never been before, I was overwhelmed with the flavors, then I saw that there were other variations of shaved ice, and for those variations there were flavors, and combinations, and add-ins. once I got control of my spinning head, and breathed into a paper bag, my son ordered the Big Red shaved ice. I got a Diet Coke with Vanilla ice. We were both happy. Surprisingly the Big Red ice was very very good. Son wants to go back next time he earns a reward.
